Fans of The Young and the Restless were in for a big shocker. when at the end of today’s November 14th episode, it is revealed that Jordan Howard (Colleen Zenk) and Ian Ward (Ray Wise) are back and apparently working together with criminal intent and to ruin the lives of Sharon (Sharon Case) and Phyllis (Michelle Stafford), et al.

As viewers first were clued-in on yesterday’s 13,000th episode of Y&R, Sharon was looking for her phone, while Phyllis was getting text message after text message from her, meaning it couldn’t have been Sharon sending the messages. Ultimately, Sharon got in her car and Phyllis was in hers and there was a car crash. Phyllis was hurt badly needing medical attention.

This is juxtaposed with the end of today’s episode where we see Jordan meeting up with Ian in a hotel room and telling him everything went according to plan. How Jordan and Ian are out of prison and on the loose is yet to be revealed and what their ultimate plan is here and for whom? Viewers will recall that Ray raised Sharon’s daughter Mariah (Camryn Grimes) in his cult, and she never even knew she had given birth to Cassie’s twin till years later.

Wise first joined Y&R in 2014 as the former cult leader, and was last seen on Y&R back in 2016. During his initial run, Wise won a Daytime Emmy for his performance in the Guest Actor in a Daytime Drama Series category in 2015. Ray is also known for his soap work on Love of Life as Jamie Rollins and, of course, in primetime’s Twin Peaks as Leland Palmer. As for Colleen Zenk, the beloved As the World Turns favorite (where she played Barbara Ryan), made her shocking arrival to The Young and the Restless in November of 2023 and had been on and off-screen through June of 2024 when Jordan finally went to prison.

In statements on the bombshell returns, Josh Griffith (EP and head writer) shared with Deadline, “The pairing of Ian Ward and Aunt Jordan will be a double dose of danger. The residents of Genoa City should be on high alert thanks to this intriguing alliance. As a company, we are thrilled to welcome back the talented, Ray Wise and Colleen Zenk to the canvas.”

Ray Wise said of his Y&R comeback, “It’s wonderful to be back on The Young and the Restless. It feels like home. I had a great time when I last appeared on the show and am having an even better time now with the talented, Colleen Zenk. I could not have asked for a better partner in crime and it’s so good to see both Eric Braeden and Melody Thomas Scott again. I look forward to the mischievous Ian Ward causing more havoc in Genoa City. Stay tuned, it’s going to be a whole lot of fun.”

Meanwhile, Zenk summed it up, “I’m so happy to return to Y&R surrounding the show’s 13,000th episode and be paired with the amazing, Ray Wise. Jordan is lucky enough to have Ian Ward by her side and she settles some unfinished business while also finding the time to take on some new adversaries as well.”

What did you think about the ending of today’s Y&R and the reveal that Jordan and Ian are working together? What do you think they are doing to Sharon? Gaslighting her? How does this play into their plans to exact revenge on the Newmans and company and their common enemies? Share your thoughts via the comment section below.

Great twist, but why target Sharon, Phyllis. Daniel and Heather? Hmmmmm???

I thought that was odd too, makes no sense, yet!

It definitely is an interesting pairing…

With regards to Ian Ward, his cult was where Nikki and Paul (Heather’s father) were together and conceived Dylan, and then Mariah was in his cult who is Sharon’s twin daughter to Cassie.

As for Jordan, that’s much more recent history with Nikki and Victor.

I think that the common thread is Nikki, and I’m wondering if this duo has been poisoning Sharon with all of these hallucinations.

Basically it is cult leader meets psycho to terrorize all of Genoa City.

Just wait, it will soon. It’s great to see them back on Y&R.

Oh, Violet—it’s more than odd. It’s dumb. Just can’t get rid of these people. However, Ian has always had a bone to pick with Paul, Heather’s dad. And, Mariah was part of his cult. It kind of makes sense in a very stupid way, I guess. I am sick of this storyline—-instead of cutting it short, they’re expanding the agony.

Celia, I feel as you do, just no method to this madness and they are the last two I ever expected to be involved with Sharon’s SL. Maybe just a diversion, because I bet they are back for Nicki and Victor. It wouldn’t hurt these two to get a little of their own medicine. Even Nicki,is getting like her husband sqealing with delight over their coup in taking the business away from Lily, so she can run it….right into the ground probably!

Never so disappointed…so disappointed. That’s the best Griffith could do??? Very disappointing. How sad.

You always complain. Shoo away with you.

I do not always complain. I just want to see the show as good as it once was. And I am not alone on the boards. I would love to see the show flourish again, but it seems every time it starts getting better, Josh Griffith does something to mess things up. He’s not Bill Bell, not even close. Ratings continue to tank. Yes, Y&R got renewed, but I’m fearful it’s days are numbered if we keep kicking the can down the road. Sorry if it bothers you.

He’s better then Bill Bell IMO. That man was OVERHYPED.

WOW….you actually think that Josh Griffith is BETTER than Bill Bell, who created the show and made it an institution??? Bell breathed life into all of the characters in this show, while Griffith makes them all cartoon characters. Learn your history, then get back to us.

You must be trolling, ’cause whew that’s an OPINION.

I think the writers had everyone intrigued good girl Sharon gone bad loved the storyline hadn’t watched y&r in years because of repetitive writing this was such a let down best to let Sharon be accountable she would bounce back do some time in psy hospital or something the act of killing heather not intended anyways I guess I will just skip this story on my dial again such a let down

Oh, this is going to be F U N!!!

I agree. It’s good to see them both back in GC.

I’m not coming back this is nuts your ruining a character but I have always thought someone was messing with Sharon’s drugs but I don’t care anymore it worked nobody wants this and both her and Phyllis Lordy not again

I’m so over the same crap!

Well, I’m glad these two despicable people are glad to be back, as their devious, former selves. They better watch out, because I thing Victor has the old dungeon still in the house where he kept his ex- wife’s lover and I bet the rats have gotten tastier over the years.

Oh, Violet…your comment has made my day. LOL

Thank You.

You are more than welcome, but I’m afraid that’s where Victor may land sooner than later, after what he’s even doing to all these people lately.

I can’t instill victor, Nicki, Claire, Cole see Jordan back in town. What a episode that will be. And then there is Ian Ward.

I am so forward to see what Aunt Jordan does this time…and mixed up with Ian Ward is going to be interesting to see what these two villains can do!

Yes, I can’t wait to see what happens.

It would be interesting if Claire is not as white bread as she seems and has been in cahoots with Jordan and Ian. Wait, does this mean the great Victor Newman is not in the know as he thinks??!!

Claire, admittedly, became too wise too soon. However, Jordan needs to go away. I don’t know Ian. As said before, things have gotten too dark for me. Give Jack and family a break. Nikki needs to stand up to Victor. So exhausted by this business chess game!

Wow this was a shocker – esp Ian Ward
Love Ray Wise

What a great actor. Great to see him back in GC & what devious plans he has up his sleeve.

Makes me want to stop watching.

OK…you know what: At this point, watching Sharon cry (over and over again) has gotten OLD!!!!! I’m sorry, but…I did not cry that much when my mom passed away back in early November of 2003. And…later on, I did not cry that much when my dad passed away in early May of 2017. And believe me when I tell you that I loved both of my parents dearly…my mom in particular. My Bottom Line: If Sharon does any more crying, she’ll end up flooding Genoa City!!!!! Oh. Make. It. Stop.

I can’t stand it, don’t want these two back. How many times does a person break out of jail? An weren’t the Newman’s notified when it happened? Give it a rest.

Of course they should have been notified, if only for their own protection.

I sense another baby-abduction storyline– better watch out, Mariah.

Don’t even want to watch it. Jordan and Victor are almost unredeemable at this point! Please bring something happy beyond a quick wedding.

In a moment that brought joy to those in attendance, A and Marcy both expressed a sincere hope and desire that one day they can work together again. Martinez explained, “There’s more avenues to pursue now than there have ever been. I would say just keep a good thought for it. I’ve been holding it for decades, and I fully intend to do whatever I can to make it happen. We’re engaged in trying to make it happen. And you know, we’ll see. I know we both want to do it.” Marcy simply nodded and responded “Amen.”

There is definitely a shake-up going down at the writing team at Peacock’s Days of Our Lives. Now, the long-running soap opera has confirmed, what has been previously reported, that current General Hospital breakdown writer, Ryan Quan is heading back to his old stomping grounds in Salem. This time as the series co-head writer.

The appointment of Quan comes with the official news that current co-head writer, Paula Cwikly, who was previously rumored to be departing the series, is not. She is staying with the soap opera and transitioning to a consultant role with the show. Now, Quan will join current co-head writer, Jeanne Marie Ford to steer the ship for the characters on the canvas.

On Wednesday, TV Insider, reported the official confirmation and that Quan will return to DAYS next month in July. In a statement to the outlet, executive producer, Ken Corday expressed, ‘We are lucky to have Ryan back in the fold. There are very few people who have such a deep knowledge and understanding of our show’s history. Stay tuned!”

THE FUTURE OF DAYS OF OUR LIVES

Since Days of our Lives unusual production schedule tapes ten-months ahead of air, the new creative team’s vision led by Quan and Jeanne Marie Ford are not expected to stream on Peacock until mid-2027.

Days of Our Lives is currently renewed through its 63rd season. The former NBC soap opera which transitioned to Peacock in September of 2022, celebrate its 60th anniversary in November of 2025.

The writing regime change comes after NBCUniversal Media Chairman Matt Strauss revealed that Peacock is expected to turn a profit for the first time in the current quarter, punctuating their investment with the enduring soap opera on its platform.

As for Quan, his knowledge of Salem is tremendous. Ryan joined Days of Our Lives as a writer’s assistant in 2007 after some time over at Passions. He then spent two decades and held every position on the writing team where he previously served as co-head writer from 2016-17 alongside Dena Higley.

Later, when Ron Carlivati took over as head writer for 7 years in 2017, Quan became his right-hand man and main story consultant for his deep knowledge of the history and the legacy of the show. After Carlivati exited the show in 2024, General Hospital hired Quan in 2025.

So, what do you think about DAYS making it official with Ryan Quan as the new co-head writer of the series alongside Jeanne Marie Ford. What do you think about the fact we won’t see the changes on-screen till 2027? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

In a surprise move, coming a week after ABC unveiled its 2026-2027 fall television schedule, Grey’s Anatomy is getting a new spinoff co-created by the original series’ creator/executive producer Shonda Rhimes.

The new untitled medical drama will be written and executive produced by Rhimes and Grey’s Anatomy showrunner/executive producer Meg Marinis under the Shondaland and 20th Television umbrella. In addition, long-running ‘Grey’s’ star Ellen Pompeo will also serve as an EP of the spinoff.

The upcoming new series will debut midseason in 2027. This will be the first of Grey’s franchise not set in urban city or West Coast locale. According to Deadline, the new “edgy drama is about a team at a rural West Texas medical center — the last chance for care before miles of nowhere.”

Photo: ABC

In a statement, Marinis shared, “I am incredibly excited to expand the Grey’s Anatomy universe. This opportunity will bring new characters and stories to life that will embody the same heart, emotion and connection audiences have loved from Grey’s for more than two decades — all set in my home state of Texas. I am so grateful to Shonda Rhimes for creating this dynamic world and feel so fortunate that I get to be a part of it.”

A NEW GROUP OF DOCTORS IN RURAL TEXAS

The Texas spinoff will feature a a new group of doctors, but there will be some connection to the OG Grey’s Anatomy and possibly to Debbie Allen’s character of Catherine Fox. The amount of episodes in the series order has not yet been determined. Previous Grey’s Anatomy spinoffs were the defunct Station 19 and Private Practice.

Previously, Grey’s Anatomy was renewed for its upcoming 23rd season while the amount of episodes is unclear.  The last two seasons the series produced 18 episodes.

It should also be noted, Grey’s Anatomy and the Texas spinoff would likely share a time period, which requires limited-run orders for both with Grey’s premiering in the fall, followed by the spinoff on the midseason programming block.

So, what do you think about a Texas spinoff of Grey’s Anatomy coming in 2027? Who would you like to see from daytime or primetime as some of the featured roles as new doctors? Put on your casting directors hat and let us know via the comment section below.
