Days of our Lives Reveals Sneak Peek Preview for Season 60: Who Shot EJ? A Mystery Man, and Big Returns
On Saturday November 2nd, and as has been tradition Peacock’s Days of our Lives unveiled a first-look teaser to the attendees of Day of Days 2024 in Los Angeles. The annual fan fest was held featuring many of the cast as they signed autographs, participated in a Q&A and more. Eventually, it was time for a look at what’s ahead as DAYS gets ready to enter their 60th season.
In the sneak peek promo, Belle (Martha Madison) is back and says she is going to figure out who she is without Shawn (Brandon Beemer) and the next thing you know she is getting hot and heavy with EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel). Meanwhile, JJ (Casey Moss) and Gabi (Cherie Jimenz) hook-up, while Phillip (John-Paul Lavoisier) kisses Stephanie (Abigail Klein) and so too does Alex (Rob Scott Wilson).
As many predicted, Javi (Al Calderon) is going to be the new love interest for Leo Stark (Greg Rikaart) and in the preview a smitten Leo says “He hasn’t felt like this in a really long time,” as he and Javi share a kiss. Then, Rafe (Galen Gering) and Jada (Elia Cantu) announce they are engaged.

Next, Jack (Matt Ashford) finds Doug (the late Bill Hayes) dead while in bed, and clips from the upcoming 15,000 episode milestone are shown featuring Susan Seaforth Hayes as Julie mourning her beloved husband, and Hope (Kristan Alfonso) returns and visits her father’s gravesite. Later, Marlena (Deidre Hall), Brady (Eric Martsolf) and Steve (Stephen Nichols) are worried as John (the late Drake Hogestyn) has disappeared. And, Jennifer (Melissa Reeves) bitchslaps Cat Greene (AnnaLynne McCord) for pretending to be her deceased daughter, Abigail.
A mystery man arrives and Julie asks, “Who are you?” Could the young man be related to Doug? The actor looks to be Peyton Meyer, best known for his roles on America Housewife and Girl Meets Boy, who is joining the cast of DAYS.

Then, Johnny (Carson Boatman) finds out from his mother Sami (Alison Sweeney), that EJ raped her and that is how she became pregnant with him. Johnny stops by the DiMera Mansion to punch-out EJ and then we learn a “”Who Shot JR?” mystery like the iconic one from Dallas will be on its way, but this time it’s “Who Shot EJ?” as the story goes is played out in Salem. At the conclusion of the promo, Hope (Kristina Alfonso) says to Julie she can’t wait for Bo (Peter Reckell) to walk in the door.
Watch the season 60 trailer below which features the returns of Emily O’Brien (Gwen), Victoria Konefal (Ciara), the aforementioned Sweeney and more.
Now let us know, which story point or return from the season 60 sneak peek are you most excited to see? Comment below.
What about Eric and Nichole we can’t say goodbye
Looks good
It looks decent. The post-“writer” material is going to be better, though. So, bring on May of 2025!
Beau and Hope
Doug had another son who was raised by his best friend Robert played by the late Robert Clary. Could this be his grandson?
I’m going to pitch a crazy curveball scenario here with the “mystery man”.
What if this is a “Stan 2.0” scenario, and this person is really Abigail, dressed up as a guy.
And since we know Sami is coming back, she might have even helped Abigail pull off the disguise, being the original “Stan” herself.
Since Abigail’s grave was empty, there’s a good chance she’s up and around somewhere (I definitely can say she’s not in Hell!) possibly a prisoner of Redneck Clyde, or possibly in a “secret medical facility” run by the DiMera family’s favorite physician, Dr. Rolf. Abigail might have eventually escaped from whichever that was, and just by random chance, run into Sami. And though the two of them had their issues in the past (Abby having a shower scene with EJ comes to mind) I could see Sami helping out Lucas’s niece in this way to help her sneak back into Salem to reclaim her life.
Obviously this is 666% speculation, and I have no evidence the story is heading this direction. But wouldn’t it be a great storyline?
Mystery man Gasp Doug had some side chick ?
Closest thing Doug Williams ever got to a sex scandal was the fact that he was married to Julie’s mother before he married her. Which is why Hope is actually Julie’s sister as well as stepdaughter!!
But as weird as that is, he only was with one of them at the time. Trust me , a Devil knows who sinners and cheaters are, and I really don’t think Doug had it in him.
Maybe in his old con man days before he came to Salem? But any kid that came from those days would be a grandparent now themselves.
Doug had another son during a separation from Julie. The woman later married Robert and he raised the child as his own son.
I’m beyond excited that Melissa Reeves is back as Jennifer!! Love her so much!! I will also say that Days will never be the same without Stefano, Victor, Doug and John. No one can step into their shoes. I have watched Days from day one and will continue to watch, but it will be so different.
Disgusting
i want see Leo and javie together see what story will go

Federal Film and TV Tax Credit Bill Hits Congress; Daytime Dramas Not Eligible

In an effort to bring back productions to the United States and offering incentives to keep them from going abroad, a bipartisan group of lawmakers in Congress has introduced proposed legislation to establish a federal film and television tax credit. It is being touted as a landmark moment for Hollywood Workers and small businesses.
The Motion Picture, Television, and Entertainment Revitalization Act, led by Rep. Laura Friedman (D-Calif.), Rep. Nathaniel Moran (R-Texas), Rep. Sanchez (D-Calif.) and Rep. Brian Jack (R-Ga.) in the House of Representatives, would establish a 20 percent base tax credit on labor expenses and a potential rebate of 30% if signed into law. Sen. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) and Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.) are spearheading an identical bill in the Senate.
To be eligible, productions must have a minimum spend of $1 million (per film or per TV season), and at least 75% of production days must be in the U.S. For animation, 75% of the production cost must be in the U.S.

SOAP OPERAS AND OTHER FORMS OF PROGRAMMING WILL NOT BE PART OF THE BILL
The federal incentive would be eligible to be stacked on top of individual state tax incentives, much like the current system in Canada and Australia. In the new bill, postproduction and special visual effects labor costs can be counted as eligible expenses.
However, the lawmakers proposed bill does not include the following type of shows: Daytime dramas, porn, commercials, talk shows, interview shows, game shows, award shows, news programming, live sports, corporate/industrial videos, and social media videos,
TV AND FILM PROJECTS THAT ARE ELIGIBLE HOPE TO BRING BUSINESS AND JOBS BACK TO THE U.S.
The federal film and television tax credit will be available for: films, TV shows – scripted and unscripted (4-episode minimum), TV pilots, animation, above-the-line wages (producers, writers, directors, actors, etc.) and below-the-line wages (crew), and standalone post-production and visual effects.
If passed, the legislation could offer much needed help for workers who have been rocked by recent unsteady times in show business. In all, runaway productions, strikes and a contraction in the business have dashed many job opportunities in recent years, with the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics finding that jobs in the motion picture and video industries have declined by more than 100,000 since 2022.
Click here to review the entire proposed bill from congress.
So, what do you think of the new bill on the table in the U.S. congress? Glad to know that it could, if passed, help some types of projects? What do you think about how the soaps are excluded and deemed not eligible? Does it continue to seem to you, that no matter what, those that work within the continuous tightened budget of daytime dramas can never catch a break? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

‘Days of our Lives’ Preview: Will Dominic Marino Turn Out to Be Marlena’s Son With Stefano DiMera?

All signs point to that Dr. Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) at some juncture had Stefano DiMera’s (the late Joseph Mascolo) baby, but will it ultimately prove to be true, especially when the man in question is Dominic Marino? The last name Marino could also be the clue which its first half contains Marlena, the last half Stefano!
For several weeks, Marlena has been grappling with some vague memories and things she doesn’t seem to want to remember or can’t. We know that when Belle (Martha Madison) and Chad (Conner Floyd) made it to Italy, they found hidden in the replica chess set, just like the one Stefano “gifted” Marlena and John, that a secret compartment revealed a photo of Stefano holding a young boy with the picture dated on the back “1992.”
Now, in all-new episodes of Days of our Lives streaming next week on Peacock, the official promo ends with quite the shock for Marlena. First, Steve (Stephen Nichols) pays her a visit with an update that they were able to track down the birth certificate of Dominic Marino. As she reads the certificate, Marlena says out loud that Stefano is listed as the father, but stops dead in her tracks when she reads the mother’s name, and the promo goes to black!

Will Marlena learn she has another child out there, who seemingly was in cahoots with Dante Vitali (Franco LoPresti) in Monte Carlo? Or, is this all one last evil plan from the dead from Stefano to make Marlena believe she is the biological mother of his child? Stay tuned.
Elsewhere in Salem, Philip (John-Paul Lavoisier) races home to the Kiriakis mansion ready to save it, and the family business. after gambling it all in Monte Carlo. Sadly, when he walks in to the family home, it’s completely empty!
In addition, the machinations of Joy Wesley (AlexAnn Hopkins) continue as she concocts another scheme when she researches, “nerve conduction studies.” Could it be she is going to fake her paralysis? Then, Mason (Brandon Butler) and Holly (Ashley Puzemis) finally have s showdown, where she asks, “Do you think I’m to blame for Sophia’s death?” It appears Mason believes she had a lot to do with it.
Now below, check out additional Days of our Lives spoilers for the week of September 21-15.

Soap Alums Remembered During In Memoriam Segment at 78th Emmy Awards; Patrick Muldoon Omitted

During last night’s 78th annual Primetime Emmy Awards ceremony, as it does every year, the television academy paid tribute to those in the industry that they’ve lost over the last year; since the previous Emmys held each year in September.
Starting with an emotional tribute to the late Catherine O’Hara by three of her co-stars, Schitt’s Creek’s Annie Murphy and Dan Levy and Home Alone’s Macaulay Culkin, the segment then dovetailed into Noah Kahan performing “Bridge over Troubled Water” as the faces and the names of those being remembered were shown on the screen.
Daytime soap alums, who either stayed in the genre for the majority of their career, or went on to primetime success as well, were honored including: Anthony Geary (Luke, GH), Hayden Panettiere (Sarah, OLTL, Lizzie, GL, Juliette, Nashville), James Van Der Beek, (Dawson, Dawson’s Creek, and Stephen, ATWT), Gil Gerard (Alan, The Doctors), June Lockhart (Mariah, GH), Patricia Crowley (Mary, Port Charles and GH), Randolph Mantooth (Clay/Alex, Loving and The City, and Richard, GH) and Jon Cypher (Alex, ATWT and Arthur, Santa Barbara).

THOSE HONORED AND THOSE WHO WERE NOT
However, in a glaring omission, the producers of the In Memoriam failed to include Days of our Lives beloved star, Patrick Muldoon who played the OG Austin Reed and also Richard Hart on Melrose Place. Muldoon passed away in April of this year at 57.
After Kahan concluded his performance, a special tribute to Rob Reiner began with Jamie Lee Curtis taking to the stage to share some warm words about her late friend.
In a ironic and sad twist, Curtis shared ,“Last week, Robbie won an Emmy for guest actor in a comedy series for his beautiful work on The Bear, and he now holds the record of 48 years for the longest gap between acting Emmys, which was previously held by his father Carl Reiner, at 37 years.”
Reiner, who along with his wife, Michele Reiner were killed by their son, Nick Reiner, is currently awaiting a decision if he will stand trial. Prosecutors on Tuesday, shared they will not seek the death penalty if he is convicted at trial, but instead life in prison. Curtis said of Rob, “He was generous and kind and funny as hell, and a friend to all. We all miss Rob and Michele and all those we lost this year.” The Emmys then faded to black and went to commercial break.
So, were you happy to see those who you know from their work in soap operas included in the 2026 In Memoriam tribute at the Primetime Emmys? Share your thoughts in the comment section. But first, in case you missed it, you can watch it below.
