On Friday’s episode of ABC’s General Hospital, Luke (Tony Geary) and Laura (Genie Francis) take a stroll down memory lane when they land back in British Columbia and the diner that they once ran, The Triple L! Laura begins to say how much she loved the place, because at that point they were in one spot and not on the run.  (Even though they were in hiding!)

Next, Laura asks Luke if he was unhappy during the times he could not be on the run to which the two shared a heartfelt moment and viewers again caught a glimpse of the magic of longtime scenes partners Francis and Geary.

As the episode came to its conclusion, and as the two parents hope for clues will lead them to find their son Lucky (Jonathan Jackson) who is in danger, Laura’s cell phone rings and the voice at the other end, which sounds like a male’s voice says, “Hello Laura and Luke. Welcome back to the Triple L!”   But, whose voice is it?  Which enemy from Luke and Laura’s past is behind Lucky’s disappearance?  In the final moments, someone walks into the diner and Luke can’t believe who it is!

So what did you think about the scenes today between Tony and Genie? Who do you think is the voice pulling the strings in this final Luke and Laura adventure?  Who came in the door …  could it be Holly (Emma Samms)? Comment below!

well,
they brought Holly back for a reason, so yah she has Lucky..

I don’t think Holly is behind Lucky’s kidnapping, although I do think it’s her at the door to the diner. My hunch is that Holly is looking for Ethan, who was kidnapped just like Lucky. Remember that Luke and Laura were living in British Colombia when hiding from Frank Smith. His daughter, Jennifer Smith, is still out there. She was obsessed with Luke… very strong possibility it’s her with revenge on her mind and the lives of Luke’s sons used as her leverage.

Joel, I think you’re right. But the previews underscores a female voice telling Luke to put the gun down if he wants to see his son alive.
The voice we hear has no British accent.

I hadn’t seen the preview with the non-British female voice, which leads me to believe it is Jennifer Smith.

I think it is Jennifer Smith too. Only problem with this-if it is a recast, it won’t mean much to the fans or to the history of the show-IMO. I also think Ethan was kidnapped and that Holly will be helping Luke and Laura trying to find the missing boys.

I think it’s Holly but she’s not the kidnapper. I think the kidnapper also has Ethan. Something tells me that the crazy freak Jennifer Smith is back…Roseanne or Sally Struthers!

I missed Thursday and only saw the last half of Friday, so maybe they explained this: don’t I remember the Triple L exploding as Luke and Laura went back on the run and headed back to Port Chuck? I do love this anyway; a great way to relive the past glory, as TG exits.

The Triple L did not explode..
The truck exploded..

the video was posted on RC’s twitter.. the before and after the explosion ..
After the explosion of the truck the Triple L was not damaged.

Thanks su0000 for jogging my memory. It has all come back and is crystal clear to me now!

Thank you-I thought the diner exploded too and that the writers were attempting to rewrite history-once again!

I really do hope… that my idea… that Nikolas… is behind all this… and that … Luke … takes the fall… and to his grave… that Laura and Lucky are reunited… and move

Lucky exits… and Laura… with Nikolas… Spence.. mom, Lesley… with…

ta-da

Stephen Nichols… Stefan Cassadine… helm… Port Charles.. and take over abound…
intrigue and mystique aplenty

as only these actors can

Stefan, Laura, Nikolas, Spence, Lesley, (my first choice, Britta, near first, Hayden, and if need be, Liz.. she’s so much better with Jake… to carry with…)

let it be : FV / RC

Frank Smith’s daughter is my guess; though I don’t know her history or if it’s even possible.

0oohh gee this is bad
Luke and laura are boring the bejesus out o me..

i’m more interested and excited over Nik and the Q’s..

su000, you’re just trying to push our buttons.

Harry,
I am not pushing buttons..
Luke and Laura are boring.. it might get better but I was bored watching them..
Nik and the Q’s is truly more exciting, at this point anyways..

Su000, you can see that you find them boring but to make a blanket statement that they are boring is just wrong. Try and stating your opinion as just that–an opinion and not as a fact.
I found them to be very interesting and yes, they still have sparks. However, these are internal sparks not visible or obvious to the eye.
Something tells me you don’t appreciate subtlety.

Oh, Harry. I need to ask my husband what dry humping means. Never heard the term before, but it sounds kinky-naughty. LOL.

Oh why, su000, because Laura is NEW… to you? The BEST scenes on Friday were by far Laura & Luke, such rich history. Enjoy it… relish in it… and, as you say all the time… wait for it! 😛

Jeremy–yes!
I fast forwarded through those repugnant scenes which involved Denise/Ava dry humping Morgan as well as anything involving Kiki just to get to the Luke and Laura scenes.
For me, it was very very compelling and it involved good character writing as well as good acting.

hey Jeremy 🙂
yah from someone who was not there through the Luke and Laura years, I’m not feeling it ..
however! Luke is awesome, I have seen and loved him for many years..
And- yuppers they were boring/dull.. at least so far. I’m sure they it pick up!

Great to see you are having a great time watching the two once again 🙂

Hmmmm!!!! Methinks, su ‘likes herself’ some bad boys…yeah, su?
I give you credit where it is due. I am not feeling Luke and Laura either. No vibe. Then again, look at Luke…yuck!!!!

@su.
Yes, I do not get these two together. But, I absolutely love Laura. I FEEL her. It is Luke that is out of place. She will bring it home for me with someone else.
You, on the other hand, love Luke. I do not.
We are half way there, Girl. However, you have the right to express your feelings and no one has the right to suppress them for you. It would be a boring world if we all loved the same thing.
I, for one, enjoy your posts…and, sparring with you. Sometimes we agree, sometimes we do not. Bottom line? I respect any input anyone would like to share. That includes you, friend. How’s that?LOL.

CeeCee…we loose our looks as we get old…lucky for me i wasnt born with any…lol

Su…they are just characters there to entertain us…now sit back and enjoy or instead go on utube when they are on and enjoy endless scenes of Y&R with Nik and Sharon…lol…nice to hear youve joined our GHs complainers club…i knew that would happen su-ner or later…lol

hey CeeCee, good to know I am not the only one to not feel Luke and Laura, as said ”no vib” for me either..

Hi Jimh,
naww I love my GH, not complaining about it..
I’m just not feeling Luke and Laura, they are boring me and look weird together (age thing..
I wish they would do something interesting and exciting so CeeCee and me can feel a vib .. lol

Awwww, Jim. We may talk about good looks, but deep down, it is what’s inside that counts. Sure, the first thing that attracts is physical appearance, but all that beauty, which one may possess, becomes as ugly as one’s bad disposition.
Don’t beat yourself up. I’m sure you are a handsome devil…LOL. I bet you made all the girl’s hearts go potter-patter. I’m serious.

Pitter-patter

Nik is more intereseting so far…Luke and Laura might improve…their adventure is just getting started!!!

It has to be Cesar Faison!!!! They have to have one final showdown!! Or Helena Cassadine!!!!

Yes, of course, richard!!!!! I forgot about those two. Makes the most sense.

What did I think of the Luke and Laura scenes? I think they were things of beauty–bittersweet, sad and yet powerful as memories do afford a powerful whallop.
I loved Luke and Laura looking at the picture of themselves with ten year old Lucky.
Also, appreciated Luke telling Laura that he had no regrets about his life with her and that she made him feel whole.
I had some trepidation about the Luke and Laura scenes but so far they have been handled deftly as those two prove that they still have that inexplicable and intangible magic.
Sorry, Luke never ignited that kind of magic, or chemistry with Tracy. I love Tracy but she and Luke always just felt like really good buddies to me. They’re kind of evocative of Captain Renault and Sam who walk into the sunset after the latter says to the former, “This could be the start of a beautiful friendship.” To me, that’s Luke and Tracy while Luke and Laura are more evocative of Sam and the Ingrid Bergman character.
Luke and Laura? Play it again, Sam.

Harry, hi ..
not pushing your button, sigh but-
Luke looks like he could be Laura’s father and that is a fact..
They now look weird together, but then again they are not a romantic sexy couple they are just on a journey together..

Luke and Tracy rock…!!

Luke and Tracy rock because they look, age wise, like a couple but L&L were adventurous together. Tracy and Luke look like they should be sitting in the Q’s living room having a martini. L&L had zest!

Ahem–forgive my mistake–Sam was the piano player and Humphrey Bogart played Rick, not Sam.

I loved L&L’s scenes at the Triple L. I think what is wrong with some of the other posters is that they didnt follow L&L all the way from the beginning. If you are just being introduced to them and just not reading about their history, yes Friday’s show with their scenes could have come off a little boring. Also, Tony was a lot older than Genie when they arrived. Therefore, Tony does look to be old enough to be Genie’s father. Nothing can be done. It does happen in real life.

Anna and Luke’s farewell scene would be boring to those who didn’t know one of their characters prior to their good-bye…or didn’t watch their friendship/short romantic relationship. Likewise, the reason Luke and Laura work is because those of us who knew them together feel their bond, their shared history. The scene didn’t have to be dynamic, action-packed; it was two characters with a rich, emotionally charged past together again on-screen. And, like Harry, seeing the picture of Luke, Laura and young Lucky was a nice touch of nostalgia and shows just how far back this couple goes.

As for the age thing, I don’t even notice it. Laura’s not the bloom of youth anymore…there are telltatale signs in her face/neck…doesn’t matter. I just see LAURA. I see LUKE. Not their ages…just the couple.

Laura did bring up Frank Smith??? How glad she was Luke had done away
with him….. This has to be an old nemesis of Luke’s or a relative of FS…
Sentimental moment between L&L.. Very touching.

Hi Fanny. If I remember correctly it was you who recommended two other shows after I finished True Blood, yes?

If so, can’t find that post. Which ones and in which order should I watch them? I was riveted to my TV…gobbled up all seven seasons of TB in a little over a week. Loved it and already miss it. Didn’t like the way it ended, though… Not at all. Wish there was a post mortem forum here for that show. But then again, I was a newbie so it’s past tense for those viewers who watched it in real time. What can I say that I haven’t already said? Okay…I’m going to say it again. LOVED IT!!! Hated to get to the end.

Hi Rebecca, yes it was me… Start with The Vampire Diaries
then move on to The Originals… U can ask me anything at
anytime… ENJOY!!!

Hey Fanny…sigh…so sad. LOL…I’ll “try” to get into the two you mentioned…just that my mindset is still with Bill, Sookie, Eric, Lafayette, Tara, Sam…etc.

Loved seeing Nathan (gorgeous as always). Wasn’t thrilled with “Diane.” She plays the same part in every show she’s in. And LOVED Pam. The actress is great in Once Upon A Time as well…

Wasn’t it Britt’s voice at the door (in
the preview)? Faison’ daughter? Seeking
Daddy’s approval by assisting with his
dirty work? Be gentle…first time contributor.
Thanks.

Yeah, that’s true…Britt’s hand might be dipping into daddy’s crazy, evil world. But, the opposite could also be true. She may warn Luke and Laura that her father has Lucky ….and, give their location.

WARNING LONG POST

I’m thinking Holly’s appearance has more to do with Ethan than Lucky. In any case, I can’t wait for Laura to share scenes with Holly. Genie Francis mentioned that she enjoyed these scenes as it was finally an opportunity for these two characters to hash out some things. Laura and Holly have not really shared many scenes at all throughout the years as long-time viewers know, just like Laura and Anna have not. Just take a look at the timeline of GH for these characters:

Shortly after Luke and Laura were married, “Ms. Star Eyes” Laura disappeared on the docks kidnapped by David Grey in 1982. Right after this happened, journalist Jackie Templeton (Demi Moore) showed up in town looking for her sister Laura Templeton (Janine Turner). Laura Spencer was presumed dead. Jackie ended up dating Robert. Luke met Holly in ’82 on a camping trip and they hooked up. She set him up as her family was scamming the citizens of PC. She eventually admitted the truth, was kidnapped, and Luke and Robert helped her. After an argument, Luke left and was later assumed to have “died” in an avalanche. Holly then discovered she was pregnant. Robert stepped up and agreed to marry Holly so she would not be deported, but she soon suffered a miscarriage after. Jackie and Robert had ended during this time. They grew closer and Luke, who was being tended to by his therapist and friend Natalie (really Natasha – part of the DVX) eventually returned and found them together…this converging with the Prometheus Disc storyline with Grant Putnam/Grant Andrews, Celia Quartermaine (Holly’s childhood best friend), etc…one of my favorites!

Robert and Holly eventually fell in love and were the new supercouple of GH. Jackie was the one to find Susan Moore (Jason’s mom) murdered and it was initially assumed that Susan’s cousin Heather killed Susan because she believed that Susan was going to turn in Scotty for forgery. Holly was the devoted wife to Robert while they helped to solve the Port Charles murder mystery. Jackie eventually left town with a Russian guy (can’t remember his name).

Then Laura returned in ’83 after being held by the Cassadines (Stavros – Nik’s father) and she and Holly met and shared some brief scenes before she and Luke left town (Luke had been mayor of PC during this time). He resigned and the two left town. The following year, they also shared some limited scenes in late ’84 during the Aztec Princess storyline at Felicia’s grandmother’s ranch (Luke/Laura, Robert/Holly, Frisco/Felicia, Sean Donely etc.) when Robert went to save Luke who was framed for murder and that is when Laura found out she was pregnant with Lucky, but then Luke and Laura were gone again.

Later Anna arrived in town wearing her scar and it was eventually brought to Holly’s attention that she was Robert’s ex-wife who was a double spy who worked for both the WSB and the DVX. Holly and eventually Anna’s younger sister Lindsey had also shared the same nanny growing up who happened to be Faison’s mother, Nanny McTavish. Anna tried to undermine Robert’s and Holly’s marriage much to the dismay of Celia who was overprotective of Holly (she couldn’t stand Anna – I loved those scenes), but eventually accepted them together. Holly and Anna made amends and Holly was to move to Australia in ’85 with Robert after they reconciled over Robert’s ex Anna, but he ended up delaying his departure and staying in town when his unknown daughter Robin arrived. Robert eventually left for Australia to join Holly after the Asian Quarter storyline ended (Brad’s family), but then returned in ’87 after Holly “died”in a plane crash.

During this time, Anna became police commissioner and fell for Duke Lavery who worked for the mob. It was later discovered that his ex Camilla had been involved in the death of Evan Jerome. Anna broke up with Duke and quit her job. She became a PI and teamed up with Robert again after he returned in ’87 with news that Holly “died” in a plane crash. Anna and Duke eventually reunited and married. The real Grant later kidnapped Anna and Robert and Duke helped to save her. Duke made a promise to Julian on his deathbed (faked death) to help Julian’s father Victor legitimize the mob. Julian’s sister Olivia, who was responsible for the supposed death of Julian and wanted to be in charge of the family mob business, fell in love with and was obsessed with Duke and was later responsible for Anna losing her unborn child. Victor later died after Lucy rejected him and he choked to death on a necklace he had made for her. Julian set up Olivia for Duke’s death and when she found out, he killed her. Jonathan Paget would show up in town and eventually was assumed to be Duke. He would eventually die in a shootout with Julian who was also “killed”. Robert and Anna would eventually fall in love again.

Holly would return in ’92 after Robert and Anna had remarried and let Robert know she had been in a car accident and in coma for about 2 years. This worried Anna, but Holly, selflessly believing that Robert had moved on with his life, tried not to come between Robert and Anna. Shortly thereafter, Anna had been kidnapped. Robert and Anna were then presumed dead along with Faison in a boat explosion. Holly mourned Robert and with Mac, helped to console Robin and she eventually hooked up with Luke’s look-alike cousin Bill Eckert after his failed relationship with Julia Barrett (Brenda’s sister). Holly eventually broke it off with Bill and left town. Bill was later shot and killed when mistaken for Luke by Frank Smith’s henchman and he died in Luke’s arms. At this point, Luke and Laura had returned to PC to join Lucky who had already returned and found Ruby after they had spent time in British Columbia at the Triple L Diner, but fled after being discovered by the Smith organization. Laura would eventually give birth to Lulu, who wound up needing a bone-marrow transplant which resulted in Laura summoning Stefan Cassadine to bring her son Nicholas to town (Alexis also came with) which caused a rift between her and Luke.

Faison would later show up alive in Corinth, PA (Loving) in 1993 which gave hope to fans that Robert and Anna would also turn up alive. Faison reappeared in Switzerland in 1999 under an alias who had been in cahoots with Luke for years and eventually (along with Helena) kidnapped Lucky and made everyone believe Lucky was dead. Faison was again eventually presumed dead in another boat explosion orchestrated by Helena.

The presumed-dead, but very much alive and critically ill Anna would reappear in Pine Valley (All My Children) in 2001 after her twin sister Alex was summoned to a cabin where a man named Bart was taking care of her after rescuing her years before. She eventually regained her memory, spy skills, and married David and reunited with Robin, but left David after she suffered a miscarriage and could no longer deal with his manipulations. She eventually left to join Robin in Paris.

Also by 2001, Luke and Laura had already been estranged due to a few things. Laura’s confession in the 90’s that she had given birth to Nicholas, Luke’s continuous involvement in the mob, Laura’s murder trial for supposedly killing Damian Smith, the revelation that Laura and Stefan had been lovers, the supposed death of Lucky, as well as Felicia’s testimony during Stefan’s murder trial that she slept with Luke led to the demise of the star-struck couple. That year, they officially divorced. Laura later put her renewed relationship with Scotty on hold and confessed her love for Luke again. Later, they decided to remarry and after a situation with Jennifer Smith (Luke’s ex), they began to prepare to be remarried. This is when Laura began discovering hidden memories while Felicia helped her find her old wedding dress in the Webber attic. On the eve of her wedding, Laura discovered that she had killed Rick Webber’s former love in that same attic many years before which Scotty and Rick had covered up. During the realization, she accidentally killed Rick during a scuttle and had a breakdown. By 2002, Laura deteriorated and she eventually ended up in Shadybrook. Luke eventually established a relationship with Skye and then Tracy (they eventually married).

In 2006, Robert, who had been presumed dead, returned to Port Charles alongside Luke who had come into contact with a deadly virus. Holly would not return again to Port Charles until 2006 as well when she held the antidote for the deadly encephalitis virus and demanded a ransom for it. Luke, Robert, and Holly eventually found themselves imprisoned after getting involved in a jewelry heist in the Markham Islands, and Anna showed up and took the jewels from Holly. Anna later returned to PC and was also part of the investigation of Lorenzo Alcazar, but then left town. Later that year, Robin suggested to Luke that Laura try a new experimental drug on Laura. Laura emerged from her catatonic state not realizing Luke was married and began planning to remarry Luke as everyone played along. Eventually, the drug wore off and Laura returned to her catatonia, but not before they celebrating a holiday together and she confessed to Lulu that she didn’t believe she killed Rick Webber – eventually is was found out that Scotty did.

The next year, Anna revisited PC and hooked up with Noah and eventually left on another mission. Anna would return a couple more times thereafter (along with Robert), including when Robin married Patrick and to visit her granddaughter.

In 2008, Laura emerged from catatonia, but asked Lulu to keep it a secret. Her children visited and Scott took Laura away to try to recapture their past. Luke eventually admitted his marriage to Tracy and Tracy arranged for Laura’s doctor to (who created drug) to take Laura back to France. Laura was hesitant, but agreed because she said how worried her family was.

In 2009, Holly lured Luke to Singapore (Tracy and Ethan tagged along). She tried to seduce Luke to leave Tracy, but eventually confessed to being Ethan’s mom from an affair with Luke many years earlier. She left town, but admitted that when she had found out she was pregnant, Luke had already reconciled with Laura, so she gave Ethan up for adoption only let Ethan know the truth when his adoptive parents were killed.

In 2012, Anna returned to town because Robin’s health was deteriorating. Eventually, it was assumed that Robin died in the lab explosion. Luke and Tracy were on the outs again and Luke helped console Anna and the two developed a friendship and relationship.

Also in 2012, Holly again returned to save Ethan and claimed to Helena that Ethan was really Robert’s son, not Luke’s. Luke continued that lie to Robert in order to give him hope after Robin’s supposed death. This sent Robert on a search to find Ethan.

In 2013, Laura returned to town with Scott as they were engaged, but secretly still had feelings for Luke. It was during this time that LAURA AND ANNA MET FOR THE FIRST TIME (crazy).

In addition, in August 2013, Holly returned after taking care of Robert to join Luke to find Jerry Jax regarding the Polonium poisoning cure (we got to see Sean Donely again!). Holly and Luke ended up in Corinth, PA (Loving) – same place Faison once lived – and it would be THE FIRST TIME SINCE 1984 THAT SHE AND LAURA WOULD SHARE A SCENE TOGETHER!!

Fast forward to the next week or two and Laura and Holly will finally get to have some substantial scenes together again. Can’t wait!!

Wow, a Liam. Thanks. As a newbie, I really needed that. Great!!!!

Well done! Bravo on your very well written recap of GH history.
Thank you!

I think that came from Wikipedia ..
but it is informative no matter where from..

Sibling rivalry rears it’s head in the most unexpected places.

‘its’, not ‘it’s.’ Nasty contractions!
Sorry!
And to Timm’s post, yes I agree that if you weren’t there to watch the ethereal magic that was Luke and Laura, these scenes might be dull to you.
This speaks to Kay’s point that flashbacks would have been very effective.

I actually came back for the day to watch but, when Luke said he had no regrets I gagged Tony G has ruined the romance with his Luke never loved laura and he wants tracy..TG has ruined L&L . Genie Francis sure is nice to see her, and like the others have said, Could be Holly at the door ready to rescue Lucky and Ethan. I will watch the rescue and I am looking forward to seeing JJ and NP. Unlike most of the others I do like Nathan Parsons. I wouldn’t be disappointed if he turned out to be Holly’s and Roberts. I will watch this but I will also turn the show back off when its finished. Mobs no thanks. This show is nothing like the old GH.

OK-
Luke and Laura mean diddly to me..
I am a Tracy and Luke fan.
I was so happy that Tracy was finally going to be happy and her and Luke were engaged and celebrating their love with friends and family
Luke told Tracy some very heartfelt beautiful love feelings and made Tracy feel like the Queen of his heart..

Then Laura bursts in like a bull in china shop and ruins everything.
Laura humiliated dear Tracy, she humiliated and embarrassed Tracy to the bone on the happiest day of her life, she was finally going to marry Luke.
And now it will be very hard for me to like Laura. What Laura did, the way she did it, is unforgivable.
She did not need to inform Luke at the expense of Tracy’s heart, not then not there.
Laura is on my crap list….
(that is not a bad thing Sharon will now have a new friend.. aaha! 🙂
Of course that could change without notice in time ..

I do need to add-
Kudus to RC and Team for the Tracy & Luke heartbreak moment, that was true soap writing!!!
A BRAVO! to the writers for playing it true to soap tragedy love drama with the Tracy & Luke not gonna happen soapy moment!!

I am a Tracy fan, period.
Bbbbut , Luke is going ….Adios amigo…..arrivederci…auf wiedersehen ….Tot ziens….farvel….Tioraidh….goodbye.

CeeCee, hi..
Like your goodbyes .. lol
I will truly miss Tony/Luke, he is a great one..
But people move out and on, but still 🙁 🙁 🙁

Well, Su00, as you so like to tell people, it’s a soap. Of course Laura had to come in during the engagement party because that is what is called conflict.
Moreover, Laura did not know she was walking on their engagement party.
Tracy is not the love of Luke’s life, Laura is.

dear Harry..
In the past two decades, Tracy is Luke’s love of his life as he emotionally handed his heart to Tracy, their love rang bells in heaven….

Luke and Laura are has-beens and they will not get giggly sexy or hotty lovey dovey, they are all done but the wiping ..

Tracy and Luke are age appropriate and they have saved each other many time, they have a good enduring strong love..

Luke and Tracy, forever !!

As one button pusher said to another, “I get you.”
Su00, Tracy and Luke have not been involved for twenty years.
I would have to go back to trace their history but it’s more like ten years.
I love Tracy–I really do. But she and Luke are just really good buddies–I feel that they have no chemistry as romantic partners.
And how many times has he thrown her over making her feel like leftovers? Too many times to mention.

SU000, it’s fine if you don’t like Laura and Luke together. But, I think what everyone is trying to get through to you, is that General Hospital probably wouldn’t even be on the air today if it weren’t for the Luke and Laura storyline/history. Do you grasp that? Respect the history please.

I think it would have been lovely if they had shown flashbacks of them dancing in the Diner. RC throw us a bone and play some old flashbacks of their life and then maybe everybody can move on. TG as my Mom would say has simply gotten grumpy in his old age and if you think someone who has worked on and off together have never had a squabble then I have some land in California I will sell you for $1.00 an acre. Everybody let it be let TG retire and enjoy his last few weeks I am just glad Genie got to be a part of it. Sometimes what goes on behind closed doors needs to stay private.

Kay! There are you are–you’ve been missed.
Yes, I agree some flashbacks would have enhanced the moment but I was happy to see Luke pay his history with Laura the respect it so well deserves.

“…Kay! There are you are–you’ve been missed. ”

resounding , yes

you know… let it be amicable… and Genie Francis shares Laura chapter

an equal aplomb

frankly… I think… Genie Francis… has to much more forward.. storyline feature… than AG

pelt

Stefan comes back…. Laura loves… with son NIkolas… grandson Spence

mom, Lesley Webber… treats

what’s la la land more than that?

@Harry…..With her fabulous figure, Sam should be one of the easiest characters to attractively attire on GH, and yet, such is seldom the case…..you have nailed her too-often raggedy Jennifer Beals look to a “t!” As for DenAva….I guess the GH wardrobe department hit the closing sales at Frederick’s of Hollywood retail stores for all of her tacky tartwear……and while they were there, I’m sure they also found some bondage-themed bustiers and other décolletage-baring blouses for Alexis….she really goes for that sort of stuff—the lower-cut, the better!

Hey, k/kay! Welcome back! I was just about to ask if anybody had run into you on the non-GH threads since it’s been so long since you’ve graced us here with your presence! I hear you about the flashbacks….they add such a rich sense of history to the iconic characters’ stories, and particularly should be used in TG’s send-off. As for your notion of “letting him be,” I do agree to a certain extent…we have verbally flogged “Fluke” and lashed out at Luke long enough….and should now simply enjoy Geary’s swansong, come what may. However, it seems to me that the majority of recent (Luke and) Laura posts are really more about the abiding affection many feel for GF and how thrilled they are by her return to the GH canvas for her co-star’s final bow, and much less about actively bashing either TG or his character…..been there, done that! The only things left to say to him are goodbye, God bless and thanks for the memories!

Good to be back lots of drama going on and someone hacked into my computer had to change a lot of personal data e mail addresses etc. Shay I was not attacking anybody about picking on TG he is a big boy he can take it. I just never have figured out why we can’t enjoy them both and what each has contributed to daytime together and apart. I am hoping however that now GH has more in their budget since Tony is leaving we can buy Alexis & Sam some turtlenecks and Nina a dress that fits! Take care everybody!

k/kay..
I love Nina’s dresses.. she has the body to wear them and when one has a great long legged body their clothing always will look a bit sex..
Put the same dress on Lulu, same dress different appearance..

Friday on Y&R both Summer and Avery had their boobies hanging out
they should have put them in a crage..
guess it’s a soap-wear thing.. lol
women have their boobies hanging out and the men never hang anything out..

@Suoo not picking on Staffords figure just saying she had a gray dress on two weeks ag that was crass looking. In the words of Mammy from Gone With The Wind It ain’t fittin it just ain’t fittin.

Oh, k/kay! I didn’t think YOU were criticizing anyone who still has less than kind words for Mr. Geary….quite frankly, during your absence, many of us had much harsher comments than those here regarding the Fluke fiasco, but that has since considerably waned. As far as I’m concerned, I’ve vented and said my piece….I’m ready to wave a conciliatory farewell to Mr. Geary, and I’m delighted that Genie Francis is back to do likewise! I’m so sorry to hear of your cyber tribulations……they really throw your whole life for a loop! A few years back, I installed a new version of a security program, and the darn thing became stuck deep inside my computer….it quit working, which allowed viruses and malware in, but at the same time, I couldn’t delete the inferior product to replace it. It took quite bit of time and tech intervention to set things right…I’d love to mention the name of the software company involved, but won’t! At any rate, I adored your suggestion for allocating some of the proceeds from the “AG Savings Fund” toward GH’s wardrobe department, but alas, even if they were to purchase the entire stock of “Turtlenecks R Us,” I doubt Alexis would deign to don one. You know what they say….you can lead a horse to water, but you cannot make them drink! LOL….Ditto for Nina, she seems to love obsessively tugging at those too-short/small mini dresses!!! You take care, too, “Kind Lady,” and don’t be a stranger! Later!

Off with the heads of the GH wardrobe department!
They put Sam in the most inexplicably God awful attire which makes her look like a Flashdance threw up all over her. Genie Francis has lost all kinds of weight and looks terrific but they dress her in dreary monochromatic black and here it is summer time. Ava/Denise looks like a cheap hooker from the streets of London and Nina’s form fitting dresses bring out her already prominent reptilian presence. Meanwhile, Alexis is searching for scraps and crumbs from last night’s dinner which dwell in that great dark abyss known as her cleavage.

LOL, Harry! You KNOW I always defend Alexis but I’ve gotta admit…the ol’ scraps/crumbs/cleavage was rather witty. (Sorry, Alexis…the chuckle just came upon me.)

Without Luke and Laura there would be a real good chance GH wouldn’t be here today. We’ve all had times we wanted to ff through some stories/actors.

So for those who are bored, or “just don’t get it,” relax. I’m sure, or at least hopeful, RC will follow through with an exciting finale to the Luke/Tony story. Just like he did with the b/w flashback.

And if all, or any, of the Tony/Genie bad feelings are true it sure isn’t showing up so far. And great that Genie agreed to come back. But I will agree with some that it took a few scenes for them to get back some of the old togetherness.

And oh, some of us don’t mind older people doing it, tastefully. Some of the other comments remind me of kids not wanting to know how they got here in, even the slightest detail. You know…the ugh factor. None of us at any age invented the wheel, and affection or sex doesn’t go away when you reach….you pick a number.

I agree, Rose.
I also think K/Kay makes a good point when she suggests flashbacks would have really enhanced the Luke and Laura reunion while also underscoring their intangible magic for viewers who did not watch during the 80’s.
I know, I know—some of you weren’t even born yet and it’s not your fault.
Yes, flashbacks would be really nice. For instance, it would be lovely to see Luke and Laura dancing the waltz during the time they were hiding out in the department store.

That’s right, Harry…I wasn’t born during that memorable time. But, I still love romance.
Oh, by the by. Here’s another far-fetched semi-storyline seemingly creeping onto the GH stage. Jennifer Smith, whomever the heck she is, want Luke to spend one night with her in exchange for Lucky. Really? What younger, attractive and sexy woman in her right mind would want to touch Luke? He looks like the walking dead. Spare me, please. He better stock up on those booster pills, and ingest a STIFF dose.

Dear Harry…
Seeing flashbacks of a couple I’ve never seen and am not attached to would still be boring to me and most likely to all who started to GH after Luke and Laura..
It’s like having to watch your neighbor’s vacation pictures/video ..YAWN lol

You peoples are reminiscing .. seeing them as still being young and vibrant when in fact they have left that behind in past decades..
Luke and Laura are has-beens.. What remains of them is in peoples minds of a couple of decades past… (now a perception perhaps ..
I don’t feel any magic, none at all… Sorry, but they are nothing to all who started to watch after the Luke and Laura era.. And we are a great many.

Tracy and Luke are both 70ish.. they will not be dryhumping on the couch but they are decades together in their way and they are now .. Tracy and Luke are what they are supposed to be, they love deep and strong..

Anyways Harry.. You enjoy Luke and Laura, they will never be together again.
You are having a great time with Laura’s return and it’s fun to see you swooning and excited 🙂
I am looking forward to seeing their adventure.. I’m sure their story will pick up, and that will be a good thing..

@CeeCee….Touche’! The very thought that the extremely attractive Holly Gagnier (aka, “Jennifer Smith”….) would go to such machinations merely for the pleasure(?) of one night’s company with Luke is patently absurd, bordering on the absolutely delusional! If the character were still being portrayed by Roseanne, then yes, we could all get a gigantic giggle at the sheer campiness of the situation, but c’mon….all this nonsense for a man who over the past few years has scarcely been able to walk without grimacing? Oh, please! If Ms. Smith possessed even half of her marbles, she’d take advantage of having Lucky and Ethan in her current clutches and do what her heart desires with BOTH of them!!!!!! Better yet, she should set up shop in Port Charles and wrest—or is it rescue?—-Julian from Alexis’ bed!!!!!

@Shay.

Ohhh, Shay…I would love that. Jennifer and Julian would a stunning couple make!!!
Perhaps we are underestimating Luke. I am too embarrassed to ask either of my grandmothers ( I also have a great-grandmother…96 years young) what goes on in their bedrooms…..LOL.
But, as we both agree, it isn’t even the fact of; can he? Or can’t he? It is the idea that a woman who looks like that wants Luke. She has his son….how stupid. Gee, I’d take Lucky…hands down. Perhaps, she needs to prove to herself that she ‘had’ Luke? On her bucket list?

I actually mentioned Roseanne to Timmm. Not only would that scenario add comedic relief to this sadly ridiculous situation, but it would make so much more sense. I ask, WHY??? What are the writers thinking? I don’t think Geary deserves this witless send-off. Is it just moi?

You know, Shay, I am sure you will agree that showing cleavage (with taste) is fine. My husband loves the peek-a-boo effect. But, Alexis’ cleavage looks like a culo-crack. As you say,….out in the sun for far too long. And, while we will all age, we will try to contain what God gave us within the confines of decent clothing. I don’t mean dress like a nun or modestly, even. I’m not into modest, ….sassy, but decent. We could talk about this until we’re blue in the face….going around in circles….boring our fellow-posters. But, I just can’t help myself…LOL.

Now, you know how Sam just got on my nerves…..a complete irritant. But, she grew on me. I see, that with the right storyline, she comes to life. I also like her interaction with Billy Miller. I never thought these two would mesh. Who would have believed this coming from me? Her voice rose an octave yesterday and today…wow! Quelle surprise! I poo-pooed on the idea of them getting together, hither and yon. But, I like what I see. Sam must get some help with her wardrobe. I wonder if this is her real-life attire, day-in, day-out. Black jeggings, stiletto booties, white top, and flat hair. She is so attractive, with a come-hither body….so, what gives?
I think Sam and Jake will double up and play sleuth/gumshoe together. And, the more time they spend together, the closer Jake will be in remembering his past life as Jason….hopefully as a Quartermaine. Liz will be left licking her wounds.
I am so disappointed. I would have loved a different outcome for Liz and Jake! Sigh….

@CeeCee….Yes, I, too, would have wished for a happier outcome for the beauteous Liz, so heartbreakingly lovely and yet completely luckless (no pun intended….) in love!!!! There is just no justice in the world, or at least in Port Charles!!! As for Sam, you know I have long been a KM admirer, hence, it’s quite gratifying that we’ve finally arrived on the same page where she is concerned. While I can truly understand your previous criticisms of her character, I find she has a kittenish charm all her own, not to mention that bodacious bod! Plus, Sam definitely has come alive with Billy Miller’s charismatic Jake, but then, who wouldn’t? LOL….I thought the “double date dinner” was an interesting set-up for a possible switch in partners? (I’ve always championed Liz and Patrick to be most suitable prospective mates….particularly when the show runners were launching that particularly puke-worthy Putrina pairing, so perhaps now will be their time?) At any rate, from what little I have seen of KM’s real life look, it is pretty much the same as Sam’s, which is fine for the everyday essentials, but she could be so fantastic with the right onscreen apparel….much like Finola Hughes, with those same fierce lithe and lean Emma Peel-esque designer looks. Regardless, she manages to be fetching no matter how bland her fashions! Sammy still has a lot more going on in the style stakes than her disastrous, décolletage-dishing mama, Alexis….oy!!!! Mind you, I have no issues with a pulchritudinous type showing off her physical assets when appropriate….especially when it is in warmer temps and tastefully done….witness Maxie’s recent cute, summery outfits or even, say Olivia, and her occasional displays of va-va-voom . It’s when it is a constant, unattractive peep show on a platter that I simply do not comprehend what would possess a woman to put it all out there when it will inevitably invite less than favorable comments. That’s where I’m coming from, and I feel certain you are, as well!!!! Enough said on that subject…..at least for today! Haha! Lastly, those cringe-inducing sexual demands for Luke by Jennifer Smith are simply beyond the realms of my imagination….for me, it made the very game Holly Gagnier become Holly Gag-Me!!!!! But, bless her heart, she managed to convincingly pull it off with a straight face! Quite frankly, the only one who came out of that disturbing scene with any dignity intact was Genie Francis, although as I watched her, all I could wonder was what was going through the mind of this amazing actress. (Like maybe….”I came back for THIS?”) Despite loving her composed presence, I still felt as though I wasted an hour of my life watching this “indecent proposal”…..talk about “taking one for the team!” That’s what the audience was required to do!!!! Anyway, I cannot fathom carrying an unrequited torch like Ms. Smith’s for even a seriously hot guy, let alone the likes of Luke, and for decades on end???? At some point, shouldn’t one mourn what was apparently never meant to be and just move on? It’s quite one thing to idealize the image of a young love, but shouldn’t the harsh truth of seeing up-close and personal what now is a sadly time-worn reality send a person packing, if not downright running away, in horror? I guess Ms. Smith must have “Daddy issues!” That’s my only explanation…..

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).

Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.

Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON

Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”

Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).

Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.

“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?

During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.

Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.

You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.

Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason Reconnects with Danny; Tristan Roberts Arrives in Port Charles, Lots of Nods to #16

General Hospital’s 16,000th episode was packed with little reminders through points in today’s script that the ABC daytime drama series has set another milestone and it paved the way for the return of fan favorite and newly nominated Daytime Emmy Lead Actor nominee Steve Burton (Jason Morgan). The 16,000th episode also introduced viewers to the new surgeon in Port Charles Dr. Tristan Roberts played by Dean Geyer.

Here are the key takeaways and what went down on the July 13 episode: Tristan and Jason are seated next to each other on a plane heading to Port Charles. Throughout the flight, a beaten up Jason has flashbacks to being thrown into, and being held captive in a cell and tortured. It appears Jason is suffering from some form of PTSD from what he was put through after being dragged out of Port Charles by the WSB months ago.

As the plane prepares to land, Tristan tells Jason there would be a car waiting for him once they land and to enjoy the rest of his life. Later, Tristan arrives at the nurses and doctors hub at GH and approaches Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst). He tells her his name and that he is the new surgeon on staff.

A REUNION PLUS A HEAD NURSE DEFENDS SONNY

Meanwhile, at the end of the episode, Jason is outside the Quartermaine boathouse looking bewildered when he runs into Danny (Asher Antonyzyn), who is so thrilled to see his father, and the two hugs each other as tears are shed.

Elsewhere, Elizabeth tells Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he thinks its a great idea for him to get the 16th seat on the hospital board, but when it comes times to convince Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) of that, things go awry when Tracy, Laura and Sonny try to work things out. After Tracy launches into Sonny about killing Alan and Monica’s son AJ, Sonny walks away dejected.

Next, Sonny runs into Elizabeth, where he informs her what happened with Tracy. So what’s a head nurse to do? Elizabeth marches into the conference room and reminds Tracy of all the different donations and ways Sonny has contributed to the hospital from the Stone Cates AIDS wing, to the Michael Corinthos Center for Pediatric Head Injuries as well as his constant support each year for the GH Nurses’ Ball.

WSB WAR SCARS

Then, in one of the best parts for longtime fans of the series, Elizabeth talks about her legendary grandparents, Audrey and Steve Hardy and she tells Tracy they would have wanted Sonny to have a seat on the board for all the good that he has done for the hospital. After Elizabeth states Sonny’s case, things took a turn and Tracy and Sonny wound up shaking hands as Sonny is board member #16.

In the how great was it to see Anna (Finola Hughes) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) together scenes department, the pick-up of last Friday’s cliffhanger is played out as the two former lovers fill each other in on what has gone down in their lives in the last several months including Valentin admitting he had been living in Carly’s attic, and Anna realizing she was kidnapped by Cullum, Sidwell and Cassius Faison. During their conversation, Anna sees the hallucination of Peter August (Wes Ramsey) right while Valentin is standing there.

Later Anna was on her way to saying goodbye to Valentin, when the two share an emotional hug. After Valentin made his exit, Peter reappeared and warned Anna to not let Valentin distract her because she has important work to do. Anna answers, “I know.”

So, what did you think of General Hospital’s 16,000 episode? What do you think is wrong with Jason? What is the important “work” that Anna has to do? Were you glad to see Sonny get a seat on the hospital board, or not so much. Weigh-in via the comment section. But first, check out the scenes on Jason and Tristan’s long flight to Port Charles.
