BIG BROTHER Comes To The Bold and the Beautiful Just In Time For Halloween!

It’s going to be a household of Big Brother former winners and contestants and some that even  just wrapped season 16 of the highly successful CBS reality series franchise, when some very familiar faces descend on to the CBS soap opera, The Bold and the Beautiful!

As previously announced, B&B had plans to feature Big Brother’s Donny Thompson in an upcoming episode! The fan favorite also took home the prize on last night’s season finale for the “America’s Vote” winner of their favorite contestant!

However, TV Guide Magazine’s Michael Logan filled soap fans in, that not only is Donny coming to the set of the daytime drama, but so too are: Big Brother 16 players Amber, Zach, Cody, Caleb, Nicole, Hayden and Devin, plus past Big Brother favorites Brendon, Rachel, Elissa, Jeff and Jordan.

It seems that all the reality series  stars will appear in an upcoming Halloween episode of The Bold and the Beautiful that will air on October 30th and 31st, and that their are special plans for Donny Thompson’s time in soapland!

Thompson told TVG about his upcoming soap experience: “Being on The Bold and the Beautiful will be lots of fun. They’ve got me wearing all sorts of outfits — surgeon, soldier, you name it. (Laughs) Wait till they see this back home! I’m going to be in scenes with Scott Clifton (Liam), who they tell me has three Emmys and that he loves Big Brother and is a big fan of mine. Huh? I’m just a little groundskeeper from nowhere and I have a fan who’s a big-deal actor in Hollywood? I’d be happy just to mow his grass.”

So what do you think of a Halloween episode filled with Big Brother contestants and winners on The Bold and the Beautiful?  Who are you most looking forward to seeing on the soap from the reality series?  Were you rooting for Donny in BB16?  Share your thoughts below!

Love Donny and Zach. Not sure why Devin was thrown in the mix though. I can’t wait to see this episode.

Thankfully Frankie will not be on. So tired of
CBS shoving him down our throats. He is such a
fame chaser. So is Caleb.

Vanessa…I agree. But I found Frankie to be WAY MORE ANNOYING than Caleb!!!!! To me, Frankie is ANNOYING PERIOD!!!!!

I agree Vanessa. I am done with him. I would call it overkill !

Looking forward to the episodes featuring the BB players! It would be great fun to have Donny playing a groundskeeper, speaking to one of the main characters as they walk into or out of Forrester Creations. Or they can take it entirely in the opposite direction, and have him play a professor or one of the other many professions the other houseguests thought he had.

Isn’t B&B supposed to be about fashion? How could they ignore the two biggest fashionistas in the BB house, Frankie and Victoria and take almost ever body else?

They’ve been doing it since the show was created, so I’m sure it wasn’t hard to exclude the obvious. I guess the show depicts its OWN reality (thus, we get “stars” from reality TV as well!) Might as well grit our teeth and bear it! The good ole days of soaps are long gone and NEVER EVER coming back!

Don’t know why we need them on B&B.

Why not??!

I didn’t think they really added anything and some of them (Donny) cannot act.

Meh! B&B disappoints with catering to these awful reality TV “stars” from equally awful reality TV series. I don’t watch reality shows, but B&B is using so many reality “stars” it’s blurring the lines. I may tune out for those days or at least FF through. If B&B keeps this up, I’ll tune out altogether. Not happy since I DO NOT watch B&B to see cast-offs from reality TV! For me, it’s another good reason to consider kicking the daytime soap habit!

CBS cross promotes all the time. They’re greedy, money hungry grubs!

Days is by far the BEST soap on daytime! It should have higher ratings. I wish they’d clean up the “messes” with their supercouples (past and present), so long-time fans that have left would have a reason to come back! Save John Black. Fix Jena nd Jack and have them running the Days news (she’s a journalist after all, not a PR person or whatever she does at the hospital!) Get Peter Reckell back or recast Bo — and have Bo and Hope be happy together and solve crimes/mysteries on Days (that would present limitless SLs and make a happy,… Read more »

It is all about cross promotion– CBS has Big Brother, with it’s large fan base, they try to lure some of those fans to watch B&B to see their Big Brother faves– some of those fans may have never watched B&B or a soap– but might start watching solely based on this peek of this show. It is not catering to reality stars– it is catering their bottom line–

That’s fine, but many soap fans (loyal viewers of the show) don’t watch reality shows and are put off by this being shoved in our faces, cross promotion or not. What’s next? The hosts of The Talk acting as fashion consultants at a Forrester Creation fashion show?! Yuck! That will be when I tune out.

@Matthew Place— Actually on Y&R, Avery went on the Talk to promote her cooking show– mercifully we were spare actually having to see it, but they did promote the show on Y&R. But I agree with you, soap fans don’t really like when these “special” guests come onto a show– it adds nothing to the story and they are usually just awkward scenes– but as I said the networks don’t care about soap fans, only about business and in their minds this is good business.

I think this is a stupid move on the part of Brad Bell. He should be trying to save the genre, not do cross-promotion that could spell the end: If the ratings go WAY UP on Oct 30-31, maybe CBS will consider a daytime reality/docu-soap?! Yay! Go ahead, CBS. I won’t BE watching! 🙁 Cross-promoting with reality shows/stars is almost as absurd as ID counter programming against our remaining soaps by hiring beloved soap stars to host crime dramas and encouraging soap fans to tune in! ID has been calling these crime shows the daytime “stories”. Note to Brad Bell:… Read more »

oh geesh! IT was just for a Halloween party! What’s the big deal?! It’s not like they had a story line. Geesh! Get a life and just enjoy it.

There are other things going on that matter so much more, so I will accept this as the mild annoyance it is — and hope it never becomes anything more. That said, is one of the networks/soap producers working on a docu-soap? NBC? Brad Bell? I get a distinct feeling that something is in the works. I don’t know if I read it some place? Maybe other soap fans know of this? Not sure. Just a feeling maybe. If on eof the networks built a show (reality soap) around a popular current or former soap star, I have a feeling… Read more »

All My Children

All My Children and Guiding Light Vet, Gil Rogers Passes Away

Gil Rogers, who played one of the all-time most dastardly villains in soaps on All My Children and was the on-screen father to the one and only Reva Shayne (Kim Zimmer) on Guiding Light, has died at age 87.

News came via his daughter, Amanda Rogers on her Facebook page, relating that Gil passed away on March 2nd.

The actor had played Tad (Michael E. Knight) and Jenny’s (Kim Delaney) father, Ray Gardner on All My Children from 1977-1978 making multiple appearance though 2001, then later as Hawk Shayne on Guiding Light from 1985-1992 making multiple appearance through 2009.

Gil also appeared on Another World, Search for Tomorrow and The Doctors.

In her post, Amanda wrote: “Gil Rogers died this morning. As you all know, my dad was awesome. He was my best friend, confidant, mentor and just an awesome dad. He came to pick me and  Charlotte Whitaker Zdanowski up at clubs at 2AM in our teens to keep us safe, and drank bourbon with me every day since moving out here 2 years ago. He was welcoming and kind, funny and gregarious, a shameless flirt and a fierce protector. He loved his dinners with grandkids and endured animated movies and discussions about pokemon. And I miss him so terribly already. He died in his sleep, without pain or fear. I am so grateful to have had such a great father and to have spent these past 2 years with him every day.”

Check out this vintage scene below from All My Children where Ray played by Rogers blows up the Martin house.

Now share your remembrances of Gil’s performances and along with condolences for his family in the comment section.

Chris Harrison In First Interview Since ‘Bachelor’ Controversy Says He Wants To Be Back as Host; But GMA’s Michael Strahan Says Apology was a “Surface Response”

Thursday’s Good Morning America featured the highly-publicized first interview with ‘Bachelor’ franchise host and executive producer, Chris Harrison, since he stepped away from the show following his controversial remarks on current Bachelor contestant Rachel Kirkconnell, amid the airing of a season that has seen the first-ever Black male lead of the reality series, Matt James.

Speaking with GMA co-host, Michael Strahan, Harrison spoke of remarks he made during his interview with ex-Bachelorette Rachel Lindsay on Extra that sparked the firestorm.

Harrison admitted the words he spoke to Lindsey were “in a manner that perpetuates racism,” adding “I am an imperfect man I made a mistake and I own that. I believe that mistake doesn’t reflect who I am or what I stand for.”

The incident began when photos surfaced on social media of Kirkconnell at an Old South-themed party that she attended back in 2018, along with allegations she “liked” many Instagram posts that were racist in nature, and what many viewed as Harrison coming to her defense in this time of what he then called “cancel culture”.

On GMA, Chris expressed: “Antebellum parties are not OK,  Past, present, future, knowing what that represents is unacceptable.”

He also apologized to Lindsay, who had to shut down her Instagram account because of viral vitriol being sent her way over the incident with Harrison, adding this message to the public, “Anyone who is throwing hate towards Rachel Lindsay, please stop. It’s unacceptable.”

As to how he is trying to make amends, Harrison shared: “I made a mistake and I own that, Racism, oppression, these are big dynamic problems and they take serious work. I am committed to that work.”  The longtime Bachelor host then announced he is working with race educator Dr. Eric Dyson who has taught him about the idea of “counsel, not cancel”.

Chris says he plans to be back hosting the reality-dating series, expressing:  “I plan to be back. I want to be back.  This interview is not the finish line. There is much more work to be done.”

Following the exclusive, Michael Strahan described his conversation with Chris Harrison stating: “His apology is his apology, but it felt like it got nothing more than a surface response on any of this. Obviously, he is the man who wants to clearly stay on the show, but only time will tell if there is any meaning behind his words.”

So, what do you think of Chris Harrison’s responses during his first interview since the controversy? Should he return to hosting The Bachelor franchise? Comment below. But first check out his GMA exclusive.

General Hospital

GH’s Wes Ramsey Makes Statement on Criticism, Social Media, and Professionalism

General Hospital’s Wes Ramsey, who portrays polarizing character, Peter August on the ABC daytime drama series, responded to a recent take on his role from cast mate, Tristan Rogers (Scorpio) when a video made its way through social media.

The video was from a Cameo appearance, where Rogers offered an assessment of the Peter August storyline and expressed that while he knows Ramsey is a strong actor, he felt he was “wrong for the character” being that Peter was the son of the evil Faison played by Anders Hove.

Rogers also came to the defense of Ramsey and shared: “Don’t be too hard on Wes Ramsey. He’s got himself into a horrible storyline, and the storyline is the fault of the show. What they’ve literally done is they’ve painted themselves into a corner, and they don’t know how to get out of it.”

Currently, Peter’s story is front and center on GH with his wedding to Maxie (Kirsten Storms), and the fallout from all of the character’s dirty deeds.

Now Ramsey took to his Instagram account to address what transpired and his thoughts on the perils of social media, professionalism and acting, expressing: “Actors are storytellers, shapeshifters, chameleons. We’re also in the business of cultivating trust bc that’s how the best work is brought to life. We have to trust our imaginations, our instincts. We have to trust our fellow actors, because without them, there’s no scene to play. In the collaborative efforts of bringing any show to life, we also have to trust our directors each day to steer the arch of our story (like a conductor with a symphony) & trust our writers who are tasked with composing the symphonies we play out. I came up in a world of classical theater, where trusting the play, text, story is essential to the tightrope balancing act of making magic.  You will never hear me critique (on any public platform) the people responsible for the creative opportunities I enjoy each day. Without the trust of my writers, directors, producers & fellow actors, it would be impossible to live out my dreams. My job (& my only job) is to bring fearlessness, playfulness & passionate conviction to what has been created for me. My aim is to stretch myself (beyond the limits of where I think my boundaries may lye) each time I’m entrusted with material that allows those boundaries to be tested.

Every actor must believe they are the right person for their part or they will never achieve their potential, let alone surpass it. I was raised a gentleman & have two wonderful parents to thank for that, however, my polite personality (while rendering me easy to get along with on set) should have little bearing on my caliber of performance nor my castability as a professional.  I am leery of the pitfalls of social media & believe there are advantages to maintaining some mystery (even as a public figure) but I will always defend & protect what I hold dear (my job & my career) when they are publicly challenged, especially by those closest to me, whom I love & respect. Please know I bear no ill will. As a society, we are all still learning the full ramifications of living in an internet dominated culture. To all my many fans out there who offer encouragement & support, I hear you & am grateful for you. I’m having a blast… 🙂. Onward we go.”
