On Monday’s episode of General Hospital, Patrick (Jason Thompson) finally reached his verdict! Would he forge a future with Sabrina (Teresa Castillo)? Or, would he return to his wife, Robin (Kimberly McCullough)?
When the dust settled for now, because this is after all a soap opera, Patrick chose to be with Robin. And with that, we have to hand it to all three of the acting principals in this story who brought raw emotion and plenty of tears with them in this romantic tale filled with angst and heartache.
The episode began with Patrick going to tell Sabrina he has made his decision, and he is going back to Robin. And honestly, whether you are a fan on Team Patina or Team Scrubs, the scenes between Jason Thompson and Teresa Castillo were very moving. Sabrina knowing she lost Patrick by the look in his eyes, then giving back her rings, and telling him she understood and would have to accept his choice, put an end to their relationship.
Next, Patrick heads home to see Robin. When he arrives, he tells Robin he is right where he wants to be, and that he is sorry it took him so long to figure this out (thanks with an assist from Sam!). An overwhelmed Robin who has fought so hard to be back with the man she loves after two years of captivity (in which Patrick still does not know all the deets!) is flooded with tears. Seeing Jason Thompson and Kimberly McCullough in that moment together was a long time coming and well worth the wait for enduring fans of one of the most popular couples in soaps. McCullough was exquisite, and so was Thompson! Kudos to Kimberly, Teresa, and Jason for these key scenes yesterday!

Please don’t let it be Sabrina being pregnant. I read someone that Felix indicates Sabrina’s sickness is more than illness. Please don’t do it again, we just went through that with Britt. HELLO WRITERS.

If there is a “pregnancy” it should be an “hysterical” one….would fit right in with Sobby’s over-the-top performance. Of course, it could also be a fatal disease…..please?
Well, it should be the end of this ill conceived storyline which was force fed down viewers’ throats. Patrick and Sabrina never ignited sparks, and frankly, he acted constipated around her. Something about Sparkles which just sucked the life out of this once spirited, slightly arrogant guy. I am not just saying this because I am a fan of the Patrick/Robin coupling. When Patrick speaks to other women, Lizzy or Sam, the life is not sucked out him as it is with Sabrina. Sparkle Pony is the Great Castrating Pagan Goddess.
disagree…like Sabrina very much! good soul, good to Emma…good FOR Patrick…and I like how she’s evolved from the little wallflower/teen-type to a more confident woman.
as many have said none of this is her or anybody’s fault…and whether those who keep repeating that she KNEW Patrick still loved his wife…well, why wouldn’t he???!!!!
But, she believed his wife was dead…and she never tried to be a replacement…she was patient, loving, understanding.
I like her. Kudos to the actress who very poignantly displayed a broken heart. Gracious/in-character as she’s always been.
I agree with rebecca1, I like Sabrina too! I was heartbroken that he chose Robin instead of her. The scenes were both really emotional. Teresa Castillo is really a great actress! i do hope that it turns out she is pregnant with Patrick’s baby. Since this is a soap, nothing is final and no one is really happy in their marriages!
I am glad Patrick choose Robin! Sabrina is nice in all but she isn’t Robin.. Robin longed for her family for 2 years and thinking about them all the time..Which kept Robin going.. Robin belongs with Patrick & Emma who is really happy she has her mother back.. Sabrina will go with Carlos or someone new..

I’m hearing the “Pregnancy” alot!!!! How do you know? Also since this is a “Soap Opera”, i agree with Marcia. “Nothing Is Final And There Is No One In Port Charles That Is Happy In Their Marriages”.
Nothing really is final until it airs, but IF there going with the Sabrina is pregnant story i will not be watching. I really hope that they do not go with the pregnancy storyline we just went through one with Britt please not another one. I’m so sick of it already, but then again its a soap opera so until it airs there all just rumors. Let robin, patrick, and emma live happily for awhile before throwing in a another setback. PLEASE….
I’m betting he’s not legally married to robin anymore… he was clear to marry sabrina
so either they’ll go thru another wedding with robin… if their relationship stands up to it (and if Kimberly is staying on for a while) or an annulment with sabrina
and hopefully the only pregnancy to be reveiled is the one that Britch went thru with the stolen embryo.
I am just waiting because I know Scrubs fans will get screwed over again for their pet Sabrina. I expect another bait and switch just like the NB became all about Cinderbrina. They have made Robin a shrew so Sabrina once again looks like the poor poor pitiful saintly victim. Sick of it.
I still say getting Patrick to the point where he chose Robin was not true to the character, the Scrubs love story or the Sabrina story. The whole Sabrina/Patrick thing was barely written before, OMG,,,Marry Me and OMG, my True Love’s back but I can’t decide!! I mean Leyla and Patrick had more story than Patrick and Sabrina…that says a lot!!! Oy Ve
I hope it’s over because Scrubs are one couple where you can truly say there is no one else for them but each other, that’s his wife, his soulmate standing there now Welcome Home Patrick, shut the door, lock it and go upstairs and show your wife a good time.

I loved that Patrick went home to Robin, and that two minute scene was perfect. Granted I am a Patrick and Robin and I love them so much and I can’t wait for what is next in their life together. I love it. And I can’t wait to see what happens next adn I know after all of this coming back from the dead, even death can’t separate them.
Love it. Kimberly and Jason were fantastic, their scenes were real. they felt real to me!
Patrick and Robin reuniting was a holiday gift to their many fans but i have a sneaky suspicion that the new year will bring them no happy ending…but why a repeat today…Days is airing a new episode?
every other soap aired new eppy’s today – if gh wanted to air a repeat it should have been a classic holiday eppy……………..

Scratch that, there was no choice involved. There wasn’t a decision to be made. He knew what he wanted all along but was too scared of breaking the delicate flower’s hear he put it off. It’s just about time he listened to his heart screaming out at him.
Not to mention most of the viewing population, Jules!!!! But at long last, thank you, God!….sweet relief!!!! Christmas came early for the majority of us…..of course, “Cartini” will probably have an unquenchable desire to rain on our sorely-awaited bliss parade! That being said, wasn’t Sobby’s little snitfit just toooo precious to behold…oh the humanity!!!! I was really enjoying her poorly acted painfest until Car-LOS! so rudely interrupted the self-imposed pity party…..oh well, another day, another drama…..Merry Christmas to all just the same!!!!!

I was actually happy with how they wrote it. She bowed out gracefully; she didn’t even try. Clean break, and gone. At long last I can look forward to a tomorrow episode and not worry if she’ll be in Patrick’s orbit that day. She literally serves no more purpose for me on this show. A non-entity, like pretty much the rest of the characters on the show.
I’ll be glad when I don’t have to see another headline or article or commentary piece with the names “Patrick” and “Sabrina” in them again. Sweet relief indeed!

Have you been reading any of our anti-Sappy posts? For many months we have quite succinctly expressed our myriad and perfectly reasonable explanations for loathing this character and her storyline. If you cannot fathom them after all that has been written, you never will. (And for the umpteenth time, Robin “love” seldom entered the equation for many of us….we simply could NOT abide “Sabrina” as a stand alone role….period. End of discussion!) P.S. Not being rude, just exasperated that even now many simply do not get the point!
I love Sabrina. She is a fun, has a heart of gold, and does not have a mean bone in her body. Sabrina’s only “sin” is she fell in love with a man and his child. She lovingly took Emma under her wing. She loved and protected her as her own. Sabrina is a lady and deserves respect.
Wait, Saint Robin? That’s just it–Robin was never presented to us as a perfect one dimensional Disney cartoon the way Sparkles has been. Robin is deeply flawed and conflicted–that is what makes her interesting and what ignited the sparks between Robin and Patrick. Robin challenged Patrick to be a better man while Sparkles just hero worshiped him from the start before she even knew him. She is a throwback to the 50’s–an thoroughly submissive, uninteresting door mat of a person.

Having Patrick choose Sabrina would have been the wrong move for many reasons.
But I too don’t understanding the Sabrina loathing. I like, and think the show needs, what she represents–a kind, more innocent presence. Her acting was great in the goodbye to Patrick scenes. Very true to her character–hoping against hope she could still be with Patrick but knowing that his first love would have to be the choice. Not every character needs to be hyper complex. You have to have light and good to balance out all the dark and evil, and in the midst of shoot outs on Christmas week and constant killing, Sabrina is welcome and shouldn’t be demeaned.
Please give Sabrina another love interest! But, as we all know, it is a soap!
Robin and Patrick are doomed, no doubt of that..

Sabrina accepted his love for robin but Robin will never accept Patrick’s love for Sabrina..

Patrick choose Robin his soul mate . His wife & the other of his child… Sabrina is nice in all but I couldn’t see her with Patrick for good.. For Sabrina it was ready-made family. Robin it is her family, her husband, and her child…I don’t think he feels obligated…. He loves Robin more…. They have been threw a lot and have much more history together.. Sorry, I don’t agree..
I agree I think he’s really in love with Sabrina, however felt obligated to go back to Robin because she was held captive for two years and because of Emma.
Now, what if Sabrina is really pregnant with Patrick’s child which I think she is, that will probably put a damper on Robin and Patricks’ relationship, Robin will not like that at all.
There is a good chance Carlos is the daddy…a drunken Sabrina ended up in bed with him.

Totally agree, Sabrina is one classy lady and I hope to high hell she pregnant with Patrick’s child. Patrick Saud to Sabrina “I have to go back to Robin, she I’d the mother of my child”…ha…let’s see what he says when he has two baby mamas!!! I can’t wait to wipe that smile of Robin’s smug face! Sabrina accepted her with grace and she is so petty and beneath Sabrina that she can’t do the same? Robin doesnt deserve Patrick!
Robin belongs with Her Husband and Her child…. Not with Miss Goody Two Shoes….I don’t think Robin is smug at all..I always liked Robin from day one when she first came on GH.. And I still like Robin…Sabrina doesn’t have much history on GH like Robin does which started on GH at the age of seven yrs. old……I really didn’t care for Sabrina from day one.. Sabrina will survive and slowly but surly get over it and meet someone else and start her own family with someone else……
I too have been watching Robin since was 7 and she was a great kid and even a great teenager and her AIDS storyline was heartbreaking. I have always liked her character and I loved her with Patrick, but,I am tired of the emotional investment we make as an audience only to have Kim M leave at a whim. If she wants to come and go then fine, but I don’t like investing myself emotionally only to have the storyline pulled apart. That is my main gripe. And since I am sure she will leave again, I prefer Patrick move on now and nithave to go through the agony he went through last time 🙁

Jason T and Kimberly M did awesome in their scenes. The scenes between Patrick and Sabrina, I felt nothing no sadness for Sabrina. She irritates the hell out of me. After having to endure her for this past year, I am glad he dumped her. He knew where his heart belongs. He went looking for Robin the day his weddinng, he hesitated his I do. Throughout their whole relationship, he wanted ghost Robin and all of sudden RObin is right infront of him, he has this sudden love for Sabrina. If RC wanted us to actally believe Patrick was in love with Sabrina, he should have written it that way sooner. I do not see what Sabrinna pregant will do, how much babies and kids RC actually kept. He killed off Tea baby, Starr daughter. Had Danny kidnapped.
Jessica I disagree with you Patrick and Sabrina rocked those scenes. Robin /Kimberly can’t act her way out of a paper bag.. Sabrina is far better for Patrick than Robin ever will be. And Rc did write it that way becasue he knew Patrick Loves Sabrina.Patrick wouldn’t had to think about going back to Robin if he didn’t love Sabrina.
Rc should have made Patrick fall in love with Sabrina sooner not the day of his wedding. KMC is a great actress if not she would not be on soaps for over 20 years. She had three successful pairings, Stone, Jason and Patrick.

Just watched the wedding rerun and that long, tortured hesitation Patrick took before saying “I do” spoke volumes….along with “Sobby” nervously holding her breath, then letting out that monumental sigh of relief when he actually said it….THAT told the whole story right there! (Not to mention the good doctor’s subsequent stunned, yet gleeful reaction to his wife’s return….) This entire contrived (and poorly acted) story served no useful purpose other than to allow the Drake family to reunite once and for all. And getting there was sheer torture for most of us…if “Cartini” thought that the fanbase was furious at how long it took to achieve that goal the first time, just imagine the outrage if they try to throw a further monkeywrench into it with some ridiculous machination like a pregnancy or illness. The best thing they can do for the show now is to bid Senorita Santiago adios pronto! She has way past worn out her welcome!
Patrick will miss Sabrina, give him a week with the Gremlin before he goes looking for his girl……

I agree. Some people point out how mean Robin was to Patrick but Robin stood up for herself toward Patrick. When they were married he slept with Lisa. No one talks about that. I am glad he went back to Robin but I want Robin to dump her him. Let him go back to Sabrina. If Sabrina has something to do with the Mob Patrick make think about it twice going back to Sabrina. I can’t believe some think this is the end of Patrina. Their SL is just starting. Don’t you guys look at the future taping lists at all? Patrina are still taping together. Even when the actors come back after the New Year break, Patrick and Sabrina are taping together with no Robin. I personally found the Scrubs reunion very dry, not my cup of tea. I think Patrick only went back to Robin for Emma.I know he loves Robin but they soon will find out they don’t click anymore. Well in my opinion Scrubs never did click never liked them together. I hope Patrick wakes up and realizes he made a big mistake and fights like hell to win Sabrina back. Team Sabrina/Patrina all the way
Sabrina and Patrick broke my heart. I adore them together, but I am not stupid enough to believe that he wouldn’t go back to Robin. I’m of the opinion that he has to get back the life he lost to realize he no longer wants it. Sabrina always knew she couldn’t compete with Robin’s ghost, but I believe she has a fighting chance against the very-much-alive Robin. Patrick isn’t the same person he was 2 years ago and that is going to affect that relationship going forward. Sabrina will do the classy thing (even if she is pregnant) and give him space and start to move on. The question then will be whether Patrick will allow her to… Me thinks not…

I have a soft spot for Kimberly M because I’ve watched her grow up on the show since her very first appearance the wee Robin. Though I think she was brilliant as a child actress, I don’t think her acting prowess grew that much into adulthood and she’s kind of predictable. However, in my opinion I think Robin and Patrick belong together, because if it weren’t for what Patrick and Robin went through together as a couple, Patrick might not have evolved from the Ego maniacal, sex machine, though brilliant surgeon, into a caring. loving, faithful spouse, wonderful Dad , man (brilliant surgeon) It was Robin who brought him to his knees. Anyone who watched their wedding will never forget their vows to one another and the obvious soul-mate love that got to grow and mature into a true partnership. But I guess anything can happen since the Luke and Laura (soaps very first super couple) who launched the super couples trend for all of soapdom broke up and appear to have moved on. I have always thought of the Sabrina character as the “ugly Betty” that she was cast as. I don’t personally have anything against Theresa C, but have never cared much for her on the show up until her last several scenes in which her heart gets broken and I could actually connect with her emotions. Her skills have improved but I don’t see her with Patrick, but with Carlos. Personally,I think Rebecca H or Kristen S would have made a better choice for Jason P for life after Kimberly M- they ‘ve always had great chemistry with him. (Kelly Monaco does to for that matter) But we know that Kim will be leaving GH to pursue her directing career so I’m not counting on a happily ever-after for Patrick and Robin either. Just my thoughts. Happy New Year everyone.

Not surprising that he picked Robin, but I’m very fond of the Sabrina character. Patrick doesn’t seem to have chemistry with Sabrina or Robin.
Well, he used to have chemistry with Robin. I catch your drift, though. Since Robin died and Britt, Sparkles and Felix started manipulating him, the light went out of Patrick’s eyes. He always seems confused, in a state of inertia, and frankly, constipated. Patrick used to be so fun to watch, but since Snow White and her dutiful dwarf took over, he acts like he had a lobotomy or something. I just wish Robin had told him to go F himself, took Emma to Paris and started a relationship with some delicious French man.
Sabrina had this school girl crush on Patrick. Because Sabrina knew that Patrick was still in love with his presumed dead wife, she used the Nurses Ball (a tribute to Robin -Aids fund raiser) to get Patrick’s attention. She baby sat Emma all the time and talk about Robin with her. She knew this walking in. In my opinion, there is no way that Patrick would choose her over the love of his life – Robin.
This is def not over………Patrick may have went home to Robin, but just like when Taylor returned from the dead on BOLD, Ridge went back to her but eventually came back to Brooke!!! They’re just pacifying the Robin fans, bc I bet u anything Sabrina is going to be pregnant. Patrick had fully mourned and moved on in proper time(especially by soap standards), and he clearly loved(s) Sabrina, so in my opinion, robin you should lose……I have never cared for her know it all character anyways. I never forgave her for revealing the paternity of Michael or Spencer!! Now that she’s back, I hope Carly gives her a beatdown before the actress decides to leave again, bc she def is going to!!!
I breathed a huge sigh of relief when Patrick chose Robin! I feel bad for Sabrina no doubt but there is NO comparison between the two women, Robin and Patrick are soul mates! That being said something about the Robin Storyline is bugging me, I want answers as to why she was shown being given electric shock therapy and how that fact figured into the agenda in holding her captive. They better address that or I’m going to be pissed off. Did I miss something? Am I alone in wondering about it? They need to at least mention it.

YAY IM SO HAPPY THAT PATRICK PICKED ROBIN!! There honestly like a real married couple they are so perfect! You know what the writers made me kinda mad about? All the sudden Patrick had a hard time choosing between his wife robin and Sabrina? Patrick was NEVER over Robin. Patrick always felt that she was still there and every time he tried to tell someone they would just pressure and force Patrick to let go and move on with Sabrina. Patrick went looking for robin in the lab on his own wedding day! Suit and everything! Don’t get me wrong Sabrina is a nice girl, but she is NOT meant for Patrick. She is to young and childish, I think her and carlos have a better shot anyway. Anyways, all the sudden he had a difficult time choosing? C’mon, we know Patrick never loved Sabrina, he cared for her a lot cause she helped him through everything! But we know Patrick loves robin && robin loves Patrick! He looks at her like she is the only girl in the world and kisses her so sweet & robin looks at him like he is her hero and kisses him like no body’s watching ! Haha!
All you people voting for Sabrina must have just of started watching the show because Patricks and Robins chemistry is like they are married in real life. Sabrina’s and Patrick were nothing , it was trash compared to robins & Patricks chemistry. Like I know it’s a soap but they have to do some things that you would do like in real life. My dad’s mom and my moms mom introduce me to this show & wanna know what caught my attention and kept me watching ? Robin and Patrick. There love is unstoppable and adorable. I honestly think if they break robin and Patrick up GH is gonna lose ALLLOOT of viewers.

PATRICK & ROBIN FOREVER
Ugh. This whole thing is so formulaic. He goes back to Robin, Sabrina is pregnant. Don’t writers have any unique storylines left? It’s like there are a few formulas and they just pull from those over and over. To those who said no one stays happy in marriages anyway, that’s true, which means even if he goes back to Sabrina, there will likely eventually be another breakup there too. When Kim M. leaves the show, I would just rather they ultimately put Pattick with someone who is interesting, maybe a little bit bad. He and Sabrina are just way too boring together and she really seems way too young for him. Even though she’s out of her Ugly Betty phase, she seems like someone in her very early 20s, where Patrick is in his mid-thirties. I find them extremely mismatched. She’s just a Patrick worshipper – no depth to the relationship at all. Gross.
Sometimes a baby do not change a man for another women. I may just because Patrick wants another child. I looks like Robin do not want one. Robin is so stuck on Emma being her baby girl. That may be a reason why Patrick will leave her and go to Sabrina. But I believe he loves Robin more than Sabrina. Patrick was just moving on with his life. Patrick is a lady’s men anyway. he cheated on Robin. If Patrick and Sabrina get together he may cheat on her too. Never know.
I believe Patrick will go back to Sabrina. He appeared lackluster in his scenes with Robin because he is remembering his moments with Sabrina. Many of us are glad he’s back with Robin and many of us are sad Sabrina was not chosen. But, in the world of soaps, it’s not over. I will stay tuned. And, in the midst of the drama, I believe Emma will be okay because she now has her mother with or without Patrick. Sabrina would a positive addition to her world when Patrick goes back to her.
I like Patrick and Robin but I have to agree the scenes with Robin and Patrick were a bit dry and boring. I am not sure the actors have chemistry anymore.
I am just happy Patrick isn’t with Sabrina. Boring and never, ever, ever believable! I love Carlos and Sabrina. I believe Carlos loves her. Carlos’ passion spills all over Sabrina. Sabrina is a woman when she is with Carlos, not a love-sick teen as she is with Patrick. I hope Sabrina’s character becomes multi-dimensional, perhaps a bit gray now that Patrick is gone.
its’ the other way around Robin is boring and Carlos is ok I believe he is truly in love with Sabrina, and so is Patrick weather he knows it or not and weather he feels obligated to Robin and if he does, how long will that little song and dance last
I find it amazing that the Sabrina / Patrick supporters gloss right over the fact that Sabrina FALLS right back to Carlos when she’s hurt…and IF she HATED Carlos as much as she says..then why does she turn back to him every time? Her bestie, Felix..of course is no where to be found…Sabrina has more stuff hidden in her closet then she lets on.

Teressa is pregnant in real life so the writers are writting it in. Anyway she not going to tell patrick so everybody can chill and stop with all the hate sabrina mess. Plus I don’t know why everybody is happy that patrick picked robin because it’s not going to last and their scenes don’t have the same spark like before. Kimberly is leaving in a year to shoot a movie and even if that movie somehow don’t go in production she will leave eventually. I give kimberly 2 years at most.

I’ve read a lot of comments and all you people are happy about one or the other. In my opinion I think every bodies going to be disappointed. Couples no matter the ones we love. I’m a complete Patrick and robin fan too but no matter who ever he goes with Sabrina or robin or back and forth or what people are saying like Sabrina’s going to end up with him. Okay so Sabrina could end up with him but I hate to burst your bubble but there gonna get hurt too. I was a huge Elizabeth/lucky fan, nickolas/Emily, Sam/ Jason, Eli/spinellie fans too that we’re couples that I saw the sparks was all excited about but guess what they are all gone. They don’t exist anymore and it will happen to I feel like both robin and Sabrina no matter how much time is given. I don’t see the same connection with Kim and Jason but I do give her credit and leniency because she hasn’t been constantly doing scenes with Jason in awhile so it’s like working out the kinks. I like Sabrina I do. I don’t hate her she’s nice and sweet that’s great but for me nice and sweet doesn’t cut it. She needs a backbone and I do see the difference in age/ life stage and chemistry that just doesn’t do it for me with Patrick. They are sweet but not that awe inspiring. It’s more of a fairy tale than realistic. I love robin and I love her story. She is who made Patrick who he is and she has a fighting spirit. She’s not a girly girly girl. She feels normal. I don’t like the baby stuff and the writers are predictable. I feel like they just need to bring in a lot of new actors because so much of the old cast is gone or going to leave someday. I don’t know it’s just not as thrilling to watch like the old days. Anyways no offense to Sabrina and the actor who plays her she just needs somebody who brings out a fighting spirit and I feel is closer in life and has more chemistry. I am going to enjoy Patrick (Jason) and robin(Kim) while they last. I also don’t get why everyone blames Kim. You do know the writers like I believe asked her to come back also. I mean get over it. Anyways that’s my opinion. Nothing against anyone else!

53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Nominations Announced: ‘The Young and the Restless’ Tops With 18, ‘Beyond the Gates’ With 16
The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) today announced the full list of nominees for the upcoming 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards, and it was CBS daytime’s The Young and the Restless and broadcast television newest soap opera, Beyond the Gates that racked up the most nominations with 18 and 16, respectively.
The full reveal on Tuesday follows the announcement of several major categories including Lead Actor and Actress on Monday via Extra and Entertainment Tonight and The View today revealing Daytime Drama Series and more.
The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmys ceremony is set to take place on Friday, October 30 at the historic Hollywood Palladium in Hollywood, California.

In a statement, Adam Sharp, President and CEO of NATAS expressed, “We’re proud to honor the extraordinary talent and creative teams whose work continues to define and elevate daytime television, As the Daytime landscape evolves and new forms of storytelling emerge, we remain committed to recognizing the innovation happening across the industry.”
“Each year, the Daytime Emmy Awards celebrate the creativity, passion, and dedication that drive this vibrant community of storytellers,” said Rachel Schwartz, Head of the Daytime Emmy Awards. “Congratulations to this year’s nominees, whose work continues to entertain, inspire and connect with audiences every day. We look forward to celebrating their remarkable achievements in Hollywood this October.”
The Daytime Emmy Awards have recognized outstanding achievement in television programming and crafts since 1974, honoring work in a variety of genres, including daytime dramas, talk series, entertainment news, culinary, adventure, instructional and legal/courtroom programming.
This year’s Lifetime Achievement Honoree, Gold & Silver Circle Inductees, and ceremony host will be announced at a later date.

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’
The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).
Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.
Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”
Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).
Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.
“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?
During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.
Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason Reconnects with Danny; Tristan Roberts Arrives in Port Charles, Lots of Nods to #16
General Hospital’s 16,000th episode was packed with little reminders through points in today’s script that the ABC daytime drama series has set another milestone and it paved the way for the return of fan favorite and newly nominated Daytime Emmy Lead Actor nominee Steve Burton (Jason Morgan). The 16,000th episode also introduced viewers to the new surgeon in Port Charles Dr. Tristan Roberts played by Dean Geyer.
Here are the key takeaways and what went down on the July 13 episode: Tristan and Jason are seated next to each other on a plane heading to Port Charles. Throughout the flight, a beaten up Jason has flashbacks to being thrown into, and being held captive in a cell and tortured. It appears Jason is suffering from some form of PTSD from what he was put through after being dragged out of Port Charles by the WSB months ago.
As the plane prepares to land, Tristan tells Jason there would be a car waiting for him once they land and to enjoy the rest of his life. Later, Tristan arrives at the nurses and doctors hub at GH and approaches Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst). He tells her his name and that he is the new surgeon on staff.

A REUNION PLUS A HEAD NURSE DEFENDS SONNY
Meanwhile, at the end of the episode, Jason is outside the Quartermaine boathouse looking bewildered when he runs into Danny (Asher Antonyzyn), who is so thrilled to see his father, and the two hugs each other as tears are shed.
Elsewhere, Elizabeth tells Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he thinks its a great idea for him to get the 16th seat on the hospital board, but when it comes times to convince Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) of that, things go awry when Tracy, Laura and Sonny try to work things out. After Tracy launches into Sonny about killing Alan and Monica’s son AJ, Sonny walks away dejected.
Next, Sonny runs into Elizabeth, where he informs her what happened with Tracy. So what’s a head nurse to do? Elizabeth marches into the conference room and reminds Tracy of all the different donations and ways Sonny has contributed to the hospital from the Stone Cates AIDS wing, to the Michael Corinthos Center for Pediatric Head Injuries as well as his constant support each year for the GH Nurses’ Ball.

Then, in one of the best parts for longtime fans of the series, Elizabeth talks about her legendary grandparents, Audrey and Steve Hardy and she tells Tracy they would have wanted Sonny to have a seat on the board for all the good that he has done for the hospital. After Elizabeth states Sonny’s case, things took a turn and Tracy and Sonny wound up shaking hands as Sonny is board member #16.
In the how great was it to see Anna (Finola Hughes) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) together scenes department, the pick-up of last Friday’s cliffhanger is played out as the two former lovers fill each other in on what has gone down in their lives in the last several months including Valentin admitting he had been living in Carly’s attic, and Anna realizing she was kidnapped by Cullum, Sidwell and Cassius Faison. During their conversation, Anna sees the hallucination of Peter August (Wes Ramsey) right while Valentin is standing there.

Later Anna was on her way to saying goodbye to Valentin, when the two share an emotional hug. After Valentin made his exit, Peter reappeared and warned Anna to not let Valentin distract her because she has important work to do. Anna answers, “I know.”
