Days Of Our Lives

DAYS John and Marlena are back in "Salem's Secrets, Scandals and Lies"!

John and Marlena are on their way back, but not to television! Yup, that’s right.  The characters played by legendary Days of our Lives stars, Drake Hogestyn and Deidre Hall will be among several MIA former Salemites who appear in the new novel called Salem’s Secrets, Scandals and Lies (Sourcebooks, Inc.).  The book is due out in November as part of the NBC sudser’s 45th anniversay celebration.  And here is the kicker, it is being written by the very talented former head scribe of DAYS, Sheri Anderson.  Not only will John and Marlena’s fictional life be addressed. but so will other favorites who have been on the small screen canvas including:  Belle, Shawn, Patch and Eric.

On-Air On-Soaps caught up with Anderson at  last weekend’s Daytime Emmys in Vegas, who teased she had a big announcement coming soon.  Well that she did.  And, In a new interview out with TV Guide Magazine she offered, “I love this kind of writing because it gives me total freedom with the characters. I can take them to any lavish locale in the world and I don’t have to worry about budget restrictions or actor contracts!”  In the first of three novels, Anderson will center the opener with her  new creation, teen heiress Charlotte “Charley”, who will develop an attraction to a very married Shawn.

I miss the shows that gave us hope despite all odds that things will work out and our wonderful couples will be together again and happy even if it is only for a little while. For some reason all I see… Read more »

Wednesday, October 14th, 2020 marks the final appearance of Kristian Alfonso’s iconic run as Hope Williams on NBC’s Days of our Lives, a role she played on and off for more than 37 years.  Make no mistake about it, Alfonso was a staple of Salem and the DAYS family since she made her debut back in 1983.
