Daytime Emmy winner, Eden McCoy is celebrating a very big milestone in her daytime soap career as October 14th, marks her 10-year anniversary since she debuted as Jax (formerly played by Ingo Rademacher) and Carly’s (Laura Wright) daughter, Josslyn Jacks.

It was back on this date in 2015, that a young Eden appeared in Port Charles, and since that time the character has been major story and we have seen Eden grow up literally before our very eyes!

Who can ever forget Joss and Oscar Nero (Garren Stitt) heartbreaking love story, her evolving relationship with Cameron Webber (William Lipton), losing Dex Heller (Evan Hofer), and then shooting and killing his murderer, Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) till now where she has been romantically involved (whether they want to admit it or not) to Agent Vaughan (Bryce Durfee). Along the way, McCoy picked up her first Daytime Emmy in 2024 at the 51st annual Daytime Emmy Awards as the last recipient of the Younger Performer in a Daytime Drama Series, which has since been dropped for the 2025 competition and now called Emerging Talent in a Daytime Drama Series.

Taking to her Instagram on Tuesday night, Eden acknowledged this special day, and shared, “Today marks 10 years since my first episode of General Hospital aired 10 years of life has happened in this studio . What a special thing to be able to celebrate. And an impossible thing to put into words. It’s embarrassing (from 13 years old to probably 17?) and remarkable that most of my life is documented on camera forever, starting at age 12 to now, 22,” McCoy recalled.

Looking forward in to the crystal ball of her life, Eden added, “My kids will be able to watch me grow up, and when I’m 80 and want to see what I looked like at 15 I can find it.”

Summing up her GH experience, McCoy explained, “My life has become unrecognizable from the life I had my first day at this job, yet the one thing that is the same is my ability to come to this set, and work with people who have become family. Whenever I see old scenes from previous years, I don’t see the scene, I see whatever I was going through in my real life at that time. This show has given me the opportunity to provide for myself and create the life that I love, and this show is around because of the fans. So thank you to anyone who has tuned in the last decade. And the cast and crew, you know who you are. And the team in the booth that keeps this show running. YOU put the food on my table. And YOU gave me so many lessons that are not seen on camera. I love you.”

So many of Eden’s co-stars took to her Instagram thread to offer up their congratulations including Laura Wright, Sydney Mikayla (ex-Trina), William Lipton, Braedyn Bruner (Emma), Brooklyn Rae Silzer (ex-Emma), Sawandi Wilson (Isaiah), Gary James Fuller (James), Katelyn MacMullen (Willow), Kate Mansi (Kristina) and more.

I look at Joss and Trina’s friendship and I’m reminded of 1978 young Laura and Claudia. Best friends coming of age and going through things together. The things Eden said about being able to look at old footage of herself growing up on camera. Genie can say the same thing about herself. I wonder if they’ve had conversations about it.

I really miss Dex. I loved him!

Killing Dex, in my view, was one of many short sided decisions by the writers. Dex, Brando, Duke, Nathan (nevermind), Britt (nevermind), Jason (nevermind), Drew (nevermind). If Dex were around and Joss still joined WSB, it would’ve created friction in their relationship if she lied to Dex. Anyways, characters come and go, but I don’t think death should be the way 90% of the “going” is done. Especially based on the “nevermind” aspect of it!

To be fair, Duke has been (neverminded) two or three times himself. if they want to bring him back again, I’m OK with it. I’m sure he would love to get away from Olivia Jerome!

Maybe he’ll come back? He was a poet and a visionary.

I don’t recall Dex reciting poetry to Josslyn ever, and what was Dex’s vision about? He never spoke of world change did he?

He wanted to change… the drapes.

Dex liked squirrels and shiny things.

He emoted poetry with his eyes and vision when he gazed at Joss.. or at Sonny when he cooked him chicken piccata in an apron.

The new “Emerging Talent” category replaced (as has no relation to) the Younger Performer category. That’s how 56-year old Olivia d’Abo was somehow nominated despite being a costar on a high rated show 37 years ago.

Dex!!!!!!!!????

I always thought Eden would go off to college or pursuit over opportunities like her peers did. I don’t but her as a WSB agent. She just doesn’t have that cool flair that a young Anna did or any of the other classic WSB agents for that matter.

Congrats on 10 years, Eden!
You are definitely the best of the best in the younger generation of actresses.
It is a pleasure to watch you on GH.

This week on all-new episodes of General Hospital, new and old motivations come into play with dangerous consequences. According to the just released GH video spoilers video for the week of August 3-7, a bailiff calls out, “All rise!”

Now it’s Isaiah (Sawandi Wilson) vs. Curtis (Donnell Turner), as the surgeon is suing the owner of the Savoy for assault that ruined is ability to operate. At the end of the day, which of these men has enough evidence against the other? Portia (Brook Kerr) is by Isaiah’s side, while Jordan (Tanisha Harper) is with Curtis.

Next, Lucy (Lynn Herring) has a plan to get the controlling shares of Deception away from Michael (Rory Gibson). She wants her daughter, Serena (Kelly Kruger) to seduce Michael. She tells her, “Pick out your most seductive suit.” Soon, we see Serena in her bathing suit at the Metro Court face to face with Michael.

Later, there is a small baggie containing three blue pills. Nina (Cynthia Watros) ask Willow (Katelyn MacMullen), “What did you do?” We also see Michael asking the same thing of Jacinda (Paige Herschell). Leading into this week, viewers know that Willow doesn’t want the former escort anywhere near her children, Amelia and Wiley. Is this how she stops her, or is Jacinda up to old tricks and wants to frame Willow? Remember when Jacindsa drugged Drew (Cameron Mathison)? Stay tuned.

Finally, in the pick-up from last Friday’s cliffhanger, an emotional Jason (Steve Burton) continues to tell Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he cannot work for him anymore. Sonny ask, “So that’s it? You’re Out?” We fade to black.

Take a look at the official GH spoilers for the week below.

TUESDAY, AUGUST 4

Published

Vincent Pastore, best known for his memorable role as Salvatore “Big Pussy” Bonpensiero on HBO’s The Sopranos has passed away.

The veteran actor was found dead on August 1st in his home in the Bronx, New York. Pastore was 80-years-old. The cause of death is yet to be determined.

As well as his role on The Sopranos, many soap fans will recall he played multiple smaller roles on the beloved One Life to Live from 1995 and 2004. However, in 2008, he landed the short-term role as Maximus Giambetti on General Hospital.

PASTORE WANTED TO BE ON GENERAL HOSPITAL

Maximus was the mobster father of Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) bodyguards: Max (Derk Cheetwood) and Milo (Drew Cheetwood)

According to Soap Opera Digest, Pastore told Soaps In Depth back in 2009, after appearing in a SOAPnet promotional campaign as a celebrity fan of General Hospital: “‘I’d love to be on the show. So they called up GH’s casting director (Mark Teschner) and Bobby (Robert Guza Jr. ex-head writer, GH) and they wrote me in!”

Pastore was a huge General Hospital fan from way back, who at one point told producers that he would watch the ABC soap opera while working in bars and nightclubs in the 70s and 80s.

Throughout his decades long career, Pastore appeared in films including: Goodfellas, Carlito’s Way and Men of Respect, The Jerky Boys: The Movie and the 1996 HBO TV movie Gotti.

In TV, besides The Sopranos, Pastore’s credits included: Law & Order, The Practice, Son of the Beach, Queens Supreme, Hawaii Five-0, Wu-Tang: An American Saga, plus the miniseries The Last Don II. Most recently, Vincent was a series regular on Gravesend and guest starred on Yellowjackets.

Pastore is survived by his daughter, Renee, son-in-law and granddaughter.
