GENERAL HOSPITAL: Esme’s Veiled Threat to Nikolas, “I Want To Tell Ava and Spence We Slept Together”
Everything’s coming up roses for Esme Prince (Avery Pohl), or at least it seems to be after Monday’s episode of General Hospital.
After Esme drugs Oz, he begins to pass out while she hides as Curtis (Donnell Turner) breaks down Oz’s door. When Curtis enters the apartment, Oz utters, “She gave me something,” and then passes out. Next, Curtis calls 911 due to an unresponsive Oz, and he is soon whisked away by paramedics to GH, while Esme escapes sight unseen.
Elsewhere, at the lobby of the hotel, Ava (Maura West) and Nikolas (Marcus Coloma) are joined by Spencer (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) where they go over the events that transpired at Trina’s (Tabyana Ali) trial. At the same time, Nikolas gets a text message from Esme who is now outside the hotel and tells him to come out and meet her, or she will come inside.

Once outside, Esme tells Nikolas that their secret is heavily weighing on her and wants to come clean to Ava and Spence. Esme tells Nikolas: “I want to tell Ava and Spence we slept together,” which mortifies Nikolas! He goes on to tell her it was a one time thing that will not happen again, so there is no need to bring it up. Next, Esme opines about feeling lost without the internship at Spring Ridge. So, what’s a guy to do? Tell the woman he slept with he will make sure her internship is reinstated by tomorrow! All fake smiles and crocodile tears, Esme’s machinations is working wonders for her.
At GH, TJ (Tajh Bellow) tells Curtis that they had to put Oz in a medically-induced coma, and they will have to see what drugs were in his system at the time he passed out. Curtis is sure Esme Prince was behind this and wants to prove the connection between her and Oz.
Now going for the trifecta, Esme calls GH and gets Dione at the nurses’ station. Esme pretends to be Oz’s daughter where she learns that her ‘dad’ is in a coma. That’s music to Esme’s ears and she is all smiles – grinning from ear to ear.
Share your thoughts on Esme’s reign of terror, and what you think will be her next move and ultimate downfall, in the comment section below.
I hate Esme, but Avery Pohl consistently knocks it out of the park!
Avery Pohl is superb as Esme. The writers, on the other hand, tend to forget some common sense items. Even if the burner phone was wiped clean, Esme’s prints would be all over Oz’s room. Should not be that easy for her to get away with the drugging.
Only way to redeem Esme is to tie her to a legacy character (other than Ryan). We all love a bad girl, but as Nell proved, it only goes so far.
Switching gears, who is this person impersonating Nikolas? The Cassadine prince was always one of the smartest characters. Charming, but bad when he needed to be. Just ask Hayden Barnes. Whether it’s the writing or Coloma’s acting (or both) Nikolas currently lacks the warmth of his mother nor the ruthlessness of his grandmother Helena. True Cassadines know how to make problems disappear.
Steve, you said it best. I wouldn’t mind Esme staying on IF she tries to make changes. Ms. Pohl is excellent and deserves a steady role. Nikolas is a bigger problem. I don’t know who or where he is anymore and I LIKE Marcus Coloma. But you can’t just “defang” such a complex character and turn him into a weak, cheating wimp. Just doesn’t track.
Loved the scenes between Ava and Esme but I was hoping and expecting more from Ava. I actually thought she’d beat the hell out of Esme or even throw her off the parapet. Esme is so good with those evil eyes and she was just dieing to tell her about Ryan and how terribly Ava wronged him. I wonder if Esme knows he killed Kikki and all his other atrocities?
Watched Thursday’s episode with Esme & Ryan. Could the writers possibly be hinting Esme’s birth mother is Felicia? I don’t recall a rape in their storyline back then, nor if Felicia left town afterwards (to hide having a baby?), but it wouldn’t be the first time soap history has been reinvented.
Felicia back on the canvas this year… recent baby discussions with Mac… Ryan’s probably lying to Esme about reuniting with her mom someday, but it makes me wonder.
They’ve been dropping anvils about Felicia being Esme’s birth mom for a while now. There was no rape storyline, but Felicia did have a few bouts of amnesia in the 90s which could account for “forgotten birth syndrome”.
Ryan’s faked declaration of not knowing the birth mother may be a tactic to prolong the storyline until Kristina Wagner returns.
Steve
There are many rumors that Felicia is Esme’s birth mom. If this is true, I think Esme will return pregnant and Felicia will take the baby when and if Esme dies, after everything comes out. I think this was what Ryan was alluding to the last time he spoke to Esme, that is if we can believe a word that comes out of that Physco’s mouth.

GENERAL HOSPITAL Preview: Serena Sets Her Sights on Michael; Jason’s Emotional Exit from the Mob

This week on all-new episodes of General Hospital, new and old motivations come into play with dangerous consequences. According to the just released GH video spoilers video for the week of August 3-7, a bailiff calls out, “All rise!”

Vincent Pastore of ‘Sopranos’ Fame and ‘General Hospital’s’ Maximus Giambetti Dies at 80

Vincent Pastore, best known for his memorable role as Salvatore “Big Pussy” Bonpensiero on HBO’s The Sopranos has passed away.
The veteran actor was found dead on August 1st in his home in the Bronx, New York. Pastore was 80-years-old. The cause of death is yet to be determined.
As well as his role on The Sopranos, many soap fans will recall he played multiple smaller roles on the beloved One Life to Live from 1995 and 2004. However, in 2008, he landed the short-term role as Maximus Giambetti on General Hospital.

PASTORE WANTED TO BE ON GENERAL HOSPITAL
Maximus was the mobster father of Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) bodyguards: Max (Derk Cheetwood) and Milo (Drew Cheetwood)
According to Soap Opera Digest, Pastore told Soaps In Depth back in 2009, after appearing in a SOAPnet promotional campaign as a celebrity fan of General Hospital: “‘I’d love to be on the show. So they called up GH’s casting director (Mark Teschner) and Bobby (Robert Guza Jr. ex-head writer, GH) and they wrote me in!”
Pastore was a huge General Hospital fan from way back, who at one point told producers that he would watch the ABC soap opera while working in bars and nightclubs in the 70s and 80s.
Throughout his decades long career, Pastore appeared in films including: Goodfellas, Carlito’s Way and Men of Respect, The Jerky Boys: The Movie and the 1996 HBO TV movie Gotti.
In TV, besides The Sopranos, Pastore’s credits included: Law & Order, The Practice, Son of the Beach, Queens Supreme, Hawaii Five-0, Wu-Tang: An American Saga, plus the miniseries The Last Don II. Most recently, Vincent was a series regular on Gravesend and guest starred on Yellowjackets.
Pastore is survived by his daughter, Renee, son-in-law and granddaughter.
