Nicolas Trevino (Juan Pablo Di Pace) was one bad dude on TNT’s Dallas, and if the show had not been unceremoniously dumped by the cable network, we would have learned if he would have ever been caught! However, the “Save Dallas” campaign rages on, so hopefully the legendary soap will find another home in the near future.

In the meantime, actor Juan Pablo Di Pace will go from bad guy to good guy playing none other than Jesus in the upcoming NBC mini-series A.D.!  The 12-episode drama is in production now and is slated for an Easter 2015 and will begin on Sunday, April 5 on NBC.  A.D. is NBC’s sequel to The Bible produced by Mark Burnett and Roma Downy, and the story will take place after the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. Upon the casting news breaking, Juan Pablo tweeted, “Exciting announcement indeed! “Humbled and happy to be playing HIM!

The Argentine-born star has also appeared in the 2008 film Mamma Mia!.  He has lived in Spain, Italy, and England, and studied theatre at the London Studio Centre.

What do you think of Di Pace cast as Jesus? Did you enjoy him as baddie Nicolas on Dallas?  Share your thoughts below!

Also, I must say that I miss Dallas so much and hope and pray that it will be picked up by another network soon. I have watched the show since the beginning and I truly loved it. The new series and the new actors are amazing and has brought the story up to date, however there is so much more to tell. I am so unhappy about the cliffhangers we were… Read more »
