General Hospital
GENERAL HOSPITAL Preview: Laura and Others Continue to Be in the Way of Drew Q; Sonny Confronts Marco
This week on all-new episodes of General Hospital, Laura (Genie Francis) is on the hot seat, literally during a public hearing in the video teaser for the ABC daytime drama series. This, after she and Jordan (Tanisha Harper) make a move to publicly split in their opinion over Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) to show discord, so that Jordan can go work undercover to bring down Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota).
Things take a turn during the proceedings, when congressman Ezra Boyle (Daniel Cosgrove) pushes back on the mayor stating, “Your allegiance should be to the people of Port Charles, not to the local crime boss!” Meanwhile, Drew Quartermaine (Cameron Mathison) is there looking quite full of himself and happy with what Ezra is stating as he continues to want revenge on anyone he thinks wronged him and for his thirst for power.
Also, Portia (Brook Kerr) tells Trina (Tabyana Ali) that the experimental surgery that Kai (Jens Austin Astrup) wants to have to return him to his football playing days is very concerning to her, and she can’t in all good conscience recommend it, medically. This puts Trina at a crossroads of how to support Kai in his decision.

Then, after learning that Natalia (Eva LaRue) is Jenz Sidwell’s ex-wife, Sonny now also knows that Marco (Adrian Anchondo) is their son, and he confronts the guy right in front of Diane (Carolyn Hennesy). What will Marco have to say about it all? Stay tuned.
Now below, take a look at the official GH spoilers for the week of April 14-18th:
MONDAY, APRIL 14
Trina confides in Portia. Willow makes a big decision. Brennan reassures Carly. Laura’s news rattles Sonny. Ava tries to soothe Ric’s worries.
TUESDAY, APRIL 15
Elizabeth gets a warm homecoming. Alexis wrestles with her conscience. Trina seeks out Ava. Chase and Lois have a heart-to-heart. Brook Lynn lays out her plan.
WEDNESDAY, APRIL 16
Lucky makes a commitment. Tracy is intrigued. Lucas walks in on a tense moment. Drew hatches a new scheme. Curtis is suspicious of Jordan.
THURSDAY, APRIL 17
Sonny hosts Dante’s birthday party. Brook Lynn and Chase plan their future. Felicia makes a request of Carly. Cody offers assistance to Molly. Marco gives Alexis food for thought.
FRIDAY, APRIL 18
Sonny confides in Carly. Jason confronts Sasha. Anna and Felicia catch up. Jordan gets a tempting offer. Maxie is taken aback.
So, what do you think of the entire Jenz Sidwell story thus far? Will Laura and Jordan’s plan work to bring him down and to actually save Sonny’s territory? What are your thoughts on congressman Boyle and Quatermaine? Let us know in the comment section. But first, check out this week’s GH promo below.
I like the Jenz Sidwell storyline. Every soap needs a bad guy/villian . Carlos Roto is perfect for this role. Not sure of the Natalia/Marco additions to the storyline. But we’ll see where it goes. I do think Sonny cut her off prematurely when she finally owned up to the truth.
I really dislike the whole Ezra Boyle/Laura Collins/Drew Cain story. Where is this going? Ezra is just annoying.
Joss as a WSB agent? I think this is an intriguing idea. It’s always been Anna and Robert so good to get the younger actors involved in the WSB.
It’s all stupid. Come on now joss an agent. And I wish Drew and Ezra would be taken down already But most of all Willow needs to see DREW AND NINA TOGETHER want too see her face bitch
It’s stupid. Joss and Kristina are alike. One killed someone. One tried to and BOTH got away with it. Joss as aWSB agent. So stupid! Who writes this crap?!?!!!!!
The situations are totally different. Joss did not premeditate Cyrus’ death. She was defending herself (although she shouldn’t have been in his cabin.)
Kristina purposely cut the brake lines intending to kill Ava. Her punishment (likely forced commitment) is yet to play out.
I totally agree, Joss?. Who came up with that. I guess they had to do something with her. She’s boring.
There are a lot of characters who get/got away with murder. If they didn’t they’d be off the show. How many have Sonny and Jason killed? Alexis killed Alcazar and Kiefer. Ava was about to kill her own brother, thought she killed Nikolas and barely shed a tear, and was responsible for AJ’s death by incriminating AJ in the murder she committed on Connie Falconeri.
As for Joss? She killed a serial killer. Why care? He was demented and dangerous and was coming at her with an ax.
Kristina is obviously not well; she lost her baby and her sister. She’s emotionally fragile. Still, she has a right to her rage against Ava; Ava’s evil and did inadvertently cause the baby’s death due to her and Scotty’s decision to have Kristina testify against her own father and possibly put him in jail for life. They knew how agonizing that would be for her, and did it anyway. If they hadn’t done that, she never would have gone to Ava’s to argue and that chain of events wouldn’t have occurred. And it didn’t take long for Kristina to realize what she’d done and try to warn Ava away from the car. She’s not some pathological killer…
I agree with you one hundred percent regarding Carlos Rota; he’s perfect for the role! So many viewers instantly hate the “villains” and want them off the show. It seems they don’t get that fiction, just as in life, there is good vs evil, hero vs villain, etc. And soaps have had some great villains. “Sidwell” brings an air of villainous sophistication; his accent, his demeanor, his subtle sarcasm, and yet he can erupt into a fiery explosion of anger, or blow someone away without a moment’s hesitation and get back to his conversation. I love his scenes… (as an fyi, and you and others probably know this, the actor’s married in real life to Nazneen Contractor, the actress who plays District Attorney Turner.
As for Ezra; I like him. I find him rather enjoyable. He’s silly rather than imposing, so I’m getting a kick out of him.
I don’t see Joss as an agent. She’s not Anna (Anna in her younger WSB days). Maybe it’s just my perspective; when you remember the WSB from back in the day, when we who watched were younger and the actors were younger, and the show had more money to really do up the WSB stories, there was an excitement to those stories. Anna, Frisco, Sean Donely, Scorpio…and their enemies. Great GH days. I can’t see anything like that with Joss. I could see her as a Private Investigator…
I could actually see new Emma in the WSB, she’s got that edge to her, but she’s going the animal activist, social warrior route….
I want us to just follow Tracy’s lead and refer to him as Drew Cain.
That said, it goes against my original thought of referring to BM’s character as a likeable Drew Cain and CM’s character as a sleazy Drew Quartermaine.
Intrigued as to what Brad might find in the medical records to indicate the switch in Drew’s persona.
Drew has a history of documented head injuries. He was run over by Ava in a stolen SUV when he first arrived in Port Charles. Presumably he would have had other injuries in the plane crash where he was “presumed dead” (when Billy Miller left the show) and most recently, the prison beat down courtesy of Cyrus’s hired goons.
Of course he also has history of brainwashing and mind control courtesy of the Cassadines, and that whole thing where his own brain was wiped clean and overwritten with his twin brother’s memories. But are those things documented as part of his medical history, since they aren’t exactly considered “medical” conditions?
I’m not sure what Portia’s trying to accomplish here, unless she thinks Drew’s documented history of brain injuries could raise legal questions about his eligibility to serve in Congress. If that were a valid way of removing mortals from Congress, I could make a long list of many who could use a similar evaluation.
Now if they can explain how Drew doesn’t seem to have Jason’s memories anymore- that would be an area that hasn’t been addressed.
You are certainly right. Wouldn’t he know everything Jason remembers up to this point, including any secret anyone has shared with him lately, or am I not understanding this memory thing, which is entirely possible.
The memories of Jason that were “grafted” into Drew’s brain would have been from the moment Jason woke up in 1996 (after AJ slammed his brain into a tree) up until the point Faison shot him in the back and kicked him into the harbor in 2012.
He didn’t get any of the pre-crash memories of Jason Quartermaine wearing the dorky Xmas sweaters, and of course wouldn’t have any connections to anything Jason experienced after 2012.
I don’t think the current writers understand Drew’s history at all, as they have made repeated references to his history as a Navy SEAL. Which Drew technically was, but he has no memory of that, since that part of his life was completely overwritten by Jason’s memories. So he’s as disconnected from that life every bit as much as Jason is disconnected from the sweaters, or anything else he did as a teenager. Logically, the two brothers should be able to “bond” over their common experiences, which seemed to be the direction they were headed when Billy Miller was still around, especially when Drew’s son Oscar was sick & dying. But ever since the Hallmark guy took over the role, they have him hating Jason for no good reason.. even though Jason rescued him from the Cassadine dungeons and (as far as anybody knew at the time) sacrificed his own life in the process.
Thanks a lot. Your details explained a lot
Satan, please evaluate for me how an adult man hasn’t got a clue on how to close an umbrella?
I’ll be eternally damned if I know! I don’t pretend to be an umbrella expert myself, but at least I have an excuse – It never rains down here, so I don’t own an umbrella!
Maybe it just happens in Wash.D.C to a certain bumbling idiot!
It’s just bad àcting on.CM’s part to me. He.is a horrible actor with the crazy facial expressions, the wild eyes, and the maniacal hand gestures. Billy Miller, may he RIP, was one of daytime’s VERY best and brightest stars. He should not have been replaced.
It was funny that every time that fat, little toad Boyle referred to “Congressman QUARTERMAINE”, Laura clearly enunciated, Congressman Cain in response.
I really don’t care about Sidwell at this point. I want someone to take down sleazy Drew Cain Quartermaine. What a vile character. Yes, this is fiction, but his storyline with Willow is just gross.
And, Alexis had better fight for custody of Scout or for her to go back to the living arrangements she knows with Danny and Rocco. This version of Drew is hardly a “DAD.” He’s more like a slimy “CAD.”
There are times I won’t even watch him and Willow. I want their story done along with Kristina’s.
I think Willow is stupid she gets what she deserves when it comes to Drew any man can brain wash her she doesn’t have a mind of her own I be glad when Micheal gets well and comes home that paper she sign for drew to raise her kids will go in the garbage. now when it comes to Boyle he needs to be written off the general hospital he will loose when it comes to Jenz him and his son will be expose when they do I will love to see stupid Lucy face because she will do anything for a dollar that’s including Maxi I’m surprised Sasha doing this for Money Now when it comes to Kristen please Alexis lock your daughter up in a mental hospital she is dangerous or if you don’t you will go to jail again you will loose Molly for good
I don’t like the Jenz Sidwell storyline, and come on its ridiculous that him and Natasha have 2 kids that are gay. GH is starting to get too woke. If they start having Emma Drake doing protests for Palestine I’m done.
Can’t take much more of dumb Willow either. It’s gotten to wear I just mainly fastforward thru it. Hoping for it to get a little better.
I’d rather go through life being woke than asleep but that’s just me.
I actually LOVE Sidwell; I think he’s one of the best characters to come along in a long time. Excellently written and portrayed. I do agree, though, that it seems unusual for both siblings to be gay, but maybe it isn’t unusual in real life and I just don’t have enough info on the subject. I am TOTALLY with you on Emma; I was fearing they’d go there too. If they do, after decades with this show I’d be done too. Let’s hope they have the sense not to, but I’m not sure of anything anymore in this upside-down world.
I am tired of Drew’s garbage and disappointed I Willow’s stupidity. I wish the two of them were written out of the show but leave Michael’s children with Carly. I also wish Drew’s sexual encounters with Willow’s mother would come out.
It’s Nina’s turn to have her grandchildren. If those kids were to be removed from Willow’s home, Nina should have both Wiley and Amelia. It’s bad enough she lost over twenty years of her life and had both daughters taken from her at birth. It’s way past time for GH to right the wrongs they keep piling on Nina.
I can’t believe Natalia stood right there, like she was mesmerized and ran her mouth about Sonny’s heart surgery, clearing the way for Sidwell to get to him, when it’s time. She’s even stupider than I thought she was or is it payback for Sonny dumping her?
Time for Dillon to return. Hopefully, they are killing off Liam on B & B. Love to see Scott Clifton back. An amazing next generation Quartemaine group !!! Plus he won’t be wasted on GH !!!

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).
Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.
Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON
Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”
Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).
Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.
“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?
During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.
Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.
You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.
Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason Reconnects with Danny; Tristan Roberts Arrives in Port Charles, Lots of Nods to #16

General Hospital’s 16,000th episode was packed with little reminders through points in today’s script that the ABC daytime drama series has set another milestone and it paved the way for the return of fan favorite and newly nominated Daytime Emmy Lead Actor nominee Steve Burton (Jason Morgan). The 16,000th episode also introduced viewers to the new surgeon in Port Charles Dr. Tristan Roberts played by Dean Geyer.
Here are the key takeaways and what went down on the July 13 episode: Tristan and Jason are seated next to each other on a plane heading to Port Charles. Throughout the flight, a beaten up Jason has flashbacks to being thrown into, and being held captive in a cell and tortured. It appears Jason is suffering from some form of PTSD from what he was put through after being dragged out of Port Charles by the WSB months ago.
As the plane prepares to land, Tristan tells Jason there would be a car waiting for him once they land and to enjoy the rest of his life. Later, Tristan arrives at the nurses and doctors hub at GH and approaches Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst). He tells her his name and that he is the new surgeon on staff.

A REUNION PLUS A HEAD NURSE DEFENDS SONNY
Meanwhile, at the end of the episode, Jason is outside the Quartermaine boathouse looking bewildered when he runs into Danny (Asher Antonyzyn), who is so thrilled to see his father, and the two hugs each other as tears are shed.
Elsewhere, Elizabeth tells Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he thinks its a great idea for him to get the 16th seat on the hospital board, but when it comes times to convince Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) of that, things go awry when Tracy, Laura and Sonny try to work things out. After Tracy launches into Sonny about killing Alan and Monica’s son AJ, Sonny walks away dejected.
Next, Sonny runs into Elizabeth, where he informs her what happened with Tracy. So what’s a head nurse to do? Elizabeth marches into the conference room and reminds Tracy of all the different donations and ways Sonny has contributed to the hospital from the Stone Cates AIDS wing, to the Michael Corinthos Center for Pediatric Head Injuries as well as his constant support each year for the GH Nurses’ Ball.

WSB WAR SCARS
Then, in one of the best parts for longtime fans of the series, Elizabeth talks about her legendary grandparents, Audrey and Steve Hardy and she tells Tracy they would have wanted Sonny to have a seat on the board for all the good that he has done for the hospital. After Elizabeth states Sonny’s case, things took a turn and Tracy and Sonny wound up shaking hands as Sonny is board member #16.
In the how great was it to see Anna (Finola Hughes) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) together scenes department, the pick-up of last Friday’s cliffhanger is played out as the two former lovers fill each other in on what has gone down in their lives in the last several months including Valentin admitting he had been living in Carly’s attic, and Anna realizing she was kidnapped by Cullum, Sidwell and Cassius Faison. During their conversation, Anna sees the hallucination of Peter August (Wes Ramsey) right while Valentin is standing there.

Courtesy/ABC
Later Anna was on her way to saying goodbye to Valentin, when the two share an emotional hug. After Valentin made his exit, Peter reappeared and warned Anna to not let Valentin distract her because she has important work to do. Anna answers, “I know.”
So, what did you think of General Hospital’s 16,000 episode? What do you think is wrong with Jason? What is the important “work” that Anna has to do? Were you glad to see Sonny get a seat on the hospital board, or not so much. Weigh-in via the comment section. But first, check out the scenes on Jason and Tristan’s long flight to Port Charles.
