GENERAL HOSPITAL Preview: Is Drew About to Be Saved from the Clutches of Willow?
This week on all-new episodes of General Hospital, it appears Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) is in for a double shock in the newly released video teaser from the ABC soap opera.
First, she sees first-hand, her ex Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) in the flesh. Previously, Nina was on the receiving end of Jack Brennan’s (Chris McKenna) blackmail to get intel on where the fugitive is from his daughter, Charlotte (Bluesy Burke). What will she do now that he realizes he’s in Port Charles?
Then, from the “sounds of it” in the voice-over, Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) confesses to her mother, Nina that “Drew didn’t have a stroke.” A stunned Nina gasps, as the unable-to-speak-and-move Drew (Cameron Mathison) looks on. But how much did Willow truly tell her mother? The whole truth and nothing but the truth? Or, is it all a part of her deceitful plan to keep her children by any means possible?

Britt (Kelly Thiebaud) visits Cullum (Andrew Hawkes) in the hospital and he angrily demands to know who shot him the back, because he knows Jason didn’t pull the trigger. Will Britt go so far to figure it out and learn it was Rocco (Finn Carr), the child she gave birth to, and then be faced with a dilemma of her life vs. his?
Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) also gets some news! Ric (Rick Heart) tells her that Danny (Asher Antonzyzn) wants to be a mobster, which does not sit to well with her, and that’s an understatement. At the very end of the video preview, Lulu (Alexa Havins) is on the docks with a man’s back to her. She pipes up, “Do I know you?” Betting odds: she will run right into her half-brother Evan Lovett when Nathan Dean makes his highly-anticipated return this Friday.

Tracy goes into crisis mode. Josslyn does some digging. Ava impresses Sidwell. Dante has a tip for Laura. Curtis supports Jordan.
THURSDAY, APRIL 16
Carly is shaken. Britt suffers a setback. Josslyn is suspicious. Lucas stands his ground. Sidwell is given food for thought.
FRIDAY, APRIL 17
Ethan Lovett returns! Kristina is caught off-guard. Willow confronts Jacinda. Nina receives an intriguing offer. Laura proposes an alliance.

This soap opera contains far too much violence. I am over the mob aspect of General Hospital. It’s high-time things shifted back to being focused on the core families and the hospital itself.
I have to agree with you Scott. I was fed up with the mob in 2005. That’s why I stopped watching after having watched since day 1. I only came back a couple of years ago. I think they need to focus more on the hospital staff and their lives. Of course, they’ll have to get some staff first. Elizabeth is the only main character nurse. It takes many more than that to run a hospital.
If it were me, I’d be focusing on returning the Hardy and Ward families, both of whom have ties to the hospital and its history, so that alone would be a solid turning point story-wise. Additionally, returning the Hardys would also give Elizabeth some more familial foundation. Plus, with the return of the Wards, that would also tie in to the Quartermaines’. It writes itself, and it is silly that such a storyline has yet to be done.
They seem to be fine with disappearing the Hardys from existence altogether. Liz is still calling herself “Baldwin”, for Hell’s sake. She was barely married to Frodd for a few months, and even calling HIM a Baldwin was a joke which totally went against the actual history of what was shown on screen back in the 80s (Yes, Scotty & Heather were together for a while, but the only kid ever in their orbit was baby Jason, for a brief time after Susan was murdered, but before Alan took him home to the Q mansion. They never had a baby of their own)
As far as we know, Audrey Hardy is still out there somewhere, presumably well into her 90s at this point. But with Liz’s sons all out of town, there’s no longer a need for them to be spending time at offscreen grandma’s house, so Audrey’s name isn’t even brought up in passing anymore. Liz hasn’t even mentioned the Webber part of her family since that odd and thankfully brief Jeff recast from a year or two ago. (with Star Trek’s Tasha Yar as her mother??)
As far as either a Hardy or Ward resurgence, I think they messed the perfect opportunity to do one or the other with the Isaiah character. It would have been easy to make him either the REAL “TJ” (Thomas Hardy Jr) or a member of the Ward family. Instead of giving him a last name which may or may not be tied to characters from some other show, which is the LAST thing GH needs any more of.
Bob Guza must be ghostwriting for the show.
No way. Guza always knew how to write a proper story and not drag it on forever – like this whole Drew/Willow fiasco. Or the Sidwell “Legion of Dumb” thing. Even the awful “Balkan” story – which ended Guza’s run at GH – didn’t go on and on forever.

I agree. It’s also not fun to continue watching minors being either being caught in the crossfire or being forced to shoot to kill or injure in order to defend a loved one. Moreover, the war between Sonny and Sidwell is dull, redundant and played out.
You mean you don’t love Sonny vs. villain redux?… but yeah, it’s becoming tired. Very, very tired. I can’t wait for the Metro Court rooftop pool to open and for someone else to get hurt, and zero lawsuits to be filed against Carly, Olivia, and the hotel.
You want someone else to get hurt? Well, isn’t that special.
I think Lulu knows Nathan. I believe she was there when his character was introduced years ago.

GENERAL HOSPITAL Preview: Serena Sets Her Sights on Michael; Jason’s Emotional Exit from the Mob
This week on all-new episodes of General Hospital, new and old motivations come into play with dangerous consequences. According to the just released GH video spoilers video for the week of August 3-7, a bailiff calls out, “All rise!”
Now it’s Isaiah (Sawandi Wilson) vs. Curtis (Donnell Turner), as the surgeon is suing the owner of the Savoy for assault that ruined is ability to operate. At the end of the day, which of these men has enough evidence against the other? Portia (Brook Kerr) is by Isaiah’s side, while Jordan (Tanisha Harper) is with Curtis.
Next, Lucy (Lynn Herring) has a plan to get the controlling shares of Deception away from Michael (Rory Gibson). She wants her daughter, Serena (Kelly Kruger) to seduce Michael. She tells her, “Pick out your most seductive suit.” Soon, we see Serena in her bathing suit at the Metro Court face to face with Michael.
Later, there is a small baggie containing three blue pills. Nina (Cynthia Watros) ask Willow (Katelyn MacMullen), “What did you do?” We also see Michael asking the same thing of Jacinda (Paige Herschell). Leading into this week, viewers know that Willow doesn’t want the former escort anywhere near her children, Amelia and Wiley. Is this how she stops her, or is Jacinda up to old tricks and wants to frame Willow? Remember when Jacindsa drugged Drew (Cameron Mathison)? Stay tuned.
Finally, in the pick-up from last Friday’s cliffhanger, an emotional Jason (Steve Burton) continues to tell Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he cannot work for him anymore. Sonny ask, “So that’s it? You’re Out?” We fade to black.

Sonny makes a stunning announcement. Serena makes her move. Willow faces a new threat. Isaiah takes the stand. Lucy questions Laura.
FRIDAY, AUGUST 7
Josslyn is taken aback. Ava courts a new ally. Jordan and Anna catch up. Isaiah vents to Lucas and Elizabeth. Michael questions Jacinda.

Vincent Pastore of ‘Sopranos’ Fame and ‘General Hospital’s’ Maximus Giambetti Dies at 80
Vincent Pastore, best known for his memorable role as Salvatore “Big Pussy” Bonpensiero on HBO’s The Sopranos has passed away.
The veteran actor was found dead on August 1st in his home in the Bronx, New York. Pastore was 80-years-old. The cause of death is yet to be determined.
As well as his role on The Sopranos, many soap fans will recall he played multiple smaller roles on the beloved One Life to Live from 1995 and 2004. However, in 2008, he landed the short-term role as Maximus Giambetti on General Hospital.
PASTORE WANTED TO BE ON GENERAL HOSPITAL
Maximus was the mobster father of Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) bodyguards: Max (Derk Cheetwood) and Milo (Drew Cheetwood)
According to Soap Opera Digest, Pastore told Soaps In Depth back in 2009, after appearing in a SOAPnet promotional campaign as a celebrity fan of General Hospital: “‘I’d love to be on the show. So they called up GH’s casting director (Mark Teschner) and Bobby (Robert Guza Jr. ex-head writer, GH) and they wrote me in!”
Pastore was a huge General Hospital fan from way back, who at one point told producers that he would watch the ABC soap opera while working in bars and nightclubs in the 70s and 80s.
Throughout his decades long career, Pastore appeared in films including: Goodfellas, Carlito’s Way and Men of Respect, The Jerky Boys: The Movie and the 1996 HBO TV movie Gotti.
In TV, besides The Sopranos, Pastore’s credits included: Law & Order, The Practice, Son of the Beach, Queens Supreme, Hawaii Five-0, Wu-Tang: An American Saga, plus the miniseries The Last Don II. Most recently, Vincent was a series regular on Gravesend and guest starred on Yellowjackets.
Pastore is survived by his daughter, Renee, son-in-law and granddaughter.
