As Sonny fan, I can’t really get excited about Sept/Oct which I know is about Will’s return. Dena is horrible writer. Her writing made most people hate Sonny. Everyone is all of sudden like FS is shit actor when they were liking him the first 4 years. As Sonny fan who wanted to see him written deal with Will’s death and this Demios guy taking over his family and PaulSon with subtle and depth didn’t get any of that. We get over the top mobster Sonny nonsense. PaulSon is none existent in the show. It never seems to pay off being fan of Sonny. Is why I gave up on this show.

Now everyone is all CS/Paul is amazing and CM/Will getting goodwill, Ron is probably going to be hooking up Paul and Will. I don’t care. The best thing I can hope for is Sonny off the show. His sloppy seconds can have each other. I wish FS never came back to the show.

DAYS OF OUR LIVES: Sonny Goes Off On Scheming Gabi & This Week Maggie Remembers The Night Adrienne Was Killed

Things are definitely reaching a boiling point in Salem.  First, if you caught last Friday’s episode, it featured a terrific scene between Freddie Smith (Sonny) and Camila Banus (Gabi) that shook everyone to its core.   Gabi, who has now been arrested at the PCPD for her crimes against Julie and her schemes against Lani, gets a visit from Sonny, and boy is he angry.  At the time of their visit, Justin (Wally Kurth) has already told Sonny that he doubts there is any way that Gabi will avoid prison time.

Realizing that both Ari’s parents are looking like they will be in prison, he asks Gabi, “Who gets the fun job of explaining this to Ari?” Ari loves Julie. He exclaims,”How I am supposed to explain that her mother tried to kill her multiple times?”

Distraught and thus facing parenting alone, Sonny screams at Gabi if she even knows her daughter exists!?  Gabi thinks Sonny is being horrible to her, but stands by her actions that Julie needed to pay.  Sonny just shakes his head in disbelief.  Ari’s parents will both be in the slammer!  When DA James Giddens arrives (Terrell Tilford) he says that Gabi will get 10 years in prison with no time off for good behavior and no parole.   In these scenes. Smith and Banus really delivered the material and brought it to an emotional level that hit home to the viewers.

And now this week, get ready for more drama.  Gabi may get a last minute reprieve, while Maggie (Suzanne Rogers) is so close to remembering what happened the night of the accident that killed Adrienne (Judi Evans) – how she was drunk in a car that caused the crash – and the victim of this is not only Adrienne, but Will (Chandler Massey) who was sent to prison for a crime he did not commit.

The series talks about the current movement of having more female directors getting opportunities and be recognized for their work in film and TV, and the challenges a soap opera director faces every day: from dry block, where they work with the actors, working through their shot lists, and the ensuing problems that can arise in any production on the day to day.  But in soaps, the pressure is really on, because there is not much time to re-shoot things and to get them right.
