Meanwhile, Lucky (Jonathan Jackson) is frantically running to the scene screaming for Elizabeth! At the hospital, Dr Lucas Jones (Van Hansis) has to tell Molly (Kristen Vaganos) about her father’s condition when she asks, “How’s my dad?”

In addition, and in the special GH 62nd anniversary episode airing tomorrow on Tuesday, April 1st,  Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) is looking at the memorial wall of all the greats who have past who have worked at the hospital or made major contributions to it including her father, Edward Quartermaine, and former chief of staff Steve Hardy. As previously announced, the episode will open the “Monica Quartermaine Cardiac Care Center” in a special dedication overseen by Laura Collins (Genie Francis).

Should of been Ava not Ric and Elizabeth in the car accident!!!

We know that. That was the whole idea, Kristina thought it was Ava’s car she was messing with.

Wrong. Kristina should NOT be cutting anyone’s brake lines. This is the same kind of thoughtless and reckless behavior that cost Molly and TJ their baby in the first place. How long will Lucky hide her crime? And when the truth comes out, will her parents and sisters forgive her and coddle her like they always do?Even if this idiotic loser had cut the right brake line, did she even think that Ava could have killed innocent bystanders?

Or that her daughter could have been in the car!! Now that Lucky knows Kristina is responsible for Elizabeth being hurt, fingers crossed he’ll tell what Kristina said – that she cut the brakes!

I hope he tells everyone. I’m not a fan of how Kristina’s story line has been. And she needs to stop calling Irene Adela. It was her fault that she list Molly and TJ’s baby. She needs to own up for her irresponsible actions

That would have been bad if Avery was in the car… I have a different option on that. It would have destroyed Kristina… She knows Ava killed her unborn child she set on getting revange

Ava is not responsible Irene’s death. It was an accident and an accident caused by Kristina’s reckless actions.

Didn’t realize Lucky was that close to Kristina and keeping his mouth closed about what she said. He should have dragged her by her hair, if necessary to the P.C.P.D.

Kristina’s parents and Lucky’s parents have been friends for years, so it’s an extension of those friendships that Lucky and Kristina would be friends themselves, and of course they have been working together at Charlies, which Lucky himself pointed out, was much like Sonny & Luke running the blues club together, back in the day.

Of course now Elizabeth has been injured in a situation Kristina created, so that’s obviously going to put Lucky in an awkward position. If it was just Ric who got hurt, Lucky probably wouldn’t be all that bothered by it, because he has his own reasons to hate Ric. But Elizabeth is the love of his life, so he obviously is going to choose her over protecting Kristina if it comes down to that.

That’s not to say he will be in a big hurry to volunteer the information until he absolutely has to. It’s not like Ric Lansing hasn’t pissed off enough mortals to have any number of potential suspects for cutting his brakes. Kristina only becomes a serious suspect here if the cops realize that Ava was the intended target, and not Ric.

Their families are close. She’s Dante’s sister, Luke and
Sonny were very close friends. They all go way back….

Satan and Rebecca 1, you both make some good points. I’d forgotten about Kristina and Luke’s families being close, but I’m just sick of everyone tiptoeing around her. If they ever continue this SL, I wonder who they will really blame?

But we’ve never seen them interact until just now. It’s like suddenly they’re close cousins. Lucky looks irritated by Kristina as if,” How did I get stuck with this whiny, hysterical twit?”

You’re assuming that they’re close because Luke and Sonny were once close. But we never saw any scenes between the two until quite recently.

You’re right. They’ve never been close. I guess we have to assume they became close behind the scenes. Same thing with Carly and Lucas. Lucas should despise Carly for destroying his dad’s life. Instead you’ve got him joining the Protect Carly Club headed by the club president, Jason Morgan. They all act like Carly is a 22 year old ingenue instead of a ridiculously stupid 55 year old woman.

And yet ironically you think that Lucas should hate his sister for what she did with Tony when she WAS 22 (or maybe younger? not sure if they specifically mentioned her age at the time, but she was somewhere in the early 20s when she first arrived in Port Charles)

Carly’s actions at that time were based on her misunderstanding of why Bobbie gave her up for adoption. She and Bobbie got over it and were very close in later years. Had Tony not died of whatever weird pandemic killed him off, he probably would have been over his past with Carly by this point as well. So it’s a little silly to expect Lucas should still be dwelling on something that he probably has no actual memories of himself, considering how young he was at the time his parents marriage disintegrated.

Carly was a full grown woman in her mid to late twenties when she systematically torpedoed Tony’s life. Mind you, he was still grieving the loss of BJ when Carly crashed into his life. She seduced him, and she lied to him telling him that he was Michael’s father. Tony becomes emotionally attached to Michael and then the truth of his paternity comes out and Tony snaps and kidnaps Michael. When he is found not guilty due to temporary insanity, Carly shoots him in the head. She also turned her personal thugs, Sonny and Jason, on him. After Hurricane Carly happened, Tony’s life was never the same. It would be forgivable in soap land had it ever been acknowledged but instead, she is portrayed as sone kind of put upon heroine.

Lucky has never been close to Kristina. The writers just threw that in there as a plot device.

Good point!

Lucky’s not going to rat her out. His father, Luke, and
Sonny, go way back. And he can see that Kristina is losing it. He’ll probably convince her to get help or maybe even speak to Alexis. But he’s definitely not going to go against her.

He should. Enabling Kristina is what turned her into such a mess in the first place. Molly has been through much worse and ye, she remains stoic, empathetic and strong. That’s because her parents don’t constantly placate her. Kristina is a horrible human being.

Kristina is on the dumb side and has no common sense. Kristina strictly a me myself and I person. Be glad when her contract runs out. She has worn this character into the ground.!!!!

Everyone knows Ava put them shoes in the way to make it seem like she tripped over them she didn’t Ava pushed her.

What’s the point to a soap if no one does anything bad? The story is Kristina losing it; she’s been losing it for months now. She’s been going over the edge. Even so, after she cut the brakes she did rethink it and tried to warn Ava…but it was too late. Without drama and characters going off the rails, the genre wouldn’t be what it is. It’d be Little House On the Prairie and the Brady Bunch relocated to Port Charles, lol.

Kristina shouldn’t be cutting anyone’s brakes. As a matter of fact she should be in a mental institution. But considering the source of who her father is, it doesn’t come as a complete surprise, at her violent attitude. I can’t imagine having someone like Kristina as a mother.

She’s not even a likable or charming lunatic. She’s immature, smug, self- entitled and spoiled.

Exciting week at GH

Maybe Ric will need a heart or some other organ transplant and Kristina can offer hers.

That be funny

If organ transplants are on the table, it’s more likely to go the other direction. Remember that Sonny is having serious heart issues at the moment. If Ric should happen to go “brain dead” from his head injuries, and Sonny’s heart condition should worsen to the point where a heart transplant is necessary, then what better donor than his own brother?

I really hope it doesn’t go that direction, because it obviously would cause Molly to hate both Kristina and Sonny forever, and force Alexis to be torn between her two surviving daughters and probably send her running back to the bottle as a result.

Nobody needs to see that again.

I hope not. I am enjoying Ric’s return very much, especially his hair ! ( yes, I am a bald jealous man )

All I know is that when Ric is in a scene, I’m watching. When Sonny is in a scene, I’m yawning. He’s become dull, and I hate how the mayor of Port Charles treats this murdering thug like the pillar of the community.

I think the girl needs professional help

Christina is crazy in head look at her eyes Rick heard her tell Ava she going pay and threaten her she not going get away with it that she not going to hurt anyone else put her in jail where she belong with those rat eyes of her even her mom can’t get her out of this watch this they going play that she was out of her mind with grieving try to put her in a mental hospital instead of jail Molly never forgive her for for hurting her dad and elibetha

Amen

So doesn’t alot of them on her she not the only one out of control

Kristina is wacky and out of control. Ava was exonerated and Kristina needs to get past it. Ava has had her tragic times as well, and I’m tired of everyone else facing consequences except Sonny, who always gets away with everything.

So Ava is gonna just continue to be able to do wrong no matter what it is it and never face any consequences? How long me

No I’m not mad at her for what she did she had no ideal that Liz would be in the car.. Rick deserved it after the way he treated her in court… To bad Liz was in the car.. I feel bad for Molly an Kristina relationship now . Once she finds out what her sister did.. is Kristina leaving the show? It sure looking that way with all the crap they are having her do.. she needs to see a counselor. To help her. Not be locked up

Your train of thought just derailed and crashed. It’s a bit concerning.

Please focus on other stories. Others are more interesting than Kristian revenge,….

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

Published

By

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).

Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.

Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

Photo: JPI

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON

Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”

Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).

Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.

“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?

During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.

Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.

You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.

Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason Reconnects with Danny; Tristan Roberts Arrives in Port Charles, Lots of Nods to #16

Published

on

By

General Hospital’s 16,000th episode was packed with little reminders through points in today’s script that the ABC daytime drama series has set another milestone and it paved the way for the return of fan favorite and newly nominated Daytime Emmy Lead Actor nominee Steve Burton (Jason Morgan). The 16,000th episode also introduced viewers to the new surgeon in Port Charles Dr. Tristan Roberts played by Dean Geyer.

Here are the key takeaways and what went down on the July 13 episode: Tristan and Jason are seated next to each other on a plane heading to Port Charles. Throughout the flight, a beaten up Jason has flashbacks to being thrown into, and being held captive in a cell and tortured. It appears Jason is suffering from some form of PTSD from what he was put through after being dragged out of Port Charles by the WSB months ago.

As the plane prepares to land, Tristan tells Jason there would be a car waiting for him once they land and to enjoy the rest of his life. Later, Tristan arrives at the nurses and doctors hub at GH and approaches Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst). He tells her his name and that he is the new surgeon on staff.

Photo: ABC

A REUNION PLUS A HEAD NURSE DEFENDS SONNY

Meanwhile, at the end of the episode, Jason is outside the Quartermaine boathouse looking bewildered when he runs into Danny (Asher Antonyzyn), who is so thrilled to see his father, and the two hugs each other as tears are shed.

Elsewhere, Elizabeth tells Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he thinks its a great idea for him to get the 16th seat on the hospital board, but when it comes times to convince Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) of that, things go awry when Tracy, Laura and Sonny try to work things out. After Tracy launches into Sonny about killing Alan and Monica’s son AJ, Sonny walks away dejected.

Next, Sonny runs into Elizabeth, where he informs her what happened with Tracy. So what’s a head nurse to do? Elizabeth marches into the conference room and reminds Tracy of all the different donations and ways Sonny has contributed to the hospital from the Stone Cates AIDS wing, to the Michael Corinthos Center for Pediatric Head Injuries as well as his constant support each year for the GH Nurses’ Ball.

WSB WAR SCARS

Then, in one of the best parts for longtime fans of the series, Elizabeth talks about her legendary grandparents, Audrey and Steve Hardy and she tells Tracy they would have wanted Sonny to have a seat on the board for all the good that he has done for the hospital. After Elizabeth states Sonny’s case, things took a turn and Tracy and Sonny wound up shaking hands as Sonny is board member #16.

In the how great was it to see Anna (Finola Hughes) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) together scenes department, the pick-up of last Friday’s cliffhanger is played out as the two former lovers fill each other in on what has gone down in their lives in the last several months including Valentin admitting he had been living in Carly’s attic, and Anna realizing she was kidnapped by Cullum, Sidwell and Cassius Faison. During their conversation, Anna sees the hallucination of Peter August (Wes Ramsey) right while Valentin is standing there.

Courtesy/ABC

Later Anna was on her way to saying goodbye to Valentin, when the two share an emotional hug. After Valentin made his exit, Peter reappeared and warned Anna to not let Valentin distract her because she has important work to do. Anna answers, “I know.”

So, what did you think of General Hospital’s 16,000 episode? What do you think is wrong with Jason? What is the important “work” that Anna has to do? Were you glad to see Sonny get a seat on the hospital board, or not so much. Weigh-in via the comment section. But first, check out the scenes on Jason and Tristan’s long flight to Port Charles.
