First Look: Y&R’s Lauralee Bell in ‘Ruby’; Initial Film in Lifetime’s V.C. Andrews’ Landry Family Movie Series

The Young and the Restless‘ Lauralee Bell (Christine) as previously reported, and now with trailers and images from the set, portrays Daphne Dumas in Ruby and The Pearl in the Mist, in the first two movies in Lifetime’s upcoming V.C. Andrews’ Landry Family movie series.

The moving series will begin airing in 2021.  In the series, Lauralee plays the manipulative stepmother to Ruby (Rachelle Banno) and her sister Giselle (Karina Banno).  From the log lines: “Stepmom Daphne is unhappy with the new addition when Ruby arrives to disrupt her perfect family with husband Pierre (Gil Bellows)”

These movies mark Bell’s reunion with producer Reel One Entertainment after starring as the lead in their LMN films, Nightmare Tenant in 2019, where she also served as Executive Producer, and Mistress Hunter in 2018. Bell also previously starred in Lifetime’s Past Sins.

Bell posted the teaser for Ruby on her Instagram sharing: “Sneak peak of #vcandrewsruby The first of two movies I did for @lifetimetv at the beginning of the year! So grateful to have done this project before the quarantine! What a gift!Thank you producers, directors amazing cast & crew.”

Y&R Previews Week-Long Celebration of Their 12,000th Episode

While the iconic daytime drama actually airs its 12,000th episode next Tuesday, December 1st, the entire week of November 30th will be a celebration for the show reaching yet another milestone in their storied career.

In story,  the Newman, Abbott and Chancellor families will gather for the nuptials of Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) and Phillip “Chance” Chancellor IV (Justin Gaston). The Hamilton/Winters family will be represented when Abby’s best friend, Devon (Bryton James), serves as the officiant of the ceremony. Wedding guests include: Victor (Eric Braeden) and Nikki  Newman (Melody Thomas Scott), Jill Abbott (Jess Walton), Nina Webster (Tricia Cast), and Jack (Peter Bergman), Ashley (Eileen Davidson) and Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland).

On the 12,000th episode, viewers will be treated to flashbacks that recall some of the show’s classic love stories, including the story of iconic super couple Victor and Nikki Newman.

Since its debut back on March 26, 1973, The Young and the Restless has racked up 162 DaytimeEmmy wins and took home the Outstanding Daytime Drama Series top prize 11 times; including this past June.

Dancing with the Stars

DANCING WITH THE STARS: Soap Alums Return to the Ballroom for Season Finale Tonight

The big question which has been building will finally be answered tonight on the season 29 finale of ABC’s Dancing with the Stars, when after the final dance the votes at home combined with the judges scores and decisions will determine the winner of the coveted Mirror Ball Trophy.

Although this season featured three former soap stars, who had been previously eliminated during the competition, they will return tonight along with their pro partners to dance again and to root on the remaining cast in the finals.

Look for former Another World star, Anne Heche, former Passions, Desperate Housewives and Dallas star, Jesse Metcalfe, and former All My Children, Days of our Lives, The Young and the Restless star, and current Netflix’s Selling Sunset star, Chrishell Stause to make their returns.

Nelly, who is still in the running for the Mirror Ball Trophy with pro partner Daniella Karagach, will also be performing some of his hits during the season closer.

Competing against Nelly and Daniella tonight are: Kaitlyn Bristowe and Artem Chigvintsey, Nev Schulman and parter Jenna Johnson, and Justina Machado and partner Sasha Farber.

Missing in action will be Tiger King’s Carole Baskin who did not travel to Los Angeles from Florida due to Covid-19 restrictions, however, the former co-host of The Real, Jeannie Mai will be back in the ballroom following her emergency surgery a few weeks ago which had to suddenly drop her out of the competiton..

THIS WEEK On GENERAL HOSPITAL: The Aftermath of the Explosion

General Hospital fans are eagerly awaiting Monday’s episode after the stunning Friday cliffhanger which had an unknowing Julian (William deVry) detonating the bomb he placed inside the Floating Rib on orders from Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober).

In the newly released ABC promo for the week, they ask as does Carly, “Who Died Tonight?”

Fans then watch a series of images of Port Charles citizens outside where the bomb exploded but who were not inside at the time it went off.  Those include: Dante, Laura, Sonny, Carly and Julian.
