DAYS OF OUR LIVES: Melissa Reeves Lets It Rip As Jennifer Finds Eve In Bed With JJ!

Courtesy/NBC

Courtesy/NBC

On Tuesday’s episode of Days of our Lives, Jennifer (Melissa Reeves) finally walked in on a moment that will forever be burned in her brain!

Yup, that’s right! She caught more than an eyeful of her son JJ (Casey Moss) having sex with her arch-enemy Eve (Kassie DePaiva).  This story point had been building for months, and finally the cat out of the bag. When Jennifer stumbled on to the scene of her son in the throes of passion with Eve, she lets Eve have it, and we mean have it!

Filled with disgust, Jennifer tells Eve twisting a knife physically into her would have been less painful that to use her son in this way to get back at her, because Eve hates her so much!  Eve, as you recall is so hell-bent on making Jennifer’s life miserable after Jenn got both Eve’s guys – Jack and Frankie – throughout her adult life.  As Jennifer continues her onslaught, and as she comes to the horrible conclusion that her son has been sleeping with Paige’s (True O’Brien) mother, she is sickened.  Jennifer even lays a big ole’ bitch-slap on Eve.  Eve begs Jennifer not to tell Paige.  JJ even admits that he wanted to be with Eve, and it wasn’t just Eve setting up Jennifer.   In the end, Jennifer walks out disgusted.

Kudos have to go to Melissa Reeves for giving a performance that measured up to the reveal.  It’s nice to see when a veteran performer is given some meaty material, and its not just about a meandering love story.

So, what did you think of the scenes between Melissa, Casey and Kassie?  Share your thought below!

Jen needs to also slap JJ and then herself…lol…Simon and Garfunkels Mrs. Robinson shouldve been playing in the background when Jen caught them bein naughty…dont really care for this story…it couldve been worse…Daniel and Eve…lol

Wow…powerhouse performance by Missy! I miss the feistiness of Jennifer Rose Horton. It was a great show. Although I like JJ has real feelings for Eve. He did a quick hesitation in the hallway…Mom or Eve..mom won that one.

The show down was beautiful and I loved it. I knew Jennifer would go ballistic when she found out. Melissa Reeves did a terrific job showing the anger, disgust and hurt that Jennifer experienced. I loved the line about twisting the knife in her chest. I do think Jennifer is wrong about this being revenge. Eve is just an alley cat who wanted to get it on with any man. JJ just happened to be her prey since all the adult men she hit on were smart enough to steer clear. Kassie De Paiva did a great job showing Eve’s shame at being caught in the act. I loved when Eve begged Jennifer not to tell Paige. “She’s just a kid.” Jennifer threw it right back in her face, “JJ’s just a kid.” Casey Moss was wonderful showing JJ’s shame in the situation. Kudos to all three for a terrific confrontation.

Can’t wait for today as Jennifer and JJ have it out in the town square. Paige is about to get an ear full.

yeah, amazing powerhouse performances from Missy Reeves, Kassie DePaiva, and Casey Moss! Wow!!! Great to see Melissa Reeves get some material that shows her off. Give Melissa MORE!

I agree… I want to see more of this Jennifer come out..I am tired of them writing her her uptight and Kassie is such a good actress, I think she brings out the best in all of them….

Hate to say it but Paige has to go….doesn’t work for me….

@ Elite Advisors – Kassie does bring out a lot in all of them, almost as good as Eileen Davidson. As for Paige, I love the character, though the writers need to work harder to define her, make her stronger, more active. True O’Brien is such a gem, the material she’s been given has been crappy. Hopefully, the new changes behind the scenes, they will begin to write deeper for Paige. True is such a talent, she’s a very connected actress, in my opinion.

Great scene. Kassie was fabulous too!

Kassie was wonderful.
I wish Jenifer would stop wearing pale lipstick. I’d like to see her wearing mauve pink or something with a little color.

Who cares about lipstick? We’re not talking about Y&R! lol

Hi, harry. I agree that Jen’s lipstick is too pale. However mauve is not very flattering on blondes. Apricot or a peachy shade is more the thing. She is so pretty, that color would bring out her eyes more.
I did a double take, watching Melissa in action. I would love to see more of that.
Spitfires come in small packages….LOL.

ie: Jenn’ barely their upper lip

LOL

I always just thought it was lip gloss…. as she didn’t want to “feature” her lack of

whatever shade she wears blends in with; and makes a pasty ghostly non conturred no vitality unlived

so she over uses her eyes for exasperation and wounded

I would like to do an entire makeover of Jennifer, but yes to darker lipstick!

Great soap scene! I didn’t know Melissa had it in her!! Very good performances by all. Thank you, Days.

As I have already expressed on the previous site…..the tigress in Little Jenny Horton emerges…teeth bared; claws sharpened. Oh, yeah!

I rewatched the scene…Melissa Reeves needs more scene stealing moments like this…Jen was getting tiresome especially with Daniel…now im starting to like her again…i did not care too much for this story but the confrontation scene boost my opinion and now im ok with J.J. and ‘Mrs Robinson’…lol

@CeeCee… I’m a couple eps behind

I can’t argue with the majority… (yet)

if Melissa Reeves is propped and lauded (well)

LOL correct JimH…. “…Jen was getting tiresome especially with Daniel ”

I don’t know that I will ever be not TIRED and achingly OVER dullard dr. jonas

Casey Moss and Kassie DePaiva… happy dance !

I know what you mean, jimh. I think Jen should just be single for a while. I like this transformed Jen……I’m anxious to see what she’ll do next. Wow! I was actually taken aback as we do not usually see this sedate, little woman (much like myself) , give it her all.
I am also so pleased to have seen Kassie give a great performance. Her embarrassment and mortification looked so real….exceptional job all around; including JJ.

It’s time for DAYS to bring back Frankie (Billy Warlock)!

I’ve been very down on DOOL lately but yesterday’s show was the best I’ve seen in a long time with veteran and legacy characters front and center, giving the audience a partial payoff to the JJ/Eve storyline, and the three actors delivering great performances. This is what DOOL should be about, not elephant statues and Clyde and his family. Having said that, I think that it says so much about how bad JJ and Paige are, and how misguided the DOOL’s writers have been, that the payoff so many of us were waiting for was Jennifer finding out about the affair, and not Paige. I can tell that the show is saving Paige finding out for a later date, maybe May Sweeps, and that will be very anticlimactic compared to Jennifer’s reaction. But kudos to DOOL and the three principals involved in yesterday’s show because there was more energy and passion in that one episode than I’ve seen on DOOL in literally months.

Hahaha! Brilliant- elephant statues! Well done, you are so correct, what on earth is that whole boring storyline about? Serena and Eric are so horribly boring and sedated, I have to fast forward through all of their scenes. Days writers need to up their game.

Yes, great soap scene. More, please? DAYS seems to do this classic daytime drama suspense-building right. And what a climax!

this was one of the best episodes in a long time except when sonny confronted will for cheating – the best part was when jennifer tried to smother eve with the pillow & jj stood there petrified out of his mind – i laughed so hard i thought i was going to have a stroke………….
melissa as well as kassie were brilliant in those scenes and i applaud both of them!!

I actually thought Melissa’s acting was a bit amateurish in some areas. I did enjoy the reveal–Jen jumping on Eve. More good story to come hopefully.

Wow, that was a really good reveal…the best cat fight, although one sided, in ages! Does DAYS’ performers have good medical coverage?!

This final blow-up was what we were waiting for, and it’s great that they were “caught in the act!”
It was an Emmy winning performance by Jennifer who was just stupendous! Her anger and hurt poured out so realistically. I just loved this scene and didn’t even delete it from my DVR.!
Now we are waiting for the scene when Paige hears about it. Should be equally priceless!!!

Everything you said….I agree.

Melissa Reeves is a limited actress. She usually does not excel at meaty moments in storylines but she played this well. Understated and controlled. She portrayed both anger and hurt in an excellent fashion far exceeding what I expected from this reveal. Kudos to Melissa Reeves. It’s about time you showed something other than judgment or pity. You expressed honest emotion and it came across as real. Casey Moss also went even higher into the stratosphere with his acting in this scene. He keeps growing and it is amazing to watch. Kassie DePaiva is just spectacular in every scene. You have to be careful with an actress like that cause she can steal any and every scene away. But Melissa show strength in her acting and didn’t get lost in the scene. I loved it. My favorite part of the scene was Jennifer’s restraint in expressing her disappointment and disgust with her own son for bedding Eve. I know she will let him have it on today’s episode but the look on JJ’s face as he faced his mother with what he has been doing was classic daytime drama excellence. When the storyline started I was like , “dear god this is sick” but as it went on I have enjoyed watching the way it is affecting JJ and Eve. Eve is showing how much she hates what she is doing but is really loving getting the attention from a younger man. She is a needy woman with a messed up psyche. There is really not a strong sense of her doing it to get back at Jennifer. The portrayal seems to convey that she is seeking affirmation as a woman who is desired and wanted because everyone in Salem seems to consider her a “evil city woman”. Kassie DePaiva is flawless in the levels she is showing in her portrayal. Be proud Melissa Reeves, Casey Moss and Kassie DePaiva, you literally batted this out of the ballpark and I am glad I got to see the homerun! Congrats to all and thank you for excellent work you gave us the viewers.

Mateo, perfectly stated! I agree, Melissa Reeves finally showed us something more than judgement and pity. I used to love Jen! For the past year or so, probably with the on again/off again pairing with Daniel, I began to lose interest in the character and actress. However, the scenes yesterday and today, proved me wrong, I HOPE DAYS will give Jennifer a BIG storyline, a storyline for her, not Abby or JJ. Melissa was showcased with a fantastic reveal that we’ve been waiting for, she delivered. I want to see more of Jennifer Horton, hopefully the writers will continue now to press forward and give her worthy material. Jennifer needs a big storyline, something unexpected and not depressing. I loved seeing her active, Melissa keep it up! DAYS writers, WRITE for Jenny, she’s worth it! as is Missy.

Mateo, you are so right about Kassie DePaiva. She is a force. Of course, how could she not be. She spent 20 years working with the very best – Erika Slezak and Robin Strasser.

Days of Our Lives has its problems, but a talented cast is not one of them. The show has been wasting talent left and right, and here’s a perfect example. For months Jennifer Horton has had poor story lines. Melissa Reeves has done her best with them, but there was only so much she could do. Now, good material was written for the character and MR more than delivered a superb performance.

I hate this storyline. Cheap drama. I haven’t been watching these scenes. It’s like the writers decided to make things as awful as possible. I did watch Jennifer’s discovery scene, and I will say that the skill of the actors far exceeded the quality of the sleazy material given them.

I agree, this storyline is sleazy (so is most of the show) and I just haven’t been interested in watching at all .. until TUESDAY! When I heard Jennifer was going to bust Eve & JJ, I just HAD to watch that! And Melissa Reeves did not disappoint! How satisfying was it to watch Jennifer leap into that bed and attack Eve!? And all her scenes have been spot on the last two days! She speaks for all of us in the audience who have been disgusted by Eve and JJ and this whole sordid mess! Bravo, Missy!

I LOVE Missy Reeves, always have, always will!

Very good scenes. I had to rewind a couple times to catch that look on Jen’s face and couldn’t stop laughing when she tried to smother Eve with a pillow. I just wish Eve could’ve slapped Jen back — Jen is long overdue. I eagerly await someone knocking that sanctimonious attitude right out of her.

Great show…I would love to see that with all Jen has gone through this year that she starts showing signs of going crazy like Laura. Please bring back Jamie Lyn.

Melissa was terrific. In that situation there was no reason to show any restraint. Jennifer was shocked, embarrassed and furious. In that situation anyone would lose control. Congratulations to Melissa for giving that scene all the craziness it deserved.

“I would NEVER let Jennifer slap ME”

it would have been an all out no holds barred cat fight… had I been Eve

I commend Melissa Reeves for contributing to and with Casey Moss and Kassie DePaiva

once her sanctimonious pious rant and “rage” started… calling Eve every name in the book… I just had it… livid

I get that the questionable stirrings of Eve, Theresa, and Kristen are …
I wouldn’t change them a bit
these three actresses are worth their weight in gold

Jennifer Horton: once again, her character nose dived … this fervor of hers, whatever drives her dull … after she made clear: to Eve : “you are Sick, self-indulgent, Pathetic”
???? give me an expletive break

her sanctimonious harbor she should tread… but… she doesn’t know HOW to have FUN… damned her spiritual piety…. I’m over how she lords over Eve

alas, this was a scene in which Melissa Reeves carried with; this in no way makes her bigger… which is what rankles me with the denizen of Salem….

I love the witches and game players and fiesty fierce libidinous wanton come hither
Eve, Theresa, and Kristen.

gavel

Eve Donovan : are we realizing her true person… finally… her crux crumbling in and around her…. YES YES and MORE

she acted with her eyes body language and spoke volumes… the pain, tortured look, or comeuppance is coming

JJ: dang he is so fine … and yes IT”S his acting along with his all

this was a real platform NOW… on which to build further and show progression of what these three will

gangbusters…. I’ll say it again…. if the writing is up to par… Casey Moss and Kassie DePaiva : Happy Dance

—————–

Adrienne and Lucas : finally… these two showed a relaxed tease… with the chimney sweep at Jenn’s. she’s the one who stopped by unannounced cause she saw his car their… but.. Lucas is sharing… we need to talk about this…. he would go their… but suggested they stop seeing each other… ( i’m still not seeing these two together)

but… watching two incredible actors… and YES, Days of OUR Lives along with GH .. have the most solid casts to get… give them writing and it’s feast

I hope that the writing does feature Justin with a couple secrets of his own… and it’s revealed… and this will then give Adrienne more reason to fret angst and … become lonely… and imbibe or run to Lucas… with more meaning

Serena and Eric : she’s the more interesting of the two… altho .. it doesnt take much to be pissed that Daniel is in on every thing… UGH! ie: Daniel is telling Eric that Parkers new favorite toy is that MAGIC elephant… and bubblegum Mel reiterates… blech!
Eric: the one who’s constantly lost in his own thoughts… (saving grace) HIS ahem ooh, la, LA

Kayla and Paige scenes were insightful… Paige : “so… I don’t dream about him” her first love… “I’ve been on my own before” and this is sans Eve… inasmuch as this mother and daughter team muck it up… I really do like them together

Kayla is magical… if this is what she’s relegated to… danged isn’t she so good at it tho… listening… offering insightful, experience, nurture, and CARE… I LOVE Kayla

Paul/Sonny/Will: Sonny is leaving Salem !?!?! sure took Paul and Will by surprise
this story is on all cylinder so there’s just feast

I LOL (was this a chip off the ole block of mother/son) as Will is manning up with Paul… at the elevator and telling Paul no way no how are you getting your dig in on my man…

pure savor at whats to come with Salem….

this doesn’t include Paul, his mother, John Black, and Marlena
Victor and Maggie and his fight back at Clyde

Where is MY Rafe’alicious

Hope and Aiden are happy again

loved Maxine at the nurses station… w/Nicole : eyeing her “weapons” LOL… they were featured prominently tho… i thought… AZ must be watching Alexis on GH

I am LOVING Days

casey moss is the only reason i watch days. period. i hope the new writers continue showcasing his layered complex character! JJ rocks, the badder the better! i love when he screws up and then feels guilty. casy always nails jj regret and shame! cant wait for paige to find out..

Yes-for once, Daniel was wrong about Jen’s paranoia! I’m pretty harsh on her, but this is not the Jennifer Rose Horton we grew up with. She can be immature, and maybe some will say here, but Eve brought it right back to reality when she begged Jenn not to tell Paige, because, after all, she’s just a kid. Yes, Eve, and if her mama’s any indication, not a very stable one at that. Paige looks like she’s just barely hanging on by the tips of her fingers. Still, Paige has detached herself & moved out but Eve’s just stalking her down at college-Wow!
A+ performances all the way around. Thank goodness Jenn at least tried to hear JJ when he corrected her & said Eve didn’t seduce him & he kept going back. I have an awful feeling that now he & Eve will feel so down they will go back at it harder!
Let’s not forget Theresa’s reaction. She’s gonna burn his house down!
I just wish, if they are gonna play this out, someone from the network would grow a brain & cut that porno music of that moaning woman each time Eve is within 15 mls of him!

I thought Melissa Reeves gave an EXCELLENT performance and really made me believe she could kill the character of Eve – LoL – even the follow-up episode was great when she said that Paige and JJ deserve a chance (but honestly, I don’t really see how) to be together and when Eve growled to her “over my DEAD body!” I loved the reaction from Jen, that was priceless.
GREAT job – now please dump that STUPID Elephant storyline and resolve this nonsense of Ben and Jordan and their hillbilly dad, enough of that.

I am no fan of Melissa Reeves, the person (mainly because of her stand against gay rights/marriage). And let’s be clear: she should not throw stones… (Nor should I, for that matter…)

As for the character of Jennifer, it was a tour de force. Even though it was over-the-top histrionics, the histrionics were called for in this situation. And it was a nice, shall we say, “climax” to this storyline.

And am I the only one who likes JJ and Eve together?!?!…

James…dude…I (also) like JJ and Eve together…H-E-L-L-O!!!!! On-screen-wise, I think that both Casey Moss and Kassie Depaiva have amazing chemistry together. And…so what if Eve and Paige are mother and daughter????? I mean…JJ has W-A-Y MORE CHEMISTRY with Eve!!!!! As for that mild-mannered and annoying Paige…well, never mind…DEFIANT L-O-L!!!!! One last thing for now: I’m sorry but I think that that self-righteous and meddling Jennifer needs to mind her own business. JJ is a GROWN MAN…and Jennifer needs to remember that!!!!! PERIOD!!!!!!

James…take care, Brother. Peace.

Thanks, jaybird369! I agree with what you say about the chemistry between JJ and Eve, especially versus that between JJ and Paige. Take care, Brother!

Hey, jaybird…missed you.
I think that what we see in Eve and JJ is experience on Eve’s part. Poor Little Paige is very green when it comes to sex, ….we all start wide-eyed and innocent. . Eve is a sl&t, LOL. An innocent girl has nothing to ward off that force. Any young man will be attracted to the experience and manipulation (pardon the pun).
He certainly does not love a Eve. And, that’s the crux of the matter. If it had been anyone else but the mother of JJ’s girlfriend, or his mother’s archenemy, then, the affair would have been a little more palatable.
The entire affair is sickening to me…..especially since Eve is Paige’s mother. We can see it is a temporary, physical “thing”, and if you noticed, JJ always comes away, after every torrid tryst, mentally and emotionally empty and dissatisfied, albeit he is physically quenched.JMO. Later.

James…you’re welcome, buddy. One more thing: As far as I’m concerned, that Paige chick clearly has Z-E-R-O APPEAL!!!!! Dude…why can’t TPTB at DOOL see that?!?!? Fools. EPIC FAIL ALL AROUND!!!!!

Have a good one, James. See ya’!!!!!!!

One more thing on this storyline: There is one other big ick factor — is it just me or is Jennifer constantly kissing and hugging her son non-stop? It’s a little creepy that JJ is in the throes of a torrid affair with a woman old enough to be his mother while at the same time his own mother is constantly showering him with hugs and kisses. I honestly don’t know any other parent/sibling combination in which hugs and kisses are given each time they greet each other, each time they say goodbye, and sometimes during their conversations, particularly when they live together.

James…dude…you’re not the only one here…I notice it, too!!!!! And I agree…I think that it’s VERY, VERY CREEPY!!!!! To me, it makes Jennifer EVEN MORE ANNOYING!!!!! Bottom Line Here: In real-life, I don’t know anyone who is that affectionate…and that includes me!!!!! B-L-E-C-H!!!!!

James…have a good one, Brother. Peace.

Thanks, Jay! BIG HUGS TO YOU!!! 🙂
