Brad Maule Reprising His Role As Dr. Tony Jones On General Hospital

Courtesy: BradMauleTwitter

There is official confirmation today that Brad Maule is returning to General Hospital in his signature soap role as Dr. Tony Jones.  The event will take place sometime in November when Tony appears to his adopted son, Lucas (Ryan Carnes) in a pivotal moment.

The character of Tony was killed-off the Port Charles canvas back in 2006 when he died of encephalitis.

Brad lives in Austin tx he is a super guy great actor can’t believe Frank would use him I think he use to be a conservative radio host ! Lordy those flaming liberals can’t allow that ! Great to see you Brad show those idiots how to act on that show ! Bravo! You got robbed of a Emmy for the BJ story those were the days

Frankly, I blame Obama for killing off Tony Jones. I also blame him for the deaths of Alan and AJ Quartmermaine.

That’s hilarious Harry. Yes, I read Kay’s comments and thought why is she injecting flaming Liberals into the return Tony Jones. Nice way to handle it!

I know you are just attempting to take a stab at humor there, Harry, but even those of us who don’t like “your president” realize that Tony Jones was killed off during “George W’s” administration…hence you missed a great Bush-bashing opportunity there, since as I recall, everything was 43’s fault according to the left! Having said that, I don’t think it would be far-fetched to suggest that AJ’s abrupt death—- and particularly his seemingly highly-unlikely resurrection—-have some connection to Sean Kanan’s stated political beliefs and appearances on conservative talk shows. Despite remaining one of GH’s most popular legacy characters who… Read more »

Hollywood is a liberal love fest! Their mob-like president is De Niro and his right hand man is Baldwin.

Not only that, I think Hillary was the one who was driving the bus that ran over BJ! And she (Hillary) liked it!

Also, it was Obama in the grassy knoll. Sure, he was in diapers and sure, he lived in Kenya, and yet, there he was.

@Kay….God Bless You!….Although I have no particular devotion to either Tony Jones or Brad Maule, you certainly have the guts to say out loud what a lot of us think in reference to the casting decisions made at GH….It’s pretty obvious that Republican-leaning actors are considered undesirables in the Port Charles sphere, and the few current/recently departed players that I suspect of harboring such political views have out of necessity kept a very dignified silence regarding their opinions for the sake of self-preservation.

GH is making casting decisions based on people’s political beliefs? Sorry, that is one of the most ridiculous, asinine things I’ve ever heard in my life. They currently employ numerous people both in front of and behind the camera who would identify as Republican or conservative, and you don’t have to look very hard to know who they are, either. So honestly, stop with this made up conspiracy theory nonsense.

I never heard of this man, not a clue to him. Apparently he will be a ghost just in time for Halloween LOL.. Anyways.. Don’t anyone put blame on Julian, Brad lied to him, also. As for Julian; He’s not Blackmailing Brad, he simply threatened him.. Bard could have come forth at any time with the truth, Julian is not to blame for Brad’s cowardness and deceit. If I were writing the story;’ Julian would have punched him upside the head and forced Brad to tell Lucas the truth a long time ago. Have you ever noticed; most soap characters… Read more »

I agree with you, Suoo. That mouth breather Brad pulled Julian into his scheme. I cannot stand Brad–Lucas is way too good for that creep. And I will never be able to erase the sight of mouth breathing Brad in his black, bikini underwear.

You are so right. I hate that little slimy Brad and have since he and the britch did what they did to Lulu. How much you wanna bet, she will come out of the woodwork to help him out when everything falls around his ears? I could never understand the coupling of he and Lucas, who is such a great guy, though naive and seems to live in a cocoon.

They make Julian into a pansy. Why? He can be out of the mob but still be a hard ass! He should have slapped Brad a long time ago!

Classic GH! Kill off a long timer unnecessarily, and then toss long time fans a scrap with a ghost. Its not enough.

It’s been a long time since I’ve been so angry about a television spoiler because after having watched GH religiously for decades, I permanently turned it off in disgust when in 2013, Frisco Jones and Robin Scorpio were trashed by TPTB. Since then, I’ve seen news about the show on social media, but this tidbit has me triggered. I do NOT want Tony Jones to come back to a show run by people who have no problem destroying returning vets for the fun of it and using them to prop their OLTL pets. Tony Jones belongs to the Golden Era… Read more »

I could not agree with you more, Lillian! What was done to besmirch and belittle the character of Frisco Jones was especially revolting! (And it continues to this day with the snarky little offhanded remarks by Mac, Felicia, et al…) Jack Wagner’s star-making role was one of GH’s finest and most popular during the heyday of the soap, and it was extremely offensive to see both the actor and his singing secret agent treated with such utter disrespect during his much anticipated and far-too-brief return. As far as Tony Jones goes, I say let the dead rest in peace and… Read more »

Thank you for the reply and support of my comment. With all due respect, while I understand your desire to see Frisco Jones redeemed through another return to GH, I would not hold my breath for a number of reasons. First, this regime had every opportunity to honor Frisco Jones (and his fans) when they managed to get him to agree to return for a short visit after an 18 year absence. They chose instead to denigrate, disparage, mock, and humiliate him in order to make the lacklustre Mac Scorpio appear to be a viable alternative for Felicia when all… Read more »

And thank you for your very eloquent response, Lillian! Once again, we are on the exact same page, as I do realize that my wish for the triumphant return of Frisco Jones to Port Charles is more than likely just a pipedream. As you have pointed out, not only does Jack Wagner have a multitude of better things to do than come back to daytime, but the current GH regime has made their negative feelings toward the character and the actor abundantly clear with their snotty little asides that have been tossed into the show’s dialogue for some time now.… Read more »

YES!!! I am excited to hear this bit of news!!! I always thought it was bogus when they killed off Tony and never understood how his death could move story forward So glad we get to see the character again even if it’s a ghostly type of visit.

It will be wonderful to see Brad Maule on screen again. GH does the “dead character appears as a ghost” bit a lot, but it’s been 13 years since Brad last appeared, so it will be meaningful, particularly for longtime fans. Tony was one of my favorite characters when I started watching GH in the early 90s. All these years later, I still get emotional when I think of that scene with Tony putting his head on Maxie’s chest to hear BJ’s heart beating after the heart transplant. You know something was well done when it still touches you 25… Read more »

Hopefully Ghost Tony can put an end to this baby switch dragonshit storyline. Tony’s not down here in Hell, but if we keep track of things in Port Charles, you can bet they know about it upstairs as well.

I figured it out. Brad is an awsome actor, he’s coming back because he owes a favor or he needs money. The creepy mongers, are so desparite to make ratings or money, that they think each infomercial scene, will keep people caring. Stupid stories, sucking depth of story, hoping to catch the ADDT generation….but they are mostly on Pharmas, that prevent them from giving attention to a storey…or following one. Let’s face it folks, Storey telling gone from our world atleast from TV, and the stupid attempts these stupid producers are using to ‘last another week’ LAME. Lets hope THEY… Read more »

I loved Tony and Tonya. What a great era. BUT, Tony, like Tonya are gone. I hate that he is being brought back as a ghost. It is cheap and quite frankly a slap in the face! But, its Brad’s choice. He knows what he is doing. Maybe its just a little gift for us long time fans? I just wish he would have come back permanently as Tony’s never mentioned older brother who ALSO is a doctor. Can you imagine him at GH at the nurses station and Bobbi gets off the elevator and she sees him? Oh wait,… Read more »

GH’s Brook Kerr and Tabyana Ali Talk On: Trina’s Trial, Spencer and Rory, And Their On-Screen Mother/Daughter Relationship

Currently, General Hospital fans are awaiting the verdict in Trina’s trial and just what lengths her mother will go to in order to secure her freedom! With the story playing out on-air, Michael Farman chatted in a new virtual interview with the two women central to the story; Brook Kerr (Portia) and Tabyana Ali (Trina).

As viewers know, Trina was set-up by Esme Prince (Avery Pohl), to make it appear that she taped her best friends, Cameron (William Lipton) and Josslyn (Eden McCoy) having sex, and then posted the video from her phone, so it went viral.

Photo: ABC

During the conversation for You Tube’s Michael Fairman Channel, Tabyana and Brook weigh-in on what’s gone down at the trial including; how Spencer Cassadine came forward with an alibi for Trina, plus how Portia may put her medical career at risk if she brings Esme’s partner in crime, Oz, out of his coma to get the evidence they need to point the finger on Esme.

In addition, Tabyana and Brook share their thoughts on the men in Trina’s life: Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) and Rory Cabrera (Michael Blake Kruse), and how the #Sprina has a life of its own on social media.

Brook also shares dishes on Portia’s romantic relationship with Curtis (Donnell Turner), plus the recent noteworthy scenes between Portia and Stella (Vernee Watson), where GH shed light on a mother’s concern; that racial injustice could factor in to the jury’s decision in Trina’s case.

Photo: ABC

Tabyana also discusses working alongside GH co-stars, Maura West (Ava) and Carolyn Hennesy (Diane), and what it was like taking over the role of Trina from popular fan favorite, Sydney Mikayla.

Check out the full chat with Brook and Tabyana below.

Kin Shriner Celebrates 45-Year Milestone as General Hospital’s Scott Baldwin

What would General Hospital be without Kin Shriner, who has always played Scott Baldwin to the hilt with unique style and acting chops? Today on August 2nd, Kin marks his 45th anniversary with the ABC daytime drama series, and the series just would never be the same without his four decades plus of performances, making him an enduring fan favorite.

Shriner debuted on GH back on this date in 1977.  Scott’s love story with Laura (Genie Francis) would begin to set a new trajectory for GH. Later, when Laura married Luke (Tony Geary) in 1981, and Scott made a shocking appearance at the reception and caught the bouquet, the character turned to the dark side which started a new era of story for Scott/Laura/Luke and more.

Photo: ABC

Scott is the stepson of attorney, Lee Baldwin (the late Peter Hansen) and Dr. Gail Adamson (the late Susan Brown); although through the years they tangled over differences, the family loved and cared for one another.

Photo: ABC

In more recent years, Scott’s legal eagle courtroom antics are always a must-see for viewers, as well as any time Shriner gets to show Scott’s emotional side, such as the time he learned his son Franco (Roger Howarth) had died.

Photo: ABC

Kin’s scenes with his current on-screen love interest, Kathleen Gati (Liesl) are always a delight for GH fans, as well.

In addition to his General Hospital run, Shriner appeared as Scott in the GH spinoff; Port Charles from 1997-2000 and again in 2001.

Share your congratulations to Kin on his 45th anniversary in the comment section, and then let us know what has been your favorite Scott Baldwin scene through the years.

But first, in case you missed it, check out our interview last year with Kin on the Michael Fairman Channel below.

General Hospital’s Maura West Delivers The ‘Power Performance of the Week’

On last Thursday and Friday’s episode of General Hospital, the ABC soap opera finally moved the story forward with the reveal to Ava (Maura West) that Nikolas (Marcus Coloma) and Esme (Avery Pohl) slept together, and within it, fans got to witness the beginning of the fallout and the reaction as played by three-time Daytime Emmy-winner and enduring fan favorite, Maura West.

As one might expect, the material in the hands of the mighty West, and the acting choices she makes are always intriguing and masterful.

In story, things start to unravel for Ava, when outside Trina’s (Tabyana Ali) courtroom trial, Esme and Ava have a confrontation.  It is there that Esme snarks at Ava, that she has the ability to destroy her world.  When Ava dares her to try, Nikolas shows up on the scene begging Esme to stop.  However, a manipulative Esme says, “Too late, I’m ending this right here, right now.” After lighting the fire, Esme walks off telling Nikolas to have a nice chit chat with his wife.

Next, Ava and Nikolas go to a private office, and Nikolas tells her that he made a huge mistake. A now suspicious Ava, asks, “What kind of mistake?” Nikolas then goes on to explain how he slept with Esme, just once, when he thought his relationship with Ava had tanked and had suffered irreparable damage.

Courtesy/ABC

What comes after was where West shined, as a sarcastic Ava quipped, “Poor you, seduced by a high school graduate.”  Ava, then launches into that she thought she married a man, but instead she married a spineless weakling, and now she is going to burn him to the ground.

Later at Wyndemere, as Esme is frantically packing her suitcase and taking with her the all-important envelope linking her to Ryan (Jon Lindstrom), Ava appears and a confrontation begins with Ava calling out Esme as a, “conniving little whore”. Esme flaps back that Ava slept with both Morgan and Sonny (Maurice Benard)! Having put two and two together, Ava says she know that Esme is responsible for the revenge sex tape of Cameron (Willian Lipton) and Joss (Eden McCoyand setting fire to her car.

Courtesy/ABC

Ava has wised up from all of Esme’s nasty statements and has come to realize that everything Esme has done including sleeping with Nikolas, feels like a targeted, planned attack on her, and she knows there is more to this story than Esme has ever let on.  When Ava spots the envelope in Esme’s suitcase, she goes to get it, but Esme grabs it from her. Then, with a steely warning, Ava tells Esme that she will be going to the courthouse now to exonerate Trina, and if she doesn’t, Ava will make sure Esme disappears and no one will ever be able to find her alive.

Now, while some viewers may be waiting for a knock-down drag-out catfight, we don’t know what will happen on Monday or Tuesday’s episode, but sometimes it’s more delicious just letting the words and its intentions drive the action, and West delivered the goods in spades in scenes with Marcus Coloma and Avery Pohl.

For all the reasons stated above, Michael Fairman TV names Maura West’s work as The Power Performance of the Week.

What did you think of Maura’s performance in the scenes where Ava finds out Nikolas slept with Esme and Ava’s confrontation later with Esme? What do you hope happens next?  Share your thoughts and theories via the comment section.  But firstm check out some moments from West’s performance below.
