GENERAL HOSPITAL: Is Jason Regaining His Memories A Bust … Or Is It An Emotional Heart-Tugger?

Courtesy/ABC

Courtesy/ABC

On General Hospital, this week has begun with Jason (Billy Miller) seemingly getting most of his memories back and letting the important people in his life including: Sam (Kelly Monaco), Carly (Laura Wright), Michael (Chad Duell), Monica (Leslie Charleson), and with Sonny (Maurice Benard) coming up on Wednesday’s episode, that he recalls their histories together.

This occurred after Jason suffered yet another head trauma following the police van carrying the late Carlos Rivera (Jeffrey Vincent Parise) crashing into Jason and his motorcycle.  In last week’s Jason-centric episode, he fights the will of Helena (Constance Towers) who had blocked his memories, and this time Jason came out victorious.

It has been a very long run and endurance test for General Hospital fans, who have stayed with the story since Billy Miller debuted on GH in the fall of 2014 as amnesiac Jason, who became “Jake” and was integrated back into the Port Charles canvas.  Miller took over the role from Steve Burton who had played Jason for over 20 years, before departing to The Young and the Restless to take on the role of Dylan McAvoy.

Now on Tuesday’s episode of the ABC sudser, Jason and Sam go to GH to have his head check from the accident and run into Monica.  He then tells her he remembers his father, Alan and what happened at the Metro Court hostage crisis, and his memories have returned.  Jason later visits Carly (Laura Wright) who is overcome, as Jason recalls the time they were in Florida together with a baby Michael, and that the moments they share throughout their lives has come back to him.  And then in a touching moment played by Chad Duell and Miller, Michael gets the man that looked after him growing up back in his life.

Was the reveal of Jason’s memories and the reconnections so long overdue that the scenes did not play to their full emotional impact, or did you find yourself pulled into the scenes and the moments between key characters and needing hankies?  Is the jury still out on this one? Share your thoughts on Jason’s memory returning and the key scenes in the comment section below!

it was a total bust, mind you the story is still playing out, but so far all the people he’s remembered are that infamous click of group of characters that at least half the audience sees as one group, i.e carly,,sonny, and sam, and michael, his “special” people, michael doesn’t bother me so much nor monica, but its just a repeat, if it plays out more balance then it could be better, or it would be better if he can remember as far as when he was jason Quartermaine, otherwise we are going to be going back to the same thing when the role was played by steve burton, its not “new” or “origianal” or improvement whatsoever so far.

Yes, a total bust–but–surprise!–what is NOT a total bust is the scene with Laura and Kevin–totally “grownup” people having meaningful, serious–and sometimes snappy dialogue! How refreshing–and Genie, you look so very great in that tailored suit–and Jon, you look suave. Made me think of the classic Remington Steele sleuth series with Pierce Brosnan and Stephanie Zembalist. (I loved that show!) A complete joy and surprise! Kudos to Genie and Jon–a great pairing with great chemistry. Genie looked totally relaxed–as did Jon–and the scene really worked. Kudos to the which ever writer who wrote the scene in the disco.

And Genie said just the right things about how the character of Laura felt about it al–the rape, etc–she didn’t “twist” or change the original storyline–giving full weight to the feelings and motivations of both Luke and Laura. Such a skillful actor–as is Jon Lindstrom. I think that’s a real pair.

And, it gets intriguing. Who is the current owner of the property? Why “Lucy and Lloyd,” of course, Luke and Laura’s names on the run. Now if the writers just continue the adventure in Beecher’s Corners or wherever it leads. Don’t let us down, writers–we’ve waited a L-O-N-G time for Genie to get her story (and GENIE has wailed a long time–and, I think, been very patient. Reward her with a great, grownup storyline. She deserves it. Again, such a break from the usual on GH. I want more Genie!

Nancy…Yes to Laura and Kevin!!! Really hoping the writers keep it up. And while “the mighty Luke” has to be part of this story, like how Genie gently and painfully relates their disco days.

you are laugh out loud hysterical…. that special group… that Frank Valentini has declared GH is LED by and ALL about

to all the posts who love them…. I’m OK with watching GH

I will adamantly post… I LOVE THE REST OF THE CAST ! they are huge and are so much more interesting… than: Sonny / Carly / Jason / Sam / Michael

that’s all the ” Naysay’ers” are posting… just MIX this huge cast .. get them reeling

Yes, Aria–it’s a case of too little, too late.

Its a lot better than the hold 2015, and that boring Jiz mess. When he was so called killed he was Jason M and long before that!Jason Q was with Liz and I have no ideal why he would be.We went back to Jiz again and it turned oyt the same way it did in 2006.He came on to play Jason Morgan!Love what he is doing and its really time to move on from Jiz!

I think that Jason probably loved ho. However, it’s not as ‘true love’ in my book as the show would paint it. Jason didn’t want to procreate with ho. He had made it clear he didn’t want kids in that life, and he didn’t want ho to get her swiss cheese uterus fixed for his chance to be a father. If I recall right, yes, they did the surgery on Jake’s birthday just months after his death. For all they had played up how great Jason’s loss was, that day showed me that no, he didn’t have a clue what it’s like to lose a child. He would have told ho outright what an insensitive individual shrew she was for planning this on Jake’s birthday. Parent who lose children are absolutely miserable on their child’s birthday once the child is gone. Liz was struggling that day, Jason wasn’t. Jason saw this when he ran into Liz at the hospital. He told her then that this is what ho wanted, and he was just there because he felt responsible for the fact she couldn’t have kids thanks to Manny (and of course the fact that Kelly Lee had told ho she also had no viable eggs was totally left out of the story never to be heard again-like most of her other flaws). That to me wasn’t a man who was there hoping to finally have another child, but more just a part of their typical tag along codependency routine.

Their marriage was mostly about Jason chasing after Liz leading her on when he shouldn’t have, and ho playing footsie with McBain. That’s not true love for either party. I can see Jason picking ho over Liz from the aspect that she didn’t want her kids raised near that kind of violence, and ho didn’t care about a child’s well being. She asked Jason to murder Hope’s grandmother so she could take the child as her own.

The fact that Jason was once again drawn to ho in the wake of her hurting Jake once again speaks volumes about ‘this’ Jason.

Jason needs to RUN from Liz whenever he sees her!! She is nothing but a lying, manipulative skank! At least SAM OWNED what she did in the past, Lizzie will never do that, just keeps making the same mistakes over and over again. Thinking it would be “THEIR TIME” and that she would have “HER CHANCE” with Jason, never gonna happen ho!

Tracy said it best when Monica told her Jason got his memory back ” and we care because ? ” All his reunion so far have been anti climatic.

Just watched the episode Genie looked great and it was very good dialogue of her recalling the rape but yet not regretting her two children and Jon Lindstrom what a pro who would have thought those two would have the chemistry. We needed to revisit this storyline from Laura’s view point keep her on our screen and you just might dig yourself out of that grave GH. You need her Jane Elliott superb the old pros are going to save the show. I truly hope do we really need another how to cook lasagna show?

A complete and total bust, boring, uninteresting……

I’m loving it! Just like I thought it should go! Now we just need to get him back with Sonny in the mob!

Absolutely loved it! ❤ ❤ ❤ it had everything it needed and more. Looking forward to more.

Yeah we some some action, that spy stuff from the cold war sucks!GH was a action soap and men wasn’t pussys and woman were strong! Its time to move on from that slap mess of Liz, people slap back these days and real fast!

What I love the most about this forum is that each writer chooses words to convey meaning without needing vulgarity.

I’m not loving the memory recall, mostly because the Quartermaine memories are not back. That added dynamic would make the character multi-layered and more fitting with his Jake persona. Hopefully that will come.

Too late! This drug on so long we just dont care anymore! Miller is a bore!

I agree–it could have been heart wrenching but it was dragged on for so long that it triggered not my heart strings, but my yawn strings (is that even a thing?)
Miller even looked bored with his own story.
Always loved Billy Miller but I think he was woefully miscast as Jason as there is nothing about him which suggests “Stone Cold.”
I am actually missing Steve Burton right now.

Harry, I’ve been saying that from the get go…. Missing Steve Burton
as Jason… I don’t feel Billy Miller truly connected with anyone as Jason,

Those two guys need to switch soaps! They were both powerhouses in their original roles!

and his story a snore….had he remembered he was Jason Q instead of Sonny’s ‘boyfriend’ than that might be different!!!

Yep!

Yeah Jim, THAT would have been the only acceptable TWO year wait reveal that was acceptable!

Jimh – YES YES YES! Where are the Quartermaine memories?!? Remembering he was a mob bitch is not ALL his memories – we were promised Jason gets ALL his memories back. It’s times like watching this BS when I wish ABC had kept OLTL and canceled GH!!!

Gasp!!!! Can we trade you Billy Miller for Jason Thompson again then?? Haha

Ash, I was so wrong about Jason Thompson. He is a very good actor but he sucks as Billy Abbott! I thought his different look wouldnt matter but it does and Jason is always talking so low! [Elvis like!]

Oh, Ashlee please NO! To me, Jason Thompson hits a few notes well, but is not really a versatile actor. He just isn’t terribly compassionate or likable, both of which Billy Miller and Steve Burton (among others) are. That was fine for the Patrick character, he wasn’t supposed to be as emotionally open. Maybe he should return to Patrick. But Billy Abbott has been ruined now, so I don’t even want BM saddled with that turnaround task. I guess I’m in a minority as one who accepts and adores Billy M. So I guess I’ll just hope the stories will move us past this dull stage.

Ashleigh, sorry for the name typo on the first post.

Agree Timmm..It is so not fun to watch that I fast forward, sad to say…Miller is good on the eye, but sorry to say he is so overrated in my opinion ..I still cannot believe he won multiple Emmys, just saying..I was hoping the new writers will speed up and end this story but it is still dragging on..I lost interest..These writers have to go!!

Omar, totally agree. He,as a person, is quirky. VERY private. BUT as an actor, I’ve seen him in primetime stuff and he was pretty good. I just think he is bored and the writing has been average at best! IF ABC wants to have a soap on the air, the two lady writers will be fired. It just didnt work out for them. I would hire Freddie Prince Jr. to write. [Dont laugh] He was on the creative staff at WWE for a year. They have always said, wrestling is a man’s soap opera! No, but you have to try something totally different and see if they strike gold?

Timmm, I wouldn’t have said it any differently.

Great minds Fanny!

You bet, my Timmmy…..Billy Miller has lost his charm in the role of Jason. And the reversal is true for Jason Thompson.
We must also remember that Billy Abbot slept with Sharon while she was married to Jack, if I remember correctly. So, this “borrowing my brother’s/ father’s wife and have a romp/roll in the hay” is not exactly virgin territory where the Abbots are concerned……and then some!!

Hey Celia, Billy Miller looks like a guy at an amusement park who runs the Ferris wheel in kiddie land. BORED TO TEARS! WHAT AM I DOING HERE?

It’s a bust. I have No interest in Jason, Sam, Carly and Sonny

If you have no interest in them then why watch or even comment. If it wasn’t for these four heavy hitters GH would be boring as heck. I personally like these four main characters. Could do without julian, ava, paul and liz. Love michael, morgan the davis girls, nina, maxie, griff, nathan epiphiny, monica, dr finn tracy, ned olivia dante and lulu laura and kevin., lucas and bobby and felix and sabrina, emma and robin, dianne max mac and felicia, dillon kiki. It takes all the others to keep it interesting.Paul, liz,ava julian can disappear. These 4 could go to jail where they belong.

Oh JB, I was about to respond your post but then I felt a huge wave an apathy wash over me and I feel asleep….like I do when your “four heavy hitters” continue to dominate the show.

Whe had none in Jiz but we were stuck for a damn year with that boring storyline and piss poor acting!

A bust. The scenes weren’t long enough and after two years, who cares? I was excited when Billy Milker joined the cast and they aren’t giving him anything juicy to do. This has been a total snooze and I’m really disappointed.

The lack of impact for Jason getting his memories back really has to do with the poor writing choices. I think the actors are perfectly capable of performing emotional material. But, they can’t fill a void. In Miller’s case, he’s just being asked to recite endless exposition. Look at what Nancy Lee Grahn did in her scenes w/Julian & Sonny. They had all the dialogue, she had very little, but her expressions said it all.

In Jason’s case, a guy flooded with memories from his past is being given very little opportunity to *show* how that affects him. Everyone else around him is emoting. But, he isn’t. He’s just talking up a storm. It’s a very strange choice by the head writers, and one that isn’t successful IMO.

YES, you’ve hit on a very valid point. As we saw with the roadside scenes earlier this week, Billy Miller doesn’t need reams of dialogue, his expressions are often spare (like Steve Burton) but very telling and effective. He just needs to allowed to bring in some of his own humor and quirkiness instead of having the weight of the world on him all the time.

A bust from him getting hit on his motorcycle all through his “I remember” tour. I didn’t feel anything. There was no payoff as a JasonFF. At one point during Tuesday’s episode, I decided to pay bills online & didn’t realize the episode had even ended. A complete letdown for this 25+ year fan.

Well analog is gone, and for 20 years you seen BH trying to act off and on!Her kids should be teens! They did motorcylce thing before just like they did Jiz before and a lot of other things bedfore!Well if you watched in 2015, and didn’t think it was boring than, maybe you should watch reruns of GH than!

It’s a bust and Billy Miller is basically just reading his lines while others are emotional.

This wasn’t a total bust! If you are a true Jason Morgan fan Sam fan Carly Fan Michael Monica and Sonny fan, you will love it!!! Everyone is wanting a Montage but we didn’t get! Move on. We got private scenes with Sam, the ILY’s the Monica scene him calling her mom. We got Carly scene and Michael. Sonny is today. It’s been a great GH for the last several months! I’m thrilled things are where they should be.

I’m not sure if you can lump together being a true fan of Jason, Sam, Carly, Michael, Monica, and Sonny (not sure if that was your intention either). I’m first and foremost a Monica fan. Sadly, she always gets the leftovers when it comes to her son Jason. I’m also a sometimes fan of Carly and to a lesser extent Sonny. I am NOT a fan of Carly/Sonny/Jason/Sam…IMO, that is the death knell of GH.

Oh you must be a Liz fan or LIASON fan. The mob is what brought in ratings Carly Sonny Jason and Sam are golden for ratings that’s where it’s at! Luke and Laura were friends with Sonny and Robin and Patrick GH has always been great until RC almost ruined it with the Liar Liz show!

Dear Jasammer,

I have been a faithful GH watcher since the late 70’s. Your Jasam is a blip on the radar of all things that are great (or not great) about GH. While I am a fan of Liz (I am not a fan of Liason), I am a greater fan of the continuity, history of the show, and veterans who really brought in ratings before the show became all about Sonny/Carly/Jason/Sam (you probably were too young to remember that).

Well stated Liam. I too am a long-time viewer. The Sonny/Carly/Jason/Sam fans have no clue about the stories and actors that saved the show from cancellation and gave it record-setting ratings. Imagine what could be done again if someone at the top would honor the shows history.

Liarson Fan much? When “Jake” was with Lying Lizzy he was the greatest! Now that he has a personality and getting his memories back it’s a bust? #GT_OH

I have been a viewer since the late 70’s myself! Jasam is sexy & exciting! Jake & Liz were a snooze fest! Times change,Soaps change! Why would anyone want the writing to parallel the 70’s???

Why would anyone want the writing to parallel the 70s? Can’t speak for others, but for me, it would be because the writing back then was actually compelling–and the kindest thing I can say about the writing over most (though perhaps not all) of the last 20 years is that it hasn’t been (and I’m beginning to think the current team is the worst situation during that time, with the exception of the bloody awful McTavish era)? Once upon a time, the soaps–including GH–knew how to tell a story, develop characters, maintain continuity, pace appropriately, and integrate multiple storylines so that a show felt like an integrated whole. Would I go back to that if I could? Oh hell yeah!

Those of you strictly in the Jason/Sam or Jason/Liz camps (I refuse to use the mashup names, because I find them idiotic) might do well to remember that not everyone is one or the other–and that applies to couples, period, not just these. For some of us, it’s much more important that the storylines keep our interest and (attention, Jean and Shelly) make sense. I can be a fan of either couple or even both if the writing is there. In this particular storyline mess (disaster), I have found Jason and Liz somewhat more compelling because Becky Herbst has done such a good job at bringing something interesting to (very) weak material. The whole thing hasn’t made a whole lot of sense, however, and fans of either couple, frankly, deserved a better re-entry story for Jason. But this whole thing has been such a muddled mess that I’m surprised either couple has a single fan left.

Oh Good Lord, Sarah and Jasmine, can we PLEASE not engage in that idiotic JASAM vs LIASON war?
Most of us here are kind of above that idiocy. Can we PLEASE express an opinion about Billy Miller as Jason without being accused of being a LIASON fan?
Honestly, do you folks ever hear yourselves?

A total bust, even bigger disappointment than the ‘reveal’ which had such a great build up but still felt weak. Taking so long to happen is just one of the problems. He doesn’t seem to recall that he chose not to help Alan, who he hadn’t called dad. Then calls Monica mom, also never done. And why of all 20 years would he remember a trip to Fla w/Carly & Michael. Seems the writers are being very selective about what he remembers, then having Others kind of put their spin on them so can avoid some painful truths. Trying to be patient and see where the writers go with this, but so far not impressed. They tend to make Jason shallow and with no insight into who he really was. And they need to get Liz in on the memory tour soon. She knew him and was important to him for most of that 20 years.

No Liz wasn’t a “huge” part of his 20 yr history. She was there in dribbs and drabs and usually full of drama and lies. It was only fitting she wasn’t included in his special episode. Seriously, the right people who always treated Jason like family were there. 🙂

Liz does not deserve to be on the memory tour. If it was up to her he would still be Jake Doe, she lied to him and kept him away from is family and not just one of his sons but both. She was going to let him be a step father to his known son.

The reveal built up sucked! It should have been Robin storyline not Liz!BM is doing a great job and I love the friendship with he and Sonny and the love he has for Sam and Michael!

Yes, Shannon. Wasn’t the scene where he hugged Michael like a son unbearably touching? I’m tired of people dumping on Billy just because the story may be sluggish or not what their unreasonably high expectations promised. To me, he’s one of daytime’s true originals, like Justin Deas, Tom Pelphrey, Michael Zaslow, Roger Howarth, and, yes, Anthony Geary.

Liz will never be loved by Jason the way he loves Sam.

Yes but he should still go see Liz and let her know. And have a scene with her where he remembers that she is a good person who does stupid and manipulative things to get what she wants but then regrets it. Like how she changed baby Danny’s DNA test results and then went to Jason the next day and confessed. He immediately forgave her. Maybe they can finally evolve Liz’s character and Jason can help with that. And age her kids appropriately!

I thought the scenes with Carly and Michael were touching but the other scenes were huge letdowns. BM is not a great actor when it comes to showing his emotions. He is trying too hard to play Jason like a robot. SB was great at showing his emotion with his eyes and still maintaining a tough exterior but BM does not have that skill.
His scene with Monica was awful, he didn’t even hug her. His scene with Sam was just boring. His scene with Sonny was flat, their hug at the end was so limp and emotionless. You don’t feel like he actually cares about these people. And they could have done some montages from Jason’s perspective. It would have added some emotion to the scenes.

Would the anti Lizzy fans take it some where else? Honestly, reading such posts reminds me of being back in middle school and I sense these posts are coming from middle aged women.
Lizzy is a gorgeous, ethereally beautiful woman who has been through hell and back. But guess what? I kind of like Sam too. And like it or not, Lizzy is an integral part of Jason’s past. They have a child together.
Honestly, I would rather Lizzy move on because she is too damn good for Jason.

Harry, its not up to you to censor people’s opinions. Its too bad for you that not everyone shares your exalted opinion of Liz. Or Sam or any other character for that matter. Telling people to take it somewhere else is just rude. People are expressing their opinions and of course they are not all going to agree with yours but everyone has a right to post. Don’t respond to a post if you don’t like the content. But do not tell people they cannot post their opinions just because you don’t like what they have to say.

A complete letdown! I had all this anticipation for THE moment. I was ready for flashbacks and emotions and tears and… something. What Jason and the audience got was a big fat NOTHING. I felt more emotions when Brad announced he got divorced off-screen. This was a big huge epic fail for GH.

The fail was Liason/Jiz!Always have been, its time they moved her on with someone else!

I was so looking forward and was so disappointed. Sadly a total bust, nothing more to say

It wasn’t as dramatic as I thought..

It’s an unmitigated disaster. We didn’t go through all this time for him to be the Borg again. He should have remembered his Q memories as well.

The writing on GH is completely in the toilet. I don’t understand how GH justifies Miller’s salary. He doesn’t emote. He’s sullen all the time and refuses to enunciate.I can’t make out half his dialogue.

Last week’s stand alone episode was laughable at best while Miller grunted & grit his teeth for an hour.

GH needs to clean house. The cast is too large and it’s slid back into Mob Central.

gosh darned it… the excitement was so palpable… the endorphins for can’t wait… must see….

a gala premiere ensued…. and flatline ZZZZZZ’s coma’itis…. forget about it… dullsville hit parade of much ado about OVER

Billy MIller can posture his stud muffind and give us that near puppy dog leap … that’s run its course

I KNOW – Jason will have that brain aneurisym… go “ballistic” grow a pair and take out Sonny…. YES

Yes, yes and yes and I don’t want him going back to being Sonny’s henchman and Carly’s purse holder which leaves him virtually with no life of his own.
I would like Jason to embrace his inner Quartermaine.

Yes, Harry, I would like that also. Seems Billy Miller ONLY comes alive with Leslie Charleson (Monica).

Sorry but it was truly a bust. There was no emotional connection at all. They had Jason remember, tell Sam and then go to sleep before they ever even talked about it?? Then Jason walks around recounting memories like he is reading them from a book? Messy.

I’m a JasonFF and I felt absolutely nothing for the return of Jason Morgan’s memories. Poorly written and executed. The scenes lacked heart and emotion. Where were the flashbacks? Where was the big emotional moment for Billy Miller to show off his acting chops? Where was the moment where Jason went to his biological sons to have a moment with each of them now that his memories of them were intact? The writers let JasonFFs down.

the thing that galled me and couldn’t believe

how many times have we heard… “Sam falling down the stairs”

this was Jason big recall of memory ????

Sam is thee deadest character on any and all serial… past and present

Billy Miller characterization of Jason… is near their…

I can’t believe the thread… that Jason acknowledged that special group

and today…. TODAY !!!! Maurice Benard Sonny get’s his own show

WOW how this production is

Jake wasn’t a part of Jasons life so there’s no special moments to recount and when he “died” danny was an infant! Lol what is there to hash over with them?

Than you should watch Y&R, he need you!BM is doing a excellent job and I love it.After 2015 and that sorry mess, I glad the writers woke up!Love the writing know!Love JaSam,CarSon,Finn,Michael, the new baby,Laura ,Hayden and Nic!All doing a great job and just maybe we can ctach B&B!

Honestly, there’s not much on GH that isn’t a bust these days. But specifically this story was so poorly executed from beginning to end. All of the reveals have lacked any kind of punch or emotional impact at all. This is another clear sign that the management of this show needs to be changed. One bad decision after another.

Total, absolute and complete bust

A bust. Everyone is having an emotional response to his memories returning except for Jason! Shouldn’t he be overwhelmed, overjoyed, overtaken by the return of his memories? Instead Billy is playing it without any sense of emotional investment at all, and everyone else around him is breaking down. I just want Jason to move on and decide what his next steps are. (But NOT the mob!)

A huge bust …It is pretty obvious that the writers don’t give 2 sh*** about Jasluts. They may be writing them together but they aren’t writing them any type of an emotional story which is what this should be. That was evidenced by the fact that Jason apparently slept before talking to Samho about his memories returning and remembered her in her peepshow outfit and falling down the stairs and him catching her. That screams romance and emotion. I get that most Jasam fans don’t care about the writing that they are all about their couple together but it is crappy writing with no depth or emotion at all. No wonder BM is not into any of this, looks bored and people are bashing his acting choices constantly. Based on spoilers, it seems they aren’t going to get any great writing because their story is going to be an adventure story where they look into who hurt Lucas. Not exactly meaty, emotional material.
they may get a few emotional words but they are not being written as a love story at all. His memories are of stripper outfits, conjugal visits, easy to be with, a As a Liz & Liz/Jason fan, I look back at the last 18 months and feel thankful. The Liz/Jason fans totally got the best out of this story. Seriously Liz & Jason may not be together & of course that stupid lie, but wow the actors BM&RH put out some great work & we believed it. They were special. jmo

Thank goodness for that because just as many fans are not so inclined to think the Jasam story has been a bust NOT everyone need the flashbacks to appreciate the memories he choose to elaborate on and some of us remember the fact that ORINGINAL Jason didn’t get all overly emotional like so many want him to the last time he had this happen so.. Miss me (with the reading lines crap). And as much as everyone hates (the mob crap!) it sustained gh and its ratings for many yrs cemented many of its characters back stories and shaped much is the landscapes u all LOVE to hate on w/o it u all would probably be crying like many of the OLTL fans are now.

Preach. Love or hate RC’s writing sometimes, but he did write an excellent pre-lie story for Elizabeth and Jake Doe.

Jason is supposed to be going to therapy since last November and he promised Elizabeth to figure out the book Helena gave little Jake.

yeah… your last para… is right on…. Billy Miller and Rebecca Herbst really DID bring “something” it was a burgeoning REAL love story….

have to share part of your last para:

“…Seriously Liz & Jason may not be together & of course that stupid lie, but wow the actors BM&RH put out some great work & we believed it. They were special ”

IT WAS MAGIC

i’m so glad Liz is not wasted on this story…. I still say… she needs to pack up “nulittle Jakes” things and dump him at Sam and Jason doorsteps… and adopt James Nigbor and move on with…. Franco

as adamant as I post… I truly just want for Frank Valentini to PLEASE use more of the superlative cast…

I am a die hard Jasam fan but I am a Jason fan first because the character has been on the longer than Sam. Of course there was no emotion because he had NO memory of his entire life. I do love they are together but without his memories they were still incomplete because deep down Sam wanted him to remember and he didn’t because he didn’t know what it meant. There was no on screen chemistry with Liz and Jason plus well it was believable to some because he was working with a clean slate and no baggage. Well with Jasam there was always an elephant in the room and that was his missing memories. IMO

Who the hell is SamHo??You mean LizHo?Liz the sidechick that no one wants!Or LMK,LMDB’s!Really do not know what you were watching but Jason cames to find Sam after the wreck! He loves Sam always have!Actually that fake s.l Liz did should have been Robin’s!I hope they will cabn Jiz because they have little support>Love Sabrina’s baby,Finn,Carson,Hayden(which they need to kept and get rid of Liz)Laura doing a really great job,JaSam and the Alexis/Juliam s/l.BM put out great work but not BH, and lets see how she and Franco work out!Jiz need to let it go!

Liz/Jake/Jason had the lowest ratings for 18 wks straight so that indicates great work hmmm a new one on me.The Jake Doe storyline was a bust from the start and if the reveal had happened last may as originally planned(and yes I know what I am saying and have the source to prove it) then Jason would have had his memories nov sweeps 2015 and a lot of bs could have been avoided.Certain writers are responsible for that and if you watch you know the names. There was never chemistry between BM/RH and if you say you saw it then recheck websters for the definition.

The 18 weeks of lows were in part due to Lake. Not because Lake were together on the screen, but they told us outright with the lie how it was going to end. Why would folks continue to turn in when they broadcast the outcome and it wasn’t what you wanted to watch? At the same time, they killed off Duke, had ho front and center making Patrick look like a fool (to the point where the actor left the show), turned Anna into a murderer, and Nik into an attempted murderer. This is what caused the poor ratings, not the fact that Liason was the story. To say otherwise is like saying that Patrick and Sabrina were working knowing that Robin was alive.

Look at the Michael Fairman article on the Jason finally got his memories. Jason fans (including those who don’t ship a Jason pairing) , GH fans, Liason fans all say the episode was a complete dud. Only Jatrip fans liked it.

When the show was all Jafail, Sonny & Carly, and the mob, ratings fell to the point where it was questionable that the show would stay on the air. Ron did bring it back from the brink. We’re headed there again. Jafail fans will always say that just because Lake were together, they were the reason the ratings were so bad. They will never see that ho hurting Jake multiple times is bad. She had a moment of weakness. She was just there figuring out that Jake was behind the broken window, etc. They don’t see her or the story as bad. There are many fans of the pairing who don’t like what they’ve seen on screen this time around. Those who are ecstatic over their reunion and this writing don’t care about content, only that they ‘win’. Any way these two are pair together to them is a win. They won’t see the correlation between the current decline in ratings as partially the fault of the reunion. It’s not the only reason the show is falling into a slump-it’s all the bad stories going on at the same time, just as in the past. We’ve got Sonny the ‘hero’. Sonny, Carly, Jason, ho all front and center, along with some mob stories written to make Sonny the hero. It’s tanking ratings again, along with the fail that is 1.6. I can talk till I’m blue in the face, and they won’t ever see it. Let them think what they want.

Awww, you’re just mad because he had no memory scenes with Liz, well he will, he will remember how she switched the DNA when he thought Danny was alive. How she lied and manipulated him when Sam and him weren’t together, the birthday party and other stuff, how she asked him not to claim Jake as his own so Lucky could raise him, yeah, all that is coming on top of the Jake Doe lies she told him, it will be great to see Jason finally put Miss Perfect Liz in her place and rip her to shreds for all of the pain she caused Sam and him!

You said MAD…I would have to care that Jason is with his ho..Pls Now that Jason KNOWS Danny is his kid HELL neither Samho or Jason are around him…Danny STEP MOM ALICE has the tree kid,. neither one are WORKING) Just BARN rolling sexing it up…NASTY SHIT….. Jason only show real emotion with Liz… With Samho it’s like he has to be her pillar all the time… Never the other way around… Soulmate share the load…. It’s like having a softer version of Carly 24/7… With a little less whining… Last if GH wants Jasam together as their “SC” (Which will never happen. Sorry the fans are just not on their side and fans is what that takes.) Shouldn’t they be able to stand as a couple without always having to make Liz (no one else but Liz) their fall guy. The only time that couple pulls that kind of passion from fans is when big bad Liz is trying to take Jason… Which by the way always is falling Liz around and mad at every guy that gets near Liz…. Beating them up and all but it is always Liz’s fault some how…

Personall , my take is the show has written it more like Jason is the boy that don’t want anyone playing with his toys even when he don’t want them… If this were real life… Most of us women would be saying dump that loser to both women… As it stands he the Hero of the show Liz is his girl Friday the one that he goes to when he needs a pillar of support, to clean up his messes, to save his butt and to take the fall. While Samho is the sexy lounge singer he can’t get enough of. He picks up her mess, dates, marries, but she always has some trouble he has to get her out of but it’s never her fault. AS for Liz she NEEDS to be OUT of Jason/Samho orbit lets see how long it takes that they draw her back into their mess…..

once again… every thing… between Sam and Jason… was Neatly bow tied AGAIN ! that following morning… they decided to let bygones be bygones… and said their I love yous hugged it out… and that was “ALL THAT”

OK … so stimulating… and HOT…..

Nut up much writers ?

so it’s on their memory back tour….

it’s going to reek expletive… IF… Liz is the only one in Jason life… scathed burned and left by the wayside

Liz nursed this man back to life…. they both fell in love…. these two things matter to fans .. of the show who wanted a real romance and love

then the “big lie” happened….

so yes… I have an ax to grind… and will be watching mindful of how Jason reacts to the mother of his oldest child….

he certainly cant’ blame her… for the car accident and amnesia

plus… everything up to that point… must have been OK with Steve Burton and Rebecca Herbst Liz… she knew Jason and Sam married and had a child… and Jason … for all intent and purpose wasnt’ holding a grudge against Liz… he didn’t even know Jake was his… and was happy and OK with Lucky being “lilJAKE” father

so… it’s that damned lie… ???? you’d think all of port Charles would just move on and be accepting that at the very minimum… they have Jason back and he’s alive

it’s juvenile and immature…. especially with Sam and Carly

talk about jealous… women ??? !!!!

Rebecca Herbst as Liz… is so beautiful…. plus RH ACTS volumes over The actors who portray Sam and Carly

Rebecca Herbst layers her character and imbues must watch and is an easy character to root for because of all her history….

she gives you heartache
she gives you love
she gives you family
she gives you so much chemistry with the whole cast.. she’s thee wow factor
shes a legacy character
she’s always present

WOW really??? Lizzard is always the one who tried making Jason into someone he was never meant to be. No white house and picket fencing for him. She never wanted him to be with Sonny or in the business, but she sure married Ric who she knew was crooked as sin!! She never wanted Jason to be true to himself or the life he was living. She wanted to change him, mold him into her perfect man!!! That is why she is ALONE and will always be ALONE because noone is ever good enough, for her lazy woe is me ass!! Liz and Jason will NEVER be the SC that Jasam are!! They were never a couple to begin with, I have no clue of what story you are watching, but keep drinking that kool aid!! Super chemistry between Jason and Sam, natural and relaxed, not forced like with that cold biotch LIZ!

PROP … to Kelly Monaco’ Sam….

my memory bank needs prodding… to recall a lot !

I just came to…. Sam did some acting… the baby died, switched at birth…

ala Franco or Todd… with the nuLOVE of my life.. Tea Delgado

that hurt

so… she was doing some REEL

Jason KNEW jake was his, she told him in the elevator when they were stuck during the Metro Court hostage scenes!! He’s the one who got Liz out of the way of bullets flying!!!! She also reiterated it at the hospital, after Jake was born, that he was Jason’s son!!!! BUT she also asked Jason to allow her and Lucky to raise the boy as their own because of his life!!! WOW how some folks would love to rewrite history and those of us who remember come along and shoot them down!!

Oh no–there goes the neighborhood–the JASAM fanatics have moved in.
I don’t have a dog in this fight but I will say the sad truth is that Miller and Monaco have zero chemistry together. He engages in this raspy rambling while she engages in this somnolent mumbling and the result is collective boredom washing over the fans.

I loved that Jason got his memory and finally he has been reunited with his family, & his loved ones. It was about time for Jason to get his memory back & reclaim his life again. Loved that he remembered his life with Sam and how much she & Danny meant to him.

I loved it. I felt that the memories of random, little events like the trip to Florida are to show that he remembers even small details that normally we would forget. It’s not about, say remembering his wedding to Sam, but remembering that she was wearing a corset during an evening at home b/c she had been working undercover on a PI case. Things like that show intimate knowledge that proves he’s coming back. And Carly’s reaction was wonderful and emotional. And to the poster who said he forgot that he choose not to help Alan, all Jason did was express his regret and shame that he didn’t come see him when he was dying, that he choose to stay away. And calling Monica, Mom, was his way of showing that he is going to make amends for not being a son to her for 20 years. Well done all around!

I don’t know what I was expecting but I wasn’t that happy with how it was written…Billy did his job but I guess I was hoping for something more dramatic..I was waiting for over a year for his memory to return, just didn’t know what would happen

I agree and I swear sometimes these people aren’t watching the same show!

Yes he had shame and regret when Alan died and now he was remembering back to that time and just wanted Monica to know he will work to be better son now because he is a father now he better understands the bond between a parent and their child. I love it! The “mom” reference threw me off but it was cool too. The scenes with all the important people were on point, I loved them all.

I am loving the long awaited reveal ! The scenes between Jason, and all those that are dearest to him have been poignant, and true to each of their character’s form. Carly – crying and finding a way to make it about her, Michael embracing the man who had such a huge influence on his life from day one, Sam, finally having the man who holds her heart remember sweet, intimate and family loving moments, and Monica finding out her son is really back – all terrific. These are all the people who should be in the first scenes with Jason, so I believe it was all handled well and true to character. I am watching the show now, looking forward to seeing Jason tell Sonny he remembers it all. Keep up the great work everyone involved in front of and behind the camera!

This story line has been going since 1995 when Jason first lost his memory. It twas not compelling then, and 21 years later this story line is just pathetic. Let Jason remember who he was at birth and move on!

I couldn’t agree more.

Yes! Let him finally be a Quartermaine.

TOTAL BUST….THE STORY DRAGGED ON WAY TOO LONG…….LOVE BILLY MILLER BUT AM SO DISAPPOINTED….

I just think Billy Miller is not really into the part–never has been, for me. Don’t know why.

Just choose a direction for Jason. I would favor a new Jason (no reference to actor Billy J. Miller) that is stronger and more assured. I prefer a break from the mob — the mob, ugh! — and to see a mob who wants to get things done, though challenged and maybe at times hindered by his past(s). Jason could be the fulcrum of a much-wanted resurrected Quartermaine component to the landscape. I would like to see some of the cheekiness Miller brought to his Billy on Y&R. Jason for too many years has been a difficult watch. Let’s change that.

I am glad Jason has regained his memory and although flashbacks would require using Steve Burton who is my favorite Jason Morgan I am glad there were no flashbacks it would make miss SB I like Billy Miller and he is an excellent choice for the recast I am just happy Jasam is back even NuJasam

I’m totally loving NuJasam! Steve Burton who?

Well, it’s only been a couple of days of scenes, but so far I’m disappointed. There was such a huge opportunity to do something different with the story of Jason’s return, and it seems to have been wasted. The mentioned memories that have been cherry-picked by the writers are puzzling choices. There doesn’t seem to be much depth to them. I’m hoping there’s a reason, like maybe this isn’t Jason at all, but a player in Helena’s last big game on Port Charles. (Not holding my breath for a great story like that, though.) I’m a huge Billy Miller fan, and am struggling to watch. He’s capable and deserving of so much more. Maybe as the story continues he’ll get it.

I have been a Jason Morgan fan since he drove his motorcycle through the Q living room. I also love Billy Miller and think he proven he is one of the best in daytime. That said, this whole story was not done from Jason POV and has had little to no emotional investment. Jason Morgan was more than leather jackets and relationships/experiences consisting of many people outside of the fab (rme) four. He wasn’t a violence junkie, sex driven, tunnel vision man. He was stoic at times but had deep relationships with a variety of people important to him including Elizabeth. Ignoring all his history for only a select group is a disservice to longtime fans and the character we’ve loved.

More than a bust this will bring cancellation. They used an uber popular character AGAIN as bait to again prop a failed pairing. Their last ‘reunion’ pulled the lowest ratings in GH history and they do it again? Really? Jasam is a bust. Stop trying to force them on the audience. When you have to trash another character who he once loved, that’s not a triangle, that’s agenda. People saw it and stopped watching . Now Jasams insta love and Jason’s ‘memories’ that don’t include the mother of his first child, who saved ilhis life more than once and his complete disregard for the kid is just stone cold who ratings proved the majority of viewers disliked, because when they kicked his ass into the harbor the ratings went UP. So the new regime comes in and repeats th SAME exact Jasam/Carson crap.

It’s like Frons is still running the show. People have tried to tell them that VIEWERS decide what pairings they like, not TIIC. The ratings will continue ue to plummet as they’ve showed over and over they course correct when it’s too late. I’m done watching due to backstage politics and ratings prove I’m not alone

The show is toast. Agendas suck.

As a huge Jason Morgan fan, I have to say I’m thrilled! Yes we should have had some montages but other than that I think it’s fabulous! I’m so happy with the show these days

Jason regaining his memory was fantastic I enjoyed it took along time but my favorite couple is finally back together and Jason has his memory back I absolutely love it all the peoples complaining I bet or Liz fans with more of the same complaining they do harassment to the writers & producers everyday and put out all kind of absurd petition 24/7 they are lying to you when they claim it a busts don’t neither one of you bitter people come at with I’m not a Elizabeth fan YOUR lying

it’s a total bust for me and I sure hope the show is not going back to the “fab four”

Absolutely heart wrenching! I loved every moment of the Jason regaining his memories. Everyone did a phenomenal job!

Jason’s reveal–
it came in as whimper and went out on a whimper (under J&S)
Bottom line; anticlimactic

(( In layman terms; it stunk, was a sleeper … A big lullaby ..

I give it – 2 thumbs down …………….. ZZZZzzzZZZzzzzzzzz

Hey, this is getting to be a habit; we agree again 🙂

I agree with Suoo all the time now too, Nancy. Frankly, it scares me

GH is finally getting good. I can’t wait for all the stories to unfold. I am glad jason got his memories back and re-connected to his best friend carly and his extended family. I am glad the nurses’s ball is coming up, . The only thing left I want to see is liz getting slapped by carly sam monica and for jason to remember all the evil she did in past and the latest and tear her a new a## hole. Then for paul to get found out, that election was rigged and the horrible mayor gets sent away to jail with ava julian paul liz and nik.. Then I will be happy that liz gets her comeuppance and pays for all she has done and nik too.

A bust. Not compelling drama. Now if he had recovered from this latest head trauma and started asking “Where’s Keisha?” that would have been some drama!

The whole show seems to be missing something. It has been very hit and miss for me lately. Billy Miller as Jason is a miss. And has nothing to do with the actor. I try not to be too critical but the continuity is almost non-existent. Dialogue is sometimes really weird. And characters all over the canvas are out of character more often than not.

These past few episodes with Jason remembering have been exciting, emotional, dramatic, thrilling and just plain fabulous!!! Billy Miller is doing an exemplary job as Jason Morgan and I am loving him in the role. His scenes with Kelly Monaco have been 3 tissue scenes for sure. And I loved his wonderful scenes with Laura Wright and Chad Duell. I have rewatched his scenes with Kelly over and over and they are beautiful and moving and passionate and emotional and I could watch them over and over and never get tired of them. His sizzling hot chemistry with Kelly vibrates through the television screen!!! Well done General Hospital!!!!!

total BUST – I swear…. it boggles the mind… how daft the head writers are… plus how dull Sam and Jason REEL

I couldn’t believe it… when he was speaking with Monica…. telling her… “I’ll be better … ”

huh? at what ???? every thing ?

the way Sam stares in to his eyes… argh! just no emotion splayed at all… WOAH

with Sonny and Carly…. i’m over this

you know… what makes Sonny SO BIG… his cajones are shined
he trots in to Alexis house… telling Alexis… what’s wrong with Julian and all “his crimes” must be paid

REALLY ? Sonny says all this… and his stud muffin with old dimples and swag.. with NEEDS Lips doesn’t he

GH Headwriters are guilty for tit for tat… Sonny is just NOT that interesting…

he’s with Anna at the hospital when she’s trying to get a confession out of Carlos
he berates Alexis for her allegiance to her husband… and wants Julian to pay

Sonny is all over the place… he’s brings nothing to the show

argh! I hope never to see any PR by Billy Miller or Kelly Monaco… it’s so bad

It was a bust when they Threw him back with Sam. It was a bust when they made his memory all about Jasam.
It was a but when they once again made his return about a couple. The only difference now then when he was with Liz is Liz and Jake had chemistry.

So emotional

A big old crater the size of Texas, bust.

They waited far to long and allowed a storyline that could have been darn good go bust!
Truly what is going on over there with stories lines.

“Stayed too long at the fair” a la that crazy Fluke/Luke thing that was numbminding–and oh so false.

As a long time Jason fan, I was very much looking forward to Jason’s memory returning & the emotional beats and impact. What a let down. This entire JM memory-tour has so far been a complete disappointment. Each time Jason delivered his “memory return” speech, I got nothing. Seriously it felt & looked like Jason was reciting from a lunch menu. The Jason/Michael hug was the ONLY time I saw a glint of emotion from BM and I’m a huge fan. What a bust GH!!

I am upset that people are bashing Billy Miller when it comes to this s/l. He is a three time Emmy Winner and is doing the best with what is written. I think if GH had included flash backs of his memories of being Jason Morgan then viewers would have been very happy. It’s not the same as just hearing about the memories. I don’t know what happened with videos of Steve Burton not being available but I would think GH would have copy rights of them. I hate the fan wars happening on Social Media and am shocked that people are bashing Actors because they are not happy with the writers.

He may well be a three-time Emmy winner–but he hasn’t shown (or been allowed to show) his acting chops as Jason on GH.

I’m lukewarm on this . eh.. 50/50.,, I want Jason to remember everything from when he was Jason Quartermaine up to date. It’s time that he and his memories were totally integrated.especially so that he would be able relate to himself and understand his true nature , pre accident and Sonny.
Jason Q was bright, articulate who at a young age had a calling to follow in his parents footsteps to become a skillful Doctor. He was very gifted and looked forward to his chosen profession and to discover through research new ways to save lives (as opposed to being a master assassin who coldly takes lives)- He’d started showing great promise. I believe he needs to remember how he was emotionally connected he was to his parents, extended family amd those he loved prior to his accident. If these writers would just allow for this to happen him, then Billy will have the meat that he needs to portray someone who can own and understand his conflicts etc. Sadly it seems that these writers don’t care to dig in and get deep about anything, which is extremely disappointing and disheartening.
One more thing, It really annoys me that the people who claim to love Jason so much i.e. Sam, Carly, Sonny. and Michael just want him back as Jason Morgan., with the exception of his Mother, Monica and perhaps Elizabeth. I was waiting for Jason to tell her about his recall and when he called her Monica and then Mom, I got a bit teary, but it wasn’t what I’d hoped for. It just plain lacked emotion from Billy and Leslie.

A big fat bust. Not a fan of BM in the role of Jason either.

Boring Boring Boring. Jean and Shelley are the worst head writers ever.

Great episode. Touching moments with Sam, Carly, Monica, Michael and Sonny. I love the family moments. Although I think the wait was to long we finally have great scenes of JM. Billy will do great as JM

I thought it was great! Very emotional.

It drew me back in. Waited a long time for him to remember. I wished it would have included some flashbacks. Waiting until he sees Danny and remembers the torture he went through when he thought Franco was the father — but now realizing that he is Danny’s father. I hope he also lets Liz know that he didn’t appreciate being kept from his family, And then remind her of the last convo he had with her before going to find Danny that he was not going to be with her (this scene happened before Sam found out Danny was alive,)
