Former Y&R Star Burgess Jenkins Reveals Good News, His Wife Is Cancer Free

The former Billy Abbott of The Young and the Restless, Burgess Jenkins left his role on-air on the top-rated soap opera back in November of 2015.   Jenkins was replaced by Jason Thompson, who debuted in January of 2016.

After Jenkins departed Y&R, it was later revealed that the main reason for his departure was to be closer to his wife Ashlee Jenkins, who was diagnosed with breast cancer in November of 2015.  The couple has been residing in North Carolina.

On Saturday, Jenkins posted a beautiful picture on his Twitter account of himself along with Ashlee, and a tweet that read: “6 mos ago w grace, faith, humor & unending strength she put the gloves on & fought. Today she’s cancer free #warrior”

Send your well-wishes to Ashlee and Burgess in the comment section below, and your thoughts on the the good news that he shared with all of his fans.

I am so happy to hear this news. Makes me happy when any one can beat this horrible disease. It does take a log of fight and determination to come out on top of it.
Wish you were coming back as Billy Abbott, the new Billy is not you.

So very happy for your wife. She is a brave woman who has been through so very much. I know this because my 29 yr old daughter has breast cancer and just had her 5th of 6 chemo treatments. People could never realize what your wife has experienced these past months, such as the many side effects, and the days after treatment. How great a guy you have been to stay by her side. Please know that you are missed on Y&R! Best wishes for the future to you and your lovely wife!

This is wonderful news. Now, I never thought I’d say this since I was heartbroken when Billy Miller left, but any chance Burgess could return and we can forget this new incarnation of Billy Abbott ever existed? Maybe he could bring a team of interior decorators with him and restore the Chancellor mansion at the same time. Oh, dare to dream.

Guiding Light

Tom Pelphrey Set As Series Regular For Amazon’s Mystery Drama ‘Outer Range’

Another great feather in the cap for one of the finest actors we know, former Guiding Light and As the World Turns alum, and two-time Daytime Emmy winner, Tom Pelphrey.

Fresh of his star-turn in Netflix;s Ozark as Laura Linney’s on-screen brother Ben, Pelphrey has nabbed a key role in the upcoming Amazon series, Outer Range.

The show also stars Lilli Taylor and Tamara Podemski and Josh Brolin.  Outer Range is from playwright Brian Watkins, Brad Pitt’s Plan B Entertainment and Amazon Studios.

According to Deadline: The story centers on Royal Abbott (Brolin), a rancher fighting for his land and family, who discovers an unfathomable mystery at the edge of Wyoming’s wilderness.  Taylor will portray Cecilia Abbott, the matriarch of the Abbott family. Cecilia is a woman of deep faith, which she finds tested as never before. Podemski will play Deputy Sheriff Joy. A life-long cop, Joy is running for county sheriff, and is the first gay Native American to ever do so in Wyoming. Pelphrey is Perry Abbott, the dutiful, eldest Abbott son, who is torn up inside by the lingering mystery of his missing wife.”

Coming up this Oscar season look for Tom in David Fincher’s Mank, where he plays Joseph Mankiewicz .
