GENERAL HOSPITAL: Carly’s Caught Between Brennan and Valentin: Who is the Man For Her?
On General Hospital, Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) has found herself as the woman in the middle between arch-nemesis, Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna) and Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart). Now on the set-up going into the April 10 episode of the ABC daytime drama series, while hitting the sheets with Jack, who professed his undying love to her, she envisioned Valentin in their moments of intimacy.
In the pick-up, after their night together, Carly walked Jack to the door, where he thanked her for giving him a second chance, and she thanked him for the update on Jason. The subject turned to Valentin. Carly questioned Brennan why it was so important to track him down. Jack came forward with that the WSB wants the information Valentin has on Sidwell and the final project of Cesar Faison.
After Jack exited, Carly turned around and none other than Valentin was there. Valentin believes she is going to double-cross with Jack. Carly revealed that she felt bad that Jack loves her when all she claims she is doing is using him. In addition, Carly feels that Jack felt guilty about recruiting Josslyn into the WSB. That comment irks Valentin when he knows and she knows Jack has never confessed that he recruited Carly’s daughter. Next, Valentin becomes curious as to what would happen if Jack told her about Josslyn? Would that make her still feel bad for the guy?
Valentin went in on Carly saying that she looked like she enjoyed Brennan’s company, while admitting that he was jealous because he’s developed feelings for her. Now with tears welling-up in her eyes, Carly shares that if Valentin thought she would betray him, then he didn’t know her at all.
From that point out, Valentin shuts down and called their sleeping together a big mistake, and they needed to stick to their ultimate plan and goal. Carly fired back that they shouldn’t let “some Stockholm Syndrome sex thing” screw everything up between them. An upset Valentin exits up the stairs to the attic. Meanwhile, once hearing Valentin slam the attic door, Carly flashes back to their hot night together.
So, do you think that Carly will ultimately move her relationship forward with Jack? Valentin? Someone else? Weigh-in who you would like to see her with. But before you post your comment, take a look at Carly and Valentin’s scenes from a few days back, then let us know.
Carly really should have joined a Trappistine monastery and never looked at a man other than an elderly priest. But, that ship has sailed. In my opinion, Carly will be much better off with Jack Brennan. He is a very flawed man; but, he genuinely loves her and has demonstrated that time and time again by the risks he has taken on her behalf. He is trying to become a better man. Carly and Jack are very appealing together. Valentin is a chronic liar, manipulator, who has been on the run from the law off and on for as long as he’s been on the show. Look at the life he’s put his daughter through. I think Valentin’s overtures toward Carly are just more manipulation for his own needs. Besides, Carly and Valentin have no chemistry together.
Except, she doesn’t really love Jack Brennan. I really think she loves Valentin.
Sexual obsession is not the same thing as romantic love. Not to be vulgar but it was pretty much spelled out to viewers that Carly ascended to orgasmic bliss when Valentin went south of the border on her. And boy, was that hard for me to write without any pearls to clutch.
I am starting to think that there is some kind of built in writers’ template that dictates that all men must fall under Carly’s spell. Honestly, I don’t get the appeal. Valentin reminded me of Otto from a Fish Called Wanda as he gazed at Carly waddling up the stairs with Brennan to her bedroom in order to make love with him. I fully expected Valentin to appear from the outside window just as Otto did and say,” Don’t call me stupid.” And Valentin does appear to be stupid. His idiotic obsession with Carly of all people has ruined his mystique. I hate this storyline as it is predicated upon plot and not character.
100%!
Once you envision someone else’s face on the guy in bed with you, there’s no going back. Carly may be grateful to Jack for assisting with Jason and keeping her out of prison with the RICO violation. That will never be enough to cancel out the danger he put Josslyn in.
They’ve been chem testing Jack with others. So, he’s likely to stick around.
I think Carly should take a vow of celibacy and take a 6 month sabbatical to Budapest. I’m tired of Valentin acting like her house dog so happy when his master comes home.
I know both men are WSB and therefore are trained liars. But if comparing the two, I thought Brennan was more convincing confessing his love for Carly. I don’t think Carly has chemistry with many men, but I’d say Brennan is a more suitable pairing for her. Valentin is written poorly in this storyline, in my opinion. I just don’t see him falling for Carly under these circumstances. Or at the very least, I don’t see see Valentin ever acting like a jealous school boy. I liked Valentin being there to help Curtis rescue Jordan. I think it’s time the writers let Valentin out of the attic and back into Port Charles society. Enough with this other stuff.
Valentin is an international spy, he thrives on the adrenaline. Wooing Carly just raises the stakes in this situation and therefore the danger and the rush. I can totally see how he’d fall for her. James Patrick Stuart and Laura Wright are smoking hot together, in my opinion. And Chris McKenna (Brennan) has real chemistry with Cynthia Watros, who needs an exciting scene partner for Nina. Let’s have the two of them dance around each other. In terms of story, if Carly ever finds out Jack tried to have Sonny killed, that would end their relationship anyway. She’s more fun with Valentin.
agreed. She clicks with both, but I think she loves Valentin more.

‘General Hospital’s’ Giovanni Mazza Performs Aladdin’s ‘A Whole New World’ Ahead of Monday’s Crossover with Michael James Scott
Ahead of Monday’s second part of the crossover event between General Hospital and the Broadway musical Aladdin, featuring Michael James Scott’s (Genie) appearance in Port Charles, the ABC and GH social media team has released a montage of Emma (Braedyn Bruner) and Gio (Giovanni Mazza) in the Big Apple complete with Giovanni Mazza’s own rendition on the violin and the guitar, no less, of the signature song, “A Whole New World.”
Michael James Scott, who in story, knew Gio when the young man played violin in the orchestra pit of Aladdin, is set to perform at Curtis Ashford’s Savoy nightclub. In a preview of Scott’s performance, Mazza said in an interview with On the Red Carpet, “That guy has the most energy I’ve ever seen out of anybody. It was nuts to see him on Broadway and then when he came to ‘GH,’ he did a fantastic performance. He did a new, cool rendition of ‘Friend Like Me,’ and I think fans are really gonna enjoy it because it’s really cool to see a performance like that on ‘GH.'”
Meanwhile over this weekend, General Hospital is once again showcasing the musical talents of Giovanni Mazza, who is a classically trained violinist who has performed multiple times on the soap opera, but recently at the LA Lakers playoff game half time show, with his rendition on the violin of Michael Jackson’s Smooth Criminal and now the beloved song from Aladdin.

Viewers also first learned Mazza played guitar, when he accompanied Tabyana Ali as Trina during an open mic scene at the reopening of Charlie’s. Now he plays once again in his version of “A Whole New World.”
It appears that GH is now found one of the young couples that viewers are gravitating to. Bruner shared on Emma and Gio, “I think we’re just growing in love. Like I feel we are constantly taking the next step and leveling up in our relationship.”
Check out Gio’s rendition of A Whole New World below.
Now let us know, are you a fan of the Emma and Gio relationship? What do you think about the multi-talents of Giovanni Mazza? Interested in seeing Michael James Scott sing on Monday at the Savoy? Share your thoughts in the comment section.

‘General Hospital’s’ Chris McKenna On Jack’s Reaction to Carly Cheating On Him with Valentin: ‘Heartbreak and Absolute Rage and Humiliation’
The stage is set for next week on General Hospital, after yesterday’s May 1 cliffhanger, when Brennan (Chris McKenna) sneaks into Carly’s (Laura Wright) house and heads up to her bedroom, bursts in the door and finds her between the sheets, albeit at that moment alone.
However, Jack is already armed with plenty of ammo, he saw two glasses of wine in Carly’s kitchen, Josslyn (Eden McCoy) already lit the fire, by telling him her mother was seeing someone else, the WSB bureau chief then went to visit Carly’s ex, Sonny (Maurice Benard). The mobster’s reaction pretty much sold Jack that Carly must be sleeping with another man.
As Jack goes to check out the situation to confirm his suspicions, Carly and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) have just hit the sheets, after fighting their attraction once again for each other. Now comes the moment of truth that Carly has been sleeping with Brennan’s sworn enemy, Valentin.

In a preview of what’s to come, Soap Opera Digest spoke to both Chris McKenna and Laura Wright where they talked about the upcoming scenes. McKenna expressed, “This has been coming for such a long time.” He also previews, “Brennan comes at her pretty aggressively.”
THREE’S COMPANY
Wright added, “Carly didn’t expect Brennan to walk into her bedroom! He doesn’t have a key. It’s late at night. She thinks she and Valentin are in the clear. She sees that he’s so angry and so worried about being cheated on… but not that he’s sorry for lying to her face or because her daughter is in danger because of him!”
As to how Jack will handle the situation from here and finding out that Carly is with Valentin, McKenna confirms, to expect, “heartbreak and absolute rage and humiliation” from Jack. He’s thinking, ‘This can’t be real. This can’t have happened. I can’t be this stupid. I can’t have been this blind.’ And as to Jack’s current state of mind, coming into the situation, “Jack is drunk and a little unhinged and the audience finally gets a glimpse of what’s going on underneath that rigid exterior.”
Needless to say, the fallout will be huge, and McKenna is proud of the trios work in the scenes, sharing that Laura Wright was a fantastic as ever, and that GH’s executive producer, Frank Valentini was on the set the entire time with Laura, James and him, making this story point play out to its full effect.
So, are you excited to see how what goes down between Brennan, Carly and Valentin and the fallout? Do you think this will cement Carly and Valentin as a couple, or will Carly regret what she’s done to Jack? Weigh-in on how you hope this all plays out via the comment section below.
