CM Punk Returns to ‘Monday Night Raw’ For First Time In Nearly 10 Years: “I’m Not Here to Make Friends, I’m Here to Make Money”
After his shocking and record-breaking return on Saturday to the WWE during the conclusion of Survivor Series War Games on Peacock, CM Punk made his first official appearance in the ring on Monday Night Raw. That appearance would be to address the crowd and the WWE Universe, and had everyone on social media and around the world glued to their screens to find out what the polarizing Punk would have to say for himself.
The producers of RAW dragged out this highly-anticipated moment till the very last eight and half plus minutes of a three-hour episode on USA Network. The questions on everybody’s minds were: would Punk address his dismissal and exit from AEW? (Obviously not, due to legal issues), How would he explain his decision to return to the WWE, a place he left not on good terms back in 2014? Would we be getting a babyface or heel Punk, or a mixture of both?
When Punk grabbed the mic to talk, he announced that he’s “home”. Punk, ‘The Voice of the Voiceless’, also referenced Triple H’s “hell has frozen over” tweet that was posted on X immediately after Punk shocked the world with his comeback on Saturday in Chicago (his hometown), saying that statement was true because he was standing in a WWE ring with a live microphone.

As the fans chanted CM Punk, he told the WWE Universe he appreciated the fans for never forgetting him and expressed his “love” for that. In a nod to Paul Heyman (who is the special counsel to Roman Reigns and who tagged him as the “Wise Man”), Punk said of his exit nearly ten years go, that he never wanted to leave in the first place, but a “wise man” once told him that “to get what I needed, I needed to leave and come back.”
In addition, there were numerous chants for Punk’s wife, wrestler AJ Lee, he said she is doing “fabulous” and “sends her regards”.

Punk concluded his promo by saying that he was welcomed with open arms and there were hugs and even some kisses in the locker room and backstage, when he saw everyone again, but he noted “well, almost everyone.” That reference was to Seth Rollins, who clearly, they are building a feud with Punk. Rollins has been on both Survivor Series and in a house show the next day in Peoria, Illinois going postal over Punk’s return.
In the end, as he thanked everyone, he turned to the camera and looked it dead in the eye and said “I’m not here to make friends, I’m here to make money!” You can watch the full segment with Punk from RAW below.
Now let us know, were you disappointed by the in-ring promo Punk cut? Were you hoping for something more shocking? Do you think all of this is to set up a massive heel turn on the fans? Share your thoughts via the comment section below.
