More heartbreaking news for some daytime favorites this morning out of Soap Opera Digest. The publication and web platform are reporting that three performers have been axed as part of executive producer, Ken Corday’s cost-cutting measures to restructure the show.

So that means the Nadia Bjorlin (Chloe) Tamara Braun (who just came on the show replacing Natalia Livingston, as Taylor) and newcomer, Bren Foster (Quinn) have all been pink-slipped.   We will have more on this developing story later.

Just who will be left at DAYS under the new writing regime?  Let us know your thoughts.

I’m really angry ! What the hell Nadia love her ! I get the other Tamara & Bren NO need but Nadia dammit Mr Cordey

I totally agree they need to listen to the fans bring Nadia back !!! stupid and degrading for her talents to have her play a prostitute .The story lie with Quinn is pathetic and seems to be leading no where , not loving the show now 🙁 As for sexy i think he looks more of a sleaze .

im a big danloe fan and im going to nadia on dool so much days is making a huge mistake getting rid of chloe

Maybe they’ll have Chloe hook up with Philip and begin raising Parker jointly… IDK I think DOOL is just setting things up for the End of Days….

Get rid of Dario! He is awful!

I AGREE! All the hernandez clan have been useless- especially Rafe. Maybe with Tamar Braun leaving we can get EJAMI. But I love Chloe and Danloe. I wouldnt be surprised if Shawn Christian is next.

I love Tamara Braun as Taylor she can’t leave. i want her to stay on there. if you want to fire Carly, Vivian and Quinn and Chloe and Dario just do it but not my taylor i love her so much.

This ruins my day. I was loving the new storyline with sexy Bren and finally liked Nadia and then add in Viv and magic. Yesterday’s scenes with Quinn and Vivian would pure gold–I watched them at least three times. Not so much the rest of the show. I have not missed John or Marlena.

I agree–get rid of Dario. Never liked him.

Been watching since 1984, but these recent changes are really making me mad and have ruined the show. Bren the the sexiest actor to grace the TV in ages and they dump him??!! STUPID!

Not surprised Bren’s leaving, or Nadia either. And I already knew Louise was on her way out.

Melanie is still there??? :'(

Molly should probably start polishing up that resumé. She’s not a Horton or a Brady, so her head is eligible for Corday’s chopping block. And given Crystal Chappell’s ouster, and Shawn Christian’s likely ouster in the coming months, she shouldn’t get too comfortable. Nadia’s been there far longer, and she was apparently an easy release for them.

Why wouldn’t she be there? She’s a strong character and I think Chloe, Quinn, and Tamara take care of the six being fired.

How long until Shawn Christian is ousted? (Answer: until Jack wins back Jennifer. I give it a couple of months, tops.)

End of Days, indeed…

That is, a couple of months from Jack’s start date. So, what? November airdate ouster? Something like that?

Will miss these guys but at least South Africa has 4 yrs of Nadia, Bren and Tamara I still have 2 get used 2 her old role as Ava on Days . Luckily Bren still has 2 come on our screens but its amazing how caught up I am on thanks 2 YOUTUBE AND WATCHING VIDEOS OF THESE TALENTED INDIVIDUALS

I hope they have Chole go back to Philip and Parker.
Never did like Quinn or Taylor,I hope the Hernandezes family is next to go….
thank God we getting John Marlena and Jack back,Allie is coming back in Augest and hope Lucas will be with her to stay forever WooHoo

I hope Corday is setting up Days to bring back alot of charecters we love for so many years,I love this soap,The Hortons and Bradys John Black and Stafano and my dear dear sweet Tony….. and my fav: Bryan Dattilo/Lucas Horton

I am not going to miss any of the three, they did nothing for me.

You should miss chloe, if you are a true days fans. Sure she is no juila roberts in the acting department.

What in the heck is going on??? Don’t get rid of Chloe! You can lose Tamara & Bren. Why don’t you get rid of Melanie & Dario those two are so annoying, it’s like finger nails scraping a chalk board.

Are you out of your mine get rid melanie and dario! Gabi and chad need the boot!

I think you mean (mind) and no I’m not. Melanie & Dario, who has a slight eye problem which is distracting, have no chemistry and very little acting abilities. Chad & Gabi who get little air time can leave as well.

That is it!

I have no idea what the hell TPTB at Days are doing, but it’s one hell of a fire sale….They must be trying to cut the budget even more to show NBC how frugal they can be – BAD MOVE!!!

I am really sad, because I used to always find myself coming back to Days when I had strayed and still finding something I still recognized in the show – I’m not so sure that’s going to be the case any longer.

Enjoy your time on NBC while you can, Days of our Lives…I believe your contract is up in 2013…..

Umm. They’re getting ready to pay really big salaries to the people they’ve hired already. It’s not a fire sale it’s finally remembering who the people have been begging for since they were let go.

I very upset that crystal chappell , louise sorel, and bren foster were let go. Ken corday pick the wrong ones to fire, vivan is a very popular villian and soap star. Crystal chappell is a great actress and is popular as well. Bren foster could have a great time as the smooth talking pimp , him and E.j could have bump heads(days lost). They better keep Rafe, Dario, Melajnie, and Daniel. Please get rid of Chad and Gabi next. Bring back Austin, Carrie,Lucas, and mike horton.

I totally agree with you bren foster was rehired hope that’s true. Louise sorel I first saw her on the original STAR TREK she played a humanoid she was gorgeous….Her acting abilites are old school an on the mark! What a lose, what’s next Stefano? Weak players Gaby, Dario, Taylor, boring

Loved Tamara on GH and AMC. Make up a character for her on GH and bring her back.

Sympathize with actors because of job loss, but good move to remove characters Chloe, Taylor and Quinn.

Chloe story has gone from bad to worse. Chloe as a prostitute is horrible. This girl has a voice for Opera and she is reduced to a prostitute. What a waist of Nadia’s talent. At the very least the writers could have let her become a cabaret singer to “sing for her supper”. Prostitution plot is a huge turn off.

Tamara Braun never should have replaced Natalia Livingston in the first place. Also, writers should have let Taylor take the high road, stay true to Nicole and drive EJ out of his mind. Good get what you deserve ploy for EJ (although he deserves MUCH MUCH more).

Quinn is a twerp-creep. Mom, Vivian, needs to slap him down in every way possible: physically, as well as plot-wise. If more forethought had been given to his story, Vivian could have caught Quinn in one of her evil traps and become a hero, putting him in his place. That would have been good. Too little, too late. As for as Quinn/Chloe is concerned: terrible idea.

The only one I will miss is Nadia/Chloe.Losing the extremely talented and drop dead gorgeous Nadia is the worst thing that could happen to the show. When you have someone like Nadia on your show you don’t let her go. You write sl’s worthy of her talent and beauty. Wether it was her decision or hers, they have to find a way to bring her back and give us back the real Chloe. Chloe Lane: A veteran(12 years), very loved and famous character thanks to her portrayer….they can’t let her go:They’ll lose: Chloe’s ,Broe’s, Phloe’s, Danloe’s, Carloe’s, Luloe’s, Quinnloe’s fans. Huge fanbase. No other character on Daytime has such huge fanbase. They already lost most of them because of the damages caused by DH to the character. They have the chance to fix that with the new writers. Instead They let her go.She brings talent, beauty, charm and hottness. Their loss. They just shot yourselves in the foot.
Getting rid of Chloe isn ‘t listening to the fans,The fans have been begging to bring the real Chloe back not to let Chloe go.Nadia is paying for DH’s hatred and jealousy of her. It’s unfair.Chloe is a longtime fan favorite.HUGE HUGE mistake.

This is a very bad move. I can understand letting TB go, she has been all wrong for the part of Taylor from the beginning. She’s a fantastic role but not believable as the doe eyed innocent or the younger sister of Nicole when she looks significantly older than Ari Zucker. I also agree with Bren Foster, as his character brings nothing to the canvas but to let go of Nadia Bjorlin, a fan fav who has been on for many years and who has a HUGE following as being half of Danloe is a bad move. i’m not even really a fan of that couple but they were certainly more interesting than watching Daniel grow more and more boring with Ms. Snoozefest Jennifer Horton. If they couldn’t get Matt Ashford or Mark Valley back for Jack, Jennifer should’ve stayed off screen too. And letting go of Chrystal Chappell is ludicrous, when she came on the show had a very significant jump in ratings. She is a fantastic actress with a HUGE fanbase and instead of utilizing her, they have left her in the background for most of her stint and now when a storyline really starts happening for her she’s fired. Who they should be getting rid of is The Hernandez family: Rafe, Dario, and Gabi would have all been better choices to let go then CC or NB. That’s three right there, plus Taylor, and Quinn and Jennifer or Abby or both. Then Lucas should be brought back with John and Marlena as well as maybe Martha Maddiso as Belle or even bring back Brandon and they should’ve got Jacob Young from AMC since that’s ending as a recast for Philip, creating more storyline for him and Chloe, him and Melanie, and The Kiriakis’ vs the Dimeras when EJ is back to his old self instead of being a punk for Taylor since she’d be gone. Ken Corday has definitely let the wrong people go!

I AM SORRY TO SEE CHLOE GO TAYLOR THEY SHOULD HAVE KEPT THE FIRST GIRL THEY HAD PLAYING TAYLOR . THEY NEED TO BRING BACK BELLE AND SHAWN JOHN AND MARLENA.

Well they sure have given braun a meaty story so hopefully it will be good soap watching to see how they all go out. Rather lose a few actors as lose the whole show and this day and time they are getting rid of soaps entirely it seems

i hate cloe and dario and chad and abby gaby and melanie i hate they let leave days fire them why why why why why fire vivian and crystal chappell i love them why why ken corday

i wan tony and isabella the mother from brady and bella and sd mike carrie and austin and brandon and wendy and the best friend from samie and laura and bil lucas and the sister from marlena back to days pleas let them coming back

eric brother from samie back to days

I’m so pissed Nadia is fired! Why should she get the shaft because Higley wrote this HORRIBLE storyline. I was hoping for a fresh start when they brought a new guy in for her, but they made the guy a pimp! Ack! The character was a smart girl in high school when she came to the show. Higley just wrote her in a corner. You can be the show sex bomb without making her a bimbo whore.

If Corday did not want stories of prostitution and drug addiction, why did he let Higley START those stories? Doesn’t he have to know and approve of what’s coming? The character’s been on the show on and off since 1999, this just is wrong.

I understand Taylor and Quinn going. New characters, Taylor just was not working as a character in a story that’s not working. I like Tamara, it’s too bad the way it worked out.

Making Quinn a pimp….not sorry to see him go. If he wasn’t a pimp I could root for a Quinn/Chloe and give them a chance because I thought they could start fresh with a romantic story. At least thats what I was hoping. Higley had other ideas. Too bad because I like the actor. Just bad timing on his part to join the show before a shakeup

They made a huge mistake with the Taylor/Nicole/EJ story line. Taylor turning EJ into an honest dude is FREAKING BORING, BORING, BORING, BORING !!!

We watch because of all the crazy things EJ and his twisted family do. Nicole is best with EJ. I can’t believe what they attempted with that story line. It’s painful to watch Taylor. I actually stopped watching. I will watch when she is off. Nothing against her, but you could not have picked a worse person to play Taylor. The Taylor the had before was so pretty, classy and sweet. Then like that, they replace her with an actress that looks like a drug addict. She looks like she has an eating problem. Wrong, Wrong Wrong

What about the report at Daytime Confidential that Braun will return to GH this fall?

Never mind. I see it is a false rumor. Too bad, I would love to see her on GH again.

please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! keep bren foster Oh my god he is so darn handsome very charismatic ,i love looking at him You people must be coo coo lord he is such a wonderful addition to the show please try to keep him!! I love watching him and E J !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

CHANGE BRENS PART BUT PLEASE KEEP HIM !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Please bring back Natashia Livingston!!!!!!

Days Of Our Lives

Stephen Schnetzer Talks On His Return to Days of our Lives and Working with Susan Seaforth Hayes In Emotional Episodes

Who says you can’t go home again? In the case of Another World favorite, Stephen Schnetzer (ex-Cass Winthrop), he has proven that it is true, and you can go back to your soap roots and where it all started for you.

Last week on April 11th, Schnetzer, along with several other key returns were on set at Days of our Lives taping all-new episodes of the Peacock streaming soap opera, centering on the funeral of Doug Williams (the late Bill Hayes), and as part of the iconic soap opera’s 15,000th episode.

Stephen is reprising his first daytime role as Steve Olson, the brother of Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes). The last time Schnetzer appeared on a DAYS set was during his one and only run on the show from 1978 to 1980. Clearly, viewers will be in for some very emotional scenes when Steve returns to Salem to be there for his sister, Julie in her time of need. In real-life, Susan has been going through her own grief, having just lost Bill back on January 12th at the age of 98.

Photo: NBC

Michael Fairman TV caught up with Stephen during the 15K episode celebration ceremony, and during a break from taping the gut-wrenching funeral scenes, to get his thoughts on being part of these highly-anticipated moments that will air later this year in December. Here’s what he shared with us below.

What has this been like for you to work with Susan Seaforth Hayes after all of these years?

STEPHEN: She’s a dream and she’s so bright. We ran lines yesterday and we ended up just visiting for about 45 minutes and just catching up and telling tales about each other’s career. She even dropped off the autobiography that she and Bill did. And being back here at DAYS, every time I turn a corner, there’s another familiar face. When I was on the show 40 more years ago, a bunch of the guys, played softball on a team together. This is really a trip down memory lane as I knew it would be.

Photo: JPI

Taping Doug’s funeral must be a hard day for Susan. Are you checking in with her to help hold her up through this?

STEPHEN: I am and I’m checking in with Amy Shaughnessy (Susan’s assistant), and she’s holding her up more than anybody. We’re there for each other.

There will obviously be some major hankie-inducing moments when Steve comes back to Salem to console his sister.

STEPHEN: Oh, wait till you see it in December. It’s going to be great.

Were you surprised you got this call to come back to the show decades later?

STEPHEN: It was out of the blue! I was completely surprised. They should have called me decades ago! That’s what surprised me. When Another World went down, I thought I’d land somewhere else and it never happened. That was more of a surprise.

Photo: JPI

Cass is such an identifiable character for you. As well, you and Linda Dano (ex-Felicia Gallant) are so synonymous together as best friends Cass and Felicia from Another World. When fans heard you were reprising your role as Steve Olson on DAYS, they are now hoping there will be more of you on the show to come.

STEPHEN: Steven Olson is a real “Cassian “character. I cut my teeth on Steve Olson and that’s how Cass was introduced. He was kind of a roguish charmer. And then when the character stuck for Another World, they rehabilitated me, and turned me into one of the shows heroes. And that’s what would’ve happened if I stayed as Steve Olson probably. So, Steve is the ‘pre-Cass’, Cass.

Photo: JPI

As the story goes, you originally decided to leave Days of our Lives?

STEPHEN: I was never on contract. I was doing a day and a half a week and I got a Broadway play directed by Franco Zeffirelli starring Joan Plowright and Frank Finlay. I was able to it as I didn’t have to break a contract or anything. I cut loose and went back to New York for that.

How well did you get to know Bill Hayes during your first time around on DAYS?

STEPHEN: My first episode was with Bill and Susan, as her long lost brother coming into Salem. They were so good to me. They were so kind. I had been doing eight years of classical repertory theater, never been in front of a camera. I tell everybody, it took me longer than any other actor I’ve ever seen to get comfortable in front of a camera. And they were very supportive at that time in my career. Coming back to honor Bill now in 2024, and to be see Susan, I am just so happy to be here.

Looking forward to seeing the scenes between Stephen and Susan Seaforth Hayes come December and Doug’s funeral and surrounding episodes? Do you hope that DAYS might bring the character of Steve Olson back for a longer stay? Comment below.
