For those believing WSB Port Charles Bureau Chief, Jack Brennan’s days might soon be numbered, should think again. After a report that surfaced on Friday, McKenna told fans attending GH Fan Club Weekend that he recently was put on contract at the ABC daytime drama series.

Previously known to soap fans for his roles as Mark Harding on The Young and the Restless and Joey Buchanan on One Life to Live, McKenna appeared with Bradford Anderson at their fan event on Friday, August 1st.

It was then that Chris reportedly revealed via Soap Central, that when the soap opera returns from its summer hiatus on Monday, August 4th, he will be on contract with General Hospital.

McKenna followed Charles Mesure in the role of Brennan, when Mesure suddenly decided to exit General Hospital smack dab in the middle of Brennan’s burgeoning romance with Carly (Laura Wright).

With the reported news of Chris McKenna staying put in Port Charles, the story of if and when Carly finds out that Brennan enlisted her daughter Josslyn (Eden McCoy) to work for the WSB and that Josslyn killed Cyrus Renault is still looming, which should provide plenty of conflict to come in their love story.

In addition, One Life to Life fans are hoping that when Erika Slezak (ex-Viki) arrives in Port Charles this fall, that McKenna will reunite with his former on-screen mom somehow in scenes.

In fact, when Michael Fairman TV spoke to McKenna a few montsh back at Daytime at Night – A Benefit for St. Jude concert at the world famous Troubadour nightclub in Los Angeles, he shared, “Erika Slezak means so much to me. She still calls me her son, but says, ‘You’re not my son anymore. You’re so grown up.” I said, ‘Not true. It’ll never be true. I’m always your son.’ What I wouldn’t do to work with her for one day again.”

Chris is HOT thank you Jesus

Hallelujah!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It’s about time. I’ve wondered when TPTB would realize and acknowledge that Chris is killing it as Jack Brennan. He is so shady with Josslyn and Vaughan yet so tender with Carly. I can’t wait to see exactly where this character is going. Where he goes, I’m sure Chris McKenna with do an excellent job.

I agree. He’s so good he makes it look easy. And Carly loves being in his company as seen with the way she glows, tosses her hair and laughs. One request, however, can Carly get a laugh transplant?

OMG! Right? Carly has the most annoying laugh! It’s nails-on-the-chalkboard-bad!!

I don’t mind the show trying new things, but when it’s obvious from the very start that something isn’t working (like this guy), just end it and be done with it. This whole story is pointless and boring. How can someone as good looking as Vaughn be so boring? Does anyone at all care about Dalton? Why is McKenna with Carly, they have less than 0 chemistry? Why is Joss a spy overnight? It’s all just so stupid.

Totally disagree as do most fans. Carly and Brennan have great chemistry and I for one am looking forward in seeing how the whole storyline pans out.

It sounds like you’re not into the show at this time.

She’s a soap opera Karen.

YAY So happy for him and us.
He’s my favorite and hope there will be lots more of Jack and Carly to come.

Y-E-S!!!!! It’s about time!!!!!

Now they need to put Van Hansis on contract

Van has already confirmed he is not on contract because he resides in New York.

Van plays Lucas in a whole new way… I hope Lucas and Marco become a example of a gay relationship lasting.

Thanks for the info Scott. I wasn’t aware of that. And makes me happy that there’s a reason for that choice.

Oh, please, no.
He and Joss have zero chemistry and the writers keep trying to come up with these stunts like them playing a married couple and it’s just not working.

Van Hansis is the actor who plays Lucas. Not Bryce Durfee who plays Vaughn

Uhm… Van Hansis plays Lucas Jones, a.k.a. Josslyn’s relative.

I think you may be confusing Van Hansis – the actor who plays Lucas – with the character Vaughn, who is Joss’s current WSB “partner”.

Joss wouldn’t have any “chemistry” with Lucas for two reasons:

1) He’s her uncle.
2) He’s gay.

Who cares? He’s not Dex.

Joss had electrifying romantic and sexual chemistry with Dex. They were a super couple reminiscent of Luke and Laura.

I don’t mind CM as an actor, but he and LW have no chemistry in my opinion. Neither do Josslyn and Vaughn.

I like Chris McKenna as Brennan, but I have to be honest, The WSB 2.0 is not as cool as the originals, Robert, Sean, Anna and Frisco. were all bad ass. This new group are wannabe Brennan, Vaughn just don’t seem like a match to the OG, and look at Dante, he never really cut it as an agent. was he really ever technically a web agent or was he just someone who worked for them? as for Josslyn, I’m still think Emma would of made a better spy, still holding out she is secretly a wsb agent, but Josslyn has pontetial, I like we get to see her from the start of her WSB training, and with time she’ll become more seasoned, They should bring in Annie, Sean and Tiffany daughter who is supposed to be and agent, it would be great to see her come in.

At the end of the day, which of these men has enough evidence against the other? Portia (Brook Kerr) is by Isaiah’s side, while Jordan (Tanisha Harper) is with Curtis.

Later, there is a small baggie containing three blue pills. Leading into this week, viewers know that Willow doesn’t want the former escort anywhere near her children, Amelia and Wiley. Is this how she stops her, or is Jacinda up to old tricks and wants to frame Willow? Remember when Jacindsa drugged Drew (Cameron Mathison)? Stay tuned.

Finally, in the pick-up from last Friday’s cliffhanger, an emotional Jason (Steve Burton) continues to tell Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he cannot work for him anymore. Sonny ask, “So that’s it? You’re Out?” We fade to black.

Vincent Pastore, best known for his memorable role as Salvatore “Big Pussy” Bonpensiero on HBO’s The Sopranos has passed away.

The veteran actor was found dead on August 1st in his home in the Bronx, New York. Pastore was 80-years-old. The cause of death is yet to be determined.

As well as his role on The Sopranos, many soap fans will recall he played multiple smaller roles on the beloved One Life to Live from 1995 and 2004. However, in 2008, he landed the short-term role as Maximus Giambetti on General Hospital.

PASTORE WANTED TO BE ON GENERAL HOSPITAL

Maximus was the mobster father of Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) bodyguards: Max (Derk Cheetwood) and Milo (Drew Cheetwood)

According to Soap Opera Digest, Pastore told Soaps In Depth back in 2009, after appearing in a SOAPnet promotional campaign as a celebrity fan of General Hospital: “‘I’d love to be on the show. So they called up GH’s casting director (Mark Teschner) and Bobby (Robert Guza Jr. ex-head writer, GH) and they wrote me in!”

Pastore was a huge General Hospital fan from way back, who at one point told producers that he would watch the ABC soap opera while working in bars and nightclubs in the 70s and 80s.

Throughout his decades long career, Pastore appeared in films including: Goodfellas, Carlito’s Way and Men of Respect, The Jerky Boys: The Movie and the 1996 HBO TV movie Gotti.

In TV, besides The Sopranos, Pastore’s credits included: Law & Order, The Practice, Son of the Beach, Queens Supreme, Hawaii Five-0, Wu-Tang: An American Saga, plus the miniseries The Last Don II. Most recently, Vincent was a series regular on Gravesend and guest starred on Yellowjackets.

Pastore is survived by his daughter, Renee, son-in-law and granddaughter.
