GENERAL HOSPITAL: Britt Tells Jason The Whole Truth; Josslyn Finds Evidence That Cullum’s Behind Anna’s Disappearance

By Michael Fairman

Published

on

On General Hospital, the Friday, January 30 episode showed some relationships finally being honest with each other, while others continued to deceive one another.

First, after Lulu (Alexa Havins Bruening) and Nathan (Ryan Paevey) share their first kiss, in a moment of realization, Lulu breaks the smooch, and tells Nathan that if her bestie, Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) knew about this, she would kill her. Nathan says they can’t ignore their feelings for each other, and Maxie has moved on from him and built a life with her kids and Spinelli (Bradford Anderson).

Lulu points out that’s only because she thought her husband was dead. Next, Lulu informs Nathan that Maxie never stopped loving him. Nathan brings up Dante (Dominic Zamprogna), which is another problem they share since Nathan works for him at the PCPD and he was married to Lulu. She explains that waking up from her coma after four years, they just couldn’t get their relationship back on track. Lulu tells Nathan she sure enjoyed their kiss, but they have to keep it between them.

COME AND KNOCK ON MY DOOR

Carly (Laura Wright), who now has a new perspective on Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) tells him that he can sleep in the guest room instead of the attic tonight during the winter storm. She is certain no one will come out in this weather to the house and find him here, but Jack shows up at the door! Valentin hides back in the attic. Jack spots two whisky glasses on the table. Carly covers saying she poured it expecting Jason (Steve Burton) to stop by. When Jack gets a call on WSB business, he walks into the other room. Carly looks in the mirror in the foyer and convinces herself she can fake her way through making love with Jack, even though she currently cannot stand the guy. We think she finds Valentin far more intriguing at the moment.

CIGARILLOS AND A NOVEL

Back at Wyndemere, after beating Cullum (Andrew Hawkes) at Chess, Josslyn (Eden McCoy) is being quizzed by Cullum at how she got so good at playing games. He gets up to leave the room and she goes through his jacket and finds the cigarillos used to spook Anna (Finola Hughes) as one of Faison’s trademark mementos as well as the book that Faison wrote with the inscription and a face resembling Anna on its cover. When she asks about the novel, Cullum denies knowing Ann. To pass the time, Josslyn says she is going to read the book as he scowls at her while she sits back at her chair.

DANGEROUS GAMES

Then, Britt (Kelly Thiebaud) finally opens up to Jason. She explains that after she thought she died in Port Charles, the first person she saw when she woke up at the Five Poppies was Cullum. She tells Jason the only reason she’s alive is because they want her to finish Faison’s final project and Cullum works for the WSB.

Britt explains she’s working on cold fusion for the project in exchange for the medication. Britt says Faison created it, but died before he could use it on himself and it’s still experimental, but it’s helping her symptoms. Next, Britt tells Jason she saw Sidwell (Carlo Rota) shoot and kill Henry Dalton right in front of her and how dangerous the men involved are.

Jason promises to get her out of this, but she has to let him help her. Britt agrees, but to keep him safe they have to pretend they are not together in anyway, shape, or form. Since it will be the last night they will be together, they hit the sheets.

So, are you glad Britt told Jason the truth? Will Jason be the one to save the day and bring down Cullum and Sidwell and company? How long will it take when Maxie wakes up out of her coma for her to figure out that Lulu and Nathan are into each other? Is Josslyn in danger from Cullum? If so, what do you think he will do to her? Weigh-in via the comment section. But first, check out the scenes of the aftermath of Lulu and Nathan’s kiss below.

I’m bored by it all. Britt and Jason are a bore, Lulu and Nathan are also a bore and an annoyance. Carly and Valentin are also a bore and an annoyance. Silly Skipper Jax ( parts and accessories sold separately) is just an irritant, and I don’t buy her at all as a WSB agent at all. And Carly and Valentin? Please. Finola Hughes said in an interview when asked about her being romantically paired up with Charles Measure( who was playing Brennan at the time) and she responded that basically LW’s Carly gets all the men so no, Anna would not be paired up with Brennan. But Anna and Valentin were presented as anguished, star crossed lovers. And then Carly enters the room and all bets are off. I mean, because she’s so damn irresistible?

Then stop watching, it’s great 4 me

Brilliant response, Nikki. If you regularly read the comment section of Mr Fairman’s blog, you’ll know more often than not, I offer more positive comments than negative ones. But I have the right to vent once in awhile without you telling me to stop watching. GH has been consistently great this last year but last week it took a bit of a nose dive.

This week on all-new episodes of General Hospital, new and old motivations come into play with dangerous consequences. According to the just released GH video spoilers video for the week of August 3-7, a bailiff calls out, “All rise!”

Now it’s Isaiah (Sawandi Wilson) vs. Curtis (Donnell Turner), as the surgeon is suing the owner of the Savoy for assault that ruined is ability to operate. At the end of the day, which of these men has enough evidence against the other? Portia (Brook Kerr) is by Isaiah’s side, while Jordan (Tanisha Harper) is with Curtis.

Next, Lucy (Lynn Herring) has a plan to get the controlling shares of Deception away from Michael (Rory Gibson). She wants her daughter, Serena (Kelly Kruger) to seduce Michael. She tells her, “Pick out your most seductive suit.” Soon, we see Serena in her bathing suit at the Metro Court face to face with Michael.

Later, there is a small baggie containing three blue pills. Nina (Cynthia Watros) ask Willow (Katelyn MacMullen), “What did you do?” We also see Michael asking the same thing of Jacinda (Paige Herschell). Leading into this week, viewers know that Willow doesn’t want the former escort anywhere near her children, Amelia and Wiley. Is this how she stops her, or is Jacinda up to old tricks and wants to frame Willow? Remember when Jacindsa drugged Drew (Cameron Mathison)? Stay tuned.

Finally, in the pick-up from last Friday’s cliffhanger, an emotional Jason (Steve Burton) continues to tell Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he cannot work for him anymore. Sonny ask, “So that’s it? You’re Out?” We fade to black.

Vincent Pastore, best known for his memorable role as Salvatore “Big Pussy” Bonpensiero on HBO’s The Sopranos has passed away.

The veteran actor was found dead on August 1st in his home in the Bronx, New York. Pastore was 80-years-old. The cause of death is yet to be determined.

As well as his role on The Sopranos, many soap fans will recall he played multiple smaller roles on the beloved One Life to Live from 1995 and 2004. However, in 2008, he landed the short-term role as Maximus Giambetti on General Hospital.

PASTORE WANTED TO BE ON GENERAL HOSPITAL

Maximus was the mobster father of Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) bodyguards: Max (Derk Cheetwood) and Milo (Drew Cheetwood)

According to Soap Opera Digest, Pastore told Soaps In Depth back in 2009, after appearing in a SOAPnet promotional campaign as a celebrity fan of General Hospital: “‘I’d love to be on the show. So they called up GH’s casting director (Mark Teschner) and Bobby (Robert Guza Jr. ex-head writer, GH) and they wrote me in!”

Pastore was a huge General Hospital fan from way back, who at one point told producers that he would watch the ABC soap opera while working in bars and nightclubs in the 70s and 80s.

Throughout his decades long career, Pastore appeared in films including: Goodfellas, Carlito’s Way and Men of Respect, The Jerky Boys: The Movie and the 1996 HBO TV movie Gotti.

In TV, besides The Sopranos, Pastore’s credits included: Law & Order, The Practice, Son of the Beach, Queens Supreme, Hawaii Five-0, Wu-Tang: An American Saga, plus the miniseries The Last Don II. Most recently, Vincent was a series regular on Gravesend and guest starred on Yellowjackets.

Pastore is survived by his daughter, Renee, son-in-law and granddaughter.
