James Patrick Stuart Returns This Fall to ‘General Hospital’ as Valentin Cassadine
With assorted big returns this fall slated for General Hospital, you can add fan favorite, James Patrick Stuart to be back reprising his role as Valentin Cassadine.
According to the GH fall preview from head writers, Elizabeth Korte and Chris Van Etten, Stuart who has played Valentin on and off since 2016 on the ABC daytime drama will be back in story in the next leg of the character’s journey along with his daughter with Lulu, Charlotte Cassadine.
The head scribes shared, “Charlotte returns to the canvas and assumes a pivotal role. She’s very useful to anyone who wants something from Valentin — and she knows it. She isn’t afraid to exploit her relationship with her father to get what she wants. She’ll draw closer to Danny (Asher Antonyzyn) and Rocco (Finn Carr) as we develop General Hospital’s next generation.”

“As for Valentin (James Patrick Stuart),” Elizabeth and Chris continued, “He casts a long shadow, even from his cell in Steinmauer. Revelations this fall will have him striking an unlikely alliance and making a run at freedom — and taking revenge on Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna).”

It was back in March of this year, that Valentin Cassadine was escorted to Steinmauer Prison to serve a life sentence sharing a heartfelt farewell to his daughter, Charlotte, and telling Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) that he was making arrangements for Charlotte’s future. This exit, which followed his former lover, Anna Devane’s (Finola Hughes) efforts to hold him accountable for his role in the Pikeman arms deal served as a major exit and comeuppance for the character.

Lulu & Dante had two embryos stolen. We know one of them (Rocco) ended up in Britt Westbourne. It makes 666% sense that Charlotte would be the other one.
That, plus she has exhibited traditional Cassadine traits. They just gave Dante a retcon kid, they’re not going to sale him with another.

Thinking that as well as Scarlett Fernandez reportedly no longer lives in CA. It’s a shame if she doesn’t return as she’s a fine young actress.

I assumed Val the Bastard would be back eventually. But if he’s still in Steinmauer prison (at least for the moment) that rules him out as the Boss of the new “Legion of Dumb”, who apparently has no restrictions on his travels. So we still have a case of “villain to be named later”.
And just coincidentally… I still haven’t been able to locate Victor Cassadine since he took a fishing trip up at the Lake of Fire in July.

This is the best GH news possible! Please showcase and keep JPS and Valentin. The fact that he is in prison and Brennan heads the local WSB makes no sense. Valentin could be very useful in the fight against “unnamed villain” as what he knows always seems endless. This is not to mention taking advantage of JPS’s scene stealing acting and chemistry with everyone, especially Anna.

I am elated that Valentin (Patrick)and Charlotte are returning; however, I am disappointed that Charlotte has been recast with someone else. Is there a reason for changing actresses? I didn’t want Emma to be recast. If possible, bring back the original Charlotte ( Scarlett) unless she doesn’t want to or can’t return. Bring back Scarlett!!
Scarlett moved with her family to Idaho. Not every adolescent actress follows it through to adulthood – no matter how good they may be.

Yes he needs to definitely reunite with Anna hello. They should redeem his character as an undercover double agent however knowing them they will ruin it all with some old plot. Sad there was so much potential there. Unless he is back for good I do not see this ending well.

GENERAL HOSPITAL Preview: Serena Sets Her Sights on Michael; Jason’s Emotional Exit from the Mob
This week on all-new episodes of General Hospital, new and old motivations come into play with dangerous consequences. According to the just released GH video spoilers video for the week of August 3-7, a bailiff calls out, “All rise!”
Now it’s Isaiah (Sawandi Wilson) vs. Curtis (Donnell Turner), as the surgeon is suing the owner of the Savoy for assault that ruined is ability to operate. At the end of the day, which of these men has enough evidence against the other? Portia (Brook Kerr) is by Isaiah’s side, while Jordan (Tanisha Harper) is with Curtis.
Next, Lucy (Lynn Herring) has a plan to get the controlling shares of Deception away from Michael (Rory Gibson). She wants her daughter, Serena (Kelly Kruger) to seduce Michael. She tells her, “Pick out your most seductive suit.” Soon, we see Serena in her bathing suit at the Metro Court face to face with Michael.
Later, there is a small baggie containing three blue pills. Nina (Cynthia Watros) ask Willow (Katelyn MacMullen), “What did you do?” We also see Michael asking the same thing of Jacinda (Paige Herschell). Leading into this week, viewers know that Willow doesn’t want the former escort anywhere near her children, Amelia and Wiley. Is this how she stops her, or is Jacinda up to old tricks and wants to frame Willow? Remember when Jacindsa drugged Drew (Cameron Mathison)? Stay tuned.
Finally, in the pick-up from last Friday’s cliffhanger, an emotional Jason (Steve Burton) continues to tell Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he cannot work for him anymore. Sonny ask, “So that’s it? You’re Out?” We fade to black.

Vincent Pastore of ‘Sopranos’ Fame and ‘General Hospital’s’ Maximus Giambetti Dies at 80
Vincent Pastore, best known for his memorable role as Salvatore “Big Pussy” Bonpensiero on HBO’s The Sopranos has passed away.
The veteran actor was found dead on August 1st in his home in the Bronx, New York. Pastore was 80-years-old. The cause of death is yet to be determined.
As well as his role on The Sopranos, many soap fans will recall he played multiple smaller roles on the beloved One Life to Live from 1995 and 2004. However, in 2008, he landed the short-term role as Maximus Giambetti on General Hospital.
PASTORE WANTED TO BE ON GENERAL HOSPITAL
Maximus was the mobster father of Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) bodyguards: Max (Derk Cheetwood) and Milo (Drew Cheetwood)
According to Soap Opera Digest, Pastore told Soaps In Depth back in 2009, after appearing in a SOAPnet promotional campaign as a celebrity fan of General Hospital: “‘I’d love to be on the show. So they called up GH’s casting director (Mark Teschner) and Bobby (Robert Guza Jr. ex-head writer, GH) and they wrote me in!”
Pastore was a huge General Hospital fan from way back, who at one point told producers that he would watch the ABC soap opera while working in bars and nightclubs in the 70s and 80s.
Throughout his decades long career, Pastore appeared in films including: Goodfellas, Carlito’s Way and Men of Respect, The Jerky Boys: The Movie and the 1996 HBO TV movie Gotti.
In TV, besides The Sopranos, Pastore’s credits included: Law & Order, The Practice, Son of the Beach, Queens Supreme, Hawaii Five-0, Wu-Tang: An American Saga, plus the miniseries The Last Don II. Most recently, Vincent was a series regular on Gravesend and guest starred on Yellowjackets.
Pastore is survived by his daughter, Renee, son-in-law and granddaughter.
