53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Nominations: Outstanding Lead Actress Drama Series

Monday on Entertainment Tonight, the second set of nominations for the 53rd annual Daytime Emmy Awards were announced which included the highly-coveted Outstanding Lead Performance in a Daytime Drama Series – Actress and Outstanding Daytime Talk Series.
ET followed suit after Extra announced the nominees, as previously reported, in the Outstanding Lead Performance in a Daytime Drama Series – Actor and Outstanding Daytime Talk Host.
Now, five leading ladies of the soaps are vying for the gold for Lead Actress and the category marked the first-ever nominations for CBS daytime’s Beyond the Gates when two actresses made the final cut. Only General Hospital is not represented among the actresses this year after Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis Davis) took home the trophy last year.

I love Wally Kurth as Justin on DAYS!
It was nice of DAYS to allow him to visit GH.
Love him as Ned, but he’s killing it (no pun intended) on Days.
I’m watching Days now–and so glad to see Justin and Adrienne again!
Same here! I love him as Ned too and I love his chemistry with Lisa LoCiero (Olivia)
Tough call here since I loved him as Ned but I have loved his work as Justin these days too (no pun intended).
000oohhh noooo!
Just one day !!
I want more Wally !!
Well, he will not be back and another Q gone.
There is Tracy, Dillon – all that is left of the Q’s.
Monica, she is all but retired, on light duty call.
Good that RC/FV brought Dillion back or the Q’s would be Tracy.
Anyways– Ned will convince Olivia to tell Julian the truth, way I imagine his return.
You want more Wally, su0000? Check him out with Judi Evans as they play Justin and Adrienne comforting their son, Sonny played by Freddie Smith, who is grieving the loss of his husband, Will.
Today’s episode (10-15-15) of DAYS is sure to be another great episode with stellar performances including the aforementioned trio!!!
Thanks, 4ever DAYS ..
I do check in to Days off and on.
I seen Wally in his character with Days, but geeez I still see him as Ned .. lol
Definitely more GH. No doubt about it!
I really like Ned. He is quite a gentleman and I truly enjoy his role. I AM happy for his contract, but would LOVE for Ned to beef up the family role with Olivia.
Wow, I’m surprised that Sony let him go to GH even for a day, but that’s cool.
I love the character of Ned Ashton and Olivia. wish he could visit more often.
Notice how insignificant Olivia is without Ned.
Olivia is going to be far more significant with Julian now that he knows Leo is alive….how I am hoping that revelation will end up with those two together parenting their son and Alexis as the odd-woman out.
He is ok as Ned but like him better on Days where his character Justin is so much better written …dont mind him visiting GH…maybe ha stops Alexis from using the babys pacifier to learn the babys father is Julian or he is responsible for Julian or Alexis learning the truth…oops, that most likely wont happen til next years sweeps…this is GH after alll…lol
It’s wonderful to see two soaps like GH and Days working together cooperatively. I wish they could all work together like that. It will be good to see Wally Kurth back on GH, even if it’s only for one day. GH made a big mistake not putting him under contract when they had the chance. I was really starting to like Ned and Olivia together as a couple.
i wish he could do more GH, i feel he’s more ned, then justin, his chemistry with everyone over at GH is on mark. its only my opinion, but the ned role seems more fun.
I appreciate DAYS loaning Wally out for a day. At first, I was disappointed with GH for not securing Wally as Ned on a contract, however, Wally is killing it on DAYS as Justin, and he has a contract!!! Everything is as it should be. He works so well with Judi Evans and I love his connection with Kassie DePaiva. Justin is needed in Salem, DAYS definitely is a better gig right now for Wally. Just my opinion.
hi Jeremy..
Did Wally want a contract?
I thought he was freelancing between soaps wanting to be a free agent.
Days offered him a contract and he took it. That’s why he left GH.
I miss Wally Kurth. I would like for him to come back to GH. GH also needs to bring back Michael Easton. GH should have never gotten rid of either of these men. I was liking Ned and Olivia together.
I understand that you miss Wally as Ned, but if you tune into DAYS today, you’ll see him as Justin, comforting his grieving son.
They should let him do both.
he did do both for a while but now he is under contract with dool & unfortunately they won’t allow it………………..
Quite happy to see him on Days of our Lives as that is the soap I am watching now but back in the day I really enjoyed his portrayal of Ned Ashton…
Can’t blame him for moving over to DAYS given the poor treatment of the Quartermaines on GH. Always liked him as Ned.
Yes!
Was so happy when I read your headline…lol…til I realized I jumped the gun. Only one day…sigh. Love Wally as Ned. He just brings a warm, fuzzy, albeit sexy, vibe to the character. Realizing he’s got a contract with DAYS I don’t expect him back again anytime sooon, but I’ll take what I can get.
I like him on Days, but wish Adrienne and Justin would get back together.
with Sonny, gone… it would be nice to see any of their 3 other sons.
sons: Alexander Kiriakis, Sonny Kiriakis
adopted sons: Joey Kiriakis, Victor Kiriakis II
bring one of them home… flesh out this soupercouple
That’s what I thought too–that they should bring on more of their sons.
So grateful that Days was generous enough to share. He is great on Gh will miss he and Olivia they were a great couple. This is where killing off ME’s character was a mistake because I think ME and LL would have real sexy chemistry. Silas would have protected the baby from the mob too.
I’ll take him for a day and hope for two! Ned is so important to GH. Can you imagine Ned going toe to toe with Paul!
I don’t watch days, so want him 2 return to gh!! Love his soft soothing voice.
Timmm..
GH neds Wally/Ned..
The core family is down to 2- Tracy and Dillon..
The Q’s need Ned to survive!
yes! having Wally beckwith GH is a matter of life and death !!
I love his soft, flowing hair even with touches of grey!
Really great to see two soaps working together like this. Glad Days and Sony allowed Wally to tape these GH scenes. While the two shows are competitors in some form they are also teh 2 of the last 4 remaining soaps so better to work together on something like this. Look forward to seeing Ned on Monday’s GH episode
I agree. The last four need to realize that making ALL four shows stronger can help save daytime instead of thumbing your nose. Most of the actors know each other and the older ones have worked together on one show or another so they dont have any reservations.
I love Wally, his acting always seems so effortless. I actually started watching DOOL to be able to see him. The show is so-so, but it’s interesting enough to keep watching to see Wally!
for me, it’s whatever is best for Mr. Kurth. He must be thrilled to be on contract at Days and that must be important to him and his family. Thanks to Days for letting him make an appearance on GH.
