Last month, a judge ruled to dismiss the case filed by former The Young and the Restless star Victoria Rowell (Ex-Drucilla) against her former employers Sony and CBS.  At that time, the judge also mentioned that he would allow future filing under certain conditions.

Well on Wednesday according to Soap Opera Digest, and in statement delivered to them by Rowell, she has picked back up her legal action and is continuing it.

Rowell related:  “On my behalf, my counsel filed an amended complaint to strengthen and clarify my claims of retaliation and discrimination against Sony, CBS and other defendant. We intend to vigorously prosecute these claims.”

Are you glad to hear Victoria has decided to continue to pursue action against her former employers and corporations? Or, do you think at this point it’s a no-win situation for her, and she should drop all  her legal action? Share your thoughts in the comment section below!

How can an outsider make a just and conclusive judgment? I do not care what he said/she said issues. None of us is in any position to give a sensible opinion without being privy to her private affairs and those of SONY. C’mon!!

You are right in what you are saying. Unless we actually know what went on, we should not be judging.

She should drop it…it was her decision to leave the show…Y&R did not drop her because of her race…the story was even left open to a future possible Drucilla return…if it was a race issue then why on earth did she make attempts to get rehired if so bad like she claims..there are several black characters on the show involved in a continuing front and center storyline-not that great of a story but many of the white actors stories are no better, and some like Lauren. Jill, and Colin are poorly underused!

GIVE IT UP AND TRY TO FIND WORK ELSEWHERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sheeeesh, amen!!!

That’s the problem…after all the shit she’s stirred up, she’ll have a tough time getting hired anywhere!
Who wants to risk the Wrath of Victoria? They would probably get sued too!

YOU HIT THE NAIL ON THE HEAD WITH THAT ANSWER.

I loved her in her role on Y&R. I fear that she doesn’ t have the power to win against such powerhouses. If she can prove discrimination, she should stand up for herself. If not, she should drop it.

She needs to drop it!! maybe back when she was on the show there were not many black actors and actresses on the show, but look at it now!! I’d say Sony has done a good job of keeping race a non-issue.

That Victoria Rowell comes off as a Kook..
She hasn’t a chance in hades to win,,,.
lol CBS and Sony don’t lose ..
the woman has no proof, just her personal feelings..

Please go away Victoria, she is a trouble maker and a has been. Her 15 minutes of fame is over.

This is just stupid. This women just keeps going on & on with no end in sight. I think she just wants to stay in the news. Let’s face it some gossip is better than none. If and I mean a big IF it is going to be nothing more than a (he said/she said) Didn’t the first Jill Abbott try the same stunt at one time. I think her last name was Dickenson. She blamed Y & R for everything in her life that went wrong.

You’re talking about Brenda Dickson.

Thanks James. I couldn’t remember her name but this story sounds so much the same but without the nationality being the source of it all. I’m actually going to go back and read the story now that you gave me the name. V.R needs to move on. If she is that concerned with actor’s of color she can find another great way to support them. Use her money that she’s blowing on lawyers and put it into an acting school. Help the Black’s who don’t have jobs. Support equality but stop the silliness your making a fool of yourself as well as your native people. In Y & R we have Gwen/Devon/Hilary/Neil/Lilly and they fit right in, You had one tiff with one person and she apologized a million times but you wont take it. Everyone knows you want blood. Stop making a personal tiff a public fight.

If she was such a great actress, why didn’t she pop up somewhere other than Diagnosis Murder? After her 2nd Y&R stint, she really hasn’t done much. Maybe she needs to lunch with Brenda Dickson and reminisce about their better times at Y&R.

She is a troublemaker and is black listed in Hollywood! MAYBE the Empire takes her in? Thats her only chance! Who cares, shes ungrateful.

If you read her interview in SOD, it sounds like she’s quite busy.

Karma REALLY needs to come around and give her a swift KICK into reality! >:-( In what parallel universe does she think ANY company will want to hire her after her history of self-entitled delusion is beyond me … I (for one) will NEVER watch anything she’s connected to again… #NotAFan

This woman continues to shock me. Who quits a job then sues because they won’t hire her back? She will never work in this town again, much less for CBS Sony.
Nuisance law suits like this can go on and on, there are always attorneys looking for high profile work.

Exactly….and if it WAS such a bad company to work for, as she claims…then why in the world has she tried for years to get rehired with them again?!?!

It astonishes me too, that she thinks this is the way to correct the mistake she made in quitting that job, because they wouldn’t let her run the show. Trying to make this a discrimination issue demeans her fellow black actors who found CBS/Sony to be a good employer and remain there after all these years.

She should seek other employment and stop chasing an undeserved windfall from a company who rightfully refuses to hire her again, because of her actions.

I enjoyed her as “Drucilla”, and I’m sorry she chose to leave, but I see no reason for CBS or anyone else in entertainment to risk hiring her.

Amen!

Neil and the rest of the Winters family haven’t had a decent story since Dru went over that cliff.

Both sides need to find a way to put this behind them and do what is best for the show. Bring back Victoria!

i disagree, the winters clan is thriving without dru… we have the hilary triangle which imo is the one of the best, truest form of soap opera on the show right now.. qgood ol fashioned love triangle!
the characters in the winters circle are plenty. Neil has had many good love affairs, its just the writing that never fully flushed out his romances… once the hilary saga ends , the writers could always bring back aunt liv, or karen and neils adopted daughter anna and even leslie…
we dont need dru… shes does not behave as a professional , sorry

She’s pretty.

Pretty crazy!

I don’t think a person is crazy for wanting to work somewhere without being spit on or mocked. I also understand that some people can become uncontrollable and/or crazy from constant abuse.

I read the original claim.

Yeah, well how come none of the other actors complain about working at Y&R and none have come to her defense? She is a troublemaker, plain and simple!

Victoria Rowell!!! Give it up girl. You ain’t got a leg to stand on and a pot to p!$$ in.

I have always wanted to see the character of Drucilla back and of course I would want her played by Victoria but doing things like she’s been doing is not going to get her back on the show. At least give us an answer as to what happened when Dru went over that cliff.

I don’t really think she has a legitimate claim, but I don’t know everything in her case obviously. I will say this, she thinks she was done wrong and I do commend her for sticking to her guns and fighting even when it seems she’s in a no-win situation. I have been in a similar situation and sometimes you just have to do what you have to do.

How about getting a freakin job you crazy loon!

She is ridiculous. She should move on. Obviously Y&R is the least racist soap on the air today. Shame on her for being an opportunist. She isn’t even missed.

How long is this story is going to play out with the baby, that story has been played so many times before.please end this, don’t like adams line either he should be in pison.

This whole thing is as ridiculous as the stupid Prospect Park ABC suit.

I’m glad she has continued on. People need to be made aware that minorities are not getting the same chances as the white race. I know her family and Victoria is a very talented woman plus an educated woman. May God’s blessings be with her in all ways.

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).

Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.

Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON

Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”

Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).

Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.

“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?

During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.

Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.

You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.

Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.
