Circle January 4th 2016 at 8:30PM!  That is the official premiere date and timeslot from NBC for Eva Longoria’s highly-anticipated soapalicious comedy series Telenovela!  However, the peacock network is giving viewers a sneak peek episode on Monday, December 7th at 10PMEST following The Voice.

According To TV Line: “Telenovela (formerly titled Hot & Bothered) stars Longoria as Ana Sofia, the star of a popular Spanish-language soap opera… who doesn’t speak any Spanish.

Amaury Nolasco (Prison Break) plays the villain on the show-within-a-show; other cast members include Jencarlos Canela (Más Sabe el Diablo) as superstar heartthrob Xavier and Diana Maria Riva (The Bridge) as Ana Maria’s best friend Mia.”

Robert Sudduth is also writer/producer of Telenovela, who also happens to be the husband of The Young and the Restless’ Greg Rikaart (Kevin).

Lou, it’s not an actual telenovela. It’s a comedy about people working on a telenovela. It looks fun!

Either way TPTB can at least make an effort to revamp daytime serials for the 18-34 demographic.

That’s their legal and personal status. You’d phrase it differently? And please don’t disrespect gay relationships here. There are too many people in front and behind the scenes on this site who are either in them or fully supportive of them. No place for social or political commentary, unless it’s specifically soap related. Now, as for that soap relationship, I think it’s cool that Greg’s husband makes a connection to an actual soap. The goings on at the always churning Y&R set will make for good inspiration and a touchstone for realism for him as he writes this show. And… Read more »

I’ll give it a whirl. Who doesnt like hot looking people in a comedic soap! I hope the hell its better than Blood and Oil. I know the two shows are like comparing apples and oranges BUT they both are trying to tap into the night time soap audience. [If that still exists?]

If this is a sucess then they do somehing similar for daytime…Passions on NBC was almost a wink to soaps and in my opinion, had the network given them a chance, they would have been very popular today

General Hospital

Nancy Lee Grahn Debuted 25 Years Ago Today as General Hospital’s Alexis Davis

Back on September 26th, 1996, (25 years ago today!) the new character of Alexis Davis made her debut on ABC’s General Hospital, and brought to the iconic soap opera, the talents of Nancy Lee Grahn.

Grahn, had already made a name for herself with her captivating portrayal of lawyer Julia Wainwright Capwell on Santa Barbara for which she won a Supporting Actress Daytime Emmy in 1989, in a tie with AMC’s Debbi Morgan.

Back in April, General Hospital, marked this milestone with a special episode for Grahn, that could be remembered come next year’s Emmys.

Alexis, or shall we call her “Natasha”, was introduced on GH as the daughter of Mikkos Cassadine and his mistress, whose throat was slit by Helena Cassadine, which has played into Alexis’ story for many years to come.  At the time of her entrance to the show, Wendy Riche was GH’s executive producer.

Through the years, viewers have witnessed Grahn’s portrayal of: a tough legal eagle, an honest depiction of a woman battling the bottle, failed romances, while all the time being a loving and faithful mother to her three daughters, Sam, Molly, and Kristina.

Nancy won her second Supporting Actress Daytime Emmy, this time for her role as Alexis in 2012, and has been a multi-nominee in the Lead Actress category for her performances on the ABC daytime drama series.

Kate Grahn, Nancy’s daughter took to social media within the last few hours since we posted this story to share a video on how thankful she and her mom are to GH fans and Nancy’s time on the show which afforded her the ability to have and raise Kate.  Check that out below.

Here’s to Nancy for giving us 25 years of her on-screen work as Alexis!

Congratulate Nancy and tell us your favorite Alexis Davis moments via the comment section.
