Due soap opera shockers never cease!  Are we all falling off of our chairs right now?  Um, you betcha.  EW.com revealed exclusively this afternoon that David Hasselhoff is returning to the show, and the role that started it all for him…The Young and the Restless! That’s right, David is returning in a story arc starting to tape in May.  He will be reprising the role of Dr. Snapper Foster, the good doc he played from 1975-1982.  Hasselhoff will begin airing in mid-June.

In an exclusive statement to EW.com Hasselhoff stated, “In 1976, Bill Bell, creator of America’s No. 1 soap opera, took a chance on a young and very green actor. Playing Snapper in 850 shows during the six years I appeared molded my craft, my attitude and my work ethic. Being asked to come back to appear in several episodes gives me a chance to say thanks, as I have an amazing amount of respect and heartfelt emotion for Bill, his family and my time on Young and the Restless. I just hope I can remember all those lines.”

Seems more of the Foster’s are also on their way back to Genoa City for the story arc including Wings Hauser will also reprise his role as Snapper’s brother Greg, and Julianna McCarthy will pick up where she left off in 2008 as matriarch Liz Foster Brooks.
Could Hasslehoff being taping some of this experience for his new Reality Show?  We think so!

I read that this is to promote his new reality show.

So this is just like when Ricky Martin came out, since he has a book and now an album in the works.

I hope Snapper gets drunk and eats a cheeseburger while he’s being filmed. LOL!

I can not believe David Hassehoff is returning toY&R, even briefly. He may not be kidding about remembering his lines. I do remember Snapper, the doctor, his brother, and his sisterJill. I am curious to see what the story line will be, though. This should be very interesting!…
