Days Of Our Lives
DAYS Seeking Daytime or Primetime Known Actor For New Role Of "Seth"! Who Would You Suggest?
More casting news out of Salem! NBC’s Days of our Lives is now looking to beef up the mid 40’s to mid 50’s range of characters with a casting call for a character under the name of “Seth”!
According to Soap Opera Digest, “The show is seeking a daytime or prime-time “name actor only” to start shooting in mid-August for the contract role of Seth, who is described as a 45-55 gorgeous male.” More info on the casting call revealed, “All ethnicities. Seth is an outgoing, charismatic extremely handsome man. He is charming and funny but is also opinionated at times, He is very sure of himself which sometimes can be mistaken as arrogance…. The one real chink in his armor is his young son. He is fiercely protective of him. There is some mystery as to their past and he could very well have a darker to his personality when backed into a corner.”
OK DAYS fans, let’s look at the clues … he has a young son… how young? Is the son already on the canvas, or not? Who could this character be linked to romantically? Or, have familial ties too? And finally, the big question, who would you suggest to the casting directors at DAYS of a “name only actor” with previous soap experience or primetime experience, that could fill the role? Comment on you casting choice below!
James Hyde would be perfect 😉
i agree with you on this
Yes, he would be gorgeous with KA!
How about Ronn Moss? Kidding!!!!
Sends like they are trying to cast Patch
I would rather see the show give Wally Kurth a contract, who falls in that same age group!
The same thought went through my head!
Justin, has been so good lately….
really giving Adrienne the riot act… and reading her beads….
Wally Kurth is genuine husband material…. I just adore his presence in Salem.
you could see him playing the game… with his lawyer shutz pa… and his intellect… heck… I love his strong take on Justin… and the possibilities are intriguing… where will the writers take him?
the Kiriakis vs the DiMera’s.
They seriously lack minority characters. I would go with Timothy Stickney
There are no actors who are Asian american that are part of the casts of day soap operas bec of casting calls like this one from days. How the heck can there be a known Asian american day soap opera actor when these ancient day soap operas never even hire Asian american actors to be part of the cast? Isn’t brad the only Asian american character from gh and b&b and y&r and days? Really pathetic! The recurring char of brad on gh is beyond offensive. Stupid hollywood often asexualizes Asian american males and very often portray them as horrid stereotypes while very seldom portray them as romantic leading men. The writing is horrid for the only Asian american character from gh and y&r and b&b and days. Most likely this “known actor” that days hires is going to be white.
No matter WHAT the topic is…you twist it to be about racial diversity and the lack of Asians. Obviously its something you feel passionate about…but really….EVERY topic of EVERY post has to be a rant about racial diversity? I‘m really not trying to be rude here…but the phrase “broken record“ is running through my had. Better idea…start a blog. Rant about it all you want. They‘re very good stress relievers!
How about Jack Wagner…his son is the actor who plays J.Js friend(4got his name) and he will be attracted to Kristen…all just a guess.
Does James Scott have an older brother? 🙂
How about John Paul Lavoisier, Rex from OLTL. He is a great actor and we miss seeing him.
I don’t miss seeing him. Also, he’s not 45-55.
He would be great but he is not that old
Robert Newman – ex-josh, GL.
Ted King – ex-Alcazar, GH.
David Forsyth – ex-john, AW.
Richard Burgi – ex-desperate housewives.
I’d love to see Stephen Schnetzer – ex-Cass, AW.
I agree with Robert Newman the rest are boring
Robert Newman is the best one on this list the rest doesn’t have a name other than Ted King
Stephen Schnetzer might be funny, as he played Julie’s brother, Ben, many years ago. LOL.
He was Julies brother Steven…Ben was the name of Julies father.
Thanks, jimh, for correcting me. I totally got the names mixed up.
No way! He played Steve Olson on DOOL- Julie’s brother.
I think Steven Schnetzer played Steve Olson and Richard Burgi played
a lover of Kimberly’s.
Stephan Schnetzer played Steve Olsen, Julie Williams brother, on DOOLs in the late 70s. Any of your choices would be good.
How about Ben Masters who played Julian Crane on Passions
I don’t think he is in that age bracket.
They want a “name” yet they don’t seem to be able to pay for a “name” so I imagine the role would be short-term.
Not necessarily, maybe they just want the right name and are willing to pay!
Michael Park of course. Look no further people. You want handsome well there you go!!!!
He could work too
Right on!
Love Michael Park! But, the role would have to be a good one, so Days doesn’t waste him!
Great choice:)
This sounds like a younger version of Bo!! Please, let this be Hope’s new love now kill Bo already let PR move on and us fans as well!
Kamar de los Reyes (45)
Real Andrews (50)
Timothy Adams (46)
Keith Hamilton Cobb (51)
Bradley Cole (54)
Tom Eplin (53)
Dan Gauthier (50)
for a few
Kamar De Los Reyes is the best on this list other than Bradley Cole
Kamar De Los Reyes is the best on this list next to Bradley Cole
Great suggestions!
Thank you for picking up on the “all ethnicities” thing. It sounds like DAYS is willing to cast the net wide open for the right, charismatic, gorgeous actor. And most ideas are the same-old, same-old. These are great ideas! Keith Hamilton Cobb is a very good choice.
Kamar also a great choice. He sure brings the sexy 🙂
Tom Eplin would be a decent Bo recast! Too bad Days is too afraid to recast Bo!
Ted King!
Ted King or Roger Howarth(if he wasnt so busy now with oltl AND gh AND californication) would be PERFECT for the part
GRANT ALEXANDER
Too bad Shemar Moore is only 43 yrs. old as he is gorgeous and very talented. Maybe they could lower the age by a few years? He would be great.
I hope to see Steven Schnetzer on DOOL, but only as Steve Olson.
Grant Aleksander would be great!
Mathew Ashford…character description kinda sounds like Jack…back from the dead…
Grant Alexander!
Oh and while they are at it with casting former GL stars, how about Tom Pelphrey as Chad Dimera…Just a few thoughts!
Tom Pelphrey as Chad would be wonderful…he’d bring new dimension to the character…not to mention, Tom can brood with the best of them! A Dimera trait.
Jack Wagner… John Stamos… Rick Hearst… Trevor St. John… Ronn Moss… or Winsor Harmon
Rick hearst played Scott Banning DOOL.
Kerr Smith?
How about Rick Hearst?
Rick Hearst as Scott Banning on DOOL.
This is a direct quote from days casting call for seth: “The one real chink in his armor is his young son. He is fiercely protective of him. There is some mystery as to their past and he could very well have a darker to his personality when backed into a corner.” days shouldn’t use phrase “c word the armor” for casting call. It’s not necessary considering how c word is a racial slur towards chinese americans and even Asian americans as a whole. How strange that c word is used on a casting call for actors of all ethnicities.
Would any soap opera ever use the british term for cigarette? Highly doubtful bec that british term for cigarettes is understood as a homophobic slur. entertainment media would be furious if a char nonchalantly uses a homophobic slur when talking abt a cigarette. days wouldn’t use the british term for cigarettes. days shouldn’t use c word for their casting calls.
Are they replacing Seth Burns, hospital administrtor from the strip club scenes?
John Callahan Edmund from AMC should get the role
I know… just bring back Dr. Baker.
Sounds like Steven Earl Johnson to me.Please,Please,Pretty Please!
I think they should cast Antonio Sabato Jr. who played Jaggar on General Hospital or Ted King that played Tomas on One Life To Live
Vincent Irizarry
Ben Masters from passions should be on days of our lives.

Sydney Malekeh Joins the Cast of ‘Days of Our Lives’ in Mystery Role: Who Do You Think She’s Playing?

There’s a new gal coming to Salem, or is she new and a recast? That’s what inquiring minds from Days of Our Lives fans have been trying to figure out since the Peacock soap opera dropped an Instagram video heralding actress‘ Sydney Malekeh’s arrival in Salem.
The soap did confirm that viewers will first see Malekeh on the September 9 episode. In the video, Malekeh is seen going set to set from her dressing room and in to the halls of Days of Our Lives studios.
What we do know id that Sydney has been acting professionally for 6 years and had appeared on Grey’s Anatomy, Apple TV’s Shrinking and the HBO Max’s The Sex Lives of College Girls.
Plenty of Malekeh’s DAYS castmates jumped into the comment thread with positive emojis symbols or written excitement including: Paul Telfer (Xander), Linsey Godfrey (Sarah), Sal Stowers (Lani), Conner Floyd (Chad), Eric Martsolf (Brady) and Christie Clark (Carrie) and more now that fans will finally see her on-air. Since Days of Our Lives tapes 10-11 months in advance, Sydney would have started taping the show sometime back in 2025.
DAYS fans think perhaps because the actress’ name is Sydney that she might be playing the grown-up daughter of Sami and EJ. That character hasn’t bee on the canvas since 2021.
So, who do you think Sydney Malekeh might be playing on Days of Our Lives? Drop your casting director thoughts via the comment section below.

Peacock Hikes Subscription Rates for Fourth Time in Four Years; ‘Days of Our Lives’ Fans Sound Off

While recently the streaming service Peacock reported turning a profit for its first time since its infancy, now comes word that the company is raising their prices for all customers, and in some cases it stared today on August 18.
The news of the subscription rate increases marks the fourth time the NBCUniversal streaming platform has done so in four years. So, on August 18, Peacock is increasing the prices for new or returning subscribers and customers, while current subscribers will see the rate increase on or after September 17 depending on their billing cycle when they initially signed up.
Here is the new pricing to follow along: Peacock Premium (which includes ads) will be $12.99/month, up two dollars from $10.99; Peacock Premium Plus will be $19.99/month, up three dollars increase from $16.99; and the Peacock Select tier (which includes current and past seasons of NBC and Bravo shows but excludes movies, live sports and Peacock originals) will increase a dollar from $7.99 to $8.99/month.

SUBSCRIBERS CONTINUE TO PAY MORE ACROSS THE STREAMER LANDSCAPE
It was back in June that the streamer reported that aid subscribers were up to 48 million adding a 2 million net gain during Q2 in of 2026. The subscription price hikes are rampant now in the entertainment streaming industry where over the last two years for example, Netflix, HBO Max, Apple TV, Paramount+ have all raised their fees to consumers.
Peacock’s tier-levels feature not only Days of Our Lives, but reality hits such as The Traitors and Love Island USA, Bravo series, and a vault of Saturday Night Live, Law & Order, The Real Housewives franchise, and Below Deck episodes as well. Pecock Premium and Premium Plus subscribers have access to sports and live events, as well.
DAYS OF OUR LIVES SUBSCRIBERS HAD A FEW CHOICE WORDS FOR PEACOCK
As Days of Our Lives fans know, the soap opera moved from NBC to the streamer back in September of 2022 after 57 years on broadcast television. When the news hit X on the price increase, DAYS fans had a lot to say about it. Here are just a few of the comments below:
“I can’t believe Peacock and can’t come to a deal with Cordya to air old episodes of #Days. That alone would bring a ton of subscribers,” to If Peacock actually cared about #Days of Our Lives, gave the show the budget it needs for better sets, cameras, background actors and enough time to tell proper stories, I wouldn’t mind paying more. If the money actually showed on screen, the higher price would be worth it,” to “I will continue to pay for a Peacock subscription as long as #Days is on it, but did we know there was another price increase coming?” and more.
So, what do you think of the new price hike increase to watch Days of Our Lives and your other favorite shows and events on Peacock? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section below.

THE THEMES BEHIND VERONICA & JULIAN
Director Otoja Abit shared this statement on the feature film, “Veronica & Julian is about the right people who have a chance meeting at the wrong time. It’s a look at two people who don’t grow apart—they just grow up. This film is an authentic exploration of an imminent ending and how two people deeply in love got there. It aims to be quiet while telling a relatable story about modern-day relationships.”
Abit continued, “As a society, mainstream romantic films are often delivered through fantastical aspirations. I created this film believing that viewers who have experienced a breakup can relate to Veronica and Julian, depending on their perspective. They’re a couple navigating some of the most familiar obstacles in love: miscommunication, timing and pride.”
He concluded, “It’s a story about endings told through the small moments we often don’t recognize until they’re gone. With the support of the Panavision New Filmmaker Program, I approached the story with a deeper sense of visual control while maintaining the naturalism that defines each character.”
