Braedyn Bruner Cast as General Hospital’s New Emma Drake

The holidays are bringing a fan favorite character back to Port Charles when Emma Drake comes home, but there’s a catch. No longer is Brooklyn Rae Silzer playing the part of Robin (Kimberly McCullough) and Patrick’s (Jason Thompson) daughter, but instead, General Hospital has recast the part with actress, Braedyn Bruner.

As viewers know, Brooklyn had played the role of Emma since she was a little girl starting back in 2011 and up until 2023 when she would make return appearances. Now, Emma comes home with Bruner making her debut, and she immediately shares scenes with her on-screen grandmother, Finola Hughes (Anna Devane) on the Monday, December 23rd episode of the ABC daytime drama series.

Bruner spoke with TV Insider on what GH fans can look forward to with her version of Emma Drake. Bruner expressed, “Emma is confident. She’s bold, she’s unruly, you could call her rebellious. But I think underneath all that tough exterior, she’s really quite compassionate. As we’ve been filming, we’re kind of peeling back those layers and getting to see more and more of the vulnerable side of her. But externally, she’s a lot.”

Hailing from Texas and having a few feature films under her belt, Braedyn shared that Emma is the “most fun I’ve ever had playing a character because she is incredibly nuanced and I’m finding more and more of her every day. I hope everyone loves her as much as I do.” Much like some recasts choose to do, Braedyn looked up video clips of Emma’s story on You Tube in preparing for the role, plus scenes of the romance of Emma’s parents, Robin and Patrick.

Could Emma be the new love interest for Gio (Giovanni Mazza)? According to Braedyn, “As soon as I found out I booked it, Gio and I went and got lunch and kind of got to know each other on a more personal level.”

Taking to her Instagram on her first GH airdate, Bruner expressed, “I’m so SO excited and honored to continue this incredible legacy. & to my new family at General Hospital, I love every single one of ya.”

So, how are we feeling about a Emma Drake recast? Excited for Anna to have her granddaughter back in Port Charles? Share your thoughts in the comment section below.

This was a long-time coming; it’s very clear Brooklyn Rae Silzer is focused on her school work (which she should be), so it was time tor recast Emma. Plus, this will also put her back into the proper rankings of the Josslyn demographic. I’m looking forward to seeing what Braedyn Bruner will do with the role.

THE WRITERS AND PRODUCER’S OF GH HAVE MADE A BIG MISTAKE and if those lunkheads knew how to write the show would not be going the way of All my Children and One Life to Live and that is down the crapper first off Lulu is BACK so where is her brother Ethan where is her Grandmothe Leslie why have they not come back why no visit to Nicholas ROBIN Has a brand new SISTER WHERE IS SHE her daughter which is not her daughter is home bad recast too and sad decision too waited months for a family reunion and got a crap recast just send Emma back home it is all to sad and pathetic to watch hey GH Writers start channelling Gloria Monty now that is when the show was good and exciting and entertaining now it is just crap on a cracker so Pathetic SEND EMMA HOME BYE BYE

I see the direction the writers are taking GH and I’m loving it. They are building or rebuilding GH legacy families. They started with the Q’s. Tracy has become the matriarch of the Quartermaine family. She’s fighting for Michael and even welcomed Jason, in her own way of course, back home. Even the Q home has become a central hub. Then thankfully they reunited the Spencer family. I love seeing Laura reunited with her children, Lucky and Lulu. I don’t mind the two new Scorpios, Cody and Sasha, but now they’re bringing back a legacy character with Emma Scorpio-Drake. I always thought it would be sweet if Emma and Cameron came back as a couple.

I loved Cameron’s (Will Lipton) recent visit but I do wish they could bring Cam and Jake back home. Especially since Elizabeth and her sons are the grandchildren and great-grandchildren of Dr Tom Hardy.

I Wish the writers of GH would get their heads out of their tuckus they have ruined my show and they continue to do so yes they bring back characters but they don’t stay long and I hope that is the case with Emma SEND HER HOME I waited months for a reunion thinking it would be Robin since she has a new SISTER and Jason came home WHERE THE FRICK IS SHE her daughter showed up big let down there a RECAST Pathetic SEND EMMA HOME the show is a downer if Laura weren’t on it i’d give up on it I Still might Start channeling GLORIA MONTY that is the only thing to save this train wreck Pathetic SEND EMMA HOME GET HER OUT SUCH A LET DOWN

Edward – why are you watching? You seem to really dislike GH. And clearly you don’t know much about the actress who plays Robin. KM doesn’t act anymore. She works behind the scenes as a director. Her last on screen credit is 2021 on GH. And if my memory is correct that was very short term. If my memory is correct, it’s been a decade since she was on contract while making several short term appearances from 2014 to 2021. So to answer your question of “where the frick is she” – her character is in CA. The actress is doing other things. Do you want a Robin recast? Based on your ALL CAPS, I think your head would literally explode if they did. Get over it. Enjoy the show. Don’t enjoy the show. But gosh, calm down.

Thank you Jeff.

Jeff, you did better than I did, telling Mr. ED the facts. If I’d seen your post first, I wouldn’t have bothered wasting my time. Happy Holidays to you and yours.

Oh, poor baby, they are “ruining YOUR show”?Robin is long gone and the previous Emma is pursuing a career as a nurse, and you are demanding that these actors stop living their lives and perform for YOU, are you nuts or just plain selfish? My guess would be both!

Recast Robin now as well if Kimberly not returning

No no no no. A recast Robin is unacceptable. There are just some characters you cannot recast. Robin is one of them.

Agreed. And, there’s no space on the canvas for Robin right now.

Agreed. The show has been on 60+ years. Characters come and go. The actress has moved on. The character has moved on. And that’s OK.

Yeah. Let’s recast Luke and Steve Hardy while we’re at it.

(yes, that was Satanic sarcasm)

Have you figured out yet, who has acquired Windemere.? The H on the sofa pillow has me stymied. The only cast member that stands out is Hardy, Is it possible that one of them is left or ???

Emma should have been brought back ages ago, and I wish It would of been with Brooklyn Rae Silzer, but if she’s in school (college) then I can understand, wish William Lipton would of return full time and been repaired with Emma, but I not mad if they put her with Gio, I hope Emma is a good combo of her mom and Grandma, I would love to see Emma kicking ass like grandma.

I am not happy about the recast. Brooklyn will always be Emma to me. I looked forward to seeing her grow up and continue with the show the Kimberly played Robin since she was a kid. I was very disappointed yesterday seeing the recast. Gh needs to remember the actresses who made up fall in love with the character. They could have just let Brooklyn come back for a few episodes like Cameron Webber is doing. Stop with all the recasts we have had too many and it is ruining the show as a whole.

It’s possible Brooklyn might not have been interested in doing even a few episodes anymore. She’s studying to become a nurse and appears to be at least putting acting on the back burner.

Braedyn is gorgeous! I think we should all welcome her with open arms to GH and give her a fair chance as a SORAS’d Emma. Let’s hope the writers give her a good, decent story.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Michael Gets Willow Right Where He Wants Her, Curtis is Found Guilty and Sentenced to Prison

Michael and Willow

The Thursday, August 13 episode of General Hospital gave us just what Michael (Rory Gibson) was going to do to Willow (Katelyn MacMullen), now that he had the goods on her that she shot Drew, the verdict in the Curtis (Donnell Turner) vs. Isaiah (Sawandi Wilson) case, and left us with Trina (Tabyana Ali) alone with her stalker nearby. Let’s take a look at how it all went down!

When Willow arrived at the Quartermaines to pick up Wiley and Amelia, she was stopped in her tracks when Michael confronted her armed with the truth that she shot Drew (Cameron Mathison) twice in the back. She denies it. However, Michael pulls out of an envelope signed affidavits from Kai (Jens Austin Astrup) and Trina, explaining they were at Drew’s house that night and have proof.

Michael explains her ring tone went off on her phone while she was getting ready to shoot Drew, and it was a match for Wiley’s. Kai and Trina heard the same ringtone at the courthouse when she stood trial for attempted murder. Willow threw the fact that she can’t be tried again in a court of law because of double jeopardy. However, Michael stopped her ranting and says double jeopardy doesn’t apply in family court.

HOW MICHAEL GOT THE UPPER HAND ON WILLOW

Now, Michael is ready to expose her crime. Suddenly, Willow grabs the rolling pin on the counter to strike Michael, but he is able to block her. Michael tells Willow she either accepts the arrangement he is about to tell her, or she will never see her children again. Willow tries to counter that Jacinda drugged her and she can prove it. However, Michael lets it be known that Jacinda is long gone with no forwarding address.

Next, Michael tells Willow she can remain a part of their children’s lives and he will keep their current custody arrangement as long as she moves back into the gatehouse. Willow hates the gatehouse, but knows she has no other option, so she says she will pack up her things at Nina’s and move in.

GUILTY!

At the courthouse, the jury has reached a verdict in the case of Curtis vs. Isaiah. When the jury comes back before the court, the jury foreperson shares, “We find the defendant, Curtis Ashford, guilty of second-degree assault and battery.” In lieu of the verdict, the judge sentences Curtis to ten years in prison at Pentonville with the possibility of parole in two years.

Curtis’ attorney Martin Grey (Michael E. Knight) tells his client he has gotten him 48 hours before he had to report to prison, and planned to file an appeal with the courts on the verdict. Curtis then says heartfelt goodbyes with Trina and Jordan (Tanisha Harper), before heading over to Portia’s (Brook Kerr) to see his newborn son, Desmond knowing he will not see him for quite a long time.

WHO’S THE STALKER?

Trina and Kai are at now at Bobbie’s. They talk about her father going to prison, and Trina is channeling her feelings into her songwriting. Kai decides to let Trina be by herself so she can focus and he won’t be a distraction. However, after Kai makes his exit, someone is looking through the windows at Bobbie’s and targeting Trina. But who? We fade to black.

So, what did you think about Michael having the goods on Willow and knowing she shot Drew? Were you happy about how he used the information to gain the upper hand to get her to move back into the Quartermaines gatehouse? Were you hoping for a different outcome? Are we just a short time away from Michael and Willow being back together as a couple after everything that has happened? Then, what did you think of the verdict in Curtis’ case? Glad he going away to prison for what he did? Do you care, or do not really care? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

‘General Hospital’s’ Carlo Rota Shares His Run as Sidwell Has NOT Come to an End

Published

on

By

Carlo Rota

After General Hospital viewers learned this week from Molly Lansing-Davis (Kristen Vaganos) that Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) was sentenced to 31 years in prison with a possibility for parole in 26 years for all of his crimes (after he had taken a plea deal with the Port Charles court system), fans were wondering the status of Rota with the show.

With so many recent on-screen exits, GH viewers were concerned that Rota was the next casualty, although his character of Sidwell deserves to be put a way for life, it appears we may see him back, and from his jail cell. Could he wind up being the cellmate of Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner), who on today’s August 13 episode was sentenced to 10 years in prison with a possibility of parole for two years, for physically attacking Dr. Isaiah Gannon (Sawandi Wilson)? Stay tuned.

Meanwhile, Sidwell’s portrayer, Carlo Rota gave a clue as to his character’s whereabouts during his General Hospital Fan Club Weekend event, along with his wife Nazneen Contractor (Justine, GH), according to a report from Soap Central.

WHAT IS SIDWELL’S FUTURE AND WHAT WILL HAPPEN WITH HIS BUSINESS HOLDINGS?

Rota told the crowd in attendance that Sidwell will soon be seen in Pentonville and his scenes will also include another familiar face from the Port Charles canvas. Could it be Curtis or someone else yet to be thrown into the slammer? Carlo teased, “I am in prison with another character from the show. We share a cell.”

The last time anyone saw Jenz Sidwell was back on the July 6 episode when he was in the interrogation room at the PCPD and tried to make a deal with Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper).

The deal was that he wanted Jordan to get her hands on his money from his offshore bank accounts and in return, he can get her hooked up with the best plastic surgeon in the world (the one in Germany that Michael went to) and she can jump ahead over the waiting list. However, Jordan turned him down flat, although the thought of fixing her face still weighs heavily upon her.

GH viewers first met Sidwell, the newest villain in town to go up against Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) for the his territory, back in August of 2024.

Flash-forward to late summer of 2026, there has been plenty of talk by Sonny and now Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) to take over Sidwell’s business holdings that will be up for auction, most likely setting the stage for Drew and Sidwell to be in cahoots, or some other shenanigans to get back at Sonny.

So, are you glad to know that there will be more Sidwell on the way soon? Do you wish the character would just already be off the canvas for good? Glad that Curtis got 10-year prison sentence, or don’t care? Let us know your thoughts via the comment section.

THE ARTIST KNOWN AS FRANCO ON GENERAL HOSPITAL

General Hospital fans will recall it was back in 2009, that James Franco, played the artist known as “Franco” who was fixated on death and became a main villain of the show and nemesis to Jason Morgan (Steve Burton). At the time, James Franco explained about his GH alter-ego. “Franco works in a lot of different ways. He does graffiti, performances, photographs. He creates installations based on murder scenes featuring murders he possibly was involved with. He’s interested in pushing the boundaries of art – both aesthetically and ethically – and he will go way too far.”

James played “Franco” for a few runs on the soap opera from 2009-2010 and again for stint from the fall of 2011 to early 2012. Later in 2013, the role of Franco was recast with Roger Howarth playing the role until 2021.

The last several years have been difficult for James Franco to find work in Hollywood, following a 2019 sexual misconduct scandal and abuse of power allegations of inappropriate behavior towards aspiring actresses at his now-defunct acting school, Studio 4. Franco settled a lawsuit for $2.2 million in 2021, later admitting he slept with students and addressing issues surrounding power imbalances. The actor maintained he did not open his acting school to lure women for sexual advances. Since the scandal broke in 2019, James has only appeared in five films and mostly from international distributors.

Love, Lies & Frank is now available exclusively on Shortical here.

So, what do you think of James Franco starring in a microdrama? Did you enjoy him as General Hospital’s OG Franco? Let us know via the comment section below.
