DAYSaster Stunners! A Sneak Peek At What Will Happen When DAYS returns!

Courtesy/NBC

There are going to be some very significant changes to the canvas when Days of our Lives returns next Monday, August 13th following the conclusion of the Summer Olympics on NBC with the aftermath of their DAYSaster!

EW.com got their hands on an exclusive video promo that gives DAYS viewers some SPOILERS or perhaps, its just some well edited teasers,  but what ever the case this looks juicy! And this  should continue the upward ratings Days of our Lives had shortly before it went on hiatus for the games in London.

Here is what we know!

Jack looks to be the person stuck in the elevator when it collapses!  Since Matt Ashford is exiting the show, could they finally kill Jack Deveraux? Or will he go MIA?  Brady looks a mess and is distraught for not being there for someone, a female.  (Could it be Sarah Brown as Madison, who is also exiting the series?)

In the romance department; EJ and Sami share a kiss, but then it appears Rafe arrests Sami!  Sonny makes a pass at Will and the duo almost kiss!  However, the thing that has got us all intrigued is what appears to be a kidnapped EJ tied up by an angry and vengeful Ian who reveals something behind a curtain!  Could it be Stefano? What or who is there?

Elsewhere, Daniel seems to rescue Nicole and her baby, and Melanie and Chad seem to reunite, but make sure to watch the preview at EW.com and then let us know what you are looking forward to most, but most of all, what do you think is happening in the main plot points here!

I hope Cameron gets killed. I hope Jack isn’t killed. Wish he weren’t leaving. The Melanie story went on for too long. I look forward to Stefano and Maxine’s return!

Matthew’s return was hyped into nothing. I was nothing but annoyed with Jack from the moment he returned.

The problem was taking the direction of that story wrong from the start with the Jennifer dating game. I’m angry that I didn’t get the story for Jack that I should have. He’s just about the only character left on the show with a personality. Sorry you had to be annoyed for 5 minutes/month, but I’m constantly annoyed with all the generic characters with insta love right and left and nothing of substance. I was so excited for Matt Ashford’s return, and Days just disappointed.

Pretty predictable outcomes. I know DAYS put in their best effort for this DAYSASTER, and I love this show so much, but they don’t do these sort of things well. GH, for all its faults and as much as I rag on it, THAT’S a show that knows how to put on a showstopping episode. The Fridays episode didn’t get me too excited, and this preview didn’t help either. Hoping that end of August/September gets better, as some of the actors have attested to. So sad to see Matt Ashford go, and even Sarah Brown who could have given a… Read more »

Saw Ian Buchanan @ WB Studios last week sporting a full beard. Doesn’t look like he’s heading back to General Hospital to me.

Glad that Days will be back. I watch it at the gym, it helps the workout lol.

And great that the new team of writers (Lorraine Broderick!) and exec producer is behind the show when it returns Monday!

Very interesting can’t wait to see what develops. If it does turn out that Stephano is alive BIg Surprise as if we wouldn’t have already known that. This however makes no sense to me how could Jack be in the elevator when it clearly showed Abby in there?Unless she changes into a man which i hardly doubt that will happen. When was Nicole suppose to have had her baby anyway.I hope that Sarah stays but it doesn’t look that way .I knew that SOnny had the hots for Will nothing wrong with that.I cannot wait until MOnday.6 more days that is just to… Read more »

The upcoming return is totally amazing. I know someone who watched DAYS the Friday prior to its break, and they cannot wait. It’s creating amazing momentum. It’s going to be amazing!!!! Best soap opera on air currently, and best summer storyline to date for any soap this year!!!

DAYS’aster Stunner! The Towering Inferno! Must See… Maggie – Abe – Jack – EJ. Maggie and Victor. This Supercouple… is IMO… The Couple that Binds Salem. The couple that, replace, if you will…. carrying the torch for Salem… ala, complimenting Alice and Tom Horton. Maggie tears up… “I think I’m Happy.” she’s telling Nicole… who was summoned by Victor. Suzanne Rogers, has gained my respect… she carried the show… before DOOL 2.0 started… and the advent of return STARS.. who’re now all but gone. save for John and Marlena… Thank God! Maggie retained the Horton Legacy and Star Turned in… Read more »

If Safe get together again and all this Ejami build up is for nothing I AM CERTAINLY GONNA BE DONE WITH DAYS! Six years of Ejami fans being pushed from pillar to pillar is enough. The previous writers took the time to clear so much history which was standing in their way for what? For the new writers to dismiss it all and go back to what we had before? Safe and Ejole…. what a big let down. How Sami could even think about going back to a man who was in love with her sister, initmate with her and… Read more »

Surely there will not be a SAFE reunion! Let’s pair Rafe with Hope after Bo’s departure or with anybody for that matter, except Sami. EJAMI rock!

ITA!!!! If all this build up since the “grief sex” last year was all for nothing I will be greatly disappointed. Ejami’s “so called chemistry” is off the charts!!! Safe and Lumi are boring. Lumi-been there, done that. I want to slap him every time he is in a scene. Safe-ugh! Sorry, but Galen Gering is a sucky actor, especially in comparison to James “you’re sooo hot!!” Scott.

49th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards: General Hospital, B&B’s John McCook and Y&R’s Mishael Morgan Take Top Honors

Friday night, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences’ (NATAS) 49th annual Daytime Emmy Awards were handed out in 15 categories on a live telecast on CBS and streaming on Paramount+.  When the dust settled, it was ABC’s General Hospital who took the night’s top prize for Outstanding Daytime Drama Series.

This marks GH’s continued record-breaking number of wins in this category and brings it up to 15 victories for the iconic show, which is currently in its 59th year on the air.  GH’s executive producer, Frank Valentini accepted the award on behalf of everyone connected with the show, when Drew Barrymore presented the final award of the night.

The night also brought with it the historic win of The Young and the Restless’ Mishael Morgan (Amanda Sinclair). The actress became the first black actress in Daytime Emmy history to ever take home the Lead Actress Daytime Emmy.  In the emotional highpoint of the evening, in terms of acceptance speeches and significance, Morgan spoke to the current generation breaking glass ceilings.

Morgan expressed: “We are breaking glass ceilings left right and center and I am so honored to be a vessel and to experience this moment. Everybody out there today, we can do this thing called equality and unity together.”  In her speech, Mishael shared: “I was born on a tiny island in the Caribbean, and I’m now standing on an international stage and I am being honored regardless of the color of my skin, regardless of my passport, for being the best at what I do, Now there are little girls around the world and no matter what the industry, the vocation they can strive to be the best.”

Veteran actor, John McCook who has played Eric Forrrester on The Bold and the Beautiful for over 35 years, finally won his first ever Emmy after four previous nominations in the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series.

The Supporting Actor and Actress in a Drama Series trophies went to two standouts from General Hospital, Kelly Thiebaud (Britt) and Jeff Kober (Cyrus), while Nicholas Alexander Chavez (Spencer), added another mantle to the GH trophy case with his first win for Outstanding Younger Performer.

Days of our Lives writing team led by Ron Carlivati took home the gold for Outstanding Writing in a Drama Series, while GH won for Direction.

The biggest winner in terms of total gold belonged to The Kelly Clarkson Show. When all was said and done, between the Creative Arts ceremonies held last weekend, and last night, the talk show took home 7 awards including: Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show and Talk Show Host. General Hospital followed with five total wins for Daytime Emmys 2022.

The ceremonies featured DAYS Suzanne Rogers (Maggie) anchoring the Lifetime Achievement Award presentation to her longtime co-star John Aniston (Victor), who was not present, with the help of John’s daughter, Jennifer Aniston, who was seen on tape.

Susan Lucci (Ex-Erica, All My Children) made her first public appearance since the passing of her beloved husband, Helmut Huber and introduced the In Memoriam segment.  Grammy-winner Michael Bolton performed his classic tune “How Am I Supposed to Live Without You” during the tribute.

Entertainment Tonight’s Kevin Frazier and Nischelle Turner were the hosts for the telecast, and with the overturning of the Supreme Court Roe vs. Wade decision on everyone’s mind last night, Turner gave a nod to how she and so many others felt, when Frazier told her how nice she looked in her dress. Nishcelle commented, “I chose this dress. It was my choice.”  That moment received huge applause from the audience in attendance.

Check out the full winners circle list from last night’s 49th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards below.
