Rafe2 sneaks into Fay’s hospital room and begins to smother her with a pillow. She tries to fight back, but in the end, he kills her! He quickly exits her room as her monitor alarms go off. Despite Carly and Lexie’s best efforts, they cannot revive Fay. Nicole and Taylor are led to believe their mother died of a stroke, and they ultimately decide to forego an autopsy. Lexie breaks the news to Roman about Fay’s demise. Rafe2 is relieved to learn that Fay’s death is being chalked up to natural causes. Remembering her mother’s last words to her, Nicole vows to uncover EJ’s secret. Meanwhile, Taylor allows herself to seek comfort in EJ’s arms.  Vivian has fun tormenting Chloe, then sneaks into Stefano’s house with Gus. Chad discovers her, and then Stefano berates her. Gus has better luck and informs Vivian that there was recently a prisoner in the DiMeras’ basement. Philip takes Chloe out for an open mic night at the Brady Pub. She sings and begins to find her joy again in music and in life.  Rafe2 decides not to tell EJ and Stefano that he was responsible for Fay’s death. Meanwhile, Nicole and Taylor console each other as they grieve over Fay. Nicole, however, can’t stop thinking about their mother’s last words – that EJ has a secret. Nicole confronts her husband, who insists he has no idea what Fay was talking about. Privately, EJ is worried. Later, Nicole overhears EJ tell Stefano he thinks Fay was trying to tell Nicole about Rafe.  A masked man follows and threatens Melanie, and tells her to drop the reward for information on Arianna’s hit-and-run. Dario saves her, but the man escapes. Melanie and Dario go to “Rafe,” who is not at all interested. Dario decides he will get to the bottom of this himself – and Melanie insists she will help him. Carly feigns an elbow injury to get a prescription from Lexie. Daniel catches her with the pills and insists on looking at her elbow. Carly snaps at him. Daniel and Jennifer are forced to face their attraction, but each discount it as a “rebound” thing. Each privately resolves to stay away from the other.

Nicole eavesdrops on EJ and Stefano as they talk about their secret that involves Rafe. Before she can get the full story, EJ and Stefano are alerted to her presence. Nicole covers. Meanwhile, Rafe2 and Sami have it out when she learns he asked Johnny to fetch him a beer. A frustrated Sami decides to take her children to visit her brother, Eric, for a short break. Rafe2 is secretly triumphant; convinced this is the final nail in the coffin of their marriage. Sami goes to EJ to let him know she’s taking the kids out of town. He pretends to be sympathetic to her troubles. At the same time, Nicole decides to investigate EJ’s secret regarding Rafe. She drops by the loft to question Rafe. Rafe2 misreads her intentions – and pulls Nicole into a major kiss!  Bo and Hope are ready to start over as a family, but Ciara misunderstands and uses an opportunity to run away with Theo. The kids hop on a truck headed out of town. A horrified Bo and Hope soon realize what has happened, while Ciara and Theo make camp in the woods. Carly struggles to keep her cool as Daniel offers to examine her “injured” elbow. On edge, Carly blows up at him. She doesn’t want Daniel to find out she faked the injury to get pain medication. Jennifer arrives, and she and Daniel express concern for Carly’s emotional state. Carly warns them to back off – and then pops a couple of pills in her office. Under the calming influence of the drugs, she later apologizes to both of them. Daniel senses something is wrong, but Carly insists she’s just upset about Nicholas rejecting her. Later, Daniel and Jennifer continue to fight their feelings for each other.

Nicole slaps Rafe2 for kissing her. She thinks he’s using her again to get info on EJ. “Rafe” denies this and blames his accident for his behavior. He and Nicole agree not to mention this to EJ. Alone, Nicole is still determined to discover Rafe’s connection to EJ. Meanwhile, EJ tells Stefano that Sami took the kids and went to Eric’s. Later, EJ comforts Taylor in her grief over Fay’s death. He then goes to Rafe2 to congratulate him on driving Sami away. Cocky Rafe2 lets it slip that Nicole dropped by to see him, which worries EJ. Meanwhile, Nicole tells Taylor that the secret Fay spoke of has to do with Rafe. Bo and Hope search for Ciara and Theo, convinced they haven’t gone far. Hope finds a note from Ciara and realizes why she ran away. Meanwhile, Lexie comforts Abe, who grieves for Fay, as well as Brandon, the son he never got to raise. Lexie reminds him he has a second chance with Theo. Hope calls Lexie about the children. Abe and Lexie show up at Bo and Hope’s house. Bo reassures everyone the children will be found. Meanwhile, Ciara and Theo are farther away from Salem than everyone thinks. Ciara is confident her parents will get along better now that she’s gone and she vows to stay away forever. Abigail invites Chad to join her in a summer internship at the hospital but he says he’ll be working at DiMera Enterprises. Abigail tries to hide her dismay but Chad realizes she’s worried he’ll be asked to get involved in the shadier parts of the business. Chad admits he wonders about that himself. When Kate and Stefano join them, Chad says he’s reconsidering working for his father. Kate and Stefano realize Abigail has influenced him. Kate, off her own anger towards Chloe, advises Stefano to get Abigail out of his son’s life before she turns son against father.

Bo and Hope continue to frantically search for Ciara and Theo. Abe and Lexie check the hospital, then she breaks down and he consoles her. Bo and Hope grow closer as they work as a team to find their daughter. Meanwhile, Ciara refuses to answer her phone when Hope calls. She insists Theo not answer either. Later, Ciara falls and is knocked unconscious. Theo panics when he can’t wake her. He’s torn when Hope calls again, wondering if he should go against Ciara’s wishes and answer. After hearing from Rafe2 that Nicole came by for a visit, EJ fears she overheard him and Stefano talking about replacing Rafe. Stefano says they have to get the imposter out of town while Nicole is in Chicago for her mother’s funeral. That way she can’t question him any more. EJ and Stefano tell Rafe2 to leave town for good but first he has to play out all the goodbyes to make it look authentic. Nicole almost voices her concerns about EJ to Taylor but decides to keep it to herself. Taylor covers her feelings for EJ in front of Nicole. Taylor confesses to Maggie she’d like to have someone special in her life, especially at a time like this. At the mansion, Nicole talks with a vision of Fay and theorizes that EJ caused Rafe’s car accident in order to get rid of him. When EJ returns home, he and Nicole play a game of cat and mouse, trying to get information out of each other. Taylor returns and senses the tension. Nicole secretly wants to question Rafe more about her theory, but is thwarted when EJ says they have to leave for Chicago immediately. Alone, Nicole guesses she can wait to talk to Rafe until she gets back.

Rafe2 decides to ignore EJ and Stefano’s warning to play things out – he’s leaving immediately. He packs up and heads out, only to be stopped by Gabi and Will, who decided earlier they need to have an intervention to get Sami and Rafe back together. Philip relays the bad news to Chloe that Social Services is still denying shared custody. He leaves to talk to a lawyer and runs into Kate. They have it out over Philip getting sucked in by Chloe again. Kate then approaches Chloe, who is drowning her sorrows at the bar. Kate blasts her for being a horrible mother and vows to keep Chloe out of Philip and Parker’s lives. Chloe throws a drink in her face and storms off.

DAYS OF OUR LIVES: Will Learns He Has A Brain Tumor; What Next For WilSon?

On Days of our Lives, Sonny (Freddie Smith) and Will (Chandler Massey) have been through the wringer.  Just like any power couple in “soapdom” they are constantly pulled apart by circumstances that drives distance between them, or prevents them from being happily reunited.  But then, isn’t that was soaps are all about … or, do these boys deserve a bit of peace and quiet?

On Wednesday’s episode of the NBC daytime drama series, Rex (Kyle Lowder) and Sarah (Linsey Godfrey) drop the bomb on WilSon.  Sadly, Will has a small brain tumor, although believed to be benign, it is is in a section of his frontal lobe that makes it most likely inoperable.

Will asks if that explains his headaches and why he has been passing out, and Rex confirms that is the cause.  He also says the tumor is likely benign, because the larger ones are usually cancerous.  The next step is to do a biopsy.  Rex advises Will to not exercise, drive, work, and to avoid stress right now.

Later at the Kiriakis mansion, Will Google’s brain tumor’s on the internet and is emotionally overcome with what it says.  In tears and looking very sad, Sonny comes on to the scene to comfort Will, but Sonny is looking concerned himself, trying to put on a brave front for Will.  Then, Sonny and Will admit they are frightened for what’s ahead, but Sonny says they must try to stay positive.  Will cries.

These scenes were nicely played by Chandler Massey and Freddie Smith, who always bring it in their scenes.

Look for more drama ahead for the duo and their on-screen families as Will deals with this new health crisis.

So, what does Will’s tumor mean for the future of WilSon?  What do you think will happen next? Are you upset that Will has this diagnosis? Do you want the duo to finally have some down time from all the drama, especially after getting Leo Stark (Greg Rikart) out of their lives?  Share your thoughts via the comment section below.

DAYS OF OUR LIVES: Chad and Abby Share An Emotional Goodbye And Leave Salem Hitched

On Thursday’s episode of NBC’s Days of our Lives, tears were shed not only by the characters on the screen, but by the audience at home … plenty of them if you have been checking out social media since this installment aired.  For in it, viewers had to say goodbye to Chad (Billy Flynn) and Abby (Kate Mansi) as they left Salem to start their new life with their children in Paris.

However, before they make their exit, Chabby fans finally get to see their favorite duo tie the knot in a heartfelt and touching ceremony right in the Horton family living room.  While it was spur of the moment, it could not have been more poignant.  Leave it to Julie (Susan Seaforth Hayes) to officially preside over the nuptials, JJ (Casey Moss) to play his guitar while his sister walked down the living room aisle to her man, and even Jack (Matt Ashford) showed up to do the right thing to be there for his daughter.

What would a Chabby wedding be without personally written vows, right?  Abigail tells Chad: “When we first fell in love, God, we had no idea of what we were getting ourselves into.  They say that when you meet someone and fall in love, you’re drawn to them, because they have something you need and we’re here today because I need you.  I need your courage, your faith, and love.  I’m so beyond grateful at a second chance with you and a family with our beautiful children. You are the love of my life, Chad. There’s nothing I want more than to spend the rest of my days with you.”

In a touching moment, Chad is overcome with tears and expresses to Abigail; “You’ve always fought for your health, and for us, and I’m in awe of the woman I fell in love with. I’ll cherish you. I will protect you. I’m yours, and I’ll never doubt you again, because a love like ours really does only come once in a life.”

They exchange rings and Julie pronounces them husband and wife.  But this happy moment is also bittersweet when Chad says, “We hate to marry and run.”  Chabby has a plane to catch to take them to Paris.   Chad looks around the room and at all the special people in his life, and tells the group how special they all are to him.  In that scene, it definitely gave the feels that it was also Billy Flynn saying farewell to his castmates.

Of course … before they leave town Chad and Abby visit Stefan (Tyler Christopher) and Gabi(Camila Banus)is there.  They give them the news that they are leaving for France and are married.  In a moment alone between Abby and Stefan, he apologizes to her. Stefan notes how much he loved the other part of her (Gabby with a “Y”) and knows that she loved him too.  Abby says, “I know”.  Meanwhile, Chad says goodbye to the portrait of his father, Stefano vowing to be back someday.  After Chabby exit the DiMera mansion, Stefan has a meltdown and throws the chest board while Chloe (Nadia Bjorlin) walks in on the scene.

And finally, in the 10-hankie moment beautifully played by Billy Flynn, Kate Mansi and Melissa Reeves (Jennifer), Chad and Abby at the Horton house to say their final goodbyes to Doug (Bill Hayes) and Julie, Jack, JJ, and Jennifer.  Abigail tells her mother to never give up on her dad.  Chad is in tears as Jennifer tells him she will miss him,  He says, “I will miss you, too”.

It was in that moment that any of us that have ever had to say goodbye to our families and move far away from them, or come back to visit them and then leave again, can relate.  Saying goodbye is often heartbreaking when you leave behind the ones you love.  But, Chad and Abby got their happy ending … for now. However,t his is a soap opera, so you never know how long happiness will last, or when they might be back in Salem.

Kudos to the performances of Billy Flynn, so raw and real, and Kate Mansi playing Abigail with depth and dignity to wrap up the story.

So, what did you think of the Chabby goodbye? Share your thoughts via the comment section below.

DAYS’ Kate Mansi Delivers The ‘Power Performance Of The Week’

This week was a whirlwind for the character of Abigail Deveraux (Kate Mansi) on Days of our Lives.  On Christmas Eve, she shows up at the annual Christmas Ornament hanging at the Hortons with her daughter, Charlotte in tow.  When she gets there, she has a few choice words for her mother, Jennifer (Melissa Reeves).

A hurt and angered Abby lets her mom have it for not believing in her sanity in a gut-wrenching moment played to perfection by Kate Mansi.  Coming in to the scene like a firecracker ready to explode, she let out the emotions of how her own family would not stand by her when she was being gas-lighted by Gabi (Camila Banus), and yet even with that, no one still believed her.  (She still had no hard evidence to proof that she was telling the truth, but that was just around the corner!)

In addition, Mansi was pretending to be “Gabby” with a Y, the alter that fell for Stefan (Tyler Christopher) in an effort to get her freedom, and she did it.  She hands the guy divorce papers as a Christmas present, throws off her wig, shocking him that he was the one being played.   She is not sick.  She is herself, Abigail and she is leaving him and taking their baby with her.

Later, when Julie (Susan Seaforth Hayes) remembers that she saw the DNA results proving that Chad (Billy Flynn) is the father of Charlotte, not Stefan, it is a triumphant moment for Abigail, yet a stinger, because she realizes the lengths her supposed “friend” Gabi went to for her revenge plot against her.  Eventually, Abby reunites Charlotte with her real bio-dad, Chad.  And for good measure, after the truth is finally out, and Abigail proves that she is of sound mind and body, she clocks Gabi for her deception right in front of Chad.

With the levels of emotion illustrating the character’s inner-strength, and the depth in her work, MFTV names Kate Mansi the last week of 2018’s, “Power Performance of the Week.”

Let us know what you thought of Kate’s performance, what was your favorite moment in it, and how the week unraveled for Abby, Gsbi, Stefan, Chad, Jennifer, and Julie in the comment section below.
