CBS Cancels ‘All Rise’ Featuring Soap Alums Wilson Bethel and Marg Helgenberger

Photos: CBS

The cancellations continue and now comes word via CBS they have chosen not to renew the legal courtroom drama, All Rise.

The series aired for two seasons and featured in its ensemble cast, former The Young and the Restless star, Wilson Bethel (Ex-Ryder) and former Ryan’s Hope favorite, Marg Helgenberger (Ex-Siobhan).

The final episode will air on Monday, May 24th.

All Rise has also seen plenty of drama behind the scenes this year when the All Rise creator and showrunner, Greg Spottiswood was ousted amid allegations of unprofessional conduct in the series’ writers room where he offered up offensive and racially insensitive language.

Since his departure, Dee Harris-Lawrence had served as the one and only showrunner for the series.

So, did you enjoy All Rise? Where do you hope Wilson and Marg turn up next? Comment below.

Not a good year for the “woke” lawyer shows, apparently. ABC also dropped the ax on their show “For Life”. Neither show was my favorite, but there are far worse things on both networks they could have cancelled instead. And speaking of ABC and axes dropping…. why the Hell haven’t they mentioned anything about a General Hospital renewal yet? This is making a Devil slightly nervous. Though at this point, I can’t possibly see how the network would NOT want to go for the “bragging rights” of keeping a show on the air for 60 years. Theoretically that keeps GH… Read more »

With all of the behind the scenes crap that happened and the pandemic screwing with when the episodes would air, this is not surprising. I’m just saddened by the news.

The show was promising the first season, but the second season suffered. I watch TV to be entertained, and the COVID impact on the show was not entertaining. I know they tried to be realistic, but it lost its focus.

Dynasty

Pej Vahdat Joins the Cast of ‘Dynasty’ as Dex

CW’s Dynasty is beefing up its cast with the news that Pej Vahdat has been cast in the role of “Dex”.

As Dynasty fans know, the character of Dex Dexter was originally played in 1983 through1989 by the late Michael Nader in the ABC version of the primetime soap opera.

Now in the 2022 version, Vahdat’s Dex is said to be a ‘suave, handsome, charming hedge fund manager.’  According to Deadline, Dex has a chance encounter with Alexis (Elaine Hendrix) which will change her life in more ways than one.

Joan Collins, the original Alexis Carrington and Michael Nader made quite the on-screen pair on the original Dynasty.

If Vahdat looks familiar you may have seen him on: Showtime’s City on a Hill,  FX’s The Old Man, and recurring roles on Empire, The Village, Bones and Shameless.

The role of Dex is said to be “heavily recurring”.  No word yet on when he will first be seen in the role. Stay tuned.

So, what do you think about Pej as CW Dynasty’s new Dex? Comment below.

B&B’s Katherine Kelly Lang and Ashley Jones Reveal They Want Brooke & Bridget To Deal with Their Shared Past with Deacon

Katherine Kelly Lang (Brooke) of The Bold and the Beautiful was last Friday’s guest on BOLD Live, and during her interview with B&B supervising producer and host, Casey Kasprzyk, none other than Ashley Jones (Bridget) made a surprise appearance.

Once Jones arrived on the livestream (late in the episode), the discussion turned to wishing that Brooke and Bridget would get the opportunity to deal with the fallout from years ago between mother and daughter.

If fans recall, Bridget was married to Deacon (Sean Kanan), and then he had an affair with Brooke, and then Brooke became pregnant with Hope.

On BOLD Live, Lang said, “There is so much good story there.”  She then added, “I honestly feel Brooke and Bridget never dealt with that. It’s honestly something that was pushed down.”

Ashley shared on the current state of B&B’s episodes: “This is the juiciest the shows been in a long time.”  And on Brooke/Deacon/Bridget, Ashley concurred with Kelly: “Oh. 100% … they never dealt with it.”

Watch BOLD Live with Katherine Kelly Lang and special guest Ashley Jones below.

Then let us know, would you like to see Bridget return and in-turn bring with her some meaty scenes between mother and daughter, especially given Brooke’s temptation with the bottle again? Share your thoughts in the comment section.
