Pardon an aging Devil’s fuzzy memory but….. did Curtis ever actually know Luke?? I’m thinking he came to town after Luke was already gone…. but Hell knows I’ve mentally blocked out all of that “Fluke” nonsense and the dragonshit exit story that ReRon wrote for Luke, so I could be mistaken.

I thought the same with Ava. Can’t recall her knowing Luke either, but being Nick’s wife that could be why she is there too.

FYI: when Ava was introduce on GH it was Luke who she first interacted with.

Can someone refresh my memory as to why Curtis is there? I don’t recall he and Luke sharing any scenes. Yes, he’s Laura’s friend, but that’s a stretch.

Figured Ned & Olivia would be there for Tracy. Lucy also had a quirky bond with Mr. Spencer.

As for special guests – just speculating here – I wouldn’t be surprised by Ethan popping in, even Skye and maybe even Lucky and Lesley.

Steve
Curtis just showed up as support for his friend Laura, because Kevin had a patient emergency. As in real life, there are always some questionable shows and no shows.

I do not believe that Luke is dead. I think that Luke is letting people believe that he is dead because something is going on.

I agree 100%. Nobody’s ever really dead in soap operas!

Exactly what I think. I don’t think GH will have a real ” good by” for Luke til he dies in real life.We shall see.

Anne
I don’t care if he’s dead or alive but why then has Nicolas’s Uncle admitted on the phone to someone that he neutralized Luke? I also don t think Luke had any say in the matter

Violet- Luke being neutralized does not mean he is actually dead. All that would be necessary is to convince Tracy that Luke is permanently gone. All the while, Luke could be locked up in an underground location.

Anne,
I didn’t mean that. I meant that Victor told someone that he neutralized Luke which does not necessary mean killed him so why aren’t people looking into other possibilities. Anna, for instance, if someone sneezes she’s looking to the WSB for answers, but not Luke’s “death”.

It is so hard to invest emotionally in fake funerals on soaps. We know Luke is not dead, we know Tony Geary is not returning unless he dips too far into his Savings. We just had Sonny back from the dead, Jason just fake died, Peter keeps returning from the dead, etc etc.

This “funeral” should be more about the characters left behind, and new story that can spring from it.

The witty banter and one-liners should make this a very interesting episode.

Why is Curtis there? To my knowledge, he and Luke never even met. Also, I’m surprised Lucas isn’t there given the fact that Luke was (still is, because he’s definitely not dead) his uncle. And what about Kevin? Wouldn’t he be there to support Laura? Speaking of which, it would be really nice for Lucky and Ethan to return to town, and for Lulu to wake up from her coma. The Spencers need to be reunited.

As For Luke, I think it’s only a matter of time before he turns up alive, probably being held captive along with Holly. I doubt Victor is working alone, which means there’s probably another Cassadine waiting in the wings somewhere. Who will it be this time? Stavros, Stefan or Helena back from the dead (again)? Or another villain from Luke and Laura’s past?

Where are Elizabeth and her boys? Aiden is actually Luke’s grandchild

Curtis is there but yet Liz the mother of his grandchild is not! This is one of the reasons I left this show. Don’t tell me about budgets don’t want to hear the crap you have budget enough for RH to play 800 characters! One life to live got canceled it’s time to grow up was it better then GH I don’t know I think it had filming in NY running it against it! Always has been about costs!

It does not make any sense to have the funeral without either one of his sons there. Poor writing. I don’t think Curtis knew Luke. This show is going down fast.

WHY AND EXACTLY. GH apparently OPENED THE NEW DOOR TO NEW,
WRITERS… YOUNG, HAVE NO CLUE OF THE LONG HISTORY OF GH and DON’T CARE THEY are RUNNING GH INTO THE GROUND for some disgusting reason. I HATE THAT THEY INSIST ON DRAGGING SONNY IN THE SAME STORYLINE WITH THAT RIDICULOUS NINA COME ON PRODUCERS BEFORE GH GETS CANCELED.

Lucy shouldve been there..her and luke were good freinds..and lucky?? Ethan?? Hello?? Are the writers getting amnesia? These folks shouldvebbeen there!!!!!

There is no sane reason to, out of the blue, to kill Luke off..
What would be a logical purpose to kill off Luke= none.
I do not believe Luke is dead–
To bring Luke into a story, after all these many years,
is asinine..
Luke’s death is a fake-out–

Rule #1 on General Hospital:
If there was no body recovered, then they’re not dead.
Rule #2
Sometimes even if there is a body recovered they’re still not dead.
It’s a clever backdoor the writers use in case the characters or the actors that played them need to come back to a particular storyline. If Anthony Geary ever decides to come back the writers will jump at the opportunity.

Agree with those rules. Luke is not dead at all.

Couldn’t sleep the other night so I watched a few of the old Nurses Ball videos on Utube, mainly Luke Spencer and Bobby Disco dancing. Then way back when he was one of the pips, also some others. I didn’t know this man could dance.

Wow, Violet, you are brave.. watching those Nurses’ Ball episodes without Pepto-Bismol nearby. But I love nostalgia so I may follow your lead. Probably better than those silly prime-time reality shows they’re foisting on us. I loved Chase’s DICK TRACY number from three years ago. Talk about sexy! And my 87 year-old mum loves Lucy’s numerous gown changes. It’s like a Diana Ross concert… some gals really know how to wear clothes properly. That’s one reason I love when Diane Miller is on…Carolyn Hennessey has great style, too.

Soaphound
I honestly just loved some of the previous performers and watch those a lot over the years. I love Kathleen Gatti, especially when she sang Always On My Mind to her kids. Made me cry and my other tear jerker was Sonny and Max singing The Summer Wind. To me that was the most poignant father and son thing, especially Max of course. I loved Bradford Anderson/Spinelli singing to Maxi and the little red head he married. Again, I so enjoyed Dr. O singing GUILTY with Franco and watching Elizabeth’s expression. I really enjoyed Ava singing You Don’t Own Me.
Now, I can go on but I can hear you saying ” oh God, why the hell did I say anything to her?” I adore Carolyn Hennessey and I saw the most interesting and lovely, crazy side of her on Sonny’s show State Of Mind, if you can put up with him a while.

I was disappointed with this memorial for Luke. It could have been so much better. This felt like “oh we need a memorial for Luke ” so throw something together. It came off as hastily written and bringing in all of the side stories like Sonny and Scotty fighting and the discord between Nicholas and Spencer added nothing. Again, it could have been a really good episode.

This week on all-new episodes of General Hospital, new and old motivations come into play with dangerous consequences. According to the just released GH video spoilers video for the week of August 3-7, a bailiff calls out, “All rise!”

Now it’s Isaiah (Sawandi Wilson) vs. Curtis (Donnell Turner), as the surgeon is suing the owner of the Savoy for assault that ruined is ability to operate. At the end of the day, which of these men has enough evidence against the other? Portia (Brook Kerr) is by Isaiah’s side, while Jordan (Tanisha Harper) is with Curtis.

Later, there is a small baggie containing three blue pills. Nina (Cynthia Watros) ask Willow (Katelyn MacMullen), “What did you do?” We also see Michael asking the same thing of Jacinda (Paige Herschell). Leading into this week, viewers know that Willow doesn’t want the former escort anywhere near her children, Amelia and Wiley. Is this how she stops her, or is Jacinda up to old tricks and wants to frame Willow? Remember when Jacindsa drugged Drew (Cameron Mathison)? Stay tuned.

Finally, in the pick-up from last Friday’s cliffhanger, an emotional Jason (Steve Burton) continues to tell Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he cannot work for him anymore. Sonny ask, “So that’s it? You’re Out?” We fade to black.

Vincent Pastore of ‘Sopranos’ Fame and ‘General Hospital’s’ Maximus Giambetti Dies at 80

Published

Vincent Pastore, best known for his memorable role as Salvatore “Big Pussy” Bonpensiero on HBO’s The Sopranos has passed away.

The veteran actor was found dead on August 1st in his home in the Bronx, New York. Pastore was 80-years-old. The cause of death is yet to be determined.

As well as his role on The Sopranos, many soap fans will recall he played multiple smaller roles on the beloved One Life to Live from 1995 and 2004. However, in 2008, he landed the short-term role as Maximus Giambetti on General Hospital.

PASTORE WANTED TO BE ON GENERAL HOSPITAL

Maximus was the mobster father of Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) bodyguards: Max (Derk Cheetwood) and Milo (Drew Cheetwood)

According to Soap Opera Digest, Pastore told Soaps In Depth back in 2009, after appearing in a SOAPnet promotional campaign as a celebrity fan of General Hospital: “‘I’d love to be on the show. So they called up GH’s casting director (Mark Teschner) and Bobby (Robert Guza Jr. ex-head writer, GH) and they wrote me in!”

Pastore was a huge General Hospital fan from way back, who at one point told producers that he would watch the ABC soap opera while working in bars and nightclubs in the 70s and 80s.

Throughout his decades long career, Pastore appeared in films including: Goodfellas, Carlito’s Way and Men of Respect, The Jerky Boys: The Movie and the 1996 HBO TV movie Gotti.

In TV, besides The Sopranos, Pastore’s credits included: Law & Order, The Practice, Son of the Beach, Queens Supreme, Hawaii Five-0, Wu-Tang: An American Saga, plus the miniseries The Last Don II. Most recently, Vincent was a series regular on Gravesend and guest starred on Yellowjackets.

Pastore is survived by his daughter, Renee, son-in-law and granddaughter.
