Now here’s what we are talking about!  This is fantastic news that we all suspected was in the works from last month’s appearance by Josh Duhamel on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. It started when Ellen posed the question if Josh was coming back to All My Children to reprise the role (he won his Daytime Emmy for) of Leo du Pres, former loverboy of Greenlee Smythe played by Rebecca Budig.

Well, exclusively today EW.com has revealed it is confirmed that Duhamel will be back in one, or maybe two episodes reprising the role of Leo this coming August.   And in doing so, Duhamel comes home and pays homage to where he got his break in show business.

In story, if you recall, du Pres supposed died in 2003 falling over a waterfall. His body, however, was never found — which left open the possibility that his character would return to Pine Valley.

Duhamel was nominated for four Daytime Emmy awards for his time on AMC; he won for outstanding supporting actor in 2002.  So what do you think of a Josh brief return before we say our goodbyes to the folks in P.V?  Let us know!

This has me soooo curious about where they’d go with the story now, since Greenlee & Ryan aren’t actually married & Leo and Greenlee were touted as the love of each other’s lives before the show went with Ryan/Greenlee. And I love Josh, so this should be pretty cool too see!

I’m happy that “Leo” is coming back….but it’s all so bittersweet…….I don’t want the show to end…….so bringing these veteran actors back to say goodbye, is sad to say the least.

I always wanted them to do this but two episodes isn’t nearly enough to explain why he’s been gone for so long and see him properly reunite with his family.
I have waited too long for Greenleo reunion to have them ruin this.
Hopefully things work out

I wish he could do more than just “one maybe two episodes”, but I’ll take anything at htis point, so long as I get to see him come back for “Greenlee”! It would be a total waste if one of AMC’s greatest couples EVER weren’t reunited for good! In other words, they have to ride off into the Pine Valley sunset together!!! (It will be well worth the long wait of nine years just to see the absolutely AMAZING chemistry between Josh and Rebecca again! They just radiated heat off the screen!) Actually, they should do a film together. Really,… Read more »

Even if all Leo does is return to give Greenlee closure or perhaps intervene secretly on her behalf somehow, I will be happy. I’ve missed Leo. And I will miss ALL MY CHILDREN. As I was with GUIDING LIGHT and AS THE WORLD TURNS, and am with ONE LIFE TO LIVE, I remain stunned this legacy program is about to end. Although it has not been as compelling to me in recent years, overall this serial (AMC, I mean) has been very good for its run.
