GENERAL HOSPITAL: Laura, Spencer, and Lulu Try To Cope With Nikolas' Disappearance, Carly Learns Sonny Cut A Deal With Ava!

Courtesy/ABC
On Wednesday’s General Hospital, Laura (Genie Francis) is devastated about the disappearance of her son Nikolas (Tyler Christopher) and the ramifications of that, which include he could be dead. It was nice to see Genie Francis play the mama bear concerned for son and grandson. When Spencer (Nicolas Bechtel) arrives at Wyndemere, she has the difficult task of telling him what happened to his father. Spencer takes the news rather calmly, and wants to try to solve the mystery of where his dad could be, but he also acknowledges his dad could be dead. Hayden (Rebecca Budig) and Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) look on as they are all concerned of Spencer’s reaction. Laura believes he is in shock and denial. Spencer wants to go to see the police detectives and so Laura accompanies him.
Lulu (Emme Rylan) who has just told Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) she is ready to have another baby (since they still have the one frozen embryo left), while the two are discussing buying a house for the Falonceri family, receives a call from Laura, while Dante gets a call from the police station. They both learn the situation and developments of an MIA Nikolas.

Once alone at Wydemere, Elizabeth and Hayden have it out, with Liz telling Hayden she knows she murdered Nikolas and is trying to frame Jason. Hayden counters that Liz can’t get over Jason or Nikolas, as the two continue their bitchfight. Lulu and Dante come upon the scene and are told that Laura and Spencer are talking to the police so they should find them. When Spencer, Laura, Lulu and Dante return to Wyndemere, Spencer tells Hayden that if his father never comes back, she still has him, and then he hugs her.
Meanwhile at the PCPD, Jason (Billy Miller) and Sam (Kelly Monaco) arrives to be questioned by Jordan (Vinessa Antoine), but Diane (Carolyn Hennesy) shows up as Jason’s legal counsel. In the interrogation room, Jordan shows surveillance tape at Wyndemere of Nikolas coming home at 12:02am, followed by Jason at 12:28am, and then Sam arriving on the scene seven minutes later. Jordan believes Jason is the guilty party and had plenty of time to throw Nikolas through the window. She tells her prime suspect not to leave town because when the evidence turns up that points to him, he will be arrested. Alone, Jason tells Sam he’s leaving, after she confesses she’s worried he will face trial. Later, Elizabeth shows up at the police station with key information for Jordan about Hayden AKA Rachel and Nikolas.

Carly (Laura Wright) has learned from Bobbie that Lucas is in the hospital in stable condition, but has faced a harrowing situation. An upset Carly is heading to the hospital to find out more of what happened to Lucas, and more on his condition. As she decides to leave, Sonny (Maurice Benard) is about to tell him about the arrangement he made with Ava (Maura West) in regards to baby Avery, when unfortunately the doorbell interrupts him. Who should be there? Yup, a snarky Ava to pick-up her daughter. Carly is clearly shocked. Ava is rude to Carly and Sonny demands she apologize to his wife, or this is the last time she will take baby Avery out of his home. When Ava leaves with Avery, a very upset Carly asks Sonny why he went this route and let her take the baby. Sonny explains that he cut a deal with Ava, and a lot of that was influenced by what happened with Michael. Sonny explains: “We cut AJ out of Michael’s life for good. Then he was believed dead. Then he returned. Then he worked on Michael, made himself look like the victim, rewrote history, made us look like the bad guys, and him like a saint. Michael didn’t know any better, because Michael didn’t know AJ. He was vulnerable to his lies.” Sonny doesn’t want his daughter falling victim to Ava’s lies and thus turning on them, like Michael did. An emotional Carly says she knows Sonny is right. These scenes offered nicely played moments by Laura Wright.
Ava brings baby Avery to see Kiki (Hayley Erin) at the Metro Court, who has been hanging out with Dillon (Robert Palmer Watkins) while she was on a break from her shift. Kiki takes Avery into the kitchen to get something to eat, which gives Ava a moment to slyly thank Dillon for helping Kiki get over Morgan.
What do you think about Spencer’s reaction to his father’s disappearance and possible murder? Who do you think will turn out to be the culprit in Nikolas’ going through the window at Wyndemere? Will Dante and Lulu’s attempt at having a second child go south? What did you think of Sonny’s account of his past with Carly and AJ, and how it affected Michael, thus he doesn’t want the same fate for Avery? Are you digging Dillon and Kiki as a love match? Share your thoughts on some of these questions in the comment section below!
I’m sensing a different writing style here. Still you Michael Fairman?
No one has said Nicolas is dead, including Elizabeth, but it does make me wonder if Hayden DID hire someone to hurt Nicolas. Perfect alibi since she wasn’t there when it happened. If I thought Hayden really did still love Nicolas that thought was completely blown away by her non reaction to his, in her mind, possible demise. She shed a few tears and then went on her diamond hunt.
Spencer is in denial. He’ll break.
Cannot stand how Jason is never given the benefit of the doubt. Too frustrating. How is the fact that he jumped in and tried to find Nicolas not even brought up.
I mentioned just yestetday that Ava should have used the AJ/Michael situation and thrown that other “kidnapping” into Sonny’s face when he tried to repeat history with Ava/Avery. Yes, this time he’s the bio dad but he and Carly ate trying to keep yet another child from one of its parents and poison that child against her. I’ve really grown to detest Carly and Sonny. Ava apologize to Carly? Carly who broke into Ava’s apartment and is blackmailing her? Carly, who is trying to raise Ava’s daughter as her own? At thisv point I just want Ava to smack Carly down…
Right on! another believer ! right this way….. LOL
well not yet anyway….. as long as you say it’s the Sonny / Carly / Jason / Sam show
why wouldn’t it be… Hayden and Curtis who are setting this all up… who’s to say these two didn’t get to Windemere much earlier… and knew Jason and Sam were going to see Nicholas…
Curtis is the culpable one ! YES YES YES… i’m over Hayden… the writers can war of the roses all they want… the passion is not enough to keep us interested. this could be a game of the rich… if you will…. but trust me… any man… who is not getting one iota of respect and love ???? will play this ? ! ? ! I don’t think so… it’s so demeaning to a Cassadine… if he tells mommy … he’s in love with her… and is waiting for Hayden to fess up… and or they get so sick of these outlandish immature games to mindset…. because of need for money ? well who doesn’t.
if he were mine …. Yike. which is all I wanted for Hayden when she happened… now… I could care less… since the writers have ruined her character.. and are building a family around her… I say
what’s the point…. hopefully it’s to cart Hayden off the show… and take those big diamonds
that’s why I’ve said all along… HELENA !!!! how dare YOU ! not have a fortune squired away… this is your time to simply let the past be… and “reward” Laura for giving you a grandson and now a great grandson… ala Spence… and these three… NEED to and WILL carry on the Cassadine Fortune.
OMG ! Tyler Christopher… MUST RETURN ! ABC / Disney / GH would be quacked out to not realize TC LEADING Man Status ! he’s HOT !
argh! it’s tiring … but I must… The Sonny and Carly Show… is the pits of hellish and challenging my reason for watching Serial.
i’m using @Harry one word summation… to best describe Sonny and Carly.
TRAVESTY ! just wow… like you said @Rebecca… I was livid @Sonny… TELLING Carly to apologize to his wife. ???? after Sonny big posturing and delivery of his manned up scripture… he get this cutesy cuteys little “smile” and the camera fades…. I mean really… is this a joke.. “he who laughs last…”
Ava simply must get out from under Sonny and Carly…. WRITERS move Ava out from under these two… Maura West is being wasted !
4 things that come to mind , that are far more interesting
1. Dillon and Kiki… are they the bomb… both smiling from ear to tear and loving it
2. Sabrina Tracy Michael and “Eduardo”… they’ve established back together.
3. Brad and Lucas… I don’t see this going much further.. it’s still FUN to “see”
4. Dr. O is out and about and hamming up the hospital… and she’s easier to understand !
5. anything… Franco and Liz do… even apart! a must.
as I’ve posted before… Sonny part of the GH equation… and/or pie… is …like quicksand… and / or the house is slowly filling up with water…. i’m going to go under watching this dung? oy! Alexis and Julian… “I need you” puhlease!
I”M certain… fans of this show… ALL… have an endless list of the huge cast they’d like to see REEL – featured – marquee
it’s so easy to forget… since we Rarely get to see
Laura and Kevin
Anna
Mac and Felicia
plus
hey Patrick…love your passion! And you really zoom in on what other posters say; it’s nice..
I love Dillon and Kiki too; they light up the screen together! Perfectly matched. I was so afraid Robert Palmer Watkins wasn’t going to stay on with GH. So glad he did; I liked him from the beginning. He has a very easy-breezy, cute, sexy way about him. Calming to watch. No wonder Kiki feels relaxed with him…I feel relaxed watching him, 🙂
Carly and Sonny? They’re gorin’ down one way or another. Grrrrrrrrrrr!
Rebecca1, you are so right. That wannabe fashion plate in a badge Jordan just throws the book at Jason EVERY TIME, presumably so she can run off and kiss Andre and still make her mani-pedi appointment on time. And I thought Dante and Nathan were dim-witted!
So funny, Soaphound!
I actually like Vinessa Antoine, the actress. She played a really likeable role in a great Canadian show, Being Erica. Completely different than Jordan. But GH has really madeher one-dimensional. She had more personality and garnered more sympathy when she was undercover. Without Sean and TJ, her waning friendship with Anna, there’s nothing to like about her. No personality. They should give her a life ( it’s not going to be with Andre since he and Anna obviously have a thing for each other). But her constant aim at Jason is beyond annoying. Mani-pedi, lol….
Why does Hayden even think she has ANY rights to Spencer. If I am Laura and lulu I get guardianship NOW
Well, I watched today knowing Laura would be on. Honestly, I am down to watching GH 2 to 3 times a week.
Any scenes involving Laura and Lizzy are okay by me but the dialogue which transpired between Sonny and Carly today? One word–travesty.
Sonny says AJ came back after fifteen years of Sonny raising Michael and distorted and rewrote history in such a way as to make Michael hate Sonny and Carly.
Nope. AJ spoke the truth and in tearful confessionals, both Carly and Sonny validated that truth. AJ did NOT distort history.
Dear GH writers—it’s bad enough that the character of AJ was tarred and feathered again and again without vindication by both Carly and Sonny. The fact that this tarring and feathering continues to transpire long after his death just makes me feel so enraged that I want to scream into my pillow.
Please stop making me scream into my pillow as the goose feathers are starting to come out and my vacuum is not well adept at sucking up those feathers anymore than I am at sucking up to this fluffy drivel to which you are subjecting your viewers.
Thank you Harry!
Harry great turn of phrase in your last paragraph. Kudos on both the sentiments expressed and the way they were expressed!
Truth!!!! In so many ways this show is a disgrace. My “go to” characters are Laura, Liz, and Anna, but even they are often not enough to get me to watch this daily crap-fest.
Thank you, Melissa and you’re welcome Justin.
Tristan, yes–love Laura, Anna and Lizzy. I even like Carly when she is not with Mumbles.
I neglected to add that this travesty is compounded further by the fact that the person blasting AJ AFTER death is the one who murdered him after making his life a living hell.
AJ rewrote history and made Carly and Sonny look like the bad guys? Say whaaaaaat? They ARE the bad guys. Sonny killed AJ and Carly helped cover it up for Pete’s sake! It doesn’t get much worse than that.
I am so sick and tired of the whole hypocritical “Ava is a bad mother because she killed someone” shtick when Sonny did the same thing AND WAS CONVICTED. GH needs to quit bending over backwards to ignore Sonny’s crime — the viewers know what he did and pretending it didn’t happen isn’t going to change that.
It’s warped. Or, are we supposed to forget that Sonny killed AJ and Carly covered it up, like the way Michael seems to have forgotten.
@alan your so right ok Ava killed what is sonny body count or Jason They all have killed But Ava is the bad parent Maura west is one of the best of not he best daytime actress on tv she’s being handed these storylines saying sorry to Carly where is the old Ava the one that we all fell in love with the writers are killing her character but Maura West is just so good she’s making it work no matter the writing and I’m tire of seeing Carly she has to be involved in every single story why God?? Love Laura Wright but enough is enough… GH will be losing a viewer very soon
The whole Sonny and Carly story is sickening and disgusting and will be the reason GH gets cancelled sooner rather than later. They are the worst characters in the whole, worldwide history of soap operas. Laura Wright should save herself and quit GH
thank you ! and more…. (posts)
The Corinthos of GH ! mind numbing waste
GH ! for the love of all thing serial… refocus your energies…. Sonny and Carly… knowing they are Leading the show… are laughing … it’s obvious
I do not appreciate how Frank Valentini with these two are laying waste to this show
Patrick, I agree with you 100%! If the network does not intervene, I do not expect GH to survive another year under the utterly misguided “leadership” of FV.
so soon we will all learn that the empty envelope Helena left to Lulu represents her empty womb .. there is no second embryo .. Helena took it …
What a great analogy, DeDe!!!!!
thanks, Celia ..
YES; but, unfortunately, the viewers will have to suffer through more…”our one and only frozen embryo.” BORING.
Ava was wrong in asking Morgan to end their relationship. But guess what eventually he will be released and it will come out that Ava told Morgan to let her daughter go and when Kiki finds out she will be done with her mother meddling in her life for the last time.
Then when Sonny finds out what happen then Ava will also loose Avery. Gee loss both daughters at the same time . Then he change his mind about letting her live
Any day that Genie Francis is on changes the complexion of the screen. She is everything to the show and needs to be used so much more. She always amazes me with her ability to make you feel just what Laura is experiencing. She should give acting classes!
Oh, for shame, Carly!! Know your place!! And, Sonny? A word……You ARE the bad guys; as bad as Ava. One small, immense detail, though….she is Avery’s mother, not Carly
Dillon and kiki…i guess we will have to call them Diki?…lol
There you go again, Jimmy!! How witty are you? Still chuckling! Thanks for the laughs, my friend. I really need them.
Kiki and Dillon are such a bright light on the show. I can’t remember the last time I’ve enjoyed a new young couple this much. Can’t wait for their upcoming date.
Welcome back Spencer. Liked his scenes with Laura and Hayden.
Agreed. Kiki and Dillon are the first couple I’ve actively rooted for in a looooong time on GH. More of them please! These two actors have great romantic chemistry!
Love this couple, as well, Melissa. So fresh; so unfettered with their feeling and their words. I do hope this relationship blossoms..
I am astounded and flabbergasted that through regime after regime, the character of AJ is still being maligned and mistreated, even in death!! MEMO TO SONNY: You are the bad guy!! You hung a defenseless man on a meat hook and forced him to sign away his rights to his own child so YOU could kidnap the child!! You murdered this man in cold blood because you hated him!! You have not shown one ounce of remorse over it, only that you got caught.
I don’t know where the writers, who have changed several times since the glorification of Sonny started happening, get this throughline from that AJ was a terrible person and Sonny has a heart of gold. AJ’s biggest crime was being an alcoholic, which he sought help for and tried to turn his life around. This much hypocrisy is truly disgusting to watch, because AJ has had to pay and pay and pay for Sonny’s violent, narcissistic outrageous criminal behaviour, and Sonny has never had to pay!! Watching scenes where Carly and Sonny try to make themselves sound like heroes and victims are indeed vomit inducing!! Seriously…isn’t TWENTY years of the same crap enough?!?
SING IT DYLAN!!!!
Thank goodness, we DO get to see Laura :)–where is Bobbie when her son is at death’s door? 🙁
Even though he agreed to visitation, Sonny still did it in such a way that he still seems like he’s a d#$k. He took the time basically to speak ill of the dead, and say all this nasty stuff about someone he murdered wrongly, yet they still take the time to talk about A.J. like he was a dog. That kind of stuff still makes me dislike Sonny, and puts him in an even more negative light, even if it was meant to do the total opposite. They try to hard to make him look like a hero when he has way too much blood on his hands, way more than his enemies, A.J, Ava, and even Julian to my knowledge have killed less than Sonny to my knowledge, yet Sonny’s body count is probably rivaling say, Franco, unless they are revising his serial tendencies, characters like Helena or Jerry Jacks. Now what does that tell you when Sonny has killed that many people and encourages supposed friends like Jason and Shawn to go down doing his dirty work? Then they try to say, ‘wait!’ Most of those killings are justified, he had to, blah blah blah, but if someone kills someone he likes they are evil personified. I hope we find out one day that Avery is Morgan’s child, which makes sense because Morgan wasn’t ready for that at the time. I know Sonny or Carly with their scheming, hypocritical a$$es aren’t above having a paternity test changed. I can even see Carly convincing her own brother to do it with her own twisted logic. Arrgh, that couple really heats me up.
More boring frozen embryo talk? Please. Just. Stop.
Yeah. With Lulu and Dante it’s “Shampoo. Rinse. Repeat.”
Zero chemistry and so boring.
I luke Dante. Cute, sexy, down to earth. He and Lulu are like backdrop supporting players. But I buy them as a couple.
I dont trust the lizard…lol…ok, im not talking about Nina but did you notice her eyes?…she could be a lizard!!!…lol
A HORRIBLE episode!
Laura wasnt overly concerned about Nicholas. I thought her scenes were lazy!
Spencer was a bit of a smart ass!
Who cares about the DOG and Lulu! I wouldnt have another kid with that cheater!
Hayden is right, Liz cannot handle losing Nick and Jason!
Jordan sucks as head of the PCPD! I knew nothing would come of the interrogation. Waste of viewers time!
Carly and Sonny live in a world where either of them are in touch with reality! Avery would be best with TRACY! Sonny and Ava suck as parents! Tracy should open a foster home for “Thug Babies!”
ROARING – LOL
“…Tracy should open a foster home for “Thug Babies!” ”
OK… LOL
whew! I can laugh after taking all this drama
Patrick, we either laugh or cry!
I think she knows he faked his own death/Laura very disappointed but I am that way about all the shows just not the same you watch you tubes of old shows and you just cringe at the writing and the acting! Very sad
I think Laura is beyond herself over Nicolas, but she has to stay strong for Spencer. We saw the stricken look in her eyes, she too refused to think he could be dead…and then Spencer walked in. I’ve no doubt Laura is sufficiently worried. However Bobby, Carly and Sam could use a few grief scenes regarding Lucas. He could die and Sam barely blinked an eye before she ran off with Jason. I understand she wants to clear Jason’s name but she certainly didn’t seem torn about Lucas as she left. Carly took the time to discuss Ava and the baby before she got her butt out the door, then stopped to hear Dr. O’s theory…not even entering Lucas’s room. Only Brad and Julian had heartfelt realistic reactions. Despair doesn’t seem to be a soap’s strong point…
I agree, Timmm. Why wasn’t Laura frantic about Nikolas as she was about Lucky whe he was in peril? Golly gee….I would be climbing the walls!!!!
Everything you said…..I won’t repeat it…LOL.
Maybe she is as bored with the storyline as everybody else is so this crapfest they are shelling out is going to keep them on the air?????
k/kay said what I was thinking. Genie is probably so sick of all the promises and then waiting around, very little use and not being seen for days, what a bust and thats nothing against the legendary Laura!
On Dante and Lulu-I said before, why on Earth do we have to listen to these repeated scenes on the stupid frozen embryo? My God, are those two boring or what? They have zero chemistry. & we are supposed to buy that Lulu and Valerie would do a skit together at the Nurse’s Ball, c’mon?!
Yeah, go ahead and scorn a women by ANOTHER women, forget it, they NEVER forget!
On Jordan: Are interrogations supposed to be done in an open forum with the other suspects witnessing what each person is saying? How lazy and stupid!
And then the dimwit goes to Spoon Island and TELLS the SUSPECT, Hayden that the FBI has landed and are on their way! She is so dumb!
There is much to roll my eyes over here but I am happy the writers on GH seem to be tightening the family bonds. My hope is that by this time next year, we have weeded out the extra characters and stories, and have a solid bible of long-term stories featuring proven favorites and newbies with genuine potential. I’d like to see a little goodness, a little romance, a little less sci fi and crazy. Port Charles has been too dark for too long.
The character of AJ Quartermaine has been decimated time and time again. It’s sad, AJ is from a historic, key family and I think the writing team let a good opportunity pass them by, with Sean Kanan’s return a few years ago. (Granted, I could never stand Billy Warlock and think his portrayal of AJ was just awful). Sonny and Carly’s talk over Avery’s custody and the history (rewrite) of when Michael was a baby, etc., just bugged me. Although, I love any scene with Baby Avery!
Also, Jason and Sam are just so boring. They have zero chemistry in my opinion. Sam’s monotone is even worse while speaking with Jason, if that’s even possible…
Hayden, UGH. Boring.
I am loving Alexis and Julian, though. Nancy Lee Grahn is doing an amazing job and I can’t help but still love Alexis and Julian together. In my opinion, they have “super couple” written all over them.
Ava loves Kiki and I really understood where she was coming from. It broke my heart for Morgan…he”s such a lost soul at times. And I know how much he and kiki love each other. Yet at the same time he’s the son of Ava’s mortal enemies, his bipolar episodes are something whomever he winds up with will have to go through with him, he’s unpredictable and Kiki was almost killed trying to save him. Ava wanted Kiki to have a chance at a healthier love. I get that…though I’m sure vwhen the truth comes out it will cause emotional havoc all around.
once again my post landed off the thread…lol…this was a reply to Brenda Garces
Well , well. For YEEAARRS I was an AJ fan over the scum twins. Now finally everyone sees the mobsters for what they are. Where does Sonny think he has the right to decide if Ava sees her daughters. She has custody. someone needs to put a bullet in the head of Paul. I don’t even like Ava, but I am certainly rooting for her over Carly. Go home carly and take care of the daughter you almost got Jax killed for. I
Someone said Billy Warlock was not a good AJ. I found him to be the best. he could act rings around MB mumbles, and his AJ never gave up trying to get his son. Maybe Laura is acting the things these so called writers are giving her. I did watch kevin and laura, The rest of the show no thanks. Sonny will win, I will be full of rage, and want to kick myself for even bothering. Family shows what a stupid joke. Wonder how far will they go to dumb down and degrade Jax to prop up Sonny.Go Liz give it to hayden, but don’t help Jason. soon he will be telling you how to raise Jake, the boy he gave to Lucky to raise.

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).
Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.
Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON
Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”
Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).
Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.
“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?
During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.
Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.
You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason Reconnects with Danny; Tristan Roberts Arrives in Port Charles, Lots of Nods to #16

General Hospital’s 16,000th episode was packed with little reminders through points in today’s script that the ABC daytime drama series has set another milestone and it paved the way for the return of fan favorite and newly nominated Daytime Emmy Lead Actor nominee Steve Burton (Jason Morgan). The 16,000th episode also introduced viewers to the new surgeon in Port Charles Dr. Tristan Roberts played by Dean Geyer.
Here are the key takeaways and what went down on the July 13 episode: Tristan and Jason are seated next to each other on a plane heading to Port Charles. Throughout the flight, a beaten up Jason has flashbacks to being thrown into, and being held captive in a cell and tortured. It appears Jason is suffering from some form of PTSD from what he was put through after being dragged out of Port Charles by the WSB months ago.
As the plane prepares to land, Tristan tells Jason there would be a car waiting for him once they land and to enjoy the rest of his life. Later, Tristan arrives at the nurses and doctors hub at GH and approaches Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst). He tells her his name and that he is the new surgeon on staff.

A REUNION PLUS A HEAD NURSE DEFENDS SONNY
Meanwhile, at the end of the episode, Jason is outside the Quartermaine boathouse looking bewildered when he runs into Danny (Asher Antonyzyn), who is so thrilled to see his father, and the two hugs each other as tears are shed.
Elsewhere, Elizabeth tells Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he thinks its a great idea for him to get the 16th seat on the hospital board, but when it comes times to convince Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) of that, things go awry when Tracy, Laura and Sonny try to work things out. After Tracy launches into Sonny about killing Alan and Monica’s son AJ, Sonny walks away dejected.
Next, Sonny runs into Elizabeth, where he informs her what happened with Tracy. So what’s a head nurse to do? Elizabeth marches into the conference room and reminds Tracy of all the different donations and ways Sonny has contributed to the hospital from the Stone Cates AIDS wing, to the Michael Corinthos Center for Pediatric Head Injuries as well as his constant support each year for the GH Nurses’ Ball.

WSB WAR SCARS
Then, in one of the best parts for longtime fans of the series, Elizabeth talks about her legendary grandparents, Audrey and Steve Hardy and she tells Tracy they would have wanted Sonny to have a seat on the board for all the good that he has done for the hospital. After Elizabeth states Sonny’s case, things took a turn and Tracy and Sonny wound up shaking hands as Sonny is board member #16.
In the how great was it to see Anna (Finola Hughes) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) together scenes department, the pick-up of last Friday’s cliffhanger is played out as the two former lovers fill each other in on what has gone down in their lives in the last several months including Valentin admitting he had been living in Carly’s attic, and Anna realizing she was kidnapped by Cullum, Sidwell and Cassius Faison. During their conversation, Anna sees the hallucination of Peter August (Wes Ramsey) right while Valentin is standing there.

Later Anna was on her way to saying goodbye to Valentin, when the two share an emotional hug. After Valentin made his exit, Peter reappeared and warned Anna to not let Valentin distract her because she has important work to do. Anna answers, “I know.”
So, what did you think of General Hospital’s 16,000 episode? What do you think is wrong with Jason? What is the important “work” that Anna has to do? Were you glad to see Sonny get a seat on the hospital board, or not so much. Weigh-in via the comment section. But first, check out the scenes on Jason and Tristan’s long flight to Port Charles.
