The citizens of Port Charles are ready to be out with the old, and in with the new as 2025 fast approaches. In a rough and tumble year on General Hospital, which featured poignant tributes and moments, shocking exits, and a string of newcomers and big returns, just how will co-head writers, Elizabeth Korte and Chris Van Etten chart the course for your favorite characters in the months ahead?

TV Insider spoke with Korte and Van Etten to break down what fans can expect in the romance and danger departments and more. In an overall description of the action in the New Year the lead scribes shared, “Port Charles stands on a powder keg. One spark from any number of stories may explode marriages and fortunes, create new love and new life … and take lives, too. No status quo is certain, and no one is safe.”

For romance and potential couples in town, from the sounds of it, look for Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) and Lucky (Jonathan Jackson) to draw closer as they investigate who has been injecting digitalis in the patients IV’s (Sam and Dex, thus far) that is killing them. The head writers noted, “The closer they get to Cyrus (Jeff Kober), the closer he gets to them.”  Lulu (Alexa Havins) and Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) could also possibly reunite, but Lulu is holding off on her professing her love to Dante; given his grief over losing Sam, but the writers warn, “The longer she waits, the greater the chances that someone else will catch his heart … or hers.”

The impeding exit of Chad Duell as Michael Corinthos is starting to unfold. With Michael intent on fighting for his children, now that Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) and Drew’s (Cameron Mathison) feelings for each other are out in the open, the scribes say, “He’s (Michael) ready to fight back — when a shocking act of violence has his plans go up in smoke.” In addition, they confirmed that Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) and Sasha Gilmore’s (Sofia Mattsson) lives will become more intertwined in the coming year, when a request from Michael puts Jason in her path. Will he ask Jason to watch over Sasha and his unborn baby (if she ever tells him that he is the bio-dad)?

Korte and Van Etten have big plans for Lucas Jones (Van Hansis) in the romance department, as well. “We take our hats off to Van Hansis, who has breathed new pathos, humor and authenticity into the role of Lucas. We look forward to developing Lucas’s role at the hospital and in his family and giving his romantic life a shot in the arm.”

The scribes noted that if Brad (Parry Shen) messes up in his new attempt to woo Lucas back it could, “leave Lucas vulnerable to the advances of a handsome and mysterious stranger.” Looks like a new man is coming to PC!

As for BLQ (Amanda Setton and Chase (Josh Swickard), Korte and Van Etten tease that their marriage is tested not only by the setback of not becoming pregnant, but because of, “a secret she’s keeping, and a secret being kept from her, about her. The coming revelations will have profound impacts on Brook Lynn and Chase’s marriage, and on the Quartermaine, Cerullo, Falconeri and Corinthos families.”

Meanwhile, on Thursday’s December 26th episode of the soap, viewers saw a moment where Sonny (Maurice Benard) got a sudden pain in his chest. Is he about to be dealing with a life-altering medical crisis? Korte and Van Etten teased, “Sonny is hit with an existential crisis that has him re-examining his personal and professional lives. He’ll be forced to make a big decision about his future; and anything that impacts the reigning mob boss of Port Charles will impact everyone on the canvas.”

So, what do you think about some of the plans for the characters of Port Charles in the romance and danger departments for 2025? Share your thoughts in the comment section below.

Yawn. This all sounds like stuff from a soap in the 80s.

It does have the ring of familiarity, lol, smh. Jason & Sasha feels like Carly and Jason and baby Michael.

Yup. officially stopping watching. This all sounds like recycled poor writing. Will just be watching old episodes on Amazon when the stories and writing were quality. NONE of this interests me at all.

Same old stuff, no imagination from the writers or producers but they do know how to kill off characters just not the right characters smh

Or Jason and Sam when she was pregnant with Sonny’s baby. Snooze feast . Are they waiting until November sweeps 2025 to expose trifling Drew and Nina?

I’m on board with the Liz and Lucky reunion and their teaming up to clear her name and discover who killed Sam and Dex. That sounds interesting, as does the story of Sonny facing a health crisis. Will Kristina take over the business or Jason, who may refuse since he’s been working on the other side of the law. We’re not surprised by the possible Lulu/Dante/Cody triangle, but who else could Dante be interested in.

But why are the writers planning to rehash the Jason and Sam story with Jason and Sasha? Is this just another way to retaliate againt KM or just an extreme lack of originality. You can do better than that.

They better make brook Lynn and Chase pregnant and kill off Gio and Lois

There’s no reason to kill off Lois. However, the fiddling poolboy needs to go join a symphony orchestra somewhere and live off his actual talent. Which is not acting.

And he doesn’t need to be related to anybody either.

You are so right

I’d rather they were pregnant and it was high risk versus the path it appears they are taking… I’m fine if there are secrets etc but NOT Gio is BLQs child. Recon garbage…

NOT Gio Brooklyn’s son. Come on writers
Wake up

I think Sasha & Jason is the best choice. It reminds me of Jason helping Caryl raise Michael as a baby.

Please kill off Drew! And let Willow be the murderer.

I don’t see Willow as the murderer type. Now on the other horn, her alleged “mother” might do it. And then the cops can take care of Nina and my dog Cerberus can finally get the chew toy he wanted for Xmas.

I don’t know, Satan. Willow is wound a little tight and never received much needed therapy as a cult-rape survivor. She has repeatedly said that due to her trauma suffered at the hands of Shiloh and Harmony, that she doesn’t trust easily. Willow, in a haze of shrill overreaction, has already broken off her friendship with Sasha for a minor slip of the tongue to her then boyfriend ( now cousin) Cody. How will she react upon learning Drew pursued her for a sexual conquest after having relations with her mother thereby replicating the Harmony-Shiloh-Willow dynamic?

Great idea Jill.

Nina will snap and do something to Michael or Drew.

I like that idea. Let Jason go at Nina on Michael & Sashas”s behalf

YES PLEASE!!!!! Drew needs to go.

Give Chase and Brook Lynn a baby of their own! Not every story has to be devastating and end in death! Give us a bit of balance!

Yes. I certainly agree!

Can the writers go too!?!

Lol

Yes! The writers are boring. I’ve been watching since 1970+ and these are all too old of ideas.

Yes please. Too much out with the old and in with the new

Boring!! Bring back Dex and Joss the only love story I cared about – nobody had their chemistry!!

Yup, that was the nail in the coffin for me. No Sam, no Dex, have no reason to watch.

I could careless since the writers and Frank Valentini fired Roger Howarth. Fv lied to him, he didn’t have his back in the come back Austin story. I don’t give gh much longer since ratings are falling badly

Blah blah blah….how many incantations of Roger would you be happy with? I love him, and Michael Easton, but ideas and storylines run out. Get over it!

If they kill off Michael I will be done with this show forever

Bye Felicia…this bs “I’m gonna quit watching if such and such happens” just shows what a fair weather fan you are. And it gets REALLY OLD! No loss there.

We are going to have a new choice with Beyond the Gates, it is no longer my show when they kill off a true legacy character, a Quartermaine and a Corinthos, who has grown up on screen and been a major focus of the whole show for over 25 years

Seriously! Why do viewers always make the time to “announce” that they’re not watching anymore? Who cares? Just do it’

the network cares

Michael wanted to leave maybe he asked them to not replace him. Maybe they feel like it works better to allow him a chance to come back

Completely agree. Michael goes, I’m
gone.
Same with Sonny.

Jason looks like Sasha’s father keep Jason in Anna’s orbit.

I completely agree

“No status quo is certain, and no one is safe.”

Well, there’s about 666 different ways to interpret that statement, but let a Devil throw in a theory here completely out of left field.

Should it even appear as though Sonny or Michael have been killed off, you can bet your soul that it only means one thing.

“Melaswen”.

Days of Our Lives fans know what I mean. Only problem is that how in Hell’s name would you pronounce “Selrahctropwen”??

Of course Cyrus the Virus wouldn’t have the abilities to pull off a scenario like that on his own, so who would he be working for?

This briefing told us nothing

I’ll keep it brief, I love GH have l loved it as a teenager, I faithfully watch every episode, never missed one unless it was preempted or if my vcr didn’t record it back in the day, haha thank goodness for streaming. I never wanted to quit the show or thought it was awful, not even during Ron Carvilatti reign as head writer, now have I enjoyed every storyline or every character, ? heck no, no one does, but this year has been different, 2024 for me was disappointing, the whole season, so many characters left abruptly and biggest shocker was Kelly Monoco getting fired, this new writing team old or new fired rehired have really been bad this year, I just do not like the current writing team especially after what they put out this year. Hope a new better team comes and save GH in 2025. I want to enjoy and look forward to GH next year. I’m gonna keep my fingers cross and watch.

If Brennan is free why can’t Valentin get off scot free too

Been there done thst, just some old stories being recyceled. So bored with gh. Have stopped watching on a regular basis.

Michael needs to be recast I can’t even watch Cameron in his Hallmark movies anymore who ever is writing this stuff needs to go. The show is falling apart yes it’s a soap but everyone is miserable. Putting on these changes is a little much. A lifetime viewer it kind of needs to change, you’re going to lose alot of viewers

Please get rid of the Drew and Willow story. They have no chemistry and it’s just gross. You may have been able to pull of this story twenty years ago but not today. I’ll watch them for a minute and then fast forward over the rest of their scenes. Have Michael take the kids and go and let the Drew and Willow story die.

I think the WHOLE show could be a WHOLE lot better with Drew gone, and I mean forever.

That’s for sure!

I agree!

Best sudden, surprise exit I can imagine is firing the writers. If you want more faithful viewers, you need more character driven stories. For the past year or so, we’ve seen nothing but baffling, confusing, senseless plot lines. I won’t abandon GH entirely but, when you fast foward thru most of the unpopular storylines, it seems almost pointless to consider yourself a fan. Getting rid of fan faves Roger Howarth, Michael Easton, Kelly Monaco *gasping in disbelief* and Evan Hofer in favor of ho-hum recasts and returning characters may not have the long term impact you were hoping for. Gonna continue to dvr GH and ff thru the silly, sometimes insipid stories. Sorry but, firing some of these actors was straight up idiotic.

I so agree. When Sam was killed, that was the final straw for me. After 48 years of continually watching GH, I am now done to an occasion watch

As another long time viewer (one who has taken breaks through the years) – one question – How was killing Sam worse than killing Alan, AJ or Georgie?

Getting rid of fan faves Roger Howarth, Michael Easton, Kelly Monaco *gasping in disbelief* and Evan Hofer

Well…. ONE of those was a fan favorite.

The Lazarus of Lulu was more than ridiculous..she was in a coma for 4 yrs and she awakens as if she just had a nap..REALLY?!!

This doesn’t sound great..sounds like a bunch of nonsense..Geo is too old to be BLQ’s son..they should have let her and Chase have a baby..that storyline is stupid..periodt..Michael should have never slept with Sasha especially getting her pregnant..their out to make him look like the bad guy..when Willow started this train rolling..therefore he leaved Carly will be out of he grandkids lives and Nina is in..this is not the move..mo

Not looking forward to these writers plans. Are they actually trying to send GH to its grave.

Looks that way. Please fire the writers!

This year of writing and storylines to unfinished story to replacing all our favorite characters,is the worst I’ve ever seen ,I’ve been watching this show since the mid seventies, the disappointment is overwhelming the winter obviously have no clue what the faithful watchers want ,it clear that don’t care either ,are they trying to sabotage this beloved show, because that’s what it looks like, story lines are stupid, and in appealing,I don’t rush to watch this show anymore ,the love for me is gone, instead of getting rid of our beloved actors and actress ,get rid of the writers they have no clue what the long time faithfully watchers actually want ,this show is ruined ,how sad

Sasha and Jason no leave sonny alone Chase and Brooklyn just let them be happy let somebody else be gios mother and father leave the veterans that have been here alone and quit bringing back dead people I have watched the show since it began and it is just getting stupid it used to be so good more Hospital time there was always a story now it’s just this person sleeping with that person it’s terrible

I don’t see any chemistry between Jason and Sasha. I PRAY that both Drew slime bag and the weeping Willow both get picked off by someone! Anyone! Get rid of them both. I could not even imagine a storyline that would make me like either one of them ever again! They both make me sick and what a total destruction of once good characters. This is just disgusting. Please go away. For the rest of the stories, whatever! I’ll watch for the sake of watching and maybe some stories will click for me but for the most part…..eh. If I watch I watch. I really don’t think the show is going to last much longer. These writers have destroyed just about everyone

The writers have to go. Please bring back the GH that we all enjoyed watching

Unfortunately, the last GOOD head writer thst GH had is now an executive producer at the new CBS soap, “Beyond The Gates”. So he’s not available to come back.

I’d hardly call Robert Guza Jnr the last good head writer; we had Garin Wolf for a short-term period of time, and we had Patrick Mulcahey under bullsh*t production.

Garin Wolf spent most of his short tenure trying to destroy the entire Spencer family and creating useless characters like the mute chick who walked around Wyndemere half naked in the middle of November. And the guy who was obsessed with her, who looked and sounded exactly like a Jacks brother, but somehow wasn’t related to them.

Not exactly GH’s finest moments. Neither was Mulcahey, who from day one started writing all of Port Charles completely out of character, and all of them suddenly hating the one guy they all loved since 1993. Apparently even Valentini thought that was a bridge (over Tricky Dick Nixon Falls) too far.

Ok

Been watching since the 80’s. My dvr has 110 unwatched episodes on it, because the show is unwatchable. There was a period 15-20 years ago when the show was also on an unwatchable streak. Hoping it turns around again. Some day I will get around to watching the Jane Elliott scenes on the dvr.

I think that they are not going to replace Michael Corinthos sucks. He has been a big part of the Corinthos family for a very long time and there is still a lot of story that could be told with him in the mix.

I agree with the potent of Lulu in Cody but what? I
worry about the conflict that could strain the friendship between Cody
and Dante

Hey…here’s an idea: For once and for all, get rid of that AWFUL HOMOPHOBE Natalia and that STOMACH-TURNING SLEAZEBALL Drew!!!!!

On a brighter note (LOL), I wanna wish everyone a happy, joyful and prosperous 2025.

Peace.

GH and OLTL Alum Patrick J. Gibbons Reveals the Story Behind Writing Trina’s Song on ‘General Hospital’ (Exclusive)

Published

By

Patrick J. Gibbons

At the conclusion of today’s August 21 episode of General Hospital, Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) sings a lullaby to baby Dez, that went into a montage to close out the episode as her father Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) reports to Pentonville and winds up in his jail cell.

However, in a fun fact, the song entitled, “A Lonely Heart To Give” was actually written by none other than former One Life to Live and General Hospital actor, Patrick J. Gibbons.

Daytime fans first met Gibbons as Sam Manning on One Life to Live. At the time, when he started on the soap, he was just 5-years-old. Gibbons played the part from 2010-2013 on ABC and Prospect Park’s editions of the show. Fast-forward to 2018, Gibbons shows up on General Hospital as Wyatt Hoover, the scout who seemed always be injured, but in the thick of the drama. Patrick had appeared on GH multiple times as Wyatt including: 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023.

FROM HIS GRANDMOTHER’S DEATH CAME THE INSPIRATION FOR HIS SONG

Now in 2026, General Hospital fans are getting to learn about another side of Gibbons’ talent as a songwriter and guitar player after “A Lonely Heart to Give” debuted today! Michael Fairman TV caught up with Patrick, who is now a senior at Penn State entering his final year as a finance major, to get the back-story of how his song wound up on GH!

Gibbons explained he wrote the song in honor of his grandmother who passed away a few years ago with whom he was, very, very close with. “Randomly, my grandmother had a downfall and passed away during the second semester of my sophomore year. I was in my dorm a lot and I was just playing with my guitar. And at the time, I was really into finger-style playing. I wrote the lyric and music to it (with a little help from my guitar teacher Lou), and my mom showed the rough demo to Frank Valentini (EP, General Hospital). He’s like an uncle to me. Frank loved it so much he said, “Finish that up. I want to hear the whole thing, and I want it on the show.”

MAKING MUSIC FOR GENERAL HOSPITAL

Gibbons and his parents took the next steps! “So now, all we needed was a female voice, because I thought that would fit the song well,” Patrick shared. “At the golf club we go to my parents were at a dinner. They liked the singer that was performing and spoke to her about the song, and she says she would like to bring it to her ‘boss’ who ended up being Eric Bazilian of the Hooters fame!” (Bazilian also wrote the smash hit song “One of Us” for Joan Osborne).

Next, “We went in the studio and recorded it and the song came together and it was beautiful. We loved it. They loved it at General Hospital and now they’re putting it the show and they are coming in with a piano, instead of a guitar. Paul Glass, the GH musical director, has been keeping us updated over the last six months of how it was coming along, and when it would air, and how GH put their own arrangement to it. I can’t wait to see and hear what they did with it.”

Photo: JPI

PATRICK’S ONE LIFE TO LIVE FAMILY

Everyone knows that the One Life to Live extended family share a very tight bond, and Patrick said he does stay in touch with a few of his former One Life to Live co-stars, especially those from the Manning family! “I stayed in touch with Kassie DePaiva (ex-Blair) and sent her little videos here and there. She was like my second mom for five years. We keep in contact with Kristen Alderson (ex-Starr) over X the most, and she can’t believe how big I’ve gotten. Like, none of them can! (laughs). I also loved working with Roger Howarth (ex-Todd) and Trevor St. John (ex-Todd and Victor Jr.), and to me since I was so young, they were just my friends, ‘Roger and Trevor,’ not Todd Manning or Victor Jr.”

It was a trip to California and a visit to Port Charles that ultimately led to Gibbons second soap role of Wyatt Hoover. Patrick explains, “In 2016, Frank Valentini invited us out to Los Angeles to visit the set of General Hospital. I think he heard me say, ‘This is so much fun. I miss being on the set.’ He goes, ‘You should come out. I’ll bring you on the show. We can make you a character.'”

A few years later, Patrick’s dream became a reality! “Then, by the summer of 2018, I was playing Wyatt, the scout, and shared scenes with Wes Ramsey (Peter August), and the best was when I shared a scene with Roger Howarth and Michael Easton (ex-John, OLTL and ex-Silas, Finn et al, GH), it was like chemistry from the old days.”

Photo: PGibbons

IT’S ALL IN THE NUMBERS

As to his future aspirations, it’s a career in the finance game that has piqued Gibbons’ real-life interest. But never say never to a return to acting. Patrick explained, “I’ve always enjoyed numbers. And on top of that, one of the biggest parts of finance is being personable and outgoing.”

He continued, “That’s one of the greatest skills I developed growing up. I really love the markets. I’m super interested. I’m never going to close the door to acting. I’m always open to that because I just love it so much. It’s such a great art.”

Take note! If there are any investment bankers or private equity folks among the GH faithful looking for a young analyst next year, Patrick’s DMs are open. You can find him on X at @PatrickJGibbons.

So, what did you think of the song sung by Trina on today’s GH that was written by Patrick J. Gibbons? Did you enjoy Patrick’s performances as One Life’s Sam and GH’s Wyatt? Would you like to see him back on GH at some point? Let us know via the comment section.

‘General Hospital’ Alum Chad Duell Admits That He Didn’t Expect the Role of Michael Corinthos to be Recast, and Would Consider Working on Another Soap (Exclusive)

Published

on

By

Chad Duell, the Daytime Emmy-winning actor, who stepped away from the pivotal role of Michael Corinthos on General Hospital, opened up about: his previous decision to leave the series after nearly 15 years, where’s he’s at now after time away from the demands of a daytime soap opera, and took a stroll down memory lane with some of Michael’s most-acclaimed storyline during his run, during a livestream chat on August 19 on You Tube’s Michael Fairman Channel.

Viewers last saw Duell on-screen as Michael in January of 2025, and with his successor in the role, Rory Gibson making his debut at the GH Nurses’ Ball in episodes that aired later in May. It was clear that during the conversation, Chad was a bit surprised that the GH brass decided to recast him when he thought he was just taking some much needed time off.

Burn-out of the daily grind of being on a soap was definitely a part of Chad’s decision to take a break. Duell explained “People know when you’re doing something for so long or your character is kind of in the same place for so long or doing the same stuff over and over again, you do get a a little burnt out, you get a little stiff, stale, a little stiff at times. I didn’t want that to be any sort of lasting impression. I have 15 years of a body of work of I’ve done on that show, which is fantastic.”

Chad Duell

WHILE CHAD WAS AWAY GH RECAST MICHAEL CORINTHOS WITH RORY GIBSON

Chad shared, his mindset when leaving GH was, “I’m taking some time away, we’ll see what happens.” Then he added, “Obviously, they decided to go in a different direction with Michael when I was gone. I didn’t think they were going to bring somebody back in my place. But you know, it’s the business. You never know what can happen.”

Duell also shared he has not watched a single episode of General Hospital since he left the series, but now feels he reenergized following the loss of his father and stepping away from the GH, “I’m in a place now mentally, where I’m ready to sink my teeth into it again.”

Courtesy/ABC

Even though he is no longer Michael on GH, Chad was very happy with his final storyline where Michael was set on fire when a bomb exploded at Sonny’s (Maurice Benard) penthouse. “It was fun to put him in a dangerous situation, because I was wanting Michael to be in something scary instead of trying to be a hero character or just things happening around him, but to be the center point of tragedy happening to him. (I always saw) Michael as the heart of the (Corinthos) family.”

When Michael was badly burned the show chose not burn his face, which normally a soap does when they are recasting role and switching actors. Chad weighed-in, “They didn’t burn my face because I told Frank Valentini (EP, GH) I’m willing to come back. It was just a little bit of a break. So, I assumed that if they would have burned my face, they could have brought somebody back looking different than me… if that’s what their plan was.”

MEMORABLE MICHAEL STORYLINES

One of Chad’s most memorable performances was the in the storyline of Michael’s rape while he was sentenced to prison in 2010 and the confession of it in 2011. “It was so well-written and I was very nervous,” recalled Chad. “When I get really nervous about something, it ends up being really good when I do it, because it just means I care a lot about it”

“I have to put a lot of effort and work into it, and I really want it to be good.  I was working with Dominic  Zamprogna (Dante) and Steve Burton (Jason) a lot during those scenes, and Laura Wright (Carly). It was great working with Steve and Dominic, especially, during that storyline.

A NEW SOAP ROLE FOR CHAD?

As to a future soap opera role, Chad is open to the idea and would love to jump back in to a juicy role, “I know people over at The Bold and the Beautiful, and The Young and the Restless. They know that if they’re interested, I would love to come in for a screen test or something, and they can see what I’m doing.”

Meanwhile, Chad has been busy putting out new music under the moniker Duelly and during the interview he explains how he creates his EDM tracks and much more. You can stream his latest single, Static in the Quiet Room on Spotify, Apple Music and You Tube Music.

You can check out the full conversation with Chad Duell below.

Now let us know: what show would you like to see Chad cast on down the line? BTG, DAYS, B&B, Y&R, or a new role on GH? What did you think of his thoughts on the casting switch while he was away in the role of Michael? What was your favorite Michael storyline during Chad’s 15-year run on the ABC soap opera? GENERAL HOSPITAL: Ric’s History of Jealousy Where Elizabeth is Concerned Has Come Back Around

Published

on

By

Ric

On General Hospital, Ric Lansing (Rick Heart) is about to fall back into dangerous old patterns by the foreshadowing during the Wednesday, August 19 episode. After first coming to see his brother, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and telling him of his plan to propose to Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) his longtime love tonight, Sonny has concerned.

Next, Sonny reminds his brother of what has happened in the past, when things have gone south with Elizabeth and wonders if it’s too soon for him to propose to her. What Ric did not tell Sonny is that he has seen the developing closeness between Sonny’s son, Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) and Elizabeth, which is propelling his urgent need to propose.

Meanwhile, Dante ran into Elizabeth at the park during a break from their mutual team softball games. She needs help with a bookcase after the game at her house. Dante wants to put it together for her. Later, Dante arrived at Elizabeth’s house, limping after injuring his knee during the game. Head nurse Liz wanted to check out the injury as much as Dante protested, which required him to take off his pants.

RIC BEGINS TO UNRAVEL

Outside Elizabeth’s widow, Ric arrives with a bouquet of roses and the engagement ring. When he leers through the widow he is shocked to see Elizabeth rubbing Dante’s leg while Dante is in his boxer/shorts. He storm troops into the house, demanding to know what is going on here? Both Elizabeth and Dante look surprised by his reaction. In the pick-up of today’s Thursday, August 20 episode (see GH video teaser below), viewers will learn the upshot for all three characters.

A VENGEFUL PAST

As longtime GH fans know, Ric has done some horrible, vengeful things in regards to Elizabeth starting back in 2003 after she lost her baby after Ric’s ex, Faith Rosco pushed her down a flight of stairs. Ric accused Sonny for the accident and to get revenge, Ric kidnapped Carly (who was married to Sonny at the time), and stashed her in a panic room below the house where he was living with Liz.

On top of that, Ric fed his wife Elizabeth birth control pills to keep her from getting pregnant so that they could raise Carly’s baby together after it was born. Eventually, Elizabeth found Carly in the panic room but ended up having a pulmonary embolism. When she woke up in the hospital, Elizabeth was all confused by what happened, and Ric convinced her that her vision of  Carly was just a bad dream. Eventually, Elizabeth learned the horrifying truth and divorced Ric.

Years later, Ric noticed the connection between Elizabeth and “Jake Doe” who eventually turned out to be Drew (Billy Miller) A jealous Ric hired Hayden Barnes to show up and claim to be “Jake’s” wife. Elizabeth stepped aside, and when Ric planned to propose to Elizabeth at the 2015 Nurses Ball, Carly exposed his manipulations, and Elizabeth dumped him yet again. And those are just two examples of the lengths Ric will go to for Elizabeth!

So, we ask you, given the history of Elizabeth and Ric, how do you see this playing out with Dante in the picture? How will Ric derail their growing bond? Share your thoughts via the comment section below.
