Why do I get the impression a time jump is coming? We’re less than a month away from the Nurses Ball and Lucy is still in hiding. Could they possibly hold a ball without the legendary hostess? There’s also the story of how they’ll handle Epiphany’s departure. We know Milo is coming back for that. Wouldn’t be surprised to have a Robin sighting, too. My guess is they find a way to get Lucy back among the living in PC, have a moving tribute to Epiphany and then a “two months later” banner appears to bring us to the Nurses… Read more »

Now that Anna & Felicia managed to “scare” that idiot deputy mayor into confessing her role in the “shooting”/kidnapping of Lucy, I would guess that Lucy & Val can stop pretending to be dead, and she’ll be able to have her “wardrobe malfunctions” at the Nurses Ball right on schedule.

I think Lucy will sneak away, upsetting Anna and Val’s whole plan to catch old dad at his worst. Please explain to me Holly’s part in all this?

I don’t think it’s unusual for them to cram a lot about the NB prep into the two weeks prior to the Ball. Lucy is all of a sudden seen doing nothing but bugging people to be in the show and then zip-zap-zot!, there it is!

Yes, Steve—-I like your comment. There’s a chance that a new Epiphany will be introduced—Perhaps, in a way, this could be a tribute to Sonya( RIP). I can’t see the Nurses’ Ball taking place without Lucy—-so, her return could be in the works.
A time jump?—-well, it’s already started. Ace is supposedly not even a month old—-yet, by the way he was “gumming” his binky ( holding it, no less), I’d say he’s already teething. Super Baby!!

Looking forward to seeing her and to seeing what the Nurses Ball has in store for us.

Of course, the saddest thing of all will be that this means dealing with the death of Epiphany.

And then, secondary to that will be seeing which actor/actresses they can get to come back to revive their roles as nurses for the Ball. Haven’t seen Felix, Amy, or any of the other nurses (other than Elizabeth, of course) in forever.

GH EP Frank Valentini On Taping the Sonya Eddy Tribute Episode: “It Was an Extraordinary Script, and It Was a Labor of Love That Day”

This week on General Hospital, the ABC daytime dramas series kicks off its 60th anniversary set of episodes, with what is sure to be the most emotional – the tribute episode for the late Sonya Eddy in honor of her beloved GH character, Epiphany Johnson.

GH’s executive producer spoke with Soap Opera Digest (in their latest issue on newsstands now), about how the show decided to handle the delicate subject of a real-life cast member’s passing and connect it to the story on the canvas of the soap opera.

In conjunction with GH co-head writers, Chris Van Etten and Dan O’Connor, the trio decided that if they weren’t ever going to be able to see Sonya as Epiphany again, that there was no way they were going to ever recast the role.  Valentini shared: “We decided it was important to honor not only Sonya, but Epiphany and we wanted to dedicate a full entire episode all about that.”

The EP went on to give praise to his writers, and the cast for their performances when taping the episode: “I think everyone was touched by what the writer’s wrote. It was an extraordinary script and it was a labor of love that day in honor of Sonya, who was so incredibly loved by everybody in the cast and  crew.

The way the death of Epiphany is structured on the airshows is key also to the upcoming Nurses’ Ball episodes set to air the following week. Frank expressed: “Epiphany is a very pivotal person in the Nurses’ Ball, so it’s almost like a part two (of her tribute).

The Sonya Eddy tribute episode airs Wednesday March 29th.
