Eric Braeden Teases: “Lot of Interesting Stuff Coming Up on Y&R Involving a Cast of Known Characters Including Yours Truly!”
The icon himself, Eric Braeden (Victor Newman) of The Young and the Restless, sent out a tweet on Monday that hsd been garnering plenty of attention from fans of the number one soap.
Braeden teases: “Lot of interesting stuff coming up on Y&R involving a cast of known characters including your’s truly!”
Speculation has begun that with Eric’x upcoming 40th anniversary with the series that the story could be heavily tied to Victor Newman!
The good news from Eric is that the whatever is coming is definitely going to include the characters you have come to love over the years, and the vets.
His tweet received response from fans that included: “I cant wait! Victor putting ppl in their place ” You got that Punk ! ” to “‘I’ll be damned!’ It’s about time! Hooray! Thanks for the good news, Eric.” to “Yeah Eric.. we know your anniversary episodes are coming up soon! So excited to see them! You deserve a whole year of episodes,: and many more.
So, intrigued to see what story plays out that includes Victor and performances by the stellar cast of Y&R? Comment below.
The hearings have been on, no soaps, and I havent missed Y&R ONE bit! I hope Eric is right AND THE SHOW STARTS BECOMING INTERESTING AGAIN!
Here is my impeachment list for Y&R:
Theo
Devon
Fake Hillary [Must be that name!]
Messa [Tessa!]
Rey
Here is my reinstatement list:
Billy-Who is this guy?
Phyllis-Grow up!
Elena-She is a talented actress. They wasted her on GH and now they are wasting her on Y&R!
Timmm, I love that Theo is atop your list and I agree with everything you say, though I’d swap Rey for Elena.. she is a good actress but wasted on Dreary Devon. Maybe toss in Chance too… He couldn’t act his way out of a paper bag. An actor should be more than nice hair.
Awww, come on, you’d run your fingers through Chance’s hair!
No way, Timmm. Hair-wise, I’ll take Nick or Kyle any day. Or night. How about Theo’s rat’s nest? Surgical gloves, please!
Two good choices AND yes, Theo is a grease ball!
LOL, Soaphound—I agree—love Nick’s hair—and, I’m starting to like Kyle’s pompador-do. It’s back!! My husband actually sports a mini pomp!! I don’t know if I like it yet. LOL.
LOL, T, —I do not like Chance; nor his fake hair. Abby is getting on my nerves as well, lately—-she never seems to learn her lesson with men. Then again, I am not too ‘fond’ of bed-hopping. One’s enough for me—HaHa. I suppose I am well-satisfied! PRRRR.
Their unsteamy interlude did nothing for me–neither of them is sexy—–at this juncture; the sexiest woman on soaps is Ava Jerome–and her counterpart? Nikolas. I don’t know what it is about this guy—he just…well, you know!! LOL.
C., I’m with you on Ava & naughty Nikolas. Can’t wait to see where it goes (besides the boudoir). That and Nelle returning are the things keeping me happy. I’m on Peter Puke overload. Now he wants to off Jason and Spinelli? Enough of this dodo bird!
Yes!! I admire Nelle her spunk and in-your-face audacity. She definitely has something to say—especially to Carly—looking forward to seeing that.
I do agree with Joe, though—Is Nelle back for good? If so, let’s get the plots moving with Wiley, Brad, Willow as Nina’s daughter ( and possibly Sasha’s twin)—-I don’t feel as foolish knowing someone else thinks Willow is Nina’s. Jimh had agreed with me, too.
These stories should finally have an ending. I’ve missed a few episodes, yet I didn’t really miss a thing. It seems that, except for the mafia-wars, everything is frozen in place.
I also heard, through the grapevine, Helena is “returning”—not sure if in spirit or in physical form.
The Sonny/Carly/Jason/Sam saga is a vicious circle—repetitive, dry, insipid, unpalatable and redundant. We know what will happen. Sonny and Jason will be the heroes, when all this idiocy is said and done….with Carly and Sam fawning over them. And Sonny has custody of Avery???? O-K—right….
I like Chance and Abby together. Look at it this way, remember Lulu on GH used to play Abby on Y&R. What a disaster! I think this Abby is much better. Bed hopping? Not a fan but its a soap! I look at Abby, Phyllis and Chelsea as the female Three Stooges! Its funny to watch them bumble over each other!
Sexiest female. Ava isnt a bad choice but she is a drunk! I cannot beleive you like NuNick. I cannot stand him. He ruined the character’s comeback! Also, he has no sex appeal. Jax is the man! I like Willow. She isnt sexy but cute.
LOL, T—-Nikolas is not my type–I like the tall, broad-shouldered type. But, as I said on another comment, there’s something about Marcus—the Italian half of him stirs the imagination and senses—-..can’t put my finger on it. It’s one of things, I guess–Marcus has the goods for me. To each his/her own, I guess.
Those full, well-shaped lips beckon. I’ll stop there—-I’m a good girl–HaHa.
As far as Abby, I know you’ve always liked her. I do, too—-far cry from Emme. But, the PTB are not doing her justice, either. She is reduced to a mere failure with men—her possibilities keep getting curtailed. It’s like ye gods don’t know what her place is or what to do with her. Every male newcomer seems to have a spin with her which eventually falls into oblivion….Not the character’s fault.
Ava may be a drunk—but what a drunk she makes!! Every move, every word, every sinew, every look is perfection in motion. And, there’s sexual tension in the air. Wait and see. She and Nikolas may be going through the motions for the sake of others; but the wantonness and sensuality is omnipresent when together. Don’t you see the sparks whenever any parts of their bodies touch? LOL. Their fingertiips? Their cheeks? Even when their eyes lock, I see “fiyah”—!!
I am telling you, T—this is acting acting to the core—-they’ve got IT!!
Maura better win again—-or else. LOL.
I know we may be in a minority right now, Celia, but Marcus gets my blood, uh, boiling too. I’d spend a week in that hair alone. And his voice is sexy, too, like my great passion, Billy Miller. And Maura West get keeps getting better… this story seems to have REALLY lit a fire in her. Can you blame her? I, too, like Melissa Ordway but feel that Abby is backsliding into yet ANOTHER man with secrets. And the nuChance actor is not on her level, either.
Hey, Soaphound,
So glad someone sees what I see.
Ahhhh—Billy, where art thou, Billy?!?!?!
I know what you mean….yum!!
No one compares to Maura—I have such a girl-crush on her—as I do on Stafford. But, it’s slowly fading. Msura is on my pedestal now. LOL.
I actually feel badly for Abby. She deserves better. I do not like this Chance. Do you remember the last actor who played Chance? He was another Adonis—-this new guy is too “Tarzan-ish” looking—in a bad way—“Ain’t” ‘gonna’ last either.
Then, there’s Kyle. It seems that the writers took a page from my book, with all due respect and humility.
When the ‘romance’ between Lola and Kyle began, I verbalized the exact words Kyle ‘repeated’ to Jack —–
Why the turnabout?? Perhaps, it’s to give Theo meat? It won’t matter—not to me. Plus, I still think he has an agenda…..Not Jack’s nephew.
I’m telling your husband on you! LOL!
HaHa, T—-harmless words—
I vocalize my thoughts—-
Captivating one’s interest doesn’t always have to be good looks….a great personality, good sense of humor etc. go a long way, albeit Marcus/Nikolas is simply too sexy.
We do admire works of art—not always perfect. Sometimes, the imperfection is what makes someone or something unique—eg. LA GIOCONDA—not a beautiful woman—thin lips, aquiline nose—yet, that mysterious smile draws the admirer in. Yes??
More to the point, as jaded as Ava is, Nikolas is a wolf. Reminds me of Little Red Riding Hood ( song by Sam the Sham) which my husband has been singing to me since I was fourteen. LOL. And, calls me a spitfire, to boot.
We all know Ava is no innocent babe in the woods, but she certainly seems to lose all her defenses against the WOLF!!
Did you notice how discombobulated she was after their seemingly fake, intimate interlude, at the hospital? She was visibly shaken and confused by her reaction to Nikolas—-as if her own body betrayed her. She instinctively responded to his touch. That’s what I call superlative acting. Love this woman’s skill!!
You are such an old soul! Pulling Sam the Sham out of thin air! Great stuff! Ava is going to tease Nick into cheating and or hire a women to seduce him in order to inherit the Cassadine fortune!
I’m glad you mentioned this, Timmm. For a minute, I thought Sam the Sham referred to Sam Morgan’s private eye abilities. My bad.
Oh, Lordy-Lord, Soaphound!! I just noticed your post. Too funny—very fitting, eh? Sam The Sham Morgan. It took Epiphany to shake Sam out of her teen-age-head-in-the-clouds. A mother in her forties acting like a lovesick …uh, “puppy” in the first throes of adolescent love.
Private eye? Her eye’s on Jason—it seems everyone (and everything) else is of no conswquence. Mamma mia.
I guess I AM an old soul, T—thanks to my Gran who is still a flower-child at heart. I grew up listening to her music—60’s and 70’s—including THE DOOR, VANILLA FUDGE, QUEEN, BLACK SABBATH, IRON BUTTERFLY, FREE etc.– and, much of the 80’s–all of it!!
As far as Hunter King, I did read about her new venture. I hope she stays on Y&R—-I am finally fond of the character. Summer has grown up—selfless, at last.
Perhaps she and Kyle will take off on a business trip together ( for the time of Hunter’s filming) —or taking off to places unknown —to gather their thoughts, to re-connect and to concentrate on their feelings and future?
DOOL is ridding itself of so many faves, T—-Fingers crossed the same doesn’t happen at Y&R.
Can you believe WE finally like Summer and she may leave??? She has grown up. I still dont like this Kyle but what can you do. Lola can do much better. Not a fan of Rey BUT, I do like the way he laid into Kyle. Good scene! Have a LOVEly Valentines Day!
I have never liked Kyle, T—-except for his hair. I don’t find him oh-so-hunky either, albeit many do.
Rey is slowly ‘coming around’ for me—-a big jump from the character (Dario) he played on Days. However, I am in agreement with many who said that both Y&R and DOOL are fahhlliiing—downhill trend, if you ask me.
The DoorS–oops.
PS…I like the idea of having Hayley Erin back, T. Great idea!!
Yesssss, Timmmy!! Every word, every phrase, every thought is on target.
You know how much I love Stafford, but her character is now bordering on the ridiculous.
Theo needs to go….Devon is of no import except waiting around until Colin is “captureed”?? Bah!!
Billy makes me sick…..spoiled brat that he is. He really needs to grow up. So far, Victor is the only one who makes the show bearable ( and Mariah)….I hope Tessa never comes back
For interest sake: I said, from the onset, that Kyle and Lola would not last—-it was a passing fancy for Kyle because Lola was “different”—-apart from what his elite life represented. I also said, Kyle and Summer would end up together again soon enough.
I don’t know why Amanda was introduced—-at first, I thought she was there for Devon—a Hilary reencarnation. Now? I don’t know. I like the actress, so if she is to stay, the writers better give her a story worth watching….and, one she deserves.
As always, Celia, you read my mind, though I admit I had hopes for Lola and Kyle. Maybe Phyllis will grow up now that Sharon’s cancer seems to have broadsided her. She stepped up to Jack’s addiction…maybe this will bring out the “human” side that Nick claims she possesses. Now, more of the Amanda debacle with the ex showing up! Fast Forward, please.
I found Lola and Kyle too passive, Soaphound. I did not get the ‘bite’; the furor, if you will, of two young people madly in love—Perhaps, TPTB saw the lack of chemistry between them, thus they changed the “pace”—- comparatively speaking; Summer and Kyle have always had that mysterious, intangible, yet tangible IT factor . Some actors, when brought together in a certain role, the magnetism is palpable.
The passion was so evidently elusive between Lola and Kyle. I only hope Summer does not go back to her bratty, elitist ways. I like her new ‘righteous’ ( that’s a joke-aha), subdued persona.
But, Theo? Everything about him irritates me……especially the way he pronounces his ‘S’. So, if ye gods plan to pair him with Lola? It will be sacrilegious. LOL. I like Lola—just not with Theo.
Is Summer out the door? Well, maybe Hunter King is. It was just announced she got the lead role in a new pilot for ABC called “Prospect.” Its a pilot so maybe they back burner her until she finds out if the series is picked up. Maybe they recast and hire the old Abby, Hayley Erin?
He is the only guy I know that just blasts them and gets away with it!! I adore him for that he is right I wish he could wave a magic wand and correct all the wrongs that have been done to a soap that he loves!! I don’t always agree with him on issues but I have never doubted he cares very much about this soap ! My only request is grab somebody and call them your sweetheart he had such off the charts chemistry with Sharon Case I sooo want him to be involved with her cancer storyline whatever happened years ago just forgive and give us back the best daughter in law relationship this show has ever had I sooo miss those days I sooo miss their wonderful chemistry ! Just do it besides Nikki he had the best chemistry ever with case please forgive and give us that back !!! It’s never too late
He is one of the few actors that owns his character he breathes it you hardly know where Braeden ends and Victor begins he should be always leading story just as Jack and Paul you need as a hw need to get those three front and center then build your characters around them
I totally agree with you about Victor and Sharon. When I started watching Victor and Dru were the only ones in her corner.
Mark you missed wonderful storylines I never saw two people who played off each other i hate that they don’t share the screen together anymore I hate that we can’t work out our problems and move on you are cheating a audience of a great relationship I for one am very sad ! Braeden needs to stop this in its tracks an give my girl a good hug ! You can find it on you tube when case won supporting in 1999 and him hugging her he loved her dearly ! I want that back
So hope this is true! Blast me if you like, but I’ve had enough of the Kyle and Theo Show! Jack and Victor they are not! Let us get to know the characters on the canvas, but introducing a boat load of new ones!!
Lew, you are SO RIGHT! I feel like a broken record but the powers that be apparently don’t care. Theo is a scene-downer like Devon and we need to get back to our core characters. Start writing for the Baldwin/Fisher family, more Jack and Traci, Gloria, Fen, Paul & Christine.
Y&R had hit bottom in my opinion…I quit watching years ago and started watching again when Sally Sussman and Kay Alden was rehired, I even stuck with it during Mal Young which i wasn’t please when Sally and Kay were let go…Josh Griffith writing is DULLSVILLE…I will say it again till the day I die…I think the world of Mike Dobson (Music Director) but I do not care for Y&R background music if Y&R wanted to they could bring back all the old music score that meant the world to this show…The writing, directing and music are lacking so the powers that be for CBS, PLEASE listen…My 2 favorites now are B&B and GH…
NOTE: There is NOTHING exciting IMO that is going on at Y&R and I don’t watch on a regular basis and I catch the show now and then and I don’t even care if I miss it…

‘General Hospital’s’ Dominic Zamprogna Shares He Was ‘Happy to Hear’ of The Triangle Storyline Developing Between Dante/Elizabeth/Ric

General Hospital’s Dominic Zamprogna (Dante Falconeri) opened up about the burgeoning love triangle forming between his Port Charles alter-go, Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) and Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) after recently aired scenes, plus his hopes for the future of a Dante and Liz pairing, during his appearance on the Sunday, April 23 edition of the That’s Awesome podcast with Steve Burton (Jason Morgan) and Bradford Anderson (Spinelli).
On last week’s episodes of GH, Ric has made the decision that he wanted to propose to his ex-wife, only when he showed up at Elizabeth’s front door, he misread the scenario he walked in with Liz tending to Dante’s injured leg from the softball game. From there, the legal eagle’s jealous streak is reemerging which may cause him to act out and do something unforgivable, or will he take the high road? Stay tuned.
Speaking with Steve Burton and Bradford Anderson about where Elizabeth stands in the annals of the long-running soap, Zamprogna said, “She’s up there with Steve and Maurice (Maurice Benard) as one of the most legacy-filled people on the show.”

HOW DANTE AND ELIZABETH CAME ABOUT
Dominic jokes it’s a far cry for where Dante and Elizabeth previously, recalling, “We had some scenes together years ago and we were both laughing. Becky’s like, ‘Well, I guess we’re not going be paired up anytime soon.’ I remember we laughed immediately after they yelled ‘cut,”‘and said to each other, ‘Well, so much for that!'”
Fast-forward to early 2025 and as Zamprogna remembered it, “Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) came up to me at the General Hospital Christmas party, and I think it was a year and a half ago and she said, ‘We’re going to have you in scenes with Elizabeth,’ My internal monologue is going, ‘I’m not with Lulu (Alexa Havins) anymore and Sam’s (Kelly Monaco) gone, so maybe they want to see if this works.’ I didn’t want to get scenes with Becky and try to find the chemistry. I just wanted to play whatever honestly was written and came across for both of us and hope it was what people liked, and I don’t know if it is … or not.”
Knowing how beloved Elizabeth is to the GH faithfuls, Zamprogna added, “She got a big fan base with Ric … and a big fan base with with Jason … and you know, you’re going to piss somebody off. But, didn’t Ric drug Elizabeth and put Carly in a panic room?”

DANTE AND ELIZABETH PAIRING COULD STIR UP STORY FOR OTHERS IN PORT CHARLES
In closing, Dominic felt that the wide-reaching tentacles of a Dante and Elizabeth relationship is something he is 100% down for. “The triangle thing; I was happy to hear it was with Ric and her, because I felt it’s important to have her the top of it as opposed to Dante, Lulu and Elizabeth.”
Zamprogna added, “When you get into relationships on a soap, things seem to fizzle out a little bit, The buildup is what’s the fun part, and the getting to know each other, and the people who are affected by this coming together. When with this case it’s going to affect: Ric, Sonny, Lulu. There’s so much more story here. To me, it’s going to be a fun story to play.”
You can check out Dominic’s visit to That’s Awesome with Steve and Bradford below.
Now weigh-in: Are you rooting for Dante and Liz, or Dante and Ric at this juncture of the story, or neither guy for Elizabeth? Let us know your thoughts and picks via the comment section.

GH and OLTL Alum Patrick J. Gibbons Reveals the Story Behind Writing Trina’s Song on ‘General Hospital’ (Exclusive)

At the conclusion of today’s August 21 episode of General Hospital, Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) sings a lullaby to baby Dez, that went into a montage to close out the episode as her father Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) reports to Pentonville and winds up in his jail cell.
However, in a fun fact, the song entitled, “A Lonely Heart To Give” was actually written by none other than former One Life to Live and General Hospital actor, Patrick J. Gibbons.
Daytime fans first met Gibbons as Sam Manning on One Life to Live. At the time, when he started on the soap, he was just 5-years-old. Gibbons played the part from 2010-2013 on ABC and Prospect Park’s editions of the show. Fast-forward to 2018, Gibbons shows up on General Hospital as Wyatt Hoover, the scout who seemed always be injured, but in the thick of the drama. Patrick had appeared on GH multiple times as Wyatt including: 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023.

FROM HIS GRANDMOTHER’S DEATH CAME THE INSPIRATION FOR HIS SONG
Now in 2026, General Hospital fans are getting to learn about another side of Gibbons’ talent as a songwriter and guitar player after “A Lonely Heart to Give” debuted today! Michael Fairman TV caught up with Patrick, who is now a senior at Penn State entering his final year as a finance major, to get the back-story of how his song wound up on GH!
Gibbons explained he wrote the song in honor of his grandmother who passed away a few years ago with whom he was, very, very close with. “Randomly, my grandmother had a downfall and passed away during the second semester of my sophomore year. I was in my dorm a lot and I was just playing with my guitar. And at the time, I was really into finger-style playing. I wrote the lyric and music to it (with a little help from my guitar teacher Lou), and my mom showed the rough demo to Frank Valentini (EP, General Hospital). He’s like an uncle to me. Frank loved it so much he said, “Finish that up. I want to hear the whole thing, and I want it on the show.”
MAKING MUSIC FOR GENERAL HOSPITAL
Gibbons and his parents took the next steps! “So now, all we needed was a female voice, because I thought that would fit the song well,” Patrick shared. “At the golf club we go to my parents were at a dinner. They liked the singer that was performing and spoke to her about the song, and she says she would like to bring it to her ‘boss’ who ended up being Eric Bazilian of the Hooters fame!” (Bazilian also wrote the smash hit song “One of Us” for Joan Osborne).
Next, “We went in the studio and recorded it and the song came together and it was beautiful. We loved it. They loved it at General Hospital and now they’re putting it the show and they are coming in with a piano, instead of a guitar. Paul Glass, the GH musical director, has been keeping us updated over the last six months of how it was coming along, and when it would air, and how GH put their own arrangement to it. I can’t wait to see and hear what they did with it.”

PATRICK’S ONE LIFE TO LIVE FAMILY
Everyone knows that the One Life to Live extended family share a very tight bond, and Patrick said he does stay in touch with a few of his former One Life to Live co-stars, especially those from the Manning family! “I stayed in touch with Kassie DePaiva (ex-Blair) and sent her little videos here and there. She was like my second mom for five years. We keep in contact with Kristen Alderson (ex-Starr) over X the most, and she can’t believe how big I’ve gotten. Like, none of them can! (laughs). I also loved working with Roger Howarth (ex-Todd) and Trevor St. John (ex-Todd and Victor Jr.), and to me since I was so young, they were just my friends, ‘Roger and Trevor,’ not Todd Manning or Victor Jr.”
It was a trip to California and a visit to Port Charles that ultimately led to Gibbons second soap role of Wyatt Hoover. Patrick explains, “In 2016, Frank Valentini invited us out to Los Angeles to visit the set of General Hospital. I think he heard me say, ‘This is so much fun. I miss being on the set.’ He goes, ‘You should come out. I’ll bring you on the show. We can make you a character.'”
A few years later, Patrick’s dream became a reality! “Then, by the summer of 2018, I was playing Wyatt, the scout, and shared scenes with Wes Ramsey (Peter August), and the best was when I shared a scene with Roger Howarth and Michael Easton (ex-John, OLTL and ex-Silas, Finn et al, GH), it was like chemistry from the old days.”

Photo: PGibbons
IT’S ALL IN THE NUMBERS
As to his future aspirations, it’s a career in the finance game that has piqued Gibbons’ real-life interest. But never say never to a return to acting. Patrick explained, “I’ve always enjoyed numbers. And on top of that, one of the biggest parts of finance is being personable and outgoing.”
He continued, “That’s one of the greatest skills I developed growing up. I really love the markets. I’m super interested. I’m never going to close the door to acting. I’m always open to that because I just love it so much. It’s such a great art.”
Take note! If there are any investment bankers or private equity folks among the GH faithful looking for a young analyst next year, Patrick’s DMs are open. You can find him on X at @PatrickJGibbons.”
So, what did you think of the song sung by Trina on today’s GH that was written by Patrick J. Gibbons? Did you enjoy Patrick’s performances as One Life’s Sam and GH’s Wyatt? Would you like to see him back on GH at some point? Let us know via the comment section.
