GH’s Katelyn MacMullen on Chad Duell’s Departure: “I Don’t Know If It’s Fully Hit Me Yet”
Katelyn MacMullen (Willow) is having an adjustment period, just like longtime General Hospital viewers, now that Chad Duell has left the building after the airing of the Tuesday, January 21st episode, and his character of Michael Corinthos has been sent to a clinic in Germany to recover from his third degree burns.
While the love story of Willow and Michael has certainly been blown to smithereens (for now), MacMullen looks fondly on her time working with her longtime co-star and is having a bit of withdrawals knowing she will not see him on set every day.
Speaking with Soap Opera Digest, Katelyn shared, “Honestly, maybe I’m in denial, because I still feel like he works here! I don’t know if it’s fully hit me yet, because it’s only been a few weeks at this point. I’m sure at some point, it is going to hit me. But I also think that’s because it might be more of a temporary situation.”

MacMullen is referring to the fact that Duell and GH’s executive producer, Frank Valentini, have let it be known that the door is open one day, if and when, Chad wants to return to the ABC daytime drama series. So, because of it, Katelyn shared, “I’m not letting my brain go to the place of, I’ll never see him in these halls again, you know what I mean? Like, I’m just feeling hopeful that we will see him again.”
In terms of what Willow’s life looks like post-Michael, Katelyn previewed, “Michael has pretty much been part of Willow’s journey from day one, or maybe week one. They were friends, and then they were husband and wife…. It leaves a lot of questions for me, like, ‘What would Willow’s life look like without Michael in the picture? How will that leave her feeling? What could that lead to?’ It’s certainly unknown territory.”

What we do know is that Willow fell for Drew Quartermaine (Cameron Mathison) and has been in the middle of legal battles for custody of her children, Wiley and Amelia. So, what will Willow do now? Will she eventually see the light and find out how duplicitous Drew can be, when learning he was having sex with her mother, Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) too? What will happen when she learns Sasha (Sofia Mattson) is pregnant with Michael’s child? Stay tuned.
So, do you ever see a time, if and when Chad Duell returns, that Willow and Michael would find their way back to one another? Are you in denial like Katelyn over Chad’s departure? Share your thoughts and hopes for what comes next via the comment section below.
Hope Chad has a good break & takes time to grieve the recent loss of his Dad. Would be great for the fans to have him return. He’s a great actor. Things will fall in place for him. Wish him well.
Well, you should have thought have that, little missy, before you decided to have sex with Michael’s uncle on the playroom floor!! Maybe you don’t understand the parameters of child play but it certainly doesn’t include that! I can only imagine the horror that Woody, Buzz and Mr Potato head had to endure after being captive audiences to your tawdry sex show! I’ve developed carpal tunnel syndrome from clutching my pearls after watching you and that game show host’s Sex- On-The-Playroom-Foor. Thanks a lot!
I’m not interested in the character of Willow. Should get rid of Willow at the same time as Michael.
I want Michael to come back and sock it to Drew tail sleeping with his newphew wife low down and dirty Willow should have tryed harder not to give in to her attraction too Drew I want Michael to get back with Sasha and have their family and Willow should drop Drew like a hot potato when she find the truth out he was sleeping with her and her Mother Nina at the same time and bring someone in New for Willow
Please people don’t get Kate mixed up with Willow it’s just a part she plays. She doesn’t write it.
I am hopeful that Chad will return .I’m a big fan of Chad (Micheal) but I completely understand that he needs personal time after the loss of his dad it’s sad to go through the loss of a parent is not an easy one and sometimes you just need to step back take break from life for your on mind to adjust to the loss . GOOD LUCK CHAD YOU WILL DEFINITELY BE IN ALL YOUR FANS ❤️. PRAYERS FOR YOUR FAMILY
MAY YOUR DAD RIP
it is hard to fathom GH without Michael/Chad hope he returns soon
Yes so sad for him not being there
Hard to imagine the show without him but so hopeful that he will get the necessary time he needs off and returns sooner rather then later
It is hard to see it as “Willow fell for Drew”. It’s more like some continuous random hook-up.
No love story played out at all… but Drew’s actions do reflect a true player serving his own sexual pleasures.. bedding both mother and daughter.
I hope that they will remain friends but I would love for him and Sasha to get together.
Willow should be paired with Cody to get over the hump of those crazy Quartermaines.

Vincent Pastore of ‘Sopranos’ Fame and ‘General Hospital’s’ Maximus Giambetti Dies at 80

Vincent Pastore, best known for his memorable role as Salvatore “Big Pussy” Bonpensiero on HBO’s The Sopranos has passed away.
The veteran actor was found dead on August 1st in his home in the Bronx, New York. Pastore was 80-years-old. The cause of death is yet to be determined.
As well as his role on The Sopranos, many soap fans will recall he played multiple smaller roles on the beloved One Life to Live from 1995 and 2004. However, in 2008, he landed the short-term role as Maximus Giambetti on General Hospital.

PASTORE WANTED TO BE ON GENERAL HOSPITAL
Maximus was the mobster father of Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) bodyguards: Max (Derk Cheetwood) and Milo (Drew Cheetwood)
According to Soap Opera Digest, Pastore told Soaps In Depth back in 2009, after appearing in a SOAPnet promotional campaign as a celebrity fan of General Hospital: “‘I’d love to be on the show. So they called up GH’s casting director (Mark Teschner) and Bobby (Robert Guza Jr. ex-head writer, GH) and they wrote me in!”
Pastore was a huge General Hospital fan from way back, who at one point told producers that he would watch the ABC soap opera while working in bars and nightclubs in the 70s and 80s.
Throughout his decades long career, Pastore appeared in films including: Goodfellas, Carlito’s Way and Men of Respect, The Jerky Boys: The Movie and the 1996 HBO TV movie Gotti.
In TV, besides The Sopranos, Pastore’s credits included: Law & Order, The Practice, Son of the Beach, Queens Supreme, Hawaii Five-0, Wu-Tang: An American Saga, plus the miniseries The Last Don II. Most recently, Vincent was a series regular on Gravesend and guest starred on Yellowjackets.
Pastore is survived by his daughter, Renee, son-in-law and granddaughter.
