Former Y&R Star Burgess Jenkins Reveals Good News, His Wife Is Cancer Free

The former Billy Abbott of The Young and the Restless, Burgess Jenkins left his role on-air on the top-rated soap opera back in November of 2015.   Jenkins was replaced by Jason Thompson, who debuted in January of 2016.

After Jenkins departed Y&R, it was later revealed that the main reason for his departure was to be closer to his wife Ashlee Jenkins, who was diagnosed with breast cancer in November of 2015.  The couple has been residing in North Carolina.

On Saturday, Jenkins posted a beautiful picture on his Twitter account of himself along with Ashlee, and a tweet that read: “6 mos ago w grace, faith, humor & unending strength she put the gloves on & fought. Today she’s cancer free #warrior”

Send your well-wishes to Ashlee and Burgess in the comment section below, and your thoughts on the the good news that he shared with all of his fans.

I am so happy to hear this news. Makes me happy when any one can beat this horrible disease. It does take a log of fight and determination to come out on top of it.
Wish you were coming back as Billy Abbott, the new Billy is not you.

So very happy for your wife. She is a brave woman who has been through so very much. I know this because my 29 yr old daughter has breast cancer and just had her 5th of 6 chemo treatments. People could never realize what your wife has experienced these past months, such as the many side effects, and the days after treatment. How great a guy you have been to stay by her side. Please know that you are missed on Y&R! Best wishes for the future to you and your lovely wife!

This is wonderful news. Now, I never thought I’d say this since I was heartbroken when Billy Miller left, but any chance Burgess could return and we can forget this new incarnation of Billy Abbott ever existed? Maybe he could bring a team of interior decorators with him and restore the Chancellor mansion at the same time. Oh, dare to dream.

‘The View’s’ Sunny Hostin & Ana Navarro Test Positive for COVID-19; Asked to Leave Studio Ahead Of V.P. Kamala Harris Interview

This morning on The View, an awkward situation arose, when while on the air, co-hosts, Sunny Hostin and Ana Navarro, where asked to leave the panel desk and exit the studio.

All of this happened before a live interview was scheduled to happen with Vice President Kamala Harris.  It was revealed that Hostin and Navarro tested positive for Covid-19, and were ‘breakthrough” cases since they had been previously vaccinated.

Host, Joy Behar delivered the news to the audience at home so they knew what was going on with the bizarre moment playing out on live TV, sharing,  “Ana and Sunny, at the last minute we realized they have tested positive for COVID so they have been taken off of the show.”

Harris, who had planned to join the ladies at the table, instead was going to be interviewed remotely from a different place in the ABC TV studio in New York, while Joy Behar and Sara Haines remained on the set.

As for Kamala Harris, Behar added: “It’s very important we keep her healthy and safe. The Secret Service is doing things to make her feel safe.”

While the delay was announced, Behar and Haines took questions from the in-studio audience.

Watch Behar below explain what was going on.

Then let us know, how do you feel The View handled the situation? Comment below.

TONIGHT: 73rd Primetime Emmy Awards on CBS

Who will take home the gold at Sunday night’s 73rd annual Primetime Emmy Awards?  Well, from the looks of it .two heavy favorites going into it are Ted Lasso in the comedy categories, and The Crown in the dramatic categories, but as we have seen on previous Emmys there may be upsets afoot.

Other leading contenders through the night will include the series: The Mandalorian, WandaVision, The Handmaid’s Tale, Saturday Night Live, Lovecraft CountryThe Queen’s Gambit and Mare of Easttown.

Cedric the Entertainer will host the three-hour special on CBS beginning at 8 pm EST emanating from the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles.  Pandemic and all there will be a return to an opening number.

The broadcast’s executive producer, Ian Stewart, confirmed an opening number, when he previously told Deadline, the number “is going to be a lot of people participating, singing, rapping.  It’s hopefully going to be a very impactful start, a ton of fun.”

The Primetime Emmys will have nominees in attendance, with a more limited amount virtually, and those who have tickets can stay in the venue through the whole show, unlike the Grammys or Oscars were those nominated were ushered in and out.  Look for the Emmys to take place outside the theatre under a tent.

One Life to Live alum Renée  Elise Goldsberry (Ex-Evangeline) will be competing in the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for her role in Hamilton.  Another OLTL alum, Jonathan Groff (Ex-Henry), is nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for his role in Hamilton, as well.

In the Outstanding Actor in a Drama Series, Sterling K. Brown tries to win another Emmy for his role as Randall Pearson on This Is Us.   To view all the nominees, head on over to the TV Academy’s website.

This past June, CBS also aired the 48th annual Daytime Emmy Awards in a pre-packaged show for broadcast due to Covid-19 restrictions.

So, who are you rooting for to win the gold at the 73rd annual Primetime Emmy Awards? Comment below.
