The Brady family enjoys a reunion with Sydney. Nicole makes it to Sami’s front door to see Sydney one last time. Arianna informs Brady of the full extent of Nicole’s crimes. Brady is appalled. Arianna calls Brady out on still being in love with Nicole. Kate’s pleas stop EJ from strangling Stefano. EJ says his father is dead to him, and he can’t live in his home any longer. Melanie and Philip’s lip lock comes to a halt when she slaps him. He’s stunned. She admits to Philip that she wants him, but knows he’s no good for her. She flees to the hospital, where she finds Nathan and Stephanie in a close moment. She declares to Stephanie that she’s made her choice, and her choice is Nathan. Chad learns that Grace was his baby, and that she died. He and Mia go to the grave and mourn their child. After realizing EJ didn’t observed the drug deal, Arianna breaks the news to him that Nicole is out of jail. EJ presses Sami to talk about Sydney’s custody arrangement. EJ confirms Stefano’s role in the baby switch. He reveals to Sami that he intends to break ties with his father, and move out.

Brady accosts Nicole for switching Sami’s baby. She tries to get him to see her point of view. He can’t believe he ever fell in love with her. He tells Nicole he’s going to get her bail revoked. Before he does, however, Nicole needs to make amends to those she’s hurt. Nicole realizes this is true. She goes to the DiMera mansion and overhears Sami and EJ fighting, but what she finds instead is Sydney – alone. Still hurting over her break up, Arianna returns to her room where she haphazardly deposits the drugs. Gabi finds the drugs and calls Rafe. He meets with her and the two fear their sister is up to her old tricks. Hope asks Abe for a job, so she can avoid working with Bo. Carly seeks Maggie’s help concerning her future, as well as a place to live. Later, Carly reconnects with Mia. Meanwhile, Vivian bonds with Victor over their hatred of Carly. Nicole kidnaps the baby. . Nicole sees Gabi and asks for her help to flee Salem with Sydney. She trades Gabi her diamond bracelet for money for a bus ticket. Arianna finds Gabi on the pier and Nicole hides. Arianna grows suspicious. Carly tells Bo that she has asked to move in with Maggie. Bo notes that Carly is planning on moving in with her own daughter, who doesn’t even know Carly exists!

Days Of Our Lives

Which DAYS ‘Undead’ Return Have You Enjoyed the Most … Nick, Charlie or Deimos?

This week in the spirit of Halloween, Days of our Lives has been airing some very devilish episodes, with at its epicenter, the MarDevil’s (Deidre Hall) plot to wreak havoc on the town of Salem by resurrecting some of its all-time bad boys!

MarDevil goes to each of the gravesites of Charlie Dale (Mike Manning), Nick Fallon (Blake Berris) and Deimos Kiriakis (Vincent Irizarry), and literally takes them out of the ground and gets each of them to go after the people that put killed them in the first place.

For Charlie that is Allie (Lindsay Arnold) and for good measure his mother Ava (Tamara Braun) and half-brother, Tripp (Lucas Adams), for Deimos that is Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker), and for Nick, well, he has it in for Gabi (Camila Banus).

Throughout the Monday through Wednesday episodes, viewers watched flashbacks of how each of the bad men were murdered, and how now they have risen to torture their foes.

Blake Berris, Mike Manning, and Vincent Irizarry all looked as those they were having quite the fun time playing the zombie-versions of their once Salem characters.

And as viewers saw, Gabi killed Nick, yet again, after finding Jake (Brandon Barash) buried, Tripp hit Charlie multiple times with a frying pan and cracked and his skull, and Nicole stabbed Deimos … again.  However, of course, no one else in Salem saw the zombies, making it difficult for the very much alive folks to get anyone to believe what just happened to them.

When the dust settled, it left Nicole and Rafe (Galen Gering) getting hot and heavy!

So did you enjoy seeing Blake, Mike, and Vincent again? What character’s undead return did you enjoy the most? Comment below.

DAYS OF OUR LIVES: Abe Goes to the Light While John Faces Off with MarDevil

Monday’s highly-anticipated episode of Days of our Lives did not disappoint. In fact, we think that this episode should be a strong contender for DAYS to consider for one of their Outstanding Drama Series submissions for next year’s Daytime Emmys.  Why? It has it all – emotional heart with Abe’s journey to and from the light, touching flashbacks, a great performance by James Reynolds, and some special effects and editing during the John (Drake Hogesytn) vs. MarDevil scenes, which also gave us a delicious performance by Deidre Hall.

At the start of the episode, Abe has flatlined after being shot as Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) tries to revive him, but they are losing him.  As this is going on, Paulina (Jackée Harry), Julie (Susan Seaforth Hayes) and Eli (Lamon Archey) are gathered at the hospital awaiting news on Abe’s condition.  Later, Eli decides to go find out what is happening with Abe, and gets the shock of his life when he walks in on Abe flatlining, while Kayla tells him that Abe is gone.  Eli implores her to try to bring him back. He tells the others they are working on trying to save Abe, as Julie and Paulina bond, and later, Lani must call Theo and Brandon to let them know about Abe’s condition.

Julie reminisces about Abe, and how they have known each other for 40 years, our wink-wink that this is James Reynolds’ 40th anniversary episode.   Then, we see Abe has gone to the light wearing a white sweater and who should he see but his beloved late wife, Lexie.  No, it’s not Renee Jones, but an actress who delivers Lexie’s lines, since it had been previously reported that Jones was unavailable for the episode.  In scenes with the replacement Lexie, Reynolds showed us why he is an MVP of DAYS.  He acted up a storm and brought the emotion regardless of who was standing there.

However, longtime viewers got a wonderful surprise when flashback clips of scenes between Renee Jones and Reynolds were shown and they were some major moments in the history of Abe and Lexie’s relationship including: the moment when Abe learns Lexie’s pregnant, the moment when he is disgusted by Lexie’s betrayal when he learned of her involvement in the Zack baby switch storyline, and what she did to Bo and Hope, all because she was desperate for a child. Later, it’s the five-hankie moment of when Lexie, who was dying from a brain tumor, passes away in Abe’s arms.

After all the flashbacks, Lexie tells Abe he needs to go back and not to come with her to heaven. He has children, and people who love him and need him. Eventually, he says his goodbyes to Lexie and returns to the present, just as Kayla is about to call his time of death in the hospital room. All of a sudden, Abe’s heart begins to beat.

Kayla brings Julie, Eli, Lani, and Paulina the news that Abe will need surgery, but he will make it.  Then, Paulina and Lani make their way to see him. In another emotional moment, they tell him how much they love him (Paulina looks worried about her lie being exposed that Lani is not really Abe’s bio-daughter).  As the episode comes to its conclusion, we see the back of Lexie making sure Abe is safe and sound among the living, while signifying she is watching over him.

And if that was not enough, this episode also picked up where John had confronted MarDevil in the church, letting Satan knows he is on to him and that he is not going to win … he is going to get Marlena back.  Satan drives home the point that Marlena belongs to him now.  John is mortified as the cross on the church wall turns upside down. Later to show off his prowess and control, MarDevil turns the holy water blood red. As the scene progresses, MarDevil is jumping all over the church and showing up in different spots.

John then gets the lowdown on how Satan struck a deal with Marlena to let Doug (Bill Hayes) live if she let him in.  That is followed, by some of the back-story of Marlena’s first possession over 25 years ago, and why it happened when she was alone and very distraught.  MarDevil even goes on to say that he tried once before to regain control of Marlena during the Salem Serial Killer storyline, but it did not work out that time, because all the victims turned out to be alive.  MarDevil brings up Stefano and how he had made Marlena believe John was dead which left her vulnerable.  He goes on to relate that Doug was the gateway for Marlena’s re-possession.

MarDevil tells John what she did with Doug by committing him and how she wanted to kill Julie. John knows that Marlena can hear him and tries to bring her back, but as the devil struggles with that, ultimately, he wins and begins to show his strength to John tossing him around the church, where he is eventually is knocked unconscious and then dragged to, we don’t know where, by the MarDevil!

Throughout the scenes, Deidre Hall looked like she was having so much fun playing the devilish one in this campy storyline revisited.

So, what did you think of James Reynolds performance and his 40th anniversary episode? What was your favorite moment? Are you glad John knows for certain now that Marlena is once again possessed? Share your thoughts via the comment section below.

DAYS OF OUR LIVES: Marlena Becomes Possessed … Again!

On Tuesday’s episode of Days of our Lives, the devil had his way with his favorite person, Dr. Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall)! In story, leave it to Marlena to save Doug (Bill Hayes) by giving herself up to Satan!

As Doug revealed himself to be Satan while in a therapy session with Marlena in her office, a shook Marlena tries to comprehend what is happening! When the devil says if Marlena won’t accept him in, she will punish Doug, he does just that.

Photo: JPI

Poor Doug is left writhing in pain and on the floor, crying out for help! When we come back to the scene Marlena is not exactly right near his body, but sort of overlooking what is happening. Julie (Susan Seaforth Hayes) rushes into Marlena’s office to find Doug as Marlena stares blankly. Eventually, she calls for help.

After Doug is put in a hospital room and is monitored, Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) and Tripp (Lucas Adams) can’t find anything wrong with him. Meanwhile, Julie finds Marlena at the nurses station and asks what happened with Doug during their therapy session.  Marlena flashes back to what led to Doug writing on the floor, and clearly something is way off with Marlena, because she has now become possessed.

Later, Julie sits by Doug’s hospital bed as he opens his eyes, as he tells his beloved wife, “He left me and went in to her.”  A confused Julie is left to ponder what on earth Doug could be talking about.

When Marlena comes home to John (Drake Hogestyn) – who is already concerned with Johnny (Carson Boatman) being set on making a movie of Sami’s life story which includes points on Marlena’s original possession – she tells him Doug collapsed in her office. When the two hug, Marlena slowly opens her eyes  revealing that they are glowing yellow.  Yup! We are off to the races. Marlena is now once again possessed.

So, what did you think about the scenes between Deidre Hall and Bill Hayes? Are you enjoying the revisiting of the infamous ‘possession’ storyline thus far? Comment below.
