Courtney Grosbeck Cast As B&B's Coco Spectra!

Courtesy/IMDB
Another Spectra is coming on the canvas of The Bold and the Beautiful!
After the surprise twist that the next generation of the Spectra clan has been integrated into the story for B&B’s upcoming 30th anniversary season, comes word via Soap Opera Digest that actress Courtney Grosbeck has been cast in the role of Coco Spectra.
Just who is Coco? She is the teen sister of Sally Spectra played by Courtney Hope.
Grosbeck began filming episodes of the CBS sudser and will make her debut on-air in February.
Courtney’s previous primetime credits include: Parenthood and Modern Family.
What do you think about another new Spectra being added into the mix? Comment below.
Other than the ridiculous name– the more Spectras the merrier — honestly CoCo– sounds like a breakfast ceral
Obviously you never hear of the fabulous Coco Channel…”Coco” Chanel was a French fashion designer and businesswoman. She was the founder and namesake of the Chanel brand. So the name falls into play.
I heard of “Coco” Chanel– but that wasn’t her real name– her real name was Gabrielle Bonheur– adopting a nick name or giving yourself a persona for business is one thing, but naming your child Coco on purpose is quite another— I get this is a soap about designers and if they wanted a character name that reflected a fashion designer, instead of calling her Coco– I would have went with Chanel Spectra– sounds classier and doesn’t remind one of coco puffs.
Who are their parents?
Do not like this storyline. at all.
The new Sally Spectra overacts. I think it was foolish to try and recreate a storyline that cannot be repeated.
I watched the show the other day while at home, and after not watching for a long while, how stupid and over the top.
I love it! I think it’s fun and lively…and the budding romance between Sally and Thomas Forrester should be as well!
Oh Dear…another blast from the past for a newer B&B watcher. Since I seem to have been going in circles with the two main “love” triangles, moor the last couple of years, how is Spectra going to help out.? Never heard of them until the last few days.
I’m relatively new to the show too but it seems the Spectra’s were a competing fashion house run by Sally Spectra years ago…from what I gather she was loud and boisterous and fun…a “character” who tried to give the Forrester Creations a run for their money…
In real life I believe the actress died but last week the character (the older Sally Spectre who would probably be in her 70s…a contemporary of Eric) was living the high life on some island. In comes her namesake niece…aka Sally Spectra who is going to try to revitalize the Spectra fashion house. As we can see she’s also a livewire “character” who is more of a funky, fun chick with cool almost Betsy Johnson sensibilities which runs directly opposite to Steffie’s glamorous more upscale look and the Forresters’s more chi-chi upscale fashion house.
I haven’t caught up yet…I’m a couple of days behind so maybe this happened already…but it seems like there will be one or two things happening: a romance between Sally and Thomas Forrester and/or he’ll join their design house and compete with his own family since he feels he was passed over in the company.
Could be a fun story…
Thanks for the overview. It can be just too-too at Forester Creations and surrounds. Just so funky Sally stays out of “live wired” rooms, etc., with Steffy…ala Ivy.
LOL…in Steffie’s defense I don’t think she meant to electrocute her…but I guess when you’re the one being zapped that doesn’t really matter!
Looks like there will be some girl fights starting with the one Sally caused at the restaurant. She’s waaaay over the top but then again so was Delia and David from OLTL…seems like soaps like to throw a little comic relief into the mix. Whether it works depends on the likeability of the “out of the box” character…
Wait B&B is adding more characters to a show that has a lot of actors who do not see any time lately. Should they be adding a slew of new generation of characters to a show that struggles to give the actors they do have any air time?
Totally agree!
Will they replace the fading Avant family??
My thoughts too.
I agree. Just hope they stop the tired story line of evil Quinn. Thinking the Spectra’s will add a little humor to the failing love triangles. Sick of the Ridge and Quinn BS, There needs to be one stable relationship. Eric and Quinn should be the stable head of this dysfunctional show. Only hoping the swapping is over. So if it takes some new blood, give it a chance. 🙂
She is pretty. Can she act? Good luck.
She played the eldest daughter and big sister to the son with autism on Parenthood on NBC she acts just fine
anything that takes the focus off Ridge and Quinn and the Liam/Wyatt/Steffy triange the better
Can’t help but think of Spectra in James Bond. Any connection. 😉
I wasn’t around in the original Sally days, but kept up on all soap’s storylines somewhat via the soap mags back then and occasional view when something big was happening.I’m really liking this fresh infusion of characters right now. I think the casting for Sally Jr., Saul and Shirley could not be more spot on! Just got of glimpse of the Darlita character and she seems kinda of blah, but will see what she can do. Obviously Darlene Conley was tailor made for the Sally V.1. The fake remotes with ‘her’ on an island is beyond hokey! Not in the least believable. They should have had Ms. Conley’s passing in the Sally storyline when the clan came on board. That would help us understand Sally V.2’s fire and motivation to revive the fashion house. Love her and Thomas together, finally he seems to have found a great on- screen match! Whatever they do, just don’t put Sally, Darlita or the incoming Coco to be in any triangles with Liam and Wyatt!!
I applaud B&B’s consideration of history and reviving a good counterpoint to what has become very bland goings on at Forrester. I just fear no one will be able to bring to the proceedings what Darlene Conley did as Sally Spectra.
Why are they bringing on all these newbies? How long has it been since we saw Caroline Spencer? I can’t wait to see her reaction to Brook & Ridge getting engaged. Remember how Brook use to snap her fingers and say she could get him back at anytime. I want Caroline back just in time for Ridge to dump Brook yet again for Quinn this time.
Sure miss Darlene Conley- RIP- not sure leaving Sally alive on an island was a great idea. That said the young actress playing this generation’s Sally is doing a great job. While not imitating Sally it seems she has done her homework- and even some of her intonations can be pictured with the original (and inimitable) Sally saying things just the same way.
I was so sick of the ongoing stories that this change has been quite welcome. And if it actually gives Thomas a storyline all the better. I had been skipping B & B for the most part the last few months- tho’ I do like Quinn- now I’m kind of intrigued.
And I liked the Avants for the most part- the ball was just dropped there…
I would switch the avants for the Spectras anyday. They are the fabric of the show and i could not be more trilled that they are back. I say good bye Rick Maya Nicole Sashe Zende and Ivy and hello Spectras
RJ and CoCo?!?!?!
Yes; I think RJ and CoCo is probably on the horizon. They can double with Thomas and Sally!
I have watched this show from the very beginning. Within the year after Darlene Conley passed away I remember the episode where her death was announced by Eric and Stephanie. Now the character is alive? This is a ridiculous storyline. Bring us something original!

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).
Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.
Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON
Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”
Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).
Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.
“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?
During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.
Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.
You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.
Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.
