I’m not familiar with Rory Gibson’s work from Y&R, but it will be interesting to see what he brings to the role of Michael Corinthos.

When he was in a scene in YR I thought he was a good actor. Soft spoken. Unfortunately he didn’t have many scenes until we went to London to work at one of Newmans companies. I’ll be curious on his whole as Michael myself

I liked him as Noah should be a good Michael

Roy jas played michael before several times when chad was absent for awhile. I like him as Noah and Michael.

No he didn’t. Robert Adamson is who you are thinking of – who also played Noah on Y&R

Right, and I have gotta feel for Robert Adamson who has gotten a raw deal twice. First, he was let go and replaced by Rory as Noah on Y&R and second, he wasn’t even called in to audition for Michael when he successfully filled in for Chad several times before. Insult to injury? The same actor who replaced him on Y&R was cast as Michael over him. It’s not Rory’s fault, of course, but it would be difficult to not mentally place his face on the cloud of disappointment that has enveloped Robert as of late.

That was a different actor who also played Noah Newman on Y and R who’d fill in for Chad Duell on GH.

I hope you guys know how it is you get so use to the 1st Michael looks, demeanor and ruthless attitude and this new Michael looks nothing like tje old one. I’m invested in GH and can’t wait for the New episodes.

It was a great episode on Thursday and Friday!!

He will be great as Michael ‘ I loved him as Noah on Y& R now we get to see the other side of his acting talents!

For Drew to be outed for all his lies and black mailing.

I watched him on Y R. I THINK HE WILL FIT RIGHT IN AS michael. If it can’t be chad

Yep

Can’t wait. Drew better not mess with Jason

I can’t wait until Drew gets what coming to him

I agree, he has schemed and lied and I can’t wait for Willow to see what see threw her life away on. Nina should have told her that she was sleeping with him.

I agree; Nina should have told willow she was sleeping with Drew.

I was wondering when that would happen. Now I am wondering who will be the one to say something.

Lulu should mind her own business. She is so jealous of Brook Lynn that she was willing to blowup lives. Hopefully, Dante will say goodbye to this witch!

I totally agree. Hope Karma gets her and never has a chance to be with Dante again! She just cannot mind her business.

Gio, is 21 years old, and should have been told many years old, that he was adopted. Who doesn’t tell, their son, that he is adopted. This is Lois and her mother’s fault!!

Actually the fault is Lois, her mother, and the lady who raised Gio. The one who raised him should not have died without telling him, and I don’t care what kind of agreement she made with Lois.

Amen!! Lol

I totally agree that Lulu needs to suffer.for all the pain she has caused Gio, Dante and Brooklyn. None of this was any of her business and I hope Dante never speaks to her again. Lulu is a jealous, vindictive, self-righteous witch and I hope everyone in Port Charles turns their back on her.

From your mouth to the writers ears. Lulu is a totally obnoxious nosy witch. I wish she’d never woken up. I’m tempted to stop watching this show because of her. She makes me want to puke or slug her in her crappy mouth.

Lulu is a shi-ity, no good, selfish, poor example of a woman, and mother.

Í agree about Lulu and in the midst of the chaos, she is calmly sitting there talking to Cody like she wonders why there is a problem! I’d like to see Brooklyn, Lois and Laura slap her right across her big mouth! She had no reason to say or do this, especially during the Nurses Ball other than to cause conflict. What a vindictive troll!

Right! Gate mouth horse! She should feel about 2 inches tall! I wonder what Laura is going to say to her?

Ugh..I feel the same way about Lulu

Actually, I kinda get where Lulu’s coming from. There are two sides to the issue, and I can understand her desire that Dante should know that he has a son. And Alexa Havins is phenomenal in this role. Killin’ it!

I agree! Then she sits there talking to Cody as if she wonders what the big deal is! He even regrets his part in it! Lulu has some slap-ups coming but from who? None of this was any of her business!! Nosy troll! She deserves all her personal business to be told but I don’t know of any, she has been in a coma for 4 years!

Lulu is not the bad guy here. Actually, there are no bad guys in this situation but if I had to point a finger, it would be pointed and Lois, not Lulu. And I like Lois!!

Sure,Lois should have told, but if a mad dog starts an attack, you wouldn’t blame the ones who knew that the attack was going to happen. Lulu started the attack, and she did it with hate and vengeance, maybe if her sorry butt would have waited she might have been able to reason with Lois, and Lois might been able too convince BrookLynn that it was time too deal with it. But oh no Ms Busy Body just couldn’t wait!!

Lulu had no business getting involved with this situation. Once a child is adopted, it’s up to the adopting family to decide what information to give the child and when. As far as the underage birth mother is concerned, she has to deal with the situation as best as she can. Lulu has a snooty attitude that she can do whatever she wants to. She has been nothing but a wrecking ball. She needs to go back into a deep sleep.

#Carol I like Lois too. She just made a bad choice with her mom to keep the truth from Brooklynn who didn’t even no that Gio was her son.

I agree Lulu does not deserve to be with Dante. Why did she have to be the one to let the cat out of the bag, did she think that this would win Dante over and he would forget abt Sam whom he loved. Lulu is jealous of Brooklynn that’s the bottom line, and for me I hope Dante never get back with her. She just had to be the one to BLOW up everyone’s life no matter how many times she was advised.

I want Willow to get it thrown in her face that he was sleeping with her mother before sleeping with her I want to see that unfold

Ditto

Mé too! I wonder what Laura is going to say to her…

Omg I’m right there with you, I’ve been waiting for them to say she and Drew were sleeping together so it could be a slap in her precious Willows face lol. I’m so excited that Michael’s character came back and the perfect timing. I love Ava’s role right now finally Kristina gets in trouble for something. She’s so annoying. Same with lulu. Can’t stand her and hopefully Dante wants nothing to do with her

I was with you, but I don’t see anything good about Ava at this point, although Kristina is responsible for the start of this mess, Ava has opened the door for a lot of grief that’s going too make her regret her blackmail plot. How was she so dumb that she didn’t know that Alexis wasn’t going too not fight back at some point.

Me too!

Yeeesss!

He slept with Nina a couple of times AFTER he had slept with Willow

I want Kristina to go to prison for trying to kill Ava

I don’t see it happening. They brought in a new actress. Put her on contract. I do hope she’ll get some medical help for her issues though

I wished that no harm comes to Kristina cause Ava is the Devil she lies, kills, and steals and she needs to be stop!!!

Please let them send Kristina a one way ticket to a mental facility in Siberia. I’d be happy to never lay eyes on that spoiled, embittered little brat again.

Without conscience, Kristina reneged on her contract as a surrogate. She has narcissistic tendencies. She shows no remorse for anything that she does. She feigns regret when she may have to face consequences. Not a good person to be around.

But General Hospital would be a lot less spicier without Ava Jerome. We’ve already lost Liesl Obrecht, and Selina Wu seems to be in limbo somewhere with Scott Baldwin. Cyrus is probably dead. Tracy has evolved into the new Lila. Soaps need good villains, especially those like Ava who are self-centered but not necessarily desiring to see the world burn.

The episodes on Thursday and Friday were freaking awesome. GH was like the show we love. Hope it stays that way.

Yes Thursday and Friday was the best I have seen on GH in a long time. It was totally awesome

I’m looking forward to when willow find out Drew is the reason she did not get to talk with Michael when she went to Germany.

Yes I’m waiting for that convo with Willow and Michael

Me too I can’t wait until willys all alone and suffering the way she did Michael

I’m not familiar with that guys work either. But hope he ready to fill in big shoes.. looking forward for the Michael. An brooklyn story

Great actor as Noah on YandR, but why do they have him wearing his hair like that ? He looks like alfalfa !!

I’m glad they kept Michael’s character I want him back with sasha is Liam character on the bold and beautiful coming back to GH

I Hope NOT! I’ll have to hold on to the remote so I can hit the mute everytime he opens his mouth! His whining along with Steffies made me completely quit even trying to endure that show! I really think they gave up paying writers for scripts and just turned it all over to AI, I’ve seen far too much AI generated junk on YouTube and the dialog on B&B sounds just like them! I saw one episode last year where almost the entire 18 minutes or so was nothing but Liam whining practically the same sentence, over and over! He sounded like his needle got stuck! Or like he was reading an AI generated script, because along with false information, every single video they post on YT will repeat the same chunk of dialog at least 4-5 times minimum, usually a whole lot more! I’ll climb down from my soapbox now, AI has become my biggest pet peeve lately, and I teñd to go off on a tangent On a positive note, I’m thrilled with their choice for Michael, I was upset at their dismissal of Robert A for the role, but as much as I liked him for the part, I’m now glad Rory got it instead! Who’d have thunk it? The PTB actually get it right occasionally!

I would love to see more of how it would play out with Brooklyn, Dante and Lois. Than Michael, Willow and drew.

Question: Why is it that nobody remembers that Ninba did call Carly to tell her about Sonny being in that little town as Mike and Carly did not give her a chance to explain . Carly hung up the phone when she heard Nina’s voice. I would not have called back either. Carly needs to own up to the part she played. At thait time Nina probably told Carly where to go.(after she hung up).

Glad Michael backfill miss Chad but Michael needed to come home now please let him beat Willow and Drew at there owngame ĺet him get Willow and Drew they need to go bad they destroyed thoes kids lying to them then acting like they were so worried bull there just mad they got caught Drew needs tools big time and boo who Willow needs to lose big time she was not the victim Michael al.ost died and all she cared about was herself so she needs to hit ROCK BOTTOM SHE ISNT INNOCENT yes Michael had one night with Sasha but they were both hurting but he never did what thoees two did

I need Willow to find out Drew paid off the nurse and all the dirty work he is doing to everyone.

I wish Nina would drop her bomb that she was also sleeping with Drew when he started up the affair with Willow… and if memory serves me correctly.. I believe the last day he hooked up with Nina, he also bedded Willow.

If Nina is the super mom she claims to be… I would take the angry from Willow.. but then they both would be rid of slimy Drew

Somehow Tracy is going to be the one to drop the dirt on the Nina/Drew dalliance. She (and Ned) have been saving that bombshell for the right moment.

Today Sonny told Nina the only hope for joint custody is if Willow leaves Drew. If that’s not enough for Nina to spill the beans, I don’t know what is.

Nina won’t do that, because that would blow up in her face. Not only did Drew sleep with Nina, but Nina slept with Drew! Willow would wash her hands of her.

Just saw today’s show. Wow. What chemistry between Michael & Sasha!!!!

Can we get General Hospital on late nites are early mornings working person missing my special show.

Two ways to do that. Hulu and HellCable. Hulu’s probably easier, since you don’t have to give up your soul and actually descend into Hell to watch it.

AND if you spring for the premium plan, you can see the whole show in 36 minutes!

Miss Michael (Chad) He looks more like Carly’s son and he’s a great actor. Hope he and his family is doing well and many success to him. Glad his character is back and get full custody of his children from Drew and Willow. Also excited about the exposure of Lois’s secret (Brook Lyn, Dante, Gio, etc)

Kind of think he resembles Billy Warlock’s AJ.

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

Published

on

By

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).

Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.

Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

Photo: JPI

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON

Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”

Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).

Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.

“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?

During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.

Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.

You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.

Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason Reconnects with Danny; Tristan Roberts Arrives in Port Charles, Lots of Nods to #16

Published

on

By

General Hospital’s 16,000th episode was packed with little reminders through points in today’s script that the ABC daytime drama series has set another milestone and it paved the way for the return of fan favorite and newly nominated Daytime Emmy Lead Actor nominee Steve Burton (Jason Morgan). The 16,000th episode also introduced viewers to the new surgeon in Port Charles Dr. Tristan Roberts played by Dean Geyer.

Here are the key takeaways and what went down on the July 13 episode: Tristan and Jason are seated next to each other on a plane heading to Port Charles. Throughout the flight, a beaten up Jason has flashbacks to being thrown into, and being held captive in a cell and tortured. It appears Jason is suffering from some form of PTSD from what he was put through after being dragged out of Port Charles by the WSB months ago.

As the plane prepares to land, Tristan tells Jason there would be a car waiting for him once they land and to enjoy the rest of his life. Later, Tristan arrives at the nurses and doctors hub at GH and approaches Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst). He tells her his name and that he is the new surgeon on staff.

Photo: ABC

A REUNION PLUS A HEAD NURSE DEFENDS SONNY

Meanwhile, at the end of the episode, Jason is outside the Quartermaine boathouse looking bewildered when he runs into Danny (Asher Antonyzyn), who is so thrilled to see his father, and the two hugs each other as tears are shed.

Elsewhere, Elizabeth tells Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he thinks its a great idea for him to get the 16th seat on the hospital board, but when it comes times to convince Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) of that, things go awry when Tracy, Laura and Sonny try to work things out. After Tracy launches into Sonny about killing Alan and Monica’s son AJ, Sonny walks away dejected.

Next, Sonny runs into Elizabeth, where he informs her what happened with Tracy. So what’s a head nurse to do? Elizabeth marches into the conference room and reminds Tracy of all the different donations and ways Sonny has contributed to the hospital from the Stone Cates AIDS wing, to the Michael Corinthos Center for Pediatric Head Injuries as well as his constant support each year for the GH Nurses’ Ball.

WSB WAR SCARS

Then, in one of the best parts for longtime fans of the series, Elizabeth talks about her legendary grandparents, Audrey and Steve Hardy and she tells Tracy they would have wanted Sonny to have a seat on the board for all the good that he has done for the hospital. After Elizabeth states Sonny’s case, things took a turn and Tracy and Sonny wound up shaking hands as Sonny is board member #16.

In the how great was it to see Anna (Finola Hughes) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) together scenes department, the pick-up of last Friday’s cliffhanger is played out as the two former lovers fill each other in on what has gone down in their lives in the last several months including Valentin admitting he had been living in Carly’s attic, and Anna realizing she was kidnapped by Cullum, Sidwell and Cassius Faison. During their conversation, Anna sees the hallucination of Peter August (Wes Ramsey) right while Valentin is standing there.

Courtesy/ABC

Later Anna was on her way to saying goodbye to Valentin, when the two share an emotional hug. After Valentin made his exit, Peter reappeared and warned Anna to not let Valentin distract her because she has important work to do. Anna answers, “I know.”

So, what did you think of General Hospital’s 16,000 episode? What do you think is wrong with Jason? What is the important “work” that Anna has to do? Were you glad to see Sonny get a seat on the hospital board, or not so much. Weigh-in via the comment section. But first, check out the scenes on Jason and Tristan’s long flight to Port Charles.
