Carmen LoPorto given the ax by One Life to Live!

As many viewers saw during One Life to Live’s bravura Christmas episode last week,  there was a slightly older Sam in the Manning household, when the show recast the youngster with Patrick Gibbons Jr.  However, now comes word that Jack Manning played for over three and half years by actor, Carmen LoPorto, has been let-go to make way, we presume, for a SORAS’d Jack to mix it up with this dysfunctional family.

LoPorto made the announcement on his Facebook page stating: “I got a call this week that they SORAS’ed Jack and I am no longer a member of the Manning Family. It’s been fun and an experience that I will never forget.  Thank You All Again. Here’s to bigger and better things to come in 2011.”

There has been no official announcement made by the series as of yet, as to who will take over the eldest son of Todd Manning.  On-Air On-Soaps wishes Carmen well in all his next endeavors, as he did a great job as the chip-off-the-old block  young son of  Trevor St. John (Todd Manning).

This is a horrible decision! Carmen had more talent in his little finger
than some other ones I could mention. He played Todd’s son
perfectly! In fact, they should have used him more! I hate when they
do the aging kids syndrome. I love it when they can grow with the
show like Kristen, Eddie, and Kimberly McCollough. There’s not need
to age them when they have a perfectly wonderful actor in the role! As
I said, this is a horrible decision. Carmen played the perfect Jack and
he should not have been given the ax.

I was in shock when I read that One Life to Live made the decision to let Carmen go. Epic, epic, epic mistake. This young actor was such a find—a talented scene stealer who has been the PERFECT miniature Todd Manning—I thought for sure that they knew what they had in him and that he was a shoe-in to be one of those rare kids on soaps who got to ‘age naturally’ and who would be on the canvas for many years to come, along the lines of Kristen Alderson. They’re not going to find a fit that good again,… Read more »

Really gonna miss the old Jack, played by Carmen…look forward to seeing more of the new Sam. Talk about a scene stealer…He stole the show on the Christmas episode…and bravo to the writers of that episode…So cleverly written!

While the case has yet to be solved the film shares, “Though the search for the serial killer is still ongoing, Mari’s passionate dedication to giving her daughter and other forgotten women a voice, and the attention they deserve, has kept the case alive with hopes of a breakthrough soon.”

Mark Consuelos on the All My Children Primetime Reboot: “I Know They’re Going to Bring Back Some Fan Favorites”

On Friday, Mark Consuelos (Ex-Mateo, AMC) was a guest on the CBS afternoon series, The Talk, where he shared his excitement and some insight into the upcoming All My Children primetime reboot, Pine Valley, in development at ABC..

As previously reported, Mark and his wife Kelly Ripa (Ex-Hayley, AMC) are two of the executive producers on the project.

Consuelos shared on the reboot:All My Children was such a big part of my life and my wife’s life. And you know, I met my wife there obviously, had kids, became a young man on that show, and we got the opportunity to reboot the primetime version and the idea was brought to us, and we’re so excited.  Of all the things that we’ve ever announced that we’re going to do, this is one of the biggest responses we’ve got from our fans. They’re so excited.  It’s a big piece of TV that’s been missing for such a long time, and we’re going to bring it back.”

When avid soap fan and The Talk co-host, Sheryl Underwood, posed a major question to Consuelos that has been on longtime All My Children fans minds, she got a solid response from him.

Sheryl was trying to get some tea on who might appear in the reboot, when she asked, “Is it going to be the Cortlandts and the Warners? Is it going to be everybody?” Consuelos then responded with: “I know they’re going to bring back some fan favorites, and it will take place in Pine Valley, and I’m really, really excited.”

You can watch a portion of Mark’s virtual visit on The Talk below.

Then let us know, which AMC characters do you want to see back and on the primetime series, Pine Valley?  Share your thoughts in the comment section.

Lexi Ainsworth Teases Her Return to General Hospital

With her father Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) presumed dead (although viewers know he is very much alive with amnesia), it looks like Kristina is on her way back to Port Charles – which would be a welcome return to the role for Daytime Emmy winner Lexi Ainsworth.

Rumors began circulating on Inauguration day Wednesday, when Ainsworth shared a pic on her Instagram Story of her watching the ceremonies from a dressing room at Prospect Studios in Los Angeles, where GH is taped.

Later, after reports had surfaced on social media that Ainsworth might be returning to her signature role, the actress shared some of those on her Instagram Story as well, which was seen as her way of confirming she is back on the show.

Lexi has been recurring on General Hospital for the last several years, so there is no telling how long she will be on-screen this time.

While there has been no official confirmation from GH, chances are that if there is a funeral ahead for Sonny, Kristina of course would be there to mourn her father. Stay tuned.

So, excited that Lexi will be back on-air on GH? Comment below.
