Rafe2 sneaks into Fay’s hospital room and begins to smother her with a pillow. She tries to fight back, but in the end, he kills her! He quickly exits her room as her monitor alarms go off. Despite Carly and Lexie’s best efforts, they cannot revive Fay. Nicole and Taylor are led to believe their mother died of a stroke, and they ultimately decide to forego an autopsy. Lexie breaks the news to Roman about Fay’s demise. Rafe2 is relieved to learn that Fay’s death is being chalked up to natural causes. Remembering her mother’s last words to her, Nicole vows to uncover EJ’s secret. Meanwhile, Taylor allows herself to seek comfort in EJ’s arms. Vivian has fun tormenting Chloe, then sneaks into Stefano’s house with Gus. Chad discovers her, and then Stefano berates her. Gus has better luck and informs Vivian that there was recently a prisoner in the DiMeras’ basement. Philip takes Chloe out for an open mic night at the Brady Pub. She sings and begins to find her joy again in music and in life. Rafe2 decides not to tell EJ and Stefano that he was responsible for Fay’s death. Meanwhile, Nicole and Taylor console each other as they grieve over Fay. Nicole, however, can’t stop thinking about their mother’s last words – that EJ has a secret. Nicole confronts her husband, who insists he has no idea what Fay was talking about. Privately, EJ is worried. Later, Nicole overhears EJ tell Stefano he thinks Fay was trying to tell Nicole about Rafe. A masked man follows and threatens Melanie, and tells her to drop the reward for information on Arianna’s hit-and-run. Dario saves her, but the man escapes. Melanie and Dario go to “Rafe,” who is not at all interested. Dario decides he will get to the bottom of this himself – and Melanie insists she will help him. Carly feigns an elbow injury to get a prescription from Lexie. Daniel catches her with the pills and insists on looking at her elbow. Carly snaps at him. Daniel and Jennifer are forced to face their attraction, but each discount it as a “rebound” thing. Each privately resolves to stay away from the other.
Nicole eavesdrops on EJ and Stefano as they talk about their secret that involves Rafe. Before she can get the full story, EJ and Stefano are alerted to her presence. Nicole covers. Meanwhile, Rafe2 and Sami have it out when she learns he asked Johnny to fetch him a beer. A frustrated Sami decides to take her children to visit her brother, Eric, for a short break. Rafe2 is secretly triumphant; convinced this is the final nail in the coffin of their marriage. Sami goes to EJ to let him know she’s taking the kids out of town. He pretends to be sympathetic to her troubles. At the same time, Nicole decides to investigate EJ’s secret regarding Rafe. She drops by the loft to question Rafe. Rafe2 misreads her intentions – and pulls Nicole into a major kiss! Bo and Hope are ready to start over as a family, but Ciara misunderstands and uses an opportunity to run away with Theo. The kids hop on a truck headed out of town. A horrified Bo and Hope soon realize what has happened, while Ciara and Theo make camp in the woods. Carly struggles to keep her cool as Daniel offers to examine her “injured” elbow. On edge, Carly blows up at him. She doesn’t want Daniel to find out she faked the injury to get pain medication. Jennifer arrives, and she and Daniel express concern for Carly’s emotional state. Carly warns them to back off – and then pops a couple of pills in her office. Under the calming influence of the drugs, she later apologizes to both of them. Daniel senses something is wrong, but Carly insists she’s just upset about Nicholas rejecting her. Later, Daniel and Jennifer continue to fight their feelings for each other.
Nicole slaps Rafe2 for kissing her. She thinks he’s using her again to get info on EJ. “Rafe” denies this and blames his accident for his behavior. He and Nicole agree not to mention this to EJ. Alone, Nicole is still determined to discover Rafe’s connection to EJ. Meanwhile, EJ tells Stefano that Sami took the kids and went to Eric’s. Later, EJ comforts Taylor in her grief over Fay’s death. He then goes to Rafe2 to congratulate him on driving Sami away. Cocky Rafe2 lets it slip that Nicole dropped by to see him, which worries EJ. Meanwhile, Nicole tells Taylor that the secret Fay spoke of has to do with Rafe. Bo and Hope search for Ciara and Theo, convinced they haven’t gone far. Hope finds a note from Ciara and realizes why she ran away. Meanwhile, Lexie comforts Abe, who grieves for Fay, as well as Brandon, the son he never got to raise. Lexie reminds him he has a second chance with Theo. Hope calls Lexie about the children. Abe and Lexie show up at Bo and Hope’s house. Bo reassures everyone the children will be found. Meanwhile, Ciara and Theo are farther away from Salem than everyone thinks. Ciara is confident her parents will get along better now that she’s gone and she vows to stay away forever. Abigail invites Chad to join her in a summer internship at the hospital but he says he’ll be working at DiMera Enterprises. Abigail tries to hide her dismay but Chad realizes she’s worried he’ll be asked to get involved in the shadier parts of the business. Chad admits he wonders about that himself. When Kate and Stefano join them, Chad says he’s reconsidering working for his father. Kate and Stefano realize Abigail has influenced him. Kate, off her own anger towards Chloe, advises Stefano to get Abigail out of his son’s life before she turns son against father.
Bo and Hope continue to frantically search for Ciara and Theo. Abe and Lexie check the hospital, then she breaks down and he consoles her. Bo and Hope grow closer as they work as a team to find their daughter. Meanwhile, Ciara refuses to answer her phone when Hope calls. She insists Theo not answer either. Later, Ciara falls and is knocked unconscious. Theo panics when he can’t wake her. He’s torn when Hope calls again, wondering if he should go against Ciara’s wishes and answer. After hearing from Rafe2 that Nicole came by for a visit, EJ fears she overheard him and Stefano talking about replacing Rafe. Stefano says they have to get the imposter out of town while Nicole is in Chicago for her mother’s funeral. That way she can’t question him any more. EJ and Stefano tell Rafe2 to leave town for good but first he has to play out all the goodbyes to make it look authentic. Nicole almost voices her concerns about EJ to Taylor but decides to keep it to herself. Taylor covers her feelings for EJ in front of Nicole. Taylor confesses to Maggie she’d like to have someone special in her life, especially at a time like this. At the mansion, Nicole talks with a vision of Fay and theorizes that EJ caused Rafe’s car accident in order to get rid of him. When EJ returns home, he and Nicole play a game of cat and mouse, trying to get information out of each other. Taylor returns and senses the tension. Nicole secretly wants to question Rafe more about her theory, but is thwarted when EJ says they have to leave for Chicago immediately. Alone, Nicole guesses she can wait to talk to Rafe until she gets back.
Rafe2 decides to ignore EJ and Stefano’s warning to play things out – he’s leaving immediately. He packs up and heads out, only to be stopped by Gabi and Will, who decided earlier they need to have an intervention to get Sami and Rafe back together. Philip relays the bad news to Chloe that Social Services is still denying shared custody. He leaves to talk to a lawyer and runs into Kate. They have it out over Philip getting sucked in by Chloe again. Kate then approaches Chloe, who is drowning her sorrows at the bar. Kate blasts her for being a horrible mother and vows to keep Chloe out of Philip and Parker’s lives. Chloe throws a drink in her face and storms off.
Days Of Our Lives
DAYS OF OUR LIVES: Kristen Double Crosses Sophia and Sends Her Up the River; Rachel Boyd Delivers Emotional Performance
The twisted topsy-turvy story of Sophia Choi has seemingly comes to an end on Days of our Lives or has it? Whatever the case, the Friday, May 1 episode of the Peacock streaming soap opera, and the episode proceeding it, gave actress Rachel Boyd a great exit story complete with Sophia writing a suicide note, that also gave DAYS a moment to end their Friday cliffhanger with a suicide prevention message. However, Sophia didn’t take her own life, it appears that Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) murdered her!
The unstable Sophia has been causing problems for everyone in Salem most notably, Rachel, Johnny, Chanel, Holly, Tate and more. So, the resolution of this story appears to be what the character deserves, but this is DAYS, and people have habit of coming back from the dead.
On Friday, after tying up Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) in his apartment and turning on the gas, Sophia left him there to die. In the pick-up, we learn Johnny imagined the place blowing up with Chanel (Raven Bowens) inside it. When he came to in the reality of the situation, he is tied up and the gas fumes are on. Outside the apartment, Javi (Al Calderon) and another paramedic show up and he burst down the door to save Johnny. Meanwhile, we see that Chanel is still at University hospital where she learns from Sarah (Linsey Godfrey) that she has a breast cancer malignancy.

Sophia, who has just written the suicide note, which is part of the plot that Kristen set for her, is confronted by her mother. Eventually, after hearing Jada (Elia Cantu) and Brady (Eric Martsolf), she sneaks out her bedroom window. Next, she runs into Tate (Leo Howard) and Holly (Ashley Puzemis) at Horton Town Square. Holly goes in on Sophia: “We all know you shouldn’t have been let out of Bayview, you crazy bitch! Part of me wishes you really were dead!” Sophia calls her former friend horrible, blows her and Tate a kiss, and the makes her exit.
At this point, Sophia had been off her medication which would have helped balance her out, but she continues to be a deeply troubled teenager. Kristen had a concocted a plot to bring Sophia down once and for all for having her young daughter, Rachel, while in Bayview together, running drugs fo her to Holly. Viewers will recall the pills were actually Sophia’s own antipsychotic medication, which she had previously been swapped for Holly’s skin supplements. Rachel was unaware she was acting as a drug courier. That sets the stage for Kristen’s ultimate act of revenge.
In the final moments of the episode, Sophia had met up with Kristen on the bridge in the evening. She takes the gun out of her purse that Kristen gave her to kill Johnny, and throws it in the river, making Kristen believe she shot him, when instead she chose to gas him. Perhaps, believing someone would find him, since he is raising her child?

Next, Sophia demands Kristen’s promised payment, for faking her suicide and so she can head to Paris to start a new life. Kristen directs Sophia to throw her shoes in the water, and get her fingerprints on the railing. With her back to Kristen, she is double crossed when Kristen picks up a rock, bashed Sophia in the head and had her male cronies toss the young teen into the river below. “I told you revenge was sweet,” announced Kristen!
Following the streaming of the pivotal episodes the official Days of our Lives Instagram account posted some behind the scenes photos of Stacy Haiduk and Rachel Boyd (you can see it below) which says, “Things took a dark turn at the pier for Sophia and Kristen, but behind the scenes, Rachel and Stacy kept the mood a little lighter. Continue watching the drama unfold, only on Peacock.”
If as it appears to be that Rachel Boyd has exited DAYS, she definitely went out delivering some haunting performances. However, the just released Days of our Lives promo for the week of May 4, 2026, shows Kristen being visited by a bloodied Sophia. Is she hallucinating or did the girl survive?
Share your thoughts on Kristen’s plot to kill Sophia, and what you thought of the plot twist and the performances of Rachel Boyd leading up to it via the comment section below. But first, check out the promo for next week on DAYS.

DAYS OF OUR LIVES: Sophia Seemingly Plans to End Her Life, But Not Before Setting Fire to Johnny’s Apartment With Him Trapped Inside
The final few moments of the Thursday, April 30 episode of Days of our Lives, will pave the way, to what just may be the end of Sophia Choi’s (Rachel Boyd) life, but not as you may think!
After an unhinged Sophia paid a visit to Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman), maced him in the eyes, knocked him out and then tied up to a chair, now conscious, she lets him know that she holds him responsible for all the trouble and trauma she has gone through from adopting her child, and her being sent to a mental institution.
So instead of the unregistered gun Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) gave her to finish off Johnny, Sophia sets up a plan to light candle, use nail polish remover and turn on the gas on the stove to ultimately create a mass explosion, which although Johnny pleaded to her not to that to all the innocent people inside his apartment building, she doesn’t seem to care.

FIERY FACE OFF
The plan was supposed to be, after she takes care of Johnny she will toss the gun in the Salem River, then focus on payback to Holly Jonas before leaving town to start a new life.
Now, Sophia makes her exit, leaving Johnny to be a few moments away from an explosion or gas inhalation, when Chanel (Raven Bowens) comes home after awaiting the results of her mammogram. She sees Johnny tied up, as he panics and tells her to put out the flame on the candle, things go awry, and a fire has begun and everything may go up in flames with Johnny and Chanel inside.

A BROKEN SOPHIA
Back in her room, Sophia breaks down after reading the social media comments about her, she planted, and then starts writing a suicide or farewell note which says. “I’m tired of begging for forgiveness for my mistakes. All I wanted was to move forward, to be loved and understood. But it’s clear that I was never going to get that. Holly Jonas said that I was dead to her. So, as her former BFF, I’m going to make her dream a reality.”

A DEADLY TRAP
Now, the fate of Johnny, Chanel and Sophia will be revealed on tomorrow’s May 1st cliffhanger, which may be the end of Sophia when she crosses paths with Kirsten at the bridge near the river. We do know Rachel Boyd is no longer appearing in the show credits section and is now off contract with the soap.

Billy Flynn Takes His Final Bow on ‘Days of our Lives,’ as Chad DiMera Says Heart-Tugging Goodbyes
If you haven’t watched the Tuesday, February 17 episode of Days of our Lives yet, grab your hankies! In what was Billy Flynn’s last performance in the role of Chad DiMera, the three-time Daytime Emmy nominated actor left it all out on the table. Flynn gave viewers some of the most heartfelt goodbyes we have seen on the soaps when an actor is making a final exit.
While Billy left Days of our Lives last March to join the cast of The Young and the Restless as the recast Cane Ashby, with DAYS tape to streaming timeline, today in story, Chad left Salem with his children, Thomas (Cary Christopher) and Charlotte (Autumn Gendron). The three are heading to Arizona for awhile to stay with Will and Sonny. The exit provided the opportunity for there to be a short break, before Conner Floyd assumes the role come April 26 on your screens.
In a recap of Billy Flynn’s last Days of our Lives episode, it was if each goodbye and moment tugged on your heart strings more than the previous one. It also illustrated what a huge loss this was for the long-running soap opera. For those who went on the ride with Flynn as Chad, it was also an emotional day. The episode also marked the last one for Cary Christopher who was wonderful in the role of Thomas DiMera as well as Autumn Gendron as Charlotte. Both roles have been recast.

First, Chad visits Abigail’s gravesite. He tells his beloved that their kids are growing, and that he is really trying to do right by them. He tells Abigail, “I still miss you every single day.” He then informs her he is leaving Salem with the kids for awhile and that he promises to take a piece of her with him whereever he goes. As this was Valentine’s Day in Salem, Chad puts a rose on Abigail’s tombstone and tells her, “Goodbye for now!” HANKIES.
When Chad returns to Julie (Susan Seaforth Hayes), he sees his son, Thomas sitting alone. In a very touching scene, and the last one between Cary Christopher and Billy Flynn as father and son, they talk about being sad thinking about Abigail. Remembering the candied Valentine’s hearts, Abigail used to give Thomas, Chad has a box in his pocket that he gives to his son. HANKIES.
Julie comes into the living room and Thomas goes to finish packing, leaving Chad with Julie, in what will be the final scenes between Susan Seaforth Hayes and Billy Flynn. In that moment, if you watch Billy, it all seemed so real, with tears welling up in Chad’s eyes, he has to say goodbye to Julie, who is concerned she will never see him again, They discuss how they both helped each other through their grief of losing Doug and Abigail. Chad thanks Julie for opening her home to him and the children as the two hug. HANKIES

Later, Jack (Matthew Ashford) and Jennifer (Melissa Reeves) arrive back to the Horton house. Chad is there and while the three had quite the contentious time over the entire Cat Greene is Abigail and its upshot and aftermath, they seem to reconcile and come to a place of peace. Jack even pipes up that they may have made Chad’s life miserable this past year but it all ended up alright.
When Thomas and Charlotte show back up, and Chad tells them it’s time for bed, they want Julie to read a chapter (or two) from Alice In Wonderland to them. So they exit up the stairs. Next, Jennifer and Jack each hug it out with Chad. Later alone, Chad takes one last look around the living room and stops at his wedding photo with Abigail and begins to cry. Taking one final look around, Chad turns off the light and heads upstairs. HANKIES. We fade to black.
All of the scenes were poignant, beautifully played, and was that often fine line we see when the performance is mixed with the reality. Flynn cut his teeth on the soaps as an actor on Days of our Lives during his 12-year run as Chad.

Before he closed the page on his run, Flynn spoke to TV Insider, about his emotions of taping his last DAYS episodes. “The stuff that’s airing now is what I remember fondly because they are genuine goodbyes. I had one with Dan Feurriegel (EJ), Susan Hayes, and I loved being able to do the story with Missy and Matt.”
One of Flynn’s takeaways from his experience on Days of our Lives was the kudos he received along the way from executive producer, Ken Corday. “I remember after I was there for a period of time, right around the time of maybe the Necktie Killer storyline, he came in one day and he says, ‘What’s up, GB?’” Flynn relays. “And I was like, ‘GB?’ and he goes, ‘Game Ball. You’re the one we can always give the game ball to.’ It meant a lot, and he called me ‘Game Ball’ until the very end. He’s lovely, and his family is lovely, and what an honor to be a part of that legacy.”
So, what did you think of Billy Flynn’s final episode as Chad DiMera on Days of our Lives? Did you reach for the hankies? Share your thoughts via the comment section below and kudos to Billy fo a job well-done for over a decade.
