Kirsten Storms Teases ‘General Hospital’ Return: “Maaaaybe You will be Seeing Me Back in Port Charles Soon”
General Hospital’s Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) has been in a longterm coma facility in Boston since August after she applied a tainted face cream and was poisoned thanks to Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota). And since Maxie has been in Boston, she has no idea that her husband, Nathan West (Ryan Paevey) is back from the dead (or whoever this is) and working back at the PCPD, while getting closer to her bff, Lulu Spencer (Alexa Having Bruening).
Now, Storms who shared several months back that she was taking a break from the ABC soap opera while she relocated herself to a new home in Nashville from Los Angeles with her daughter, Harper, has posted an update. It should be noted that Storms ex-husband, Brandon Barash (ex-Johnny, GH, ex-Jake/Stefan, DAYS) and Harper’s dad, also lives in Nashville.
It was back in October, Kirsten shared the other key reason she relocated across the country, which was she needed to undergo brain surgery. As many recall, the fan favorite actress had undergone a craniotomy to drain and remove noncancerous cysts on her brain in 2021. However, in January 2025, a new brain scan found an aneurysm on the right side of her brain. She was scheduled to undergo a coiling procedure this past October to prevent the aneurysm from bursting.

Now in an updated post on December 22 via her Instagram, Storms explained for the first time since then where she is at medically in a health update and addressed her future with General Hospital at the same time.
Storms expressed, “I’ve received a lot of social media support on this subject, so I want to give an update on my medical situation. My last appointment was with a new Neurosurgeon in St Louis. He told me that I am in the ‘gray zone’ for the aneurysm procedure. It’s not super small, but it’s not at the mandatory surgery size. Basically, I can keep monitoring it – or have the coiling done, BUT he told me I wasn’t in immediate/’OMG! it’s going to burst tomorrow!’ kind of danger. Obvi, great news. ♀️ Trying to see if I’m comfortable with the ‘wait and see if it gets worse’ plan. I do know that I am not eager to hop right on the operating table. (Plz refer to my post in 2021, following my craniotomy. The pic of the back of my head will *possibly* convey why this topic is a little difficult for me to openly discuss. And of course there was that surgery back in Jan this year ♀️). So, as I sit in this ‘gray zone,’ pondering my plan, I want you guys to know that I really do appreciate the messages and stories offered of your own experiences. I needed those….and I had no idea (weird how that works, right?).”

As she closed her post, Kirsten was reminded, “Super easy to be silly and have fun on these platforms, but getting deep about online rumors and my feelings about them? Hah….i’d rather switch to decaf coffee. (My psychologist would tell me that’s a clear example of ‘avoidance’.)”
She concluded her update with hint that a Maxie’s return may be sooner than we think! “Welp I’m out of jokes, so I’m gonna say HAPPY HOLIDAYS, and maaaaybe you will be seeing me back in Port Charles soon.” shared Storms.
So, would you love to see Kirsten back as Maxie as soon as possible to see just how the character will get her revenge on Sidwell and others, and if she will be the one person to figure out for certain that this guy who says he is her back-from-the-dead husband Nathan West, isn’t? Share your thoughts via the comment section.
Glad to hear from Kristen and hope she is back on air very soon.
Prayers for sweet Kirsten. What a trooper. I look forward to a Maxie return of any kind.
I hate this for her. I love this kid. So brave through so much. Really miss her on GH. Wishing for all the best regarding her health & hope to see Maxie back soon.
So glad all us fans heard from Maxie. I love her, such a sweetie. Glad she’s doing well. I would love to see her come back, as long as her Dr clears her. Miss you Maxie. God bless.

Leading into this week, viewers know that Willow doesn’t want the former escort anywhere near her children, Amelia and Wiley. Is this how she stops her, or is Jacinda up to old tricks and wants to frame Willow? Remember when Jacindsa drugged Drew (Cameron Mathison)? Stay tuned.

Vincent Pastore of ‘Sopranos’ Fame and ‘General Hospital’s’ Maximus Giambetti Dies at 80

Vincent Pastore, best known for his memorable role as Salvatore “Big Pussy” Bonpensiero on HBO’s The Sopranos has passed away.
The veteran actor was found dead on August 1st in his home in the Bronx, New York. Pastore was 80-years-old. The cause of death is yet to be determined.
As well as his role on The Sopranos, many soap fans will recall he played multiple smaller roles on the beloved One Life to Live from 1995 and 2004. However, in 2008, he landed the short-term role as Maximus Giambetti on General Hospital.

PASTORE WANTED TO BE ON GENERAL HOSPITAL
Maximus was the mobster father of Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) bodyguards: Max (Derk Cheetwood) and Milo (Drew Cheetwood)
According to Soap Opera Digest, Pastore told Soaps In Depth back in 2009, after appearing in a SOAPnet promotional campaign as a celebrity fan of General Hospital: “‘I’d love to be on the show. So they called up GH’s casting director (Mark Teschner) and Bobby (Robert Guza Jr. ex-head writer, GH) and they wrote me in!”
Pastore was a huge General Hospital fan from way back, who at one point told producers that he would watch the ABC soap opera while working in bars and nightclubs in the 70s and 80s.
Throughout his decades long career, Pastore appeared in films including: Goodfellas, Carlito’s Way and Men of Respect, The Jerky Boys: The Movie and the 1996 HBO TV movie Gotti.
In TV, besides The Sopranos, Pastore’s credits included: Law & Order, The Practice, Son of the Beach, Queens Supreme, Hawaii Five-0, Wu-Tang: An American Saga, plus the miniseries The Last Don II. Most recently, Vincent was a series regular on Gravesend and guest starred on Yellowjackets.
Pastore is survived by his daughter, Renee, son-in-law and granddaughter.
