GENERAL HOSPITAL: Are you Team Kristina or Team Molly?

By Michael Fairman

Months ago, and during the ‘Molly’ revolving door, viewers knew General Hospital was setting up this drama and now it is fully-realized. On Friday’s July 26th episode of the ABC daytime drama series, it became abundantly clear to both sisters, Molly (Kristen Vaganos) and Kristina (Kate Mansi), that “Houston, we have a problem!”

Molly and TJ (Tajh Bellow) took major issue with how Kristina went on the Perez Hilton talk show with Blaze (Jacqueline Grace Lopez), and when asked about her pregnancy, she did nothing to dispel that the child she is carrying does not belong to her, but that she is acting as a surrogate for her sister.

That prompts legal eagle Molly and TJ, to have papers drawn up. Molly drops by to see Kristina with said documents. It’s at that point that Molly wants Kristina to sign the papers that terminate any parental rights to the child she is carrying.

Kristina hesitates to sign saying she is upset by this, but Molly reminds her that they agreed she would give up any parental rights to the child and she must sign the documents. Molly says Kristina’s interview made it look like the baby was hers, but Kristina denies she was trying to do that. Kristina says she was trying to keep Molly out of the limelight. Fed up with her stall tactics, Molly demands Kristina sign the papers, but she refuses, yet again.

Kristina says she is worried about the state of TJ and Molly’s relationship and how they have been recently fighting and how does she know that the baby will have a stable home. Molly says she can’t adopt the baby until Kristina signs over her rights.  Next, Molly goes on about Kristina’s failed relationships. Kristina says she needs to make sure TJ and Molly will make it together as a firm couple, first.

At that point, Molly tells Kristina that she knows she has been lying this whole time and accuses her sister of wanting to keep the baby. Kristina pipes up that she feels that she and Blaze would make better parents as things stand right now. Molly demands she, “sign the damn papers!” However, she is late for a court case, and storms out.  You can watch the heated exchange below.

UPDATED: After this posting, “Team Molly” was trending on X, while Kate Mansi also shared if she was “Team Kristina” or “Team Molly”, to which she responded; “I’m both!”

Now let us know: are you #TeamKristina, and think she has a point to protect the child from possible parents who might break up?  Or, are you #TeamMolly, who trusted her sister being her surrogate, since Kristina had full knowledge and understanding that she would have to give up the child to TJ and Molly once the child was born? 100% team Molly !

I understand both sides but I have to say team Molly. I was told I would never have children and it is the most devastating news for most women. I did IVF for years. I miscarried my first child, had cycles that didn’t work, thankfully I had my daughter. 3 1/2 years later I had my second miracle, my son. I was told I would never conceive on my own less than 1% chance but I deed. Molly and TJ need their miracle

The writers are making Kristina look crazy. Like Molly said, what do they have to do to prove themselves to Kristina. It’s beyond immature.

This has nothing to do with maturity nor are they making Kristina doesn’t look crazy. She’s grown attached to the baby; has developed maternal feelings and is having a hard time (as Alexis warned her could happen which is why she advised her to think long and hard about being the surrogate. Molly is right to be concerned; but Kristina isn’t doing this because she wants to be difficult or is being irrational. It’s more difficult than she ever realized it would be to give her child up.

Agreed

Yess 100% team Molly!!

Team Kristina Molly and TJ have been on her the whole pregnancy treating her like Crap, I would’ve gotten sick of it too

Agreed!

They are the baby’s parents. Kristina begged them to let her do this for them and at very opportunity Kristina has put herself, her wants, her feelings, her opinions, everything, first. Yes, she’s gotten attached. Yes, that’s a very real thing that happens when you’re pregnant. But for any family that has had to fight for right to be parents in the first place, watching the way they are portraying Kristina is exactly why it is so terrifying for people to trust their surrogates or bio parents when adopting. The sad truth is, it’s not Kristina’s baby, not really. Kristina didn’t listen to anyone’s warnings as usual and did want she wanted and now she is realising that it’s not as easy as she thought. Instead of bring honest about being attached, she is villianizing her sister and not listening yet again to those around. her. Also, Blaze already said she’s not ready to be a parent to Krissy needs to deal with reality and live in this fantasy she’s built. It’s very triggering for me to watch this and honestly I don’t know if I can watch until this is done.

It was bound to happen – Team Molly!

I understand both points of view… but, I do feel like Molly is being unduly influenced by TJ, so I’m more so team Kristina on this one. Her intention, of not mentioning Molly & TJ’s situation LIVE on television without their consent, was the best kind of situation they could have asked for.

I agree

Molly has her own mind and it’s not mainly TJ fault or Molly being influenced by TJ. It’s both Molly AND TJ, period.

I do like this Molly better than the two previous recasts by far, but she’s being 666% ridiculous about this, and it’s mostly TJ’s fault. He’s been dragonshit insane about anything having to do with Kristina for months now. This latest example being the most ludicrous. There was nothing at all in that interview that was said or implied by Kristina that the baby was “hers”.

Rather, she was protecting THEIR privacy by not discussing the baby or the surrgogacy circumstances in the interview, since it had nothing to do with the entire reason for the interview, which was her relationship with Blaze and the leaked recording of Blaze’s bigoted mother.

Sometimes I have to remind myself that TJ and Portia are not blood relatives, since they both seem to have the same combination of hypocrisy & paranoia. Though at least Portia is directing hers toward Heather, who is a legitimate cause for concern. While TJ has been peripherally connected to Corinthos Coffee, LLC since he was about 12 years old (and with Molly most of that time) and never felt like he was in any danger from Sonny, even when both of his parents were directly on the payroll.

Right??? Portia and Jordan should definitely trade children! Lololol!

I agree. Sonny got shot and paralyzed with TJ as a hostage, and I always thought they were on good terms in general. Now he is brand new. Don’t get me started with Portia not the Heather stuff but everything else….I digress. Alexis warned this could be an issue she knows both of her daughters very well. It is hard Nu Molly is a little more into the role but not all the way. Nu Kristina had more time for me to invest in her…still miss the other Kristina her bond with her parents so strong. I am divided so great storytelling.

Why does everyone here keep putting all the blame on TJ. Molly is just as guilty as TJ!! Period.

Team Kristina. She is doing a very selfless thing for her sister and is being treated with mistrust the whole way.

That’s why Alexis tried to discourage this from happening. She knew her daughters and how they would act, going down this crazy road. I hope she won’t have to go to court in one of their behalfs, or serve as their council.

I have an unholy feeling this could end up with two sisters in court, with Alexis and Ric as their attorneys. Obviously that would be a serious conflict of interest on both parts, but when has that ever stopped the writers?

I don’t think Alexis would take a part in defending one daughter over the other. It will probably be Diane Miller representing Kristina and Ric representing Molly.

Agree 100%

They both have concerns. Kristina was protecting her sister by not revealing Molly’s personal story.Molly needs to grow up.Tj is much to controlling &out of line.First he said Kristina’s father was dangerous. I guess he forgot that Sonny saved his life when Cyrus kidnapped him and tried to kill him. When he was on the outs with his mother who gave him a place to live.Sonny.i don’t care for this Molly at all. Those papers should have been signed from the get go.Maybe Molly &Tj aren’t ready to be parents.

100% baby should go to Molly. That being said Molly & TJ have been nasty to Kristina.

Agreed the baby belongs with TJ and Molly. I feel bad for Kristina since Molly & TJ over reacted to the interview. Kristina was protecting their privacy and shut down the pregnancy question fast. I hope a day comes when people give Kristina some credit for being more mature than she used to be. People have been so mean to her this year. Enough is enough. She doesn’t need to convince herself that TJ and Molly are going to break up. She needs to honor her promise and give the baby to them. And they need to apologize to her for how poorly they’ve treated her.

100% true, well said.

It doesn’t matter if she signs or not. As the bio mom she has the right to change her mind.

Why? The baby, by blood belongs to Kristina and T.J.

Team Kristina. Molly and TJ are obsessively looking for anything to go wrong with this pregnancy and Kristina. They are both highly critical of anything Kristina does or says.

Molly is a spoiled, entitled little bitch. Don’t know how she got that way, because their mother always treated them equal. Molly talks about her sister being kooky or flighty, naming all her faults, but to me she takes the cake. I think Krissy should keep her baby.

Molly might be inheriting all the worst traits from her father. Insane levels of sibling jealousy being the most obvious one. And if this is still going on when Ric comes back, of course he’s only going to make it worse.

True this, but let’s not forget who Krissy’s dad is and my bets on him!

#Teamkristina

Definitely kristina

Team Molly, when Kristy had the audacity to tell Molly that maybe her and lover who she has had for 5 minutes may keep the baby until She feels Molly and TJ are up to standard as a couple. Who is she to decide anything

Thank you!

Amen!

Amen!!

I have to say, I’m team neither, both are right and wrong, but Kristina is more wrong as of now, Molly only kryptonite is T.J, he’s been so intense, and he now has Molly freaking out. So if I do have to pick, right now its Molly, Kristina loss me when she suggested that her and blaze (whom she’s been dating for minute) are more suited to raise the baby, what crack is she on?

Kristina, BUT I DO want her to give the baby to Molly and TJ even though I wouldd only Z MAYBE give them some goldfish because I don’t think they could even handle a puppy, but Kristina is not ready for motherhood yet, she and Blaze are just seeing the hearts and flowers part.
Kristina made a commitment and as an honorable person, she is bound to abide by it. She is not a psychic, has no idea what the future will bring for Molly and TJ,but it is not her baby. If there are problems after the baby is born, they can be addressed then, BUT after Molly told TJ awhile ago that after the birth, Kristina will not be allowed near her or him and the way MOLLY and TJ lost it over nothing and Molly showed her true colors to Kristina Friday, they bear careful watching.

I’m both. I think the way Molly & TJ have behaved toward Kristina is terrible. Just on this topic, Kristina & Blaze actually anticipated the question & k Kristina (rightly so) thought it best not to let Moly “ TJ get outed as the parents. Kristina is definitely feeling some maternal feelings but I think if TJ & Molly were smart, they’d let her be. I’m pretty sure she’s gonna hand that baby over.

1000000% TEAM MOLLY!

Team Davis Girls. This is entirely miscommunication on a Shakespearean level and truly annoying.

Team Kristina, in Molly is just a selfish person and TJ I don’t know what he is but a self centered jerk and has to have it his way

“Hardly appears” is TJ.. the odd chat with his mom… I’d like to see us get know TJ more… wonder if all “hell” will break loose and maybe the writers will pair up Kristina and TJ with the baby and have Molly completely left out… it is another possible outcome to all this…

Kristina and TJ might naturally bond being the baby’s biological parents.

We’ve known T.J for many years , he’s been a great guy, until recently with this baby thing and then, boom, they changed his character into this jerk he’s being now. Of course, he and Molly are arguing and Kristina is being very unrealistic thinking and worrying about them staying together. If everyone believed as she does, no one would have children, in the likelihood, that they might not stay together, as her parents did for example, and T.J’s also. In this case, this baby will have a mother and a father, even if they aren’t together.

I am so ready for the Davis.Girls to be gone! But that does not look like it’s going to happen any time soon

Team Molly and TJ,,Kristina did exactly what they were afraid she would do.. and the point is there mother pointed out the facts and warnings.TJ never felt comfortable with Kristina.but I knew the writers was going to cause some drama between sisters, it’ll be sad if they had viewers that are going through the same thing and have the same options but because of this situation, they are not gonna do it

The only one correct was Alexis. Blood or no blood, papers mentioning “termination” should have been signed before any of the clinical procedures took place. TJ and Molly have treated Kristina badly. Kristina is naturally hormonal right now and deserves some grace, but she’s wrong to say she and Blaze are more suited. She initiated the idea of being a surrogate. Honor the promise. But if she never speaks to TJ and Molly again after how they’ve treated her, I understand.

I don’t think anyone could argue with a thing you said. It all makes perfect sense!

Team Molly

Am team Kristina she’s excellent doing a great thing for her sister trying to protect her how dear Molly throw her pass in her face shame on u

Molly, TJ wasn’t sure about it but after some time and his love for Molly, he finally agreed to go with Kristina. Tj knew it wasn’t a good idea but Molly wanted it so bad that he went against his gut feeling.
I also felt that selfishly it turned into Kristina letting her mind and heart be involved and with Blaze, another big helping factor, they both began to feel this was theirs, and Molly’s faith in her sister went out the window. TJ had the gut feeling and should have kept it. Love for another so much can make you do things that even you are against.

In the end, Molly can’t conceive and Kristina can’t. Imagine the gift of unselfish love you can give to a family member when they can’t, but in the future, you always can.

They already knew Kristina was going to do something crazy

Team Kristina, Molly & TJ have treated her horribly. She offered a beautiful gift but they found the need to control her life – every aspect of it! According to them she does nothing right.

She never plan on giving them the baby

TEAM MOLLY! No contest!

Totally team molly. Kristina knew went she decided to do this for molly that the baby was TJ and Molly’s. She knew what was going to happen and what she signed up for. What’s she’s doing to Molly is horrible. Molly loses another chance at being a mother by her own sister!!!! That cruel by the writers. How can the family of the Davis move forward from that. Terrible storyline. TJ and Molly could break up but so too could Kristina and Blaze!!! Dumb storyline and awful to pit sisters against each other like that.

I’m so sick of both of them, and Blaze too get rid of them.

I’m on Kris’s side. From the start TJ has been acting crazy. He is pushing Molly around. He told her she pushed him to do it. Like he didn’t have a choice. He tried to control who Kris saw, what she ate. He never treated neither Davis sister with respect. If I were Kris I would make them write me an apology for everything they did wrong. I believe Kris is protecting her sister because Molly doesn’t have claim to the child. She probably feels as if she doesn’t do what TJ wants then he might take the baby and run.

As usual Kristina is WAY out of bounds…a replay of Maxie & Lulu’s desperate I want to keep the baby!!!

Team Molly. She can’t have children. Her sister begged Molly to let her do this for her sister and now she changed her mind.

I like both this Molly and this Kristina. But I’m team Kristina. She gave up 9 mouths of her life for Molly and your mad because she didn’t tell me Perez Hilton that the baby was yours she didn’t said it was a private matter what did you want her to say my sister’s you can have children’s so I’m getting up my egg to provide her with the baby

I like both actress that’s kristina and Molly more the the past ones. I have say I’m team Kristina you’re mad because of her interview with Perez Hill. Trying to say that Molly my sister can’t have children so I’m getting up my egg to provide her with the baby

Team Molly (and TJ)

Team Molly – the minute they agreed Christina would be the surrogate- new Christina would pull this. What a surprise it would have if Christina honored her decision to be the surrogate for her sister.

Team Molly

Molly , Kristina is so wrong

I’m team Kristina, she’s trying to do the right thing, she did volunteer to carry the baby, for them, but TJ,and Molly, have become so demanding ,if I was Kristina I would keep the baby

Team Christina. Molly is way out of line. Jumping to conclusions.

First I just want to say that I think both of these actresses are great recasts. I don’t even think I’d be watching this story if Haley Pullos was still in the role. Car accident aside, which was horrific, I just don’t like her as an actress. That voice alone; had to mute her. After three attempts to recast, this actress, Kristen Vaganos, brings a whole new vibe to Molly; love her in the role. Lexi was great as Kristina and I didn’t think I’d like anyone else in the role but Kate is great.

I’m team Molly on this. It’s quite obvious that Kristina’s developed feelings for the baby and doesn’t want to give him or her up. Molly is right to be concerned. I also think it’s obvious that regardless of whether she was put off by Molly asking her to sign the papers, she would have just signed them if she had any intention of doing so, if for no other reason than to put Molly’s fears to rest. And the excuse that “what if” TJ and Molly broke up doesn’t cut it. She can still sign her maternal rights away and let Molly be the mother to this baby whether she and TJ are together or not.

Love Kristina, but Molly’s right.

I can see both sides. There was an agreement when all of this started but I have to say the way Tj and Molly treat Kristina is what will destroy them. Molly is a bit over the top thanks to tj and her reaction to the interview was out of control. Kristina was keeping the surrogate information private but Molly went off the rails. At this point I don’t see how this can end in a good way for the sisters. Unfortunately there’s ab innocent baby at the center of all this.

Team Molly!!!

Kristina did nothing wrong, she didn’t say anything about the baby as WHO’S BABY it was,the are missed at nothing, an are pushing Kristina to do the right thing KEEP THE BABY,ìt was wrong of Molly to have her sign the papers then an there,,Molly AN Tj are over reacting an going to be sorry

Team Kristen.TJ̌ putting all this m ess in molly head.

I’m team Molly. I understand where Kristina is coming from. She really wants to keep the baby because fundamentally it is her baby. It grew from her egg in her body and she has bonded with it. She is grasping at straws for excuses to keep the baby (i.e TJ and Molly are arguing and might break up) I don’t think that is a legitimate excuse. She should stand by the original agreement, sign the papers and turn the baby over to Molly and TJ when it is born– I know this will not happen. It’s a soap opera after sll– LOL!

Team Kristina for sure!!!

100% I am team Molly. Kristina practically begged Molly to let her carry the baby for her.

I think the writers need to get out of this story line, it’s getting a bit ridiculous. To do that hey should have Blaze make Kristina see the light and the promise she made to her sister and stop this nonsense in the show. If they continue, then TJ and Molly should sue her for stealing the child she promised to give them.

I’m team Molly. It was Kristina who offered to be the surrogate. I understand how Kristina is feeling carrying a baby for 9 months. There has to be a maternal feeling of wanting to keep the baby. I think she’s too close in the relationship with Molly & TJ.
It probably wasn’t a good decision from the start,& Kristina has a chip on her shoulder.

I do not like this new writing team. Where is Sam in all of this. She used to straighten out both of her sisters
But, now they have her off to herself being angry at everyone. This used to be a tight knit group – The Davis Girls!

I love Kristin V. as Molly. I’m glad GH finally settled on the right actress. Definitely Team Molly. An agreement between sisters is an agreement. Kristina should stick to her end of the bargain. This whole storyline of Molly and TJ might break up is ridiculous

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

Published

By

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).

Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.

Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

Photo: JPI

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON

Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”

Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).

Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.

“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?

During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.

Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.

You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.

Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason Reconnects with Danny; Tristan Roberts Arrives in Port Charles, Lots of Nods to #16

Published

By

General Hospital’s 16,000th episode was packed with little reminders through points in today’s script that the ABC daytime drama series has set another milestone and it paved the way for the return of fan favorite and newly nominated Daytime Emmy Lead Actor nominee Steve Burton (Jason Morgan). The 16,000th episode also introduced viewers to the new surgeon in Port Charles Dr. Tristan Roberts played by Dean Geyer.

Here are the key takeaways and what went down on the July 13 episode: Tristan and Jason are seated next to each other on a plane heading to Port Charles. Throughout the flight, a beaten up Jason has flashbacks to being thrown into, and being held captive in a cell and tortured. It appears Jason is suffering from some form of PTSD from what he was put through after being dragged out of Port Charles by the WSB months ago.

As the plane prepares to land, Tristan tells Jason there would be a car waiting for him once they land and to enjoy the rest of his life. Later, Tristan arrives at the nurses and doctors hub at GH and approaches Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst). He tells her his name and that he is the new surgeon on staff.
