GENERAL HOSPITAL: Carly and Jax Lip Lock! Who Is In The Red Shirt That Julian Thinks Is Jessup?

Courtesy/ABC
On Friday’s General Hospital it was two key points at the end of the episode that had fans talking into the weekend and ready for Monday!
First, through Carly’s (Laura Wright) grief over the death of her son, Morgan and her ex-hubby Jax’s (Ingo Rademacher) support, the two have been drawn closer together. As well, their daughter Josslyn (Eden McCoy) is clearing hoping for reconciliation, even though Carly is married to Sonny (Maurice Benard), but their marriage is teetering on the brink of disaster. When Carly tells Jax she does not know how she can move on from Morgan’s death, he holds her and says they can figure it out together.
Later, a reflective Carly brings up their past and lets Jax know that the time they were married and together was one of the happiest times in her life. Regretfully, Carly wishes she had fought harder for them to stay together, because Jax is such a good man. Next thing you know the two share a lip lock!
Elsewhere, after Sam’s (Kelly Monaco) run in with Franco (Roger Howarth), where he tries to apologize for making her believe she raped him and was the father of her baby, she sits down with hubby Jason (Billy Miller). She lets Jason know about what Franco said and cannot believe Liz (Rebecca Herbst) would stay involved with him.

When the subject turns to exonerating Sonny, next thing you know Sam receives a key phone call from Spinelli with major Intel! He found out the whereabout of Oscar Jessup, as it turns out the criminal has been dead since 1990!
Cut to: Julian (William deVry) who is firing Curtis (Donnell Turner) from the assignment with him. When Curtis leaves, Julian receives a phone call. He tells who he thinks is Jessup that he got rid of Curtis, and wants to know when this will all end, since he has done everything Jessup has asked in the last several months! On the other end of the line, we see a phone and someone in a red shirt listening to Julian’s every word! Who could it be?
So, what did you think of the kiss shared by Carly and Jax? Who is Julian actually talking to if Jessup is truly dead? Share your theories and thoughts in the comment section below!
The kiss is an anticlimactic moot point as we know that Ingo is only here for a brief run…unless fan interest leads to his return on a regular basis. I would be all for that. As far as the Julian story, I have the sinking feeling it will be contrived and unsatisfying. The show doesn’t realize when it has struck gold. Having Sonny actually be responsible for Morgan’s death would have been the way to go for long term story and character development. Plus, if they recast Morgan and have the character return the whole thing will have been a giant waste of time and the actors’ talent. Long live GH!
I agree with everything you just said! What a cop out not having Sonny responsible for Morgan’s death; instead, we will have to suffer with more of Sonny “making someone pay” instead. Sigh …..
Oh, but Mister Media, knowing what we all know about ingo/Jax…maybe he’ll stay and maybe not…and Carly being Carly…the kiss was still nice. Sigh! Hope GH writers build more on these good vibes than where Port Charles has been since what feels like forever.
I say, sir, Mister Media, you hit the spot. True, on all counts.
If Morgan does come back ( GH is a revolving door, anyway), it will all have been for naught.
I ask, though…….at what point will Carly’s prurient libido start to calm down and descend a rung or two? Is cheating on her husband greater than her self-respect?
Her son just died. As with Laura when Nik died, both women lose abandon themselves in carnal pleasure to alleviate grief? Shouldn’t that be the last thing on a mother’s mind?
Again, these writers give mothers a bad name.
But one thing you guys need to understand is this is a serial and in this show, some will be drama to exercise actors abilities to emote! Morgan’s death is a typical ebb aan flow story. We see now the mourning and will see someday the jubilation from all that Morgan is alive and well!
Good point, my Timmmy. I’m usually as sanguine as you…..hope awaits over the rainbow. I guess that’s what su is talking about….too much doom and gloom. I expect some comic relief, though….
Thank you for jarring me back into that safe place.
Happy Thanksgiving, my dear friend. Blessings and love.
@Soaphound.
Thanks for bringing up Anna, Soaphound.
She is too busy sticking her nose into Valentin’s business….if he really is Valentin.
Yes, there is no doubt Anna’s loving heart goes out to Charlotte; but, I wonder if this has more to do with humoring/coddling Griffin…the big baby, that he is. Waa-waa, boo-hoo……he sounds as bad as Nina….I want a kid and I want her/him now.
Well, at least, Nina appreciates the emotion…..we can understand her maternal feelings after having felt life within her body, once upon a time.
Oscar Jessop = Olivia Jerome.
Who is Olivia Jerome?
I know, Juls…who is she?
So, I looked her up and it seems that she is Julian’s sister, who goes by Olivia St. John.
I did not watch GH at that time…..
Do you remember watching The Wizard of Oz and Glenda the Good Witch tells Dorothy that the other witch, that is, the Wicked Witch of the West, is worse than her sister, The Wicked Witch of the East?
Well, Olivia is the Wicked Witch of the West to Ava’s Wicked Witch of the East.
Olivia Jerome was obsessed with Duke and stalked the hell out of him, and by extension, she stalked and harassed the hell out of Anna.
I recall her calling Anna and hanging up. Those were the good ole days when one could call their ex boyfriends or girlfriends and just hang up when they answered because there was no such thing as caller id or star 69.
LOL Mrs. Kravitz..the block” option still works! Although, drat, some people won’t pick up calls with unknown caller.
I try, I have want to be involved in a story but It never happened under J&S.
Their writing is not suited for GH, they are not the correct writers for GH.
The Snooze Queens need to be replaced, yesterday.
Carly & Jax is going nowhere. We all know that.
Julian is the reason Morgan was blown up, we all know that.
Nelle is a conniving twit, we all know that.
Franco is going to go wired, we all know that.
Finn will now have the cure so Hayden will live, we all know that.
GH is no longer enticing/intriguing. There is no mystery, no climax, no WOW moments.
Morgans (not) death was overkill of a huuuuge pity party, very depressing.
I want to laugh, feel up once in awhile. Not one laugh during a year is by itself enough to rid of J&S. Laughter, even a chuckle is important especially under a ton of dark depressing yuck.
I want a mystery to solve, an on the edge must see mystery with no clue as to whodunit.
I’m hanging in there in hopes of the moment that will have me surprised.
GH has always been My soap #1 .. that has changed to Y&R as #1 🙁 🙁 ((I has thought that impossible))
Anyways, I like Valentine .
Long live GH !!
agree again su0000.. i’d have been more surprised if it didn’t happen. Skulking Nelle is no fun..she’s too young to be acting that goofy..Julian treated Curtis like a punk who licked his lips and took it..no spine whatsoever..i couldn’t give two hoots who’s in that red blouse/shirt..helena? ho hummm…jerry jax..ho hummm hummm…lei it be Obrecht..there’s a surprise..it better NOT be luke..i’m gone for real..sam gave it to franco..for once i liked her..your heinous act upon me is NOT EXCUSED FRANCO!!
let not lei
FLUKE is back!
Can’t stand the police commish, she remind me of Taggart everytime something happen in Port Charles they go running to lock up Sonny, and don’t do their job and investigate, like what she did about the DA and all that killing.
But Juls, if Sonny doesn’t fit the bill, then she takes out her little checklist and moves on to Jason or Franco. It never crosses that twit’s mind that Ava or Julian might be responsible for something bad. Where is Anna when we need her?
Jordan is dumber than a rock. The only cases she solves are cases solved by others, such as Franco and Anna. The only confession she can get is a crazed and grief stricken Sonny standing in front of the church.
Good job !! Things need to change I love Sonny but really, how many times can he hurt his family why can’t he be happy for a while Jax can get lose with his kid. We all know Michael will be back. Someone has him somewhere. I agree with you
I agree with the predictability of GH. Y&R is not so good right now so you must really be desperate! Ha ha ha!
All I can say the red shirt better not be Fluke—LOL— perhaps a recast Prince Nicholas?
The kiss will be much a do about nothing
Claudette, mayhap?
Yes, the kiss may be a much ado about nothing, Mary. Agreed. It should not have happened. She is married to someone else. Is it just moi?
I hope it’s just you CeeCee. It’s a soap!!! Soaps include sex, betrayal, passion!!! Lol. Conflicted emotions, conflicted loyalties. Temptation. Giving into temptation. Some of the best literature centers around this part of the human condition. I’m watching. A BBC/PBS show. “Poldark” which just showed a major marital sexual betrayal. This is drama. Art, literature, film, and yes our soaps…depict the tangled web of humanity, our frailties, our lust, our desires. Soaps aren’t a measure of morality. They explore fantasies of all kinds which is part of their allure.
As for Carly and Jax? We know Carly wouldn’t have turned to him if Morgan had died from illness. He died because of mob violence, regardless if it was on Sonny’s order. Jax (whom she doesn’t deserve) is the opposite of the mob. He stands for everything safe, everything she could have had if she didn’t leave him for Sonny. So, in her time of despair, she gave into that need…it’s human. It’s part of the drama of a soap, of life. lzurs, on the other hand, though her depressed state might have too looked to romantic comfort, wasn’t as passionately or believably played so THAT bed scene right after Nic’s death didn’t work for me. Whereas Carly was shown for days in the depths of despair, of agonizing loss, Laura barely blinked, was in bed with Kevin and her biggest emotional reaction was finding out he was writing about her in his book. When it makes sense…Carly and Jax..and when it seemed lacking a compelling, dramatic lure ie Lara and Kevin. Both at times of loss.
Laura, on the other hand…not Izurs.
@Rebecca1.
Hi, Rebecca,
You are absolutely right. Everything you describe is what defines a soap opera.
Sometimes, I forget and fall into the absurdity of it all. LOL.
That is not to say such women/ men do not exist in real life. And, as I always maintain, soaps do mimic life….to a certain extend.
Later.
Poldark? (perk!) Last week’s punch in the kisser was the punch heard round the world and I replayed it about a hundred times.
Ross: You understand I did not have a choice.
Demelza: Nor I!
SMACK!!!
Landing Ross Poldark flat on his arse!
Demelza is woth a million Elizabeths!
@Demelza-fan.
LOL!! Classic slap, that….love it !!!! Love POLDARK!! Double and triple YES!! to everything you said and described.
OH, YES to that…kiss was nothing but a minor distraction, Carly just trying to FEEL something because she is so numb and empty inside. AND YES, Demelza’ s beautiful back-handed slap was WONDERFUL… such a release of her burning sense of betrayal by Ross! Now that was such juicy durm and strang!
..Hi Demelza-fan…LOL…yes! That’s what I meant…infidelity is a part of literature, TV, film Theatre, opera…it’s certainly high drama! I love Drmelza. Her beauty, spunk, innate intelligence, giving heart. I never read the books so I stay away from the boards as I don’t want to know what happens…though I made the mistake of wandering over to a British site and they’re way ahead in episodes of us than we are in America. So, I knew that scene was coming up… I was so disappointed…but Rooss and Eluzabeth’s love was forcibly cut by timing and circumstance leaving them with emotions and longing that I guess one could rationalize and understand while simultaneously hating. I read it was quite the uproar in England because some felt it was more of a raipe scene but PBS, probably because of the uproroar edited the Anerican scene. Certainly didn’t look like rape at all…Elizabeth has been luring Ross since the beginning and certainly seemed passionately involved in that scene. Sigh..rooting for Demelza all the way.
Ceecee…Remember on a post months ago i referred to Aidan from POLDARK and you thought I meant a daytime soap guy named Aidan too? I don’t believe you watched POLDARK back then as you weren’t familiar with Aidan Turner. Did that prompt you to start watching? Excellent show, yes?
Yes! Rebecca 1, you’re right on all counts. You as well, Celia.
And no, that was not rape considering Elizabeth sent the letter to Ross in order to bait him.
I was even angrier with Ross for telling Demelza that he thought she’d understand his extra marital tryst because she always understood his other conflicts of the heart. How emotionally tone can one bloke be? And I hate Elizabeth with the heat of a thousand suns. Not for sleeping with Ross, mind you, but for her utter dismissal of Demelza as a non variable as far as Ross coming to be with her. She treats Demelza as her own personal scullery maid and this after she saved Elizabeth’s small boy while sacrificing her own child and her own health.
Stay tunned for the next episode, you will be rewarded for your angst.
@Team Demelza….You’re so right, no assault there, just a most satisfying culmination of two people who have long-loved and desired each other!!! Finally!!!! It’s about time, too, now that the sadly-drowned Francis has taken his last dip in Elizabeth’s sea of love….and now there’s most probably a “Little Ross” on the way!!! Take that, George!!!!
By the way, “Team Demelza,” if you run into a bloke from here named “Harry,” please tell him I wished him a “Happy Thanksgiving!”
Red shirt is Duke… back again!
Duke doesnt wear red.
True he wears plaids…
It is Nell’s partner-in-crime? Why not, Timmmy? Could be!
I have been in an out but what is Jessup?
Jax is 100 times the man Sonny is! Don’t let him go Carly!
Jason should pound Franco into the ground! He is scum! He is causing trouble for Liz and cannot walk by Sam without keeping his scummy mouth shut!
Jessup, wouldn’t be great if it turned out to be Anthony Zaccaro! You know, you are never quite dead in Port Charles!
Yes, a day without Jax is like a day without sunshine.
Sonny is a self-involved, boring, morose and depressing man.
Ingo is such a pro!
I think Carly is hypercritical in talking about kiki not being honest about her feelings. Why is it OK to sleep with your ex while mourning for your son and being married. I forgot Carly is just like Elizabeth . Every excuse to sleep with a man instead of dealing with emotion..where is Carly manic depressive pills to help her with sexual dysfunction? Storylines is so poor I stopped watching since the charollette birth certificate and many mistakes on serial killings
Boring
I believe the red shirt person will be…none other than Jerry Jax…and that he is responsible for Morgan’s demise …
The storyline I’m trying to figure out why Tom Baker is reconnecting with Elizabeth. Will Liz not tell Franco. I wonder will Franco ever find out about Baker trying to hit on Alexis. This could be an intriguing storyline.
I thought the Carly/Jax kiss was rushed and as obviously going to happen as watching china fly when a bull is running the idles in the shop. Give me a break.
I believe that Julian is responsible for blowing up the car in an attempt to make Sonny look guilty. Morgan was collateral damage.
The red shirt….Now that stumps me. Who would Julian be willing to work for? Faison? I don’t know GH’s villain history that well, but hope that the person is from GH history and has a logical grudge against Sonny.
I think Jessup is Julian Jerome daddy. The master of deception. The real king pin of Port Charles. I love Sonny. Whatever he gets into in do get out. So leave my Sonny alone. Carly isgoing through heartbreak over Morgan. But she will survive. Like a true mob wife. Go Sonny and Carly. She will always be by his side. She has to vent like everybody else. But when she finds out what truly happens. Watch out Port Charles she’s going to show you what a Spencer /mob wife is made of. Jax maybe in a lip lock now. But she will have his ass on a platter. As Sonny watch her on action!
I’m only mildly interested in who Oscar is. Like “me” mentioned, Olivia Jerome came to mind, but Anna already has enough story going on for that to happen. Then, I was leaning to imposter/forgotten brother Evan Jerome. But somehow, this has to be connected to Julian’s recent revelation that he wants to buy the hospital for condos.
Regardless, this better not be a way to try and absolve Julian of all his misdeeds (including murder). Are we supposed to feel sympathy for a man so weak to first fall victim to Fluke then to a 2nd mystery power broker? Fool me once, okay, twice, I ain’t buying. Send Julian out of town on the wimp bus with Franco.
I like Sonny and Carley together, although complicated, better than Jax(sorry Jax & Joslyn).
I think Jax has something to do with the girl that supposedly gave Joslin the kidney. I like Sonny and Carly together and how is it his fAult Morgan stole Julian’s car i think the storyline stinks it could have been anyone’s car it just happen to be Julians
Focus on Morgan meds. and I don’t trust Jax, once and for all do something with Avalon let some of these couples stay married and please after Morgan returns leave all the dead dead fit’s getting old be more creative .
The red shirt…Since Sam’s search for William DeVry has turned up a dead end, literally, but phone calls go back to China. Maybe it could be Brad Cooper’s family who he has tried to avoid (married to Rosalie) and who are supposed to be the mob on the West Coast wanting to take over Sonny’s territory. If so maybe they teamed up with Julian to get rid of Sonny. In return Julian can still stay a mob player in Port Charles.
Rose, that is VERY good but way to advanced for this writing team!
That would be a great twist! An Asian mob takeover attempt…hmmm…could be good, and maybe they will dispatch Mr. Jerome?!
As I mentioned in an earlier post, this is Carly’s M.O. She’s played
this tune before… Subconsciously wanting to hurt one or the other
knowing they truly dislike, distrust & disrespect each other…
It all started with Brenda…she loved Sonny first, then came Jax…
Carly also loved Sonny first….then Jax, however Carly & Jax have
always been good together…their compatible on many levels, it’s a
smart pairing.
Jax is on about twice every other year. Regardless, why would you want Jax to lose a child? He’s the good guy. Sonny killed AJ, stole Michael FROM AJ, tortured AJ, has been involved in the mob his entire life…ignoring the fact his being in it puts his family in danger. Michael was in a coma, killed someone, got raped…Morgan was killed, Dante was shot, his ex-wife Liily and unborn child were blown up too. Jax? Corporate raider, black market kidney.
Oh please…
Its Olivia Jerome
Celia, regarding a different post: I should have guessed you’d be a POLDARK fan also. Yeah, he’s a dreamboat in a certain way but cheating is bad enough. Then to cheat with that simpering do-nothing Elizabeth AND expect Demelza to accept that he’s “torn”. Give me a break! It’ll be a while before he’d be back in my boudoir again, if EVER!
Does he wear a Wig? If not, I may forgive him sooner.
Hi, Soaphound,
Hope you had a great Thanksgiving….
I have been watching POLDARK since its inception. I have missed a few episodes, now and again….many times on the go!!!!!
Last year, Shay and I discussed the show to infinity…..she was more familiar with its plot and theme than I.
‘Ross’ is gorgeous!!!!!! How could I pass up feasting on that face and perfect physique?
I am not very good at keeping up with many of the characters’ real names ( on an soap/show).
Anna Devanes’s nephew’s name is so similar; his name is Aiden as the character and in real life….got confused. Frankly, I care not, my friend. The character’s ( ficticious) name is what’s important.
But, I did see the slap. ……it was soooo very satisfying.
And, Demelza-fan’s rendition of that ‘forever-imprinted’ in the brain scene was beyond humorously poetic…..Tivette’s description wasn’t too shabby either. Perfect!!!!!
I do not tolerate cheating on any level. As far as I am concerned, there’s never a good, explanatory reason. EVER….kiss, or otherwise……but, it IS entertainment, for some……and they are soaps, en masse!!
Later, my friend.
I’m so glad there are POLDARK fans here! When I mentioned it as an example in my initial response to Celia I didn’t know anyone else watched it! Too bad MF soaps doesn’t have a section for these great period dramas ala the no longer aired but not forgotten Downton Abby, Outlanders ( anyone watch that? Rose (a fellow poster) and I do. Love that as well!
Team Demelza….wait! I just realized there’s a Team Demelza, Team Elizabeth and a Demelza-fan suddenly appearing! Lol…thought I was responding to Demrlza-fan as I was going into this second paragraph and realized there are three responses with “Poldark” names. Hmmmmm…I’m just wondering…are all three of you ( if any of you see this, regulars on this site because I never saw Poldark names. Or, had you just read the boards but then signed in when I brought up Plodark? Interesting…but cool!
I have been for Ross and Demelza from the beginning. And I felt so bad for Francis, always feeling in Ross’s shadow. I was flattened when he died…ugggg…and oh-so gruesomely. Elizabeth has turned quite cruel, selfish and duplicitous since George’s death. I would have loved seeing them together if Demelza wasn’t in the picture and a substantial amount of time had passed after mourning Francis. But the total disregard of Demelza…Remember how sick with worry Ross was when Demelza was near death and he prayed for “the love of his life” to recover? And yes, Team Demelza, Elizabeth barely hides her superior air or her feelings of entitlement to/claim on Ross when speaking with Demelza. As I said I haven’t read the books but I suspect Elizabeth gets pregnant…
Team Elizabeth…noooooo. How could you riot from them? So wrong…. But so right in your disdain of George. Can’t wait to see the look on his face when he’s bested by Ross again.
By the way…I so much prefer Ross with longer hair!
Please excuse misspellings, etc. Simetimes it’s auto spell gone awry…other times if I catch it I can’t scroll to fix it. Dropped my iPad and now it has a mind of its own….
Rebecca…At one point I tried to watch Poldark and couldn’t get into it. But since you and I like similar type stories and shows will give it another chance. Happy Thanksgiving!
Hi Rose! Yes…I remember now our discussions on “Outlander” … Cannot WAIT for its return! For some reason I thought you’d watched “Poldark” too. I love it as I mentioned… Yes, give it another try and stick with it. Keep me posted… Not everyone likes the same but I’ll be curious to see if you do get into it.
I wasn’t a great fan of ” This Is Us” even though it premiered to great acclaim. But for some reason I stuck with it and I’m hooked! Initially I felt no involvement with the characters and now I’m completely devoted…
Thank you for your Thanksgiving wishes and for your friendship here. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours, as well. 🙂

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).
Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.
Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON
Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”
Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).
Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.
“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?
During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.
Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.
You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.
Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason Reconnects with Danny; Tristan Roberts Arrives in Port Charles, Lots of Nods to #16

General Hospital’s 16,000th episode was packed with little reminders through points in today’s script that the ABC daytime drama series has set another milestone and it paved the way for the return of fan favorite and newly nominated Daytime Emmy Lead Actor nominee Steve Burton (Jason Morgan). The 16,000th episode also introduced viewers to the new surgeon in Port Charles Dr. Tristan Roberts played by Dean Geyer.
Here are the key takeaways and what went down on the July 13 episode: Tristan and Jason are seated next to each other on a plane heading to Port Charles. Throughout the flight, a beaten up Jason has flashbacks to being thrown into, and being held captive in a cell and tortured. It appears Jason is suffering from some form of PTSD from what he was put through after being dragged out of Port Charles by the WSB months ago.
As the plane prepares to land, Tristan tells Jason there would be a car waiting for him once they land and to enjoy the rest of his life. Later, Tristan arrives at the nurses and doctors hub at GH and approaches Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst). He tells her his name and that he is the new surgeon on staff.

A REUNION PLUS A HEAD NURSE DEFENDS SONNY
Meanwhile, at the end of the episode, Jason is outside the Quartermaine boathouse looking bewildered when he runs into Danny (Asher Antonyzyn), who is so thrilled to see his father, and the two hugs each other as tears are shed.
Elsewhere, Elizabeth tells Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he thinks its a great idea for him to get the 16th seat on the hospital board, but when it comes times to convince Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) of that, things go awry when Tracy, Laura and Sonny try to work things out. After Tracy launches into Sonny about killing Alan and Monica’s son AJ, Sonny walks away dejected.
Next, Sonny runs into Elizabeth, where he informs her what happened with Tracy. So what’s a head nurse to do? Elizabeth marches into the conference room and reminds Tracy of all the different donations and ways Sonny has contributed to the hospital from the Stone Cates AIDS wing, to the Michael Corinthos Center for Pediatric Head Injuries as well as his constant support each year for the GH Nurses’ Ball.

WSB WAR SCARS
Then, in one of the best parts for longtime fans of the series, Elizabeth talks about her legendary grandparents, Audrey and Steve Hardy and she tells Tracy they would have wanted Sonny to have a seat on the board for all the good that he has done for the hospital. After Elizabeth states Sonny’s case, things took a turn and Tracy and Sonny wound up shaking hands as Sonny is board member #16.
In the how great was it to see Anna (Finola Hughes) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) together scenes department, the pick-up of last Friday’s cliffhanger is played out as the two former lovers fill each other in on what has gone down in their lives in the last several months including Valentin admitting he had been living in Carly’s attic, and Anna realizing she was kidnapped by Cullum, Sidwell and Cassius Faison. During their conversation, Anna sees the hallucination of Peter August (Wes Ramsey) right while Valentin is standing there.

Later Anna was on her way to saying goodbye to Valentin, when the two share an emotional hug. After Valentin made his exit, Peter reappeared and warned Anna to not let Valentin distract her because she has important work to do. Anna answers, “I know.”
So, what did you think of General Hospital’s 16,000 episode? What do you think is wrong with Jason? What is the important “work” that Anna has to do? Were you glad to see Sonny get a seat on the hospital board, or not so much. Weigh-in via the comment section. But first, check out the scenes on Jason and Tristan’s long flight to Port Charles.
