DAYSaster Stunners! A Sneak Peek At What Will Happen When DAYS returns!

Courtesy/NBC

There are going to be some very significant changes to the canvas when Days of our Lives returns next Monday, August 13th following the conclusion of the Summer Olympics on NBC with the aftermath of their DAYSaster!

EW.com got their hands on an exclusive video promo that gives DAYS viewers some SPOILERS or perhaps, its just some well edited teasers,  but what ever the case this looks juicy! And this  should continue the upward ratings Days of our Lives had shortly before it went on hiatus for the games in London.

Here is what we know!

Jack looks to be the person stuck in the elevator when it collapses!  Since Matt Ashford is exiting the show, could they finally kill Jack Deveraux? Or will he go MIA?  Brady looks a mess and is distraught for not being there for someone, a female.  (Could it be Sarah Brown as Madison, who is also exiting the series?)

In the romance department; EJ and Sami share a kiss, but then it appears Rafe arrests Sami!  Sonny makes a pass at Will and the duo almost kiss!  However, the thing that has got us all intrigued is what appears to be a kidnapped EJ tied up by an angry and vengeful Ian who reveals something behind a curtain!  Could it be Stefano? What or who is there?

Elsewhere, Daniel seems to rescue Nicole and her baby, and Melanie and Chad seem to reunite, but make sure to watch the preview at EW.com and then let us know what you are looking forward to most, but most of all, what do you think is happening in the main plot points here!

my question is… WHAT HAPPENED TO BO?! 😛

The promo is so freaking awesome! Can’t wait to see how it all plays out! And EJami kiss? OMG! WIlson kisses? OMFG!

I hope Cameron gets killed. I hope Jack isn’t killed. Wish he weren’t leaving. The Melanie story went on for too long. I look forward to Stefano and Maxine’s return!

I LOVE Jack, all the way back to the 80’s. Can not believe they let Matt Ashford go AGAIN!!!!

Losing Matt Ashford is a huge screw up!

Matthew’s return was hyped into nothing. I was nothing but annoyed with Jack from the moment he returned.

The problem was taking the direction of that story wrong from the start with the Jennifer dating game. I’m angry that I didn’t get the story for Jack that I should have. He’s just about the only character left on the show with a personality. Sorry you had to be annoyed for 5 minutes/month, but I’m constantly annoyed with all the generic characters with insta love right and left and nothing of substance. I was so excited for Matt Ashford’s return, and Days just disappointed.

I think the big s/l will be that after 6 long years we will get #EJAMI EJ and Sami together at last!

I think Ian B is being freed so Duke can head back to PC!!!

there will be a EJ and Sami for a very short time, and then it will be EJ and Nicole and baby 🙂 just as it should be,
as for as Sami,I wish she would die,Im sick of her hoging up all the air time,
I love LUMILY,and If I cant have that,I dont want Sami at all.

I agree!!!!

disagree

Absolutely!

Pretty predictable outcomes. I know DAYS put in their best effort for this DAYSASTER, and I love this show so much, but they don’t do these sort of things well. GH, for all its faults and as much as I rag on it, THAT’S a show that knows how to put on a showstopping episode. The Fridays episode didn’t get me too excited, and this preview didn’t help either. Hoping that end of August/September gets better, as some of the actors have attested to.
So sad to see Matt Ashford go, and even Sarah Brown who could have given a lot to the show.

Saw Ian Buchanan @ WB Studios last week sporting a full beard. Doesn’t look like he’s heading back to General Hospital to me.

Glad that Days will be back. I watch it at the gym, it helps the workout lol.

And great that the new team of writers (Lorraine Broderick!) and exec producer is behind the show when it returns Monday!

Very interesting can’t wait to see what develops. If it does turn out that Stephano is alive BIg Surprise as if we wouldn’t have already known that. This however makes no sense to me how could Jack be in the elevator when it clearly showed Abby in there?Unless she changes into a man which i hardly doubt that will happen. When was Nicole suppose to have had her baby anyway.I hope that Sarah stays but it doesn’t look that way .I knew that SOnny had the hots for Will nothing wrong with that.I cannot wait until MOnday.6 more days that is just to long but we have no choice. They better not diappoint us considering we had to sit through the olympics for two weeks ,oh I nevwer watched them .they should have been on another network,go for it will.

The upcoming return is totally amazing. I know someone who watched DAYS the Friday prior to its break, and they cannot wait. It’s creating amazing momentum. It’s going to be amazing!!!! Best soap opera on air currently, and best summer storyline to date for any soap this year!!!

WilSon and Safe!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The digest reports a Safe reunion approaching! But I miss Lumi already:(

So disgusted that Jack’s being killed off AGAIN. Really turns me off the show.

DAYS’aster Stunner! The Towering Inferno!

Must See… Maggie – Abe – Jack – EJ.

Maggie and Victor. This Supercouple… is IMO… The Couple that Binds Salem. The couple that, replace, if you will…. carrying the torch for Salem… ala, complimenting Alice and Tom Horton. Maggie tears up… “I think I’m Happy.” she’s telling Nicole… who was summoned by Victor.

Suzanne Rogers, has gained my respect… she carried the show… before DOOL 2.0 started… and the advent of return STARS.. who’re now all but gone. save for John and Marlena… Thank God! Maggie retained the Horton Legacy and Star Turned in the demise of our beloved matriarch Gran… Alice Horton. She’s radiant as the “new” mother Horton. She’s so beside herself, on the state of her SON Daniel and her granddaughter Melanie. She’s keeping in line Victor.. and holding him accountable… and it’s truly endearing to see this twosome… win our hearts.

JACK – His Paternal side, was more than evident for his little girl Abby. He pinky swears and tells Abby he loves her. I’ve never seen this side of him… and it was heartbreaking… what we could have had. Abby, IMO, is in fine form… along with Will… as the younger generation of STARS… that have made their mark in Salem. Geez! you could see in his face the love he has for both Jenn and Abby. The ramifications and fallout… for Abby is much to do, Jacks last words… to Abby, you’ll always be my little girl. I don’t know what to think… is it Jack or Abby who was in the elevator? I thought Jack was going on a book tour? the potential for Jack and Adrienne to have story would have been fantastic… I hope, Jack survives… Fan Upset.. is imminent. it’s something to not have Jack and Bo… for Hope and Jenn… ???? how do we disbend belief.. that they move forward without the love of their lives? Oye… I understand it’s a soap… and i do not FF thru DAYS questioning the quality… ITS my soap.

ABE – “I miss you like crazy sweetheart”. Abe is commemorating… A tribute to Lex, and a fundraiser for autism… Nice mention from Abe… “in the last few months… Theo is coming out of his shell”. was fun to watch Abe beaming at the memory of Lex. and was cute of Kayla to ask Abe if his dance card was filled… as they danced to Lex’s favorite song… “I only have eyes, for you”.

EJ – was telling… how Sammi and Will… came to EJ’s rescue. Sammi finds the bail money for EJ.. and EJ is released, but, has to wear an ankle bracelet… however, the person who is blackmailing EJ… framing, EJ.. for the murder of his father… strikes.. and Sammi and Will tell EJ he has to RUN… Will, figures out how to disarm the GPS ankle bracelet.. but, to no avail… don’t get very far… what was amazing… was when Will brought the twins to say goodbye to EJ… the look Sammi gave Will.. was incredible… a meeting of the minds… an understanding… about all they’ve been thru… Sammi and Will… it brought them that bond that, I, and fans.. have wanted for mother and son… to realize. it was also a catalyst.. for Sammi and EJ… EJ was sharing earlier, that he was without family… and lo and behold, this cliff-hanger… led us to believe.. that EJ… was having that new family moment.. with the comaraderie of Will and the ongoing tryst that he and Sammi, belong…

——————————

Marlena made me laugh… as she and John are about to attend Brady and Madison’s Nuptuals… She asks Madison…”Are you feeling gun shy?” LOL… isn’t this aching for the ultimate upcoming feature… between… Marlena/John/Kristen? it was touching to hear Madison, thank John and Marlena for sharing Brady…

DAYS is figuring pominently in daytime… all i can say… to free press my show.

Cheers to ENJOYING DOOL and GH. Standing O’vation.

GO EJAMI!!!!!!!

If Safe get together again and all this Ejami build up is for nothing I AM CERTAINLY GONNA BE DONE WITH DAYS! Six years of Ejami fans being pushed from pillar to pillar is enough. The previous writers took the time to clear so much history which was standing in their way for what? For the new writers to dismiss it all and go back to what we had before? Safe and Ejole…. what a big let down.
How Sami could even think about going back to a man who was in love with her sister, initmate with her and ready to commit and settle down with her is beyond me. Austin/Lucas/Rafe have all been guilty of the same thing…. being in love with Carrie. And for Rafe or Lucas to even consider being with Sami when EJ played such a major part in their marriages and in fact Ejami’s inabilitiy to stay away from each other and keep their hands off each other is also the reason Lumi/Safe marriages ended is CRAZY!

Surely there will not be a SAFE reunion! Let’s pair Rafe with Hope after Bo’s departure or with anybody for that matter, except Sami. EJAMI rock!

ITA!!!! If all this build up since the “grief sex” last year was all for nothing I will be greatly disappointed. Ejami’s “so called chemistry” is off the charts!!! Safe and Lumi are boring. Lumi-been there, done that. I want to slap him every time he is in a scene. Safe-ugh! Sorry, but Galen Gering is a sucky actor, especially in comparison to James “you’re sooo hot!!” Scott.

i am so sad meline left i loved and still love her as a charecter and actor. days is borning now i think christen should get kidnaped or somthing like that should happen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Days Of Our Lives

Stephen Schnetzer Talks On His Return to Days of our Lives and Working with Susan Seaforth Hayes In Emotional Episodes

Who says you can’t go home again? In the case of Another World favorite, Stephen Schnetzer (ex-Cass Winthrop), he has proven that it is true, and you can go back to your soap roots and where it all started for you.

Last week on April 11th, Schnetzer, along with several other key returns were on set at Days of our Lives taping all-new episodes of the Peacock streaming soap opera, centering on the funeral of Doug Williams (the late Bill Hayes), and as part of the iconic soap opera’s 15,000th episode.

Stephen is reprising his first daytime role as Steve Olson, the brother of Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes). The last time Schnetzer appeared on a DAYS set was during his one and only run on the show from 1978 to 1980. Clearly, viewers will be in for some very emotional scenes when Steve returns to Salem to be there for his sister, Julie in her time of need. In real-life, Susan has been going through her own grief, having just lost Bill back on January 12th at the age of 98.

Photo: NBC

Michael Fairman TV caught up with Stephen during the 15K episode celebration ceremony, and during a break from taping the gut-wrenching funeral scenes, to get his thoughts on being part of these highly-anticipated moments that will air later this year in December. Here’s what he shared with us below.

What has this been like for you to work with Susan Seaforth Hayes after all of these years?

STEPHEN: She’s a dream and she’s so bright. We ran lines yesterday and we ended up just visiting for about 45 minutes and just catching up and telling tales about each other’s career. She even dropped off the autobiography that she and Bill did. And being back here at DAYS, every time I turn a corner, there’s another familiar face. When I was on the show 40 more years ago, a bunch of the guys, played softball on a team together. This is really a trip down memory lane as I knew it would be.

Photo: JPI

Taping Doug’s funeral must be a hard day for Susan. Are you checking in with her to help hold her up through this?

STEPHEN: I am and I’m checking in with Amy Shaughnessy (Susan’s assistant), and she’s holding her up more than anybody. We’re there for each other.

There will obviously be some major hankie-inducing moments when Steve comes back to Salem to console his sister.

STEPHEN: Oh, wait till you see it in December. It’s going to be great.

Were you surprised you got this call to come back to the show decades later?

STEPHEN: It was out of the blue! I was completely surprised. They should have called me decades ago! That’s what surprised me. When Another World went down, I thought I’d land somewhere else and it never happened. That was more of a surprise.

Photo: JPI

Cass is such an identifiable character for you. As well, you and Linda Dano (ex-Felicia Gallant) are so synonymous together as best friends Cass and Felicia from Another World. When fans heard you were reprising your role as Steve Olson on DAYS, they are now hoping there will be more of you on the show to come.

STEPHEN: Steven Olson is a real “Cassian “character. I cut my teeth on Steve Olson and that’s how Cass was introduced. He was kind of a roguish charmer. And then when the character stuck for Another World, they rehabilitated me, and turned me into one of the shows heroes. And that’s what would’ve happened if I stayed as Steve Olson probably. So, Steve is the ‘pre-Cass’, Cass.

Photo: JPI

As the story goes, you originally decided to leave Days of our Lives?

STEPHEN: I was never on contract. I was doing a day and a half a week and I got a Broadway play directed by Franco Zeffirelli starring Joan Plowright and Frank Finlay. I was able to it as I didn’t have to break a contract or anything. I cut loose and went back to New York for that.

How well did you get to know Bill Hayes during your first time around on DAYS?

STEPHEN: My first episode was with Bill and Susan, as her long lost brother coming into Salem. They were so good to me. They were so kind. I had been doing eight years of classical repertory theater, never been in front of a camera. I tell everybody, it took me longer than any other actor I’ve ever seen to get comfortable in front of a camera. And they were very supportive at that time in my career. Coming back to honor Bill now in 2024, and to be see Susan, I am just so happy to be here.

Looking forward to seeing the scenes between Stephen and Susan Seaforth Hayes come December and Doug’s funeral and surrounding episodes? Do you hope that DAYS might bring the character of Steve Olson back for a longer stay? Comment below.
