DAYS OF OUR LIVES: Sonny Goes Off On Scheming Gabi & This Week Maggie Remembers The Night Adrienne Was Killed
Things are definitely reaching a boiling point in Salem. First, if you caught last Friday’s episode, it featured a terrific scene between Freddie Smith (Sonny) and Camila Banus (Gabi) that shook everyone to its core. Gabi, who has now been arrested at the PCPD for her crimes against Julie and her schemes against Lani, gets a visit from Sonny, and boy is he angry. At the time of their visit, Justin (Wally Kurth) has already told Sonny that he doubts there is any way that Gabi will avoid prison time.
Realizing that both Ari’s parents are looking like they will be in prison, he asks Gabi, “Who gets the fun job of explaining this to Ari?” Ari loves Julie. He exclaims,”How I am supposed to explain that her mother tried to kill her multiple times?”
Distraught and thus facing parenting alone, Sonny screams at Gabi if she even knows her daughter exists!? Gabi thinks Sonny is being horrible to her, but stands by her actions that Julie needed to pay. Sonny just shakes his head in disbelief. Ari’s parents will both be in the slammer! When DA James Giddens arrives (Terrell Tilford) he says that Gabi will get 10 years in prison with no time off for good behavior and no parole. In these scenes. Smith and Banus really delivered the material and brought it to an emotional level that hit home to the viewers.

And now this week, get ready for more drama. Gabi may get a last minute reprieve, while Maggie (Suzanne Rogers) is so close to remembering what happened the night of the accident that killed Adrienne (Judi Evans) – how she was drunk in a car that caused the crash – and the victim of this is not only Adrienne, but Will (Chandler Massey) who was sent to prison for a crime he did not commit.
In the latest promo for DAYS, look for Sonny to also lower the boom on Maggie with another deserved outburst and a homecoming for Will and Sonny.
So, what did you think of the scenes between Freddie and Camila? What do you hope happens to Maggie after her remembrance of the night of the crash is revealed? What will Xander (Paul Telfer) and Victor (John Aniston) to next and all of their plans seem to be unraveling? Comment below. But first check out the scene from Friday between Camila and Freddie, and this week’s promo for DAYS>

So funny when Sonny mentioned bringing Arianna to prison to visit both her parents. Great scene!
Love the drama. This weeks looks great too!
Gabi has the skill of making her every mistake plausible; to herself. Her thinking is so warped, she needs psychiatric help—-not prison. She’s nuts!!
What is brewing in the PTB’s caudron? How is it possible for Gabi to be Mickey’s match? Hmmmm—-to whom is she related? Kristin or Brady ? ( if he’s the true bio daddy, that is)—- what has Rolf done? More intriguing; who did a little hanky-panky with Gabi’s mom back in the day? Victor? Maybe?
Someone surely did “something”….
Well, we know that Rolf can sometimes make babies without either of the parents even knowing about it. My theory is that little baby Mackenzie was actually created in a DiMera laboratory. The egg might well have come from Kristen, but the “swimmers” used in the process might not have been Brady’s. Since they are a match to Gabi somehow, the likely unwilling donor there would have to be one of her brothers, or possibly her father. Since Rafe is the only one of the three currently on the show, he would be the most likely suspect. Rafe was held prisoner by the DiMeras a few years back while a doppleganger imitated him in Salem, so they would have had the opportunity to take the sample from him and put it on ice for a few years.
It would make absolutely no sense to make a Rafe/Kristen baby, of course. But it didn’t make any sense to make Roman/Kate babies either, so when has logic ever stopped them?
Hey, Satan…..we do think alike. I proposed Stefano’s little swimmers—-then the Gabi mystery-match rang a Fernandez bell —yes, Rafe or his father. I do believe I’ve said that somewhere.
Then, there’s Dario.
You’re right–no logic . If only ‘ all’s well would end well’—- too many strings left dangling. The compartments in my brain are orderly—I can only go so far with misarray —then I get bored; making my brain balk.
I think the father is Eric Brady. The child was created when Eric was still a priest. Is the match Gabi or Ari.
Celia
Boy, we sure agree on this one! While watching I wondered the same thing, even to writing all the known relatives down. I even thought of Rolf as you said, did he impregnate Kristen with someone else’s child, as Kristen did years ago with Theresa? Looks like you and Satan have it figured out, crazy as Gabi is. They really need to lock her up for good!
Absolutely no reprieve for Gabi is acceptable. That psychopath needs to be put back in a cage and left there.
She is a unpleasant, unnerving character Send her away for much needed psychiatric help before she is ever allowed around her child.
I love Gabi. I’m intrigued as to how she is Mickey’s match, but strangers can be matches. I hope Gabi will get out of trouble!!!
Momo
Are you for real, or just as twisted as Gabi is?
Yes, I am for real.
You’re right—complete strangers can match. However, Momo….it’s a soap; so I would guess ( that’s an understatement) this is too much of a coincidence? TPTB must shake it up in order to keep the interest going—-now that some stories are coming to an end, ye-gods cannot lose the momentum.
As far as liking Gabi….I get it—I like Nelle—go figure. I think we admire the acting—both women are married to Satan and it shows. LOL
If Gabi the psychopath is allowed to escape prison I will no longer watch DOOL.
The writing for the Gabi character has been too extreme this time jump, the actress is fabulous. Same can be said for how writers are trying to destroy the Steve character by having “Stefano” essence in him…maybe next have of time jump these characters will be propped like Justin, Maggie, Sonny, Ciara, Ben, etc. Anyone can appear to be a good actor if given great material. Sad what writers have done to this show!
Also, is it too far out of these actors range to express anger/hurt any other way than shouting and over emphasizing words?? All we hear is raised voices and yelling for angst…please I’ve got a headache..
How many more times do we have to revisit Adrienne’s death?? Please move on..if money is so tight use it in a more effective manner.
Well I must say, Sonny was on a roll! First he goes off on Gabi and then Maggie gets her turn. As much as I love Maggie, what she did was beyond reprehensible and irresponsible. If she needed to drink that bad, she should have taken her bottle up to her room and had her pity party there .There were so many others that could have taken Sarah to the hospital, like 911, a driver or any of the help, even a Taxi. Sonny had every right to yell at her the way he did. Victor acts like she’s made of glass and needs protection no matter what it costs anyone else.

‘Heated Rivalry’ Star Franco LoPresti Opens Up About ‘Days of our Lives’ Debut as Dante Vitali

Next week on Monday, September 14 will mark the first appearance in Salem of Franco LoPresti in his new Days of our Lives role of Dante Vitali.
Heated Rivalry fans now LoPresti very well from his part as hockey player Cliff Marleau in the series first season. (No word yet if Cliff appears in season 2).
Now in a conversation with TV Insider, DAYS fans will learn that LoPresti is on the soap for a limited run. No timetable was given.

Photo: Corday Productions, Inc
When LoPresti does burst onto the scene come Monday, Dante makes quite the impact as Franco LoPresti explains. It seems that viewers will first see him in scenes in Monte Carlo at a poker table with none other than Gabi Hernandez (Cherie Jimenez) and Philip Kiriakis (John-Paul Lavoisier). However, Dante will come to Salem to talk to the Brady family about his supposed fiancée Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney).
Franco shared, “Dante was born and grew up in Italy and educated at this pretty top-tier English boarding school. He then went on to build his own dynasty in finance, all the while trying to distance himself from the Vitali name (as viewers know Tamara Braun played his cousin Ava Vitali).”
“But at the core of Dante, there’s definitely an old-school quality to him”, continued LoPresti. “He’s super passionate, he’s sincere and incredibly generous, but he’s also someone that you probably shouldn’t underestimate. Loyalty is something that means a lot to him. As Dante enters Salem, I think the audience will get to slowly peel back those layers and discover what’s really driving him. So, I’m excited for Days fans to go on that ride with Dante.”

As it turns out, LoPresti taped his episodes of DAYS starting back in November 2025 which happened to be weeks before Heated Rivalry became a smash hit.
Franco recalled, “It’s so funny because I thought my episodes would air in a month (on Days of our Lives). But I found out it was nine to 10 months and I was like, ‘I gotta wait that long?!’ So, I’ve been biting my nails, trying not to think about it, and I think it’s actually kind of helped because now it’s here and it’s all coming at me from all different angles. I’m nervous. I’m excited, and I just can’t wait to see it all come together. It’s one of the best jobs I’ve ever had for sure.”
In his personal life, Franco just had his first child with wife, actress Emily Alatalo, just a weeks ago on August 23rd when they welcomed their daughter, Stella into the world.
So, looking forward to seeing Franco LoPresti’s debut come Monday? What do you think about the fact that it’s being reported as a limited run? Do you think Dante and Sami have a chance on-screen or off-screen to be a happy couple? What do you really think brings Dante to Salem sans Sami? ‘Days of our Lives’ Head Writers Give Fall 2026 Preview: Marlena and Stefano’s Chess Mystery, The Arrivals of Dante and Sydney, Romance Drama for Sarah and Others

As summer comes to a close with Labor Day weekend, the former Days of our Lives co-head writing duo of Paula Cwikly and Jeanne Marie Ford have given their annual fall season preview in episodes taped some 10-11 months ago.
As previously reported this past July, Ryan Quan returned to Days of our Lives and is now co-head writing the show with Ford, while Cwikly is now a consultant. The new co-head writing teams stories will not be seen till late spring/early summer 2027.
So for now, the stories pick up from where we left off with Cwikly and Ford promising via TV Insider, “Fall in Salem is full of twists and turns and secrets and surprises. Dots connect in unexpected ways as seemingly unrelated threads converge.”

CHECKMATE?
In one of the top mystery’s, Marlena is still having troubling memories and she will have another one on the Monday, September 7 episode. Meanwhile, her daughter Belle (Martha Madison) has gotten very close to Chad DiMera (Conner Floyd) and as pictured here, the two smooch while in Italy searching for answers to the chess set that Stefano DiMera gifted th the late John Black and Marlena (Deidre Hall) that has some significance.
The head scribes share, “The (chess board) mystery and its fallout are central to the fall stories. Chad and Belle follow the clues to a discovery that changes both of their families, and Salem, forever. Marlena worries that their investigation/the chess set may be a Pandora’s box that has been opened. And she is right…”
Newcomers are also the order of the day for Cwikly and Ford, this fall. We have already seen the debut as Brandon Butler as Mason Whitfield, and next week you can add as previously reported Sydney Malakeh on the Thursday September 1o episode as Sydney DiMera, followed by the the Monday, September 14 arrival of Franco LoPresti as Dante Vitali.

Photo: Corday Productions
Paula and Jeanne Marie expressed on the incoming Dante, “The arrival of a stranger who will set the whole town on its ear. The character has several strong ties to the current canvas and impacts many storylines.” What will Dante be up to? We know Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney) had mentioned in 2025 she got engaged to the man, but that was off-screen.
LOVE THE ONE YOU’RE WITH OR THE ONE YOU WANT?
In the romance department, the triangle between Brady/Sarah/Xander heats up with a very conflicted Sarah (Linsey Godfrey). The head writers reveal, “When Sarah faces attacks personally and professionally, Xander (Paul Telfer) and Brady (Eric Martsolf) work together to help and protect her. Sarah’s new love for Brady is challenged by her lingering love for Xander. Xander risks everything for Sarah.”
In addition look for, “Gabi (Cherie Jimenez) and Philip (John-Paul Lavoiser) to draw closer as he tries to save the family company and home.”
Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) will also be returning at some point this fall and she won’t be alone. Who might she bring with her? And from the looks of the Peacock promo for next week’s DAYS, someone is wearing Stefano’s ring around their finger, but who … and how does it all tie in this fall?
So, what do you think about some of the highlights coming up this fall on Days of our Lives per the series head writers? Does anything float your boat or pique your interest? If so, what? Let us know via the comment section. But first, check out the action next week on DAYS in the promo entitled “Bag of Tricks” below.
