Christine Baranksi Breaks Silence On Passing Of Husband & AMC Favorite Matthew Cowles!

20
Great actor! Great character!! Greatly missed!!!
My thoughts and prayers go out to Christine Baranski and her family on this tough loss. She is a brilliant actress and singer that I have enjoyed ever seeing her on Cybill.
i agree this is where i first met christine, and she was hilarious on cybill, and have enjoyed her in so many other things as well
My condolences to her. Loved to hate him as Billy Clyde 🙂 he was amazing in that role.
I didn’t read any “thoughts” here on her husband. Did I miss something???
Thank you, nor did I. She spoke in general terms.
Maybe it’s too tender and it’s too personal for her to speak of. I have to respect that about her. I remember reading years ago that she said her husband Malcolm was one of the best and most underrated actors of our time. I agreed then, and I agree now.
I always loved her–and Malcolm Cowley as Billy Clyde Tuggell was pure genius. My favorite soap opera villain of all time.
I was thinking the same thing. She didn’t even mention him at all.
If this was “breaking her silence,” she STILL must not have anything to say.
I think what she must be feeling is too much to put into words. Of course she has a lot to say but would rather talk about publicly. Good for her.
Harry…my post was in reference to Michael’s question:” Glad to finally hear from Christine and her thoughts on the late Matthew Cowles?” and his statement in his heading about her “breaking her silence. That’s what Cindy and SZima are referring to as well. But yes, you’re probably right…she didn’t share thoughts and she didn’t really break her silence on his passing because perhaps she’d rather keep them private.
Classy lady, I commend her integrity of expression.
I loved his character very much. And enjoy The Good Wife also. Very sorry for the loss. Can’t wait to see Christine in her new movie.
I feel so sorry for her. But she said as close to nothing as possible.
aahh well, guess she sees it as none of our business / her private feelings ..
sorry for her great loss ..
Seems to be very generic.
I love Christine, she is very classy. They seem to be a very private family which is certainly OK.
I agree, they clearly had a long, happy and successful marriage, everyone handles grief differently, and in my personal experience in dealing with grief, many people don’t respect the individual’s grieving process very much and many times add to it by being unkind and putting expectations on what is a personal and private experience. Christine acknowledged it, and no one should expect more.
I loved him as Billy Clyde, he always mad me laugh and mad at the same time, lol. I had no idea he was married to Christine! She is another actor I have always loved and so versatile. What a wonderful life they must have had together. Good he has her work to keep her busy, but my thoughts are with her and may Matthew RIP. I know he is looking after her still!
correction **made me” no mad me (sorry bout that)
I miss Mathew Cowels. too. I can still see in the 1980’s with that hat with the big feather in it. He was priceless!!!
