GENERAL HOSPITAL Preview: Who Crashes the Nurses’ Ball?

It’s that time when Port Charles gives us musical performances, Lucy’s (Lynn Herring) array of dresses, backstage panics, and major story points coming to a head, and of course, a top secret arrival. It all begins with the red carpet arrivals at the 2025 General Hospital Nurses’ Ball on Tuesday, May 20th, co-hosted by former lovers, Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) and Congressman Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison).

However, in the just released ABC promo for the action on all-new episodes of GH, the voice-over announce sets the stage with, “You’ll never believe who crashes the ball!” In what could be a red-herring, Gio (Giovanni Mazza) takes to the Nurses’ Ball stage, but while we know he will be performing, it looks like he has something to say! Does he already know he is Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) and Brook Lynn’s (Amanda Setton) son? Why does Lois (Rena Sofer) look so unsettled? Why does Ned (Wally Kurth) look stunned?

Meanwhile, Drew and Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) are in the audience with surprise looks on their faces, and Sonny (Maurice Benard) looks pissed. Fans have been of the mind on social media that Michael will be coming home and show up at the ball. Could that be the surprise guest, or did Sidwell (Carlo Rota) make some kind of dangerous move on Sonny, and reveal his true intentions for being in Port Charles?

Hoping for Blaze to return and a possible Leisl performance. We shall see. Very much looking forward to this week in Port Charles:)

Spencer comes back to life

That’s actually a good guess. Especially if Mikey was going to comeback as a “surprise” for his June 2 court date.

On the other horn, would Spencer really show up right before Grandma Laura leaves town on her usual 3 – 4 month summer vacation??

A recast Spencer will eventually make his way to PC, but it’s highly unlikely they would recast 2 key characters just days apart. Also, Trina & Kai would have to had moved their relationship along to build up the drama of Spencer’s return.

I have a feeling the surprise guest is going to be a Blazing snooze fest.

My original projection was a surprise performance from Liesl, but not sure it’s going that way, since she hasn’t been mentioned in a while. Nu-Michael might show up before the hearing. Is Jason’s call from “the real Drew”?

I was wondering if the surprise guest could be someone from Camilla’s old group which would worry Lois, but not sure anyone else would know who the person was.

I gave up GH since the beginning of the year. I saw the upcoming preview and they had Carly and Nina physically fighting. Two grown, professional women behaving like sceen from Dynasty, between Krystal and Alexis. This is supposed to be entertainment? Willow is an idiot and once the truth about Drew is revealed, she will probably find a reason to blame Nina. Nina needs to stop enabling her daughter be real with her. Either way, she will turn away from her anyway.

I agree with all of what you say. I hate seeing two fifty year old women physically fighting like two middle school girls. And yes, Willow is not worth it.

My face is almost completely blue from holding my breathe that it is Miguel Morez

If Ricky Martin were going to appear, the show wouldn’t keep it a surprise. They’d want to grab as much advance publicity as possible.

Well… I can’t disagree with that.

Nailed it.

Oh my.. I seem to have a fan… you have commented on all my comments! thanks Mike !

I prefer Michael, but you’re welcome!

Well..obtaining the license to preform Madonna’s Holiday is a pretty big deal itself!

Carly is the worst kind of hypocrite, Who in their right frame of mind gets to decide who does or doesn’t deserve to be a mother, these storylines are that terrible.

I would love to see Leisl return with the goods on Drew whom she takes down. But I doubt that will happen. Why would Blaze’s return stir up anything? I mean, Kristina does need a love interest, but she needs to work on herself first. Michael’s return would be a bit premature to shock Weeper and Drewfus. Maybe it’s one of Sonny’s enemies that Jenz brought back….What if Cyrus isn’t really dead? Or how about a Zacchara (spelling?)? Or what about a character people loved returned; someone like Dr. Monroe or Morgan or Franko or Britt? I don’t need the “return” to be a big bomb, just something that will propel story. Nothing lame.

Based on Tuesday’s episode, it certainly feels like Michael (the hand on the private plane). As his face was not burnt after the explosion, there won’t be a mystery about who he is (even with a recast).

I have watched GH since about 1970. I have never missed a Nurse’s Ball. This year I have to admit I think it was the best ever. I thought Geo’s performance was Amazing and the reveal to his parents was so sad for him. LULU can never keep her mouth shut. Hope Dante sees how manipulative she has been and does not take her back. As for Willow I can’t wait for the truth to come out about the real Drew and his actions she doesn’t know about her mother and Micheal. Kristina needs help but don’t want her to get harmed in anyway. Hopefully Micheal and Sasha get back together. Alot to look forward to. Keep it up GH!

GENERAL HOSPITAL Preview: Serena Sets Her Sights on Michael; Jason’s Emotional Exit from the Mob

Published

on

By

This week on all-new episodes of General Hospital, new and old motivations come into play with dangerous consequences. According to the just released GH video spoilers video for the week of August 3-7, a bailiff calls out, “All rise!”

Now it’s Isaiah (Sawandi Wilson) vs. Curtis (Donnell Turner), as the surgeon is suing the owner of the Savoy for assault that ruined is ability to operate. At the end of the day, which of these men has enough evidence against the other? Portia (Brook Kerr) is by Isaiah’s side, while Jordan (Tanisha Harper) is with Curtis.

Next, Lucy (Lynn Herring) has a plan to get the controlling shares of Deception away from Michael (Rory Gibson). She wants her daughter, Serena (Kelly Kruger) to seduce Michael. She tells her, “Pick out your most seductive suit.” Soon, we see Serena in her bathing suit at the Metro Court face to face with Michael.

Later, there is a small baggie containing three blue pills. Nina (Cynthia Watros) ask Willow (Katelyn MacMullen), “What did you do?” We also see Michael asking the same thing of Jacinda (Paige Herschell). Leading into this week, viewers know that Willow doesn’t want the former escort anywhere near her children, Amelia and Wiley. Is this how she stops her, or is Jacinda up to old tricks and wants to frame Willow? Remember when Jacindsa drugged Drew (Cameron Mathison)? Stay tuned.

Finally, in the pick-up from last Friday’s cliffhanger, an emotional Jason (Steve Burton) continues to tell Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he cannot work for him anymore. Sonny ask, “So that’s it? You’re Out?” We fade to black.

Take a look at the official GH spoilers for the week below.

MONDAY, AUGUST 3
Jason makes a sacrifice for Danny. Elizabeth becomes privy to a secret. Carly is touched. Valentin has a warning for Nina. Josslyn cautions Brennan.

TUESDAY, AUGUST 4
Brook Lynn and Chase celebrate a milestone. Trina gets an earful. Carly’s plan backfires. Curtis is skeptical. Michael is anxious about his family’s’ future.

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 5

THURSDAY, AUGUST 6

Vincent Pastore of ‘Sopranos’ Fame and ‘General Hospital’s’ Maximus Giambetti Dies at 80

Published

Vincent Pastore, best known for his memorable role as Salvatore “Big Pussy” Bonpensiero on HBO’s The Sopranos has passed away.

The veteran actor was found dead on August 1st in his home in the Bronx, New York. Pastore was 80-years-old. The cause of death is yet to be determined.

As well as his role on The Sopranos, many soap fans will recall he played multiple smaller roles on the beloved One Life to Live from 1995 and 2004. However, in 2008, he landed the short-term role as Maximus Giambetti on General Hospital.

PASTORE WANTED TO BE ON GENERAL HOSPITAL

Maximus was the mobster father of Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) bodyguards: Max (Derk Cheetwood) and Milo (Drew Cheetwood)

According to Soap Opera Digest, Pastore told Soaps In Depth back in 2009, after appearing in a SOAPnet promotional campaign as a celebrity fan of General Hospital: “‘I’d love to be on the show. So they called up GH’s casting director (Mark Teschner) and Bobby (Robert Guza Jr. ex-head writer, GH) and they wrote me in!”

Pastore was a huge General Hospital fan from way back, who at one point told producers that he would watch the ABC soap opera while working in bars and nightclubs in the 70s and 80s.

Throughout his decades long career, Pastore appeared in films including: Goodfellas, Carlito’s Way and Men of Respect, The Jerky Boys: The Movie and the 1996 HBO TV movie Gotti.

In TV, besides The Sopranos, Pastore’s credits included: Law & Order, The Practice, Son of the Beach, Queens Supreme, Hawaii Five-0, Wu-Tang: An American Saga, plus the miniseries The Last Don II. Most recently, Vincent was a series regular on Gravesend and guest starred on Yellowjackets.

Pastore is survived by his daughter, Renee, son-in-law and granddaughter.
